Show Label for Variable (FOX) in WAD

Hi,
I have an FOX-Code like:
DATA CHANGE TYPE F.
CHANGE = VARV(Z_BPS_F01).
{ '0CS_TRN_LC' } = { '0CS_TRN_LC' } * CHANGE.
Now, I´m designing a integrated planning scenario with the Web Application Designer. I can create a BUtton Group and call this the planning function. Additionaly, I´m able to crate an input Field with the WAD.
Could anybody explain me following: How can I connect the field on the screen with the variable CHANGE?? The goal is. that the Field 0Cs_TRN_LC is raised by a multiplier typed in by the user.

The variable that is referenced to in the statement VARV(***) should be a characteristic in the real time cube. There used to be a nice variable type called 'numeric". Looks like that has been removed in IP. May be you can try a bex formula variable.

Hi,
Just check following setting are also done.
transaction RSA1 -> Query-infoprovider -> "display" -> look for the relevant infoobject -> right-mouse-click -> "provider-specific Properties" -> "Query Exec. FilterVal"
Set this option to "Master Data" and recheck the behaviour.

Can I show a data label for only one point in a series?

Forgive a newbie question from an Excel convert, but can I show a value label for only one point in a data series? If yes, how?
There are a number of graphs where I only want to value of either an extreme value or the ending value to show. Having all the labels in a series makes the chart too busy. This is pretty easy to do in Excel.
If this can't be done, I guess that adding a text box over those points would work.

Sure. Here's and example labeling only the MIN and MAX points.
Column B contains the data charted with the blue line.
Column C extracts the MIN and MAX values using the formula below. Those two values are charted as a separate series, using the green data point markers, and are labeled with their values. The intervening empty string values appear to have doused the lines connecting the two data points.
Formula: =IF(OR(B=MAX(B),B=MIN(B)),B,"")

Hi,
As far as i know u do not need any special web item to display the text variable as such. have a analysis item in u r WAD and assign query to the same. Ur variables appear as per the configuration u have made in the query designer. WAD has nothing to do.

"Date picker" in report - - View source shows no label for the date picker

In one of my reports, I am using multiple types (textarea/text/date picker/select list)
I wanted to use a javascript based on the label, but I do not see "<label>" for Date picker in the view source due to which my Javascript fails.
Snippet of view Source:

Hi,
OK - the headers attribute should also help as these will identify the correct cells. You would need to know the html tags used within each cell for each datatype.
Would using cloneNode help you? It's a method of creating a copy of an entire row in a single instruction

Show labels in BarChart issue

i have created a BarChart with 5 series... but i m not able
to create the data labels for each series and each day...
like for Monday and first series i have to show low and high
indexes, so at the end of first series(6.3) i have to show 17 &
43 and at 1.7 we have to show 18 & 44 ....for each series and
day, the low and high values will be different for each series and
day.....
low and high indexes data is in indexDataMonday variable
which is for Monday... so in the same way we will have for
different days

Problem with Variable screen in WAD

I have a problem with variable screen in WAD , in the varable seen it is displaying only Key , it is not giving any description , but in BEX is is displaying both Key and Description , can any only have an idea why is this happening . this is occuring only for one variable , rest are working fine .

Hi Abraham,
thsi could be a problem from the specisic setting of the infocube. Please check the BEx Settings from the infocube. You can find them by the following steps:
- search for the infocube
- doubleclick on the infocube
- choose an specific infoobjekt
- right mousebutton and click "specific dataprovider settings"
- check if the right entries are set

I'm afraid I haven't made my question understood clearly.
What I am looking for is a method to get the value of variable inside excel (e.g. put it into a cell / range of a worksheet, so that we can reference it and use it as an input for planning function execution).

Dynamically Changing Labels for Multi Row Block Buttons

Forms [32 Bit] Version 9.0.4.1.0 (Production)
Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.5.0 - 64bit Production
On my local: Windows 7 OS
I am having a difficult time in doing the following in forms, and not sure if it can be done?
I have a multi row block,based on DB table, which displays filename and another column from the table.
It also has a push button on each row, which opens and displays the physical file from its source, when clicked. The filename thus can have 3 diff statuses depending on its sources and accordingly corresponding button should display appropriate label:
a) View Image (its is in content server and successfully imaged. In this case I display the file in the browser, from the content server, when the button is clicked)
b) View File (Display the file from file system)
c) View Error (Display imaging error message from the table, as file failed to make it to the imaging server)
I have this logic currently coded in the post query trigger, at the block level, and tried using set_item_property(button_id, label, <button_lable>), where I programmatically set the button lable, based on the file status (imaged, not imaged or has error) in that row. This wroks well, only if all the files in the multi row block have the same status. If each of them have diff statuses, then only last processed files's status gets reflected into the button label. For eg: The file in the first row of the block is imaged, and one in the second row has an imaging error. The button label for the first row should say 'View Image' and button for the second row should say 'View Error'. But now buttons for both the rows display 'View Error', as thats what got processed last!
I __can not use set_item_instance property for 'label'__ (which lets us dynamically change the label on the push buttons).
Is there any way to do this for ORacle forms? I am now playing with having 3 diff button items in that block, laying them on top of each other and showing only those that are appropriate and hiding the others... But I am not sure it is going to give me what I need? I think I am going to end up facing the same issues as in above case!!
Any expert advice is highly appreciated.

Ringtone not showing up for songs I bought on iTunes

Ok, so I get that I can only create ringtones for songs bought through the iTunes store. Most of my songs are non-iTunes, but there are some that I had previously bought and want to turn into ringtones. However, after I turned the ringtone view option on, the icon only showed up for 9 out of the (according to my account purchase history) 50 songs I bought on iTunes. Has this happened to anyone else? What gives?

But all songs are NOT available for ringtone use - only those whose recording representatives chose to enable as ringtones. It's not up to apple, it's up to the label and their artists.

Filter value for variable selection screen

This could be a tricky or an easy question, but it seems too hard for me !
I'm storing version in my cube, and have a report which shows informations for the version you select (with a variable = ZVERSION01).
ex : Version :
V01
V02
V03
V04
When report is executed i have my variable selection screen (for variable ZVERSION01) which give all version [V01 -> V04]. But i want users have no access to version V01 & V02.
Variable ZVERSION01 is "single selection", i tried to filter with Default Values screen or Characteristic Restriction screen but it doesn't work.
ex : caracterisitic restriction screen : VERSION = !V01 / !V02
default value screen : variable VERSION = ZVERSION01
Any idea?

Hi,
In BI 7.0 there is Anaylysis authorisation RSECADMIN transaction. That you can use here or normal role concept will also do.
What you need to do is grant authorisation to the users for V03 and 04 version only and create 'Authorisation' type variable on version in the query. (type of variable - it asks while creating the variable). This way users will only be able to see authorised versions only.
Note you have to make version infoobject as Authorisation relevent infoobject. ( in infoobject properties).

I made an ImagIcon array.
It doesn't work properly.
It shows only first image while the variable is incrementing. :(

You are sleeping the thread used to perform the repaint.
Calling repaint only marks a component as needing painting, and AWT will paint it later. If you continue to loop in the mainthread then you will not see the changes.
You have to move your loop to another thread.

HideShow: Column does not show label

I have one hideShow region inside table, but it does not show label in column.
Someone know help me?

Under the Identification tab, there is a characteristic 0PSTNG_DATE. The corresponding 4th column is for Cube1, but Cube2 contains the posting date we are reporting on through the multiprovider. The third column (Equal To) is NOT checked for Cube2.
Could that be the problem? What is the significance of this checkbox not being checked for Cube2.
On the other hand, I see 0PSTNG_DATE also under the fifth column (Char/NavAttrib), but the corresponding Cube3 and it is checked under Equal To

Can you help interpret these columns and the significance of the fact that there is no checked under Equal To for the Cube2 which is what actually feeds the column, TargetColumn (i.e the column which does not get populated with date when the Posting Date filed is set.
