Simple help in running java

Question

hi guys
I'm using jbuilder to develop my project nad evrything is fine. today I tried to run my java class from dos prompt but it does not work.
I can compile my java program but I can not run it. everytime I run it I get this message
java.lang.NoClassFoundError
I tried to run a simple program "hello word" but without success athough javac works fine.

You need to indicate to the java runtime where your compiled class file is found.
If you are compiling in a directory, and your java source file does NOT have a package statement, the class file will be found in the directory in which you are compiling.
To find this file, you need to set your classpath to the current directory, using a dot (.).
java -cp . myClass
// note the dot after -cpIf you DO have a package statement, such as
package myPackage;then your class file will be in a directory called myPackage.
You need to set the classpath to the parent directory (the directory that contains, as a subdirectory, myPackage).
java -cp c:\someDirectory\parentDirectory myPackage.myClassThis says, look for my classes in c:\someDirectory\parentDirectory, and my class is in the package myPackage.
