Signing app with keychain certificate

I know a CA that issues free certificates on a Mac with
keychain. I had sent a request for a signed certificate and have
received it by mail. This is because I don't want to use a
self-signed cert.
The file name is certificate.pem
How do I use this certificate to sign my AIR app ?

Mail does not allow signed message with .Mac certificate

Hi all,
until a few weeks ago, I was able to send signed or encrypted message with my .Mac account and .Mac certificate. Both of them are still valid, and I can still read all messages I sent as encrypted and/or signed, however, Mail does not show the two buttons to crypt and/or sign emails. The certficate seems to work to encrypt iChat dialogs as well.
I repaired my Keychain, looked at how certficates were configured, everything seems normal to me.
Any clue ??

Well, it seems that we've come across something finally.
In comparing notes, my friend (who is currently able to sign and encrypt messages) and I were comparing notes on our respective certificates. In doing so, he pointed out that he'd noticed a difference in the PURPOSE of my cert versus his cert.
His cert shows the following purposes:
1 - Client Authentication
2 - Email Protection
3 - Apple .Mac Identity
4 - Apple iChat Signing
5 - Apple iChat Encryption
Whereas mine only shows these purposes:
1 - Client Authentication
2 - Apple iChat Signing
3 - Apple iChat Encryption
Another thing I noticed while comparing his cert to mine after he pointed this out...his cert is due to expire at the end of October. Mine, on the other hand, was created this past Friday.
Now, from what I understand, these certs expire one year from date of issue, unless they are revoked earlier. So, I suppose the big question to everyone else out there that is having trouble with using their .Mac issued certificates is "When did yours get renewed?".
I'm suspecting at this point that somewhere around the end of June the certificates issued by Apple for iChat signing suddenly stopped having the "Purpose" of mail protection. It would also seem that they suddenly stopped having the purpose of .Mac Identity.
Now I'm curious why Apple would do this, make it actually relatively easy to create a cert that could be used for iChat and Mail encryption, then suddenly take it away. Is this actually what has happened here?
I'd be really interested in seeing what the renewal dates are and the corresponding "Purposes" are for many of the folks that are reporting trouble with this very issue.

Modify installation procedure for AIR apps with new certificates?

Hey all,
My company just got a signed certificate for the AIR application I've been working on. Unfortunately, when users try to install this new version, they get the following error message now:
I understand why this is: The application doesn't recognize the one with the old certificate and won't forcibly override it.

My boss wants me to find a way to make the transition between certificates seamless (ie. just reinstall over the old one as if they both had the same certificate - no uninstall, no save to new location, no unusual tasks for the users). Is this possible? If so, how? I know it's a heck of a question to ask

You should never let your certificate expire before renewing it or getting a new one.
Did you get a new certificate or renew the old one?
If new, then your users must uninstall the old version and then install your new version. Any data your apps stores in the EncryptedLocalStore will be inaccessible. Any files your application has stored in the application storage directory will have to be copied to the new storage directory by the updated app.
If you renewed the certificate, then presumably you are getting this error because the Certificate Authority has changed their own certificates used to sign their issued certs. If this is the case, they might (for some thousands of dollars) be willing to perform a key ceremony to bring the old certificate out of retirement and reissue your new certificate so that it has the same identity as the old one.

Problem Signing Email with Digital Certificate from Smart Card, Outlook 2013

Hi there, I'm the IT guy for a small company. I've configured several people in the company to use their smart cards for email signing through Outlook 2013, but a a few computers are giving me this error:
"Microsoft Outlook cannot sign or encrypt this message because there are no certificates which can be used to send from the e-mail address '<e-mail address>'. Either get a new digital ID to use with this account, or use the Accounts button to
send the message using an account that you have certificates for."
I've been in the Trust Center, I see the signing and encrypting certificates. (SHA-1 and 3DES). Yet when I try to sign, Outlook always fails on the error.
For my computer, I was able to fix this by adding a "SupressNameChecks" DWORD set to 1 in the Registry under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook. However, this fix is not working for the other people in the company.
Any other ideas? Really pulling my hair out on this one, I've tried everything I could find on the net it seems.

Please checked “E-mail name” under the section ‘Include this information in alternate subject name” on the Subject Name tab of the certificate template.

Enterprise signed app not loading correctly on iPad

I am testing my app using the Enterprise signed app option, but when the app loads on the iPad, it grays out. Tapping the app doesn't launch it. Just says "Installing..." but nothing happens. I have tried creating a simple test app with Xcode using the same bundle identifier as the mobile provision and that app runs on the iPad. This leads me to believe there is an issue with DPS App Builder and Enterprise Signed Apps.
Using this feature worked before, but seems to have stopped with this version of DPS App Builder. Any ideas?

I want to have a enterprised signed app where you don´t have the possibility to create a developer .ipa. You can only create an Enterprise .ipa file.
The mobileprovision file is correct, because it works also at the "non-enterprised-signed app" and the certificate is also valid.

Open Sysem Preferences from your Apple () menu top left in your screen then select the Firewall tab.
Make sure the Firewall is turned off.

If you had Firefox save your Yahoo password, first try deleting that here:

The "signed out" message seems to be related to how Yahoo authenticates you. Some users have reported that disabling automatic proxy detection solves the problem, and it also resolves an issue of getting logged out every few minutes, if you have ever experienced that.
To make the change:

On the "Network" mini-tab, click the "Settings" button, then choose "No Proxy" and OK your way back out.
If your work connection requires you to use a proxy server, try the "Use system settings" option instead.

The same certificate used to previously sign your current live app should also be used to sign the updated APK you are trying to send to Google play. Looks like you have used a different certificate this time which is why you are getting the error.
You should look for the correct cert on your machine, must be lying out there somewhere. Else if you think you've lost/deleted the cert, there's no way the existing app can be updated. Instead your app has to be uploaded as a new app.
Advise: Always backup your Android .p12 or .keystore certificates somewhere up in the cloud ;-)

- Apps are locked to the account that purchased them. Thus it appears that yor sone purchased the app.
- To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.

i just opened my ipad, started my apple account/I.D. and realized I put the wrong e mail. I was having trouble correcting my I.D on the Ipad so I went to my laptop and make the proper changes/slash e mail address I wanted for my apple ID. whichever app store you are connecting to, hyou need a credit card with an address in that country. Also, itunes gift cards must be in local currency too.

1. It is never a good idea to include personal info like your email address or Apple ID in a post on an open forum.
2. The email you received DOES NOT say your Apple ID cannot be used to unlock this iPad. The email informs you that your Apple ID was used to unlock an iPad. Fortunately the iPad is yours. The message confirms that. If your Apple ID was used to unlock an iPad that was not yours your would then know to change your password. Since the iPad is yours you do not need to change your password.

My wife an i have separate Apple id - our iMac iTunes is set up with my Apple id. When i try sinc her iPhone I sign in with her Apple id but it does not show her apps but mine still. Is there any way of having two Apple id on one computer iTunes

I sign out and sign in with her Apple ID and i still see all of my apps and music and not hers.

No, you will not loose anything. However, if you ever need to update any of that previously purchased content, or re-download it, you will have to use the older AppleID. Purchases are permanently tied to the AppleID you use when making the purchase.
