Silent Installations using MDT2013..
Hi,
I'm currently running MDT2013 and trying to silently install 3rd Party Applications. (Such as Adobe Reader 11.0.10, Quicktime 7.7.6)
This is the following command that i'm trying to use to install Adobe silently.
"AdbeRdr11010_en_US.exe /sAll /rs /I /msi"/qb-! /norestart ALLUSERS=1 EULA_ACCEPT=YES SUPPRESS_APP_LAUNCH=YES""
Unfortunately this doesn't seem to work for me and everywhere i've looked seems to give me the same string of commands to try.
If someone could advise me on where it is I’m going wrong, that'd be lovely.
Craig.
Downloaded the "Adobe Customization Wizard XI", then open it, make some pretty basic settings changes (like: Supress EULA, reboot, create shortcuts etc).. then save the TRANSFORM file, move it into the same directory as the software folder (C:\Deployment
Share\Applications\Adobe....). Then apply the command to match your file name (keep it simple) and then added the Quiet Install Command line;
msiexec /i AcroRead.msi TRANSFORMS="AcroRead.mst" /q and that's it

I’m creating a silent installer for my LabWINDOWS CVI apps and I’m installing LabVIEW RTE 8.2.1 (for DataSockets) and CVI RTE 8.0.1.
If I use the self extracting *.zip files and manually install the above RTE’s everything is fine with no problems. However I want to create an installer exe and install the RTE’s silently. My problem is that when I execute the CVIRTE.msi (either silently or manually) the respective CVIRTE.dll, MESA.dll etc are not installed.
I’m expecting the CVI *.dll’s to be in the system dir – is this output path correct for the msi file?
I’ve also searched the C:\Program Files\National Instruments\... for the dll’s to no avail?
I’m I missing some other CVI msi file to execute in order to install the respecting dll’s?
Notes:
I’m executing the msi file on a XP pro SP2 machine with Administrative rights.
I haven’t got around to installing and testing the lv82runtime.msi yet (LabVIEW RTE 8.2.1), which I need for DataSockets. Can you pre-empt any issues, like the above, I may have regarding any respective dll’s etc for DataSockets?Sorry I posted it in the wrong forum - now also in LabWINDOWS/CVI

Silent Installs using spec files
I want to deploy LV 8.2, CVI, Signal Express, and the toolkits. Can't use AD Group Policies because the NI MSI files are not true MSI files.
I have worked out a batch file to silently install however in the spec files I put in the userinfo section the following:
[UserInfo]
Name=John Doe
Company=ACME Inc..
SerialNo=99999999
Since I have to deploy this to several people as well as serveral debug machines how do I handle the different user information? On something like a silent install of MS Office you can leave this information blank and it will prompt you for the registration on the first run. Is there something similar in LV or do I have to create spec files for every user?Here is the batch file for installing LV 8.2, CVI, Toolkits, and Drivers (ignore the hyperlink format). Notice that some of these don't use spec files as command line parameters and some do. There are three different sets of command line switches for these items as well. Some of the toolkits just don't install silently. This one developers suite uses 4 different methods of installation.
I really don't think that an easy install is to much to ask for a program that costs $4000 per seat and $1000 per year.
(BTW, in this version of the bat file I used /passive so I can see what is causing some issues, normally it would be /quiet)

ORACLE 11g silent installation
Guys,
I tried silent installation using ORACLE 11.2.0.2 on ORACLE ENTERPRISE LINUX 5.
./runInstaller -silent -response "/vm/db_install.rsp"
getting error as below...
usage:
-silent
For silent mode operations, the inputs can be a response file or a list of command line variable value pairs.
-waitforcompletion
For windows. setup.exe will wait for completion instead of spawning the java engine and exiting.
-suppressPreCopyScript
Suppress the execution of precopy script.
-acceptUntrustedCertificates
Accept untrusted certificates from a secure site.
-noconfig
Do not execute config tools.
-noconsole
For suppressing display of messages to console. Console is not allocated.
-formCluster
To install the Oracle clusterware in order to form the cluster.
-remotecp <Path>
Unix specific option. Used only for cluster installs, specifies the path to the remote copy program on the local cluster node.
-remoteshell <Path>
Unix specific option. Used only for cluster installs, specifies the path to the remote shell program on the local cluster node.
-executePrereqs
To execute only the prerequisite checks.
-ignorePrereq
To ignore running the prerequisite checks.
-ignoreInternalDriverError
To ignore any internal driver errors.
Command Line Variables Usage
Command line variables are specified using <name=value>; for example:
*[ session: | compName: | compName:version: ]variableName=" valueOfVariable"]*
Session/Installer variables are specified using:
*[session:]varName=value*
Ex 1: session:ORACLE_HOME_NAME="OraHome"
Ex 2: ORACLE_HOME_NAME="OraHome"
The lookup order is session:varName then just varName. The session prefix is used to avoid ambiguity.
Component variables are specified using:
*[compInternalName:[Version:]]varName*
Ex 1: oracle.comp1:1.0.1:varName="VarValue"
Ex 2: oracle.comp1:varName="VarValue"
The lookup order is compInternalName:Version:varName, then compInternalName:varName, then just varName
Please guide me proper installation of oracle silent mode..

Integration 10g silent installation will not install WebLogic Workshop
Hello,
I am attempting a silent installation, using wli10gR3_win32.exe. I have created a silent.xml using the information on this page: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13214_01/wli/docs85/install/silent.html.
I have used that page in the past to successfully create silent installations for versions 8 and 9 of Weblogic, but for version 10g it is not quite working as advertised. I have not found instructions for a silent installation for 10g.
My silent.xml file contains the following line:
<data-value name="COMPONENT_PATHS" value="WebLogic Server|WebLogic Workshop|WebLogic Integration|WebLogic Portal" />
When I run the package with this line, an error is produced in the log file stating that WebLogic Workshop cannot be found.
When I remove the WebLogic Workshop part of the line then Server, Integration, and Portal all install without errors. Unfortunately, Workshop was requested as well.
When I run the installation manually, I am offered Workshop as one of the products.
If somebody can point me to the correct installation documentation or provide the correct syntax for the silent.xml file that would be swell.
thanks.Hi,
I had faced the same issue today, So I had removed workshop and the installation was successful. But the weird thing is after the installation I could see the "workshop" was installed under BEA_HOME.
Did any one face the same issue?
Thanks.

IM version 8u1-01.03 and silent installation problem
Hi,
I want to install IM version 8u1-01.03 using a silent installation and my problem is this:
- In order to use Access Manager as a policy repository, the docs recommend to run IM as root so my silent config file has those parameters:
SRO.userId="root"
SRO.groupId="other"
But when the install finished, my config file (iim.conf) has:
iim.user = "inetuser"
iim.group = "inetgroup"
This only happens with silent install because if I use interactive installation and define the values:
Runtime User ID: [inetuser]:root
Runtime Group ID: [inetgroup]:other
The iim.conf will have the correct values (root/other)
At first, thought that I was missing a parameter in the silent configuration file but I ran the interactive configuration tool (/opt/sun/comms/im/sbin/configure --savestate /tmp/im2.conf) and define root/other as user/group values and works fine. After that, I erase the /etc/opt/SUNWiim directory and re-run a silent installation using the same file:
configure novalidate nodisplay noconsole silent /tmp/im2.conf
And it not work, the user/group parameters had inetuser/inetgroup values.
Any idea? Am I missing something?
Thanks in advanced.ofonseca wrote:

I've added your comments to the bug however, I would still recommend logging a sun support case to get this issue escalated for a fix.

Adobe Air application installation using the bundled runtime installer
Hello.
We plan to develop application for different platforms with Adobe Air and testing installing Air applications with bundled runtime installer on different platforms. It's ok with Windows and Mac OS, but we got troubles with "silent" installation on Ubuntu OS 9.10.
I tried to install Adobe Air application with bundled runtime, like in this document in part "Silent installation":
http://help.adobe.com/en_US/air/redist/WS485a42d56cd19641-70d979a8124ef20a34b-8000.html
using command-line:
"sudo ./MyInstaller -silent simple-air-air-application-1.0-SNAPSHOT.air"
and installation fails. Installation log looks like this:
[setup:2306][INFO] Runtime Installer begin with version 2.6.0.19140 on Linux x86
[setup:2306][INFO] Commandline is: -silent simple-air-air-1.0-SNAPSHOT.air
[setup:2306][INFO] No installed runtime detected
[setup:2306][INFO] Invoking Application Installer for combined install

[setup:2306][ERR] Subprocess app installer failed (-1)
[setup:2306][ERR] Runtime Installer end with exit code 7
P.S. We tried do the same on Linux Mint 10. Everything's fine, application getting installed well.Thanks for the reply and solution MrSykes.
I uninstalled adobe AIR and ran a file and registry cleaner to delete any left over files and installs.
Then installed the v.15 Adobe AIR beta as recommended.
The cleaners I used (ccleaner & jv16 power tools) did find some temporary install files and remnants of the Video Alchemy install.
Tried the install again and still no installation window displays.
I'm running Windows 7 on my PC and even changed the installation file compatibility to Windows XP service pack 2 to no avail.
Funny that it installed fine on my notebook with Adobe AIR latest version running Windows 7.
I'm watching task manager as I'm attempting the install and videoalchemy.exe has some cpu usage then drops to zero activity.
Then Adobe AIR application Installer starts up then cycles to zero cpu activity.
I'm stumped on this one :-(
Thanks again for investing the time on my behalf.

Photoshop Elements 13 Silent Installation
Hi.
I am trying to do a silent installation of Photoshop Elements 13.
We can rollout single installations to specific computers with Enteo DSM (Client Management System).
When i assign an installation to a client, i have the possibility to give the serialnumber with the installationpackage as an variable.
This worked well with PSE10, PSE11 and PSE12.
But with Version 13 the installation routine changed completly. Are there any instructions to do an silent installation with PSE 13 ?
Cheers
TobiShikha,
Silent install worked great but I cant get the adobeID to serialize. I used this for PSE 12 but it's not working on 13.
adobe_prtk --tool=Serialize --leid=V7{}PhotoshopElements-EMT13-Win-GM --serial="xxxx-xx...." --adobeid="[email protected]"
Do I have the right leid? I couldn't find any information on how to get the Adobe ID working. -
Need help with a Silent Installer for Photoshop Elements 10
I can't seem to get the silent installer working. I've used the Elements 9 instructions for 10 but I still get pop-ups requesting info:
http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/silent-install-volume-license-photoshop.html
I cannot find any info at all relating specifically to Elements 10. Before I go digging into the msi with ORCA (preferable to have something I can deploy in Active Directory through GPO) I tought I'd ask here@mtarggart
Delete the blank between /UL and 1033, and it will work. :-)
@Davide M, thanks a lot for your helpful article!
mtarggart wrote:
I've tried the above command and I keep getting prompted to select an Install Language. I'm trying to install this on Windows 7 x64 Enterprise. From an elevated command prompt pointed to the directory of the Elements install files (C:\PSE 10), this is what I am typing: start /wait setup.exe /UL 1033 /V"SERIALNUMBER=xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx".
For the ones who want to use installation from a server share,
change "Setup.exe" by using \\Servername\Share\Setup.exe
and set \\Servername\Share to your Servershare.
The last thing I've been searching for was setting the right country
and stopping PSE from asking me which country I am living in.
Seems as if there was an additional switch e.g. "Country=244" for US. -
