Simple java archive type deployment is invalid in Jdeveloper  9031

Hi All,
If I choose a Simple Java archive type of deployment of a jsp tag lib project in Jdeveloper the archive does not include the directory layout recursively. Ex. I get this.
c:\> jar tvf test.jar
64 Sat Jan 01 23:53:48 PST 2000 META-INF/MANIFEST.MF
1300 Sat Jan 01 23:53:48 PST 2000 META-INF/autodate.tld
5772 Sat Jan 01 23:53:48 PST 2000 test/autodate.class
Where if I do it the archiving from the comman line. i.e
c:\> jar cvf test.jar META-INF test
I get
0 Wed Feb 26 20:52:42 PST 2003 META-INF/
68 Wed Feb 26 20:52:42 PST 2003 META-INF/MANIFEST.MF
1300 Wed Feb 26 20:12:42 PST 2003 META-INF/autodate.tld
0 Wed Feb 26 20:12:42 PST 2003 test/
5772 Wed Feb 26 20:12:42 PST 2003 test/autodate.class
The latter is a valid archive that I can use for taglib deployment. The former, i.e the Jdev deployed archive does not work. The jsp does not find the tag library.
What is the archiving tool that jdeveloper uses??
Why is it different from doing a command line archive??
Is there anyway I can instruct the deployment tool to include the directory tree in the archive??
- Manish

Hi Lynn,
The Archive looks exactly the same and the jsp fails to find the tld from the classpath.
64 Fri Apr 04 13:53:48 PST 2000 META-INF/MANIFEST.MF
1300 Fri Apr 04 13:36:48 PST 2000 META-INF/autodate.tld
5772 Fri Apr 04 13:42:48 PST 2000 test/autodate.class
Note, this is a problem only when using the Tag lib autodiscovery mechanism of JSP 1.2 where the tld can exist anywhere in the classpath under META-INF and the path is not explicitly specified in the jsp.

  • How to update the file in simple java archive file on Netweaver2004s

    We have a J2EE application containing few properties file packed inside a java archive. These properties are Configuration properties which we are required to change few times after deployment.We are using SAP Visual Administrator to deploy\undeploy our application.We found out that Visual Administrator dose not support update of files packed in a simple Java Archive in Single File Update Option. It only allows updates of EJB Modules archive.
    Please let us know if there is any other way we can update a file inside a simple java archive.

  • How to Deploy a Simple Java Web service in Oracle E Business Suite Server

    Hi,
    I have created a simple Java webservice using Jdev11g.
    I am able to Test the Webservice using Jdev11g itself.
    How Can i migrate the same to Oracle E Busienss Suite( - 9iAS ) so that webservice clients connect to 9iAS instead of my local machine
    Thanks,
    Gowtam.

    Hi Sudhakar,
    If you are used to working with ant then you can very well use eclipse to deploy your web service.
    You would usually have the ant script in the source root working directory. From eclipse if you select the build file from the navigator view and right click you will see a run ant option in the pop up menu.
    Select that option and you would be able to see each targets with a checkbox select option. So define each target maybe one for wsdl2java conversion, one for compilation and one for deploying your web services. You can either make all of them run by having depends option on or you can run them individually as it takes your fancy.
    I am not sure about debugging a web service yet.
    Hope this helps

    The truth is out there? Does anyone know the URL?

    Hi Mahmoud,
    from the stack trace, it appears the error occurs at AM activation.
    Check your application is activation-safe by setting the parameter jbo.ampool.doampooling=false in your development environment.
    See "Set jbo.ampool.doampooling=false to Reproduce Problems Related to AM Passivation / Activation"
    URL: http://blogs.oracle.com/Didier/2006/11/12
    Does the error reproduces there ?
    You will then be able to diagnose the issue further, f.ex. by switching on the BC4J diagnostics, with the java option -Djbo.debugoutput=console:
    in your Project properties , in the Run/Debug panel, select a run configuration and click Edit to edit it.
    Then add the string -Djbo.debugoutput=console to the Java Options field.
    Then run your application and reproduce the error.
    You'll then probably know the VO that has the problem.
    At activation, ADF BC has to reset the bind variables, and it seems there is a problem at that time.
    What kind of bind variables do you use ?
    Positional bind variables or named bind variables ?

    Didier.

  • Web Dynpro DC witch references a simple Java DC - NoClassDefFoundError

    I need use the logic in a simple Java Project or a Standalone Proxy Project (weg.net/test/dc2) by a Java WebDynpro (weg.net/test/dc1), but when the DC 1 call the DC 2 this show a runtime error of class notfound java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: net/weg/test/Test ).
    The DC 2 is a Simple JAR, that is not possible deploy directly and it should be deployed with the Web Dynpro (DC 1). In other words, I believe the jar of DC2 should be inside the DC 1 (web dynpro).
    The public part is declared perfectly. I have tried all combination of configuration of used DCs (DC 1 has the option build time, run time and strong at moment). In properties u201Clibrary referencesu201D I added u201Cweg.net/test/dc2u201D.
    Thanks,
    Cleiton Garcia.

    Hi,
    Did you create the public part of type SDA (Can be packaged into other public parts).
    If you are testing in local server:
    Dont deploy using "DeployNewArchieve and Run".
    Deploy using "RightClick>DevelopmentComponent>Build && RightClick>DevelopmentComponent>Deploy"
    See this blog

  • Java Web Service Deployed on App server does not run

    hi,
    I created a java web service and deployed it on my Application server. When i open the enterprise manager i find my webservice there. I click on test web service and it gives me two options one with a 4443 port and other with a 7777 port. It picks up a 0.0.0.0 hostname though i deplyoed it on to a different machine.
    I choose to use the 7777 port and test the web service whrn i click invoke it give me the error
    Internal Server Error
    The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
    Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
    More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
    and when using the 4443 port it gives me the error as
    "SSL Error: unable to find valid certification path to requested target"
    please suggest how i can test a simple java webservice.
    Thanks

    I think the problem is to add the custom dll files while deploying the application. Could any one please suggest how i can add custom dll file for deployment?

  • How do I call a simple java class from a bpel process?

    Hi.
    In JDeveloper 10.1.4.3.0 I've created a simple java class that does an ftp get operation followed by an unzip. The class uses some 3rd part libraries (jars).
    I want to use a simple bpel process to schedule a daily execution of this java class, and deploy it all to our SOA-server, - and was looking into using the <bpelx:exec> function.
    The java class and the bpel process is all stored in the same JDeveloper project.
    How do I put this together so that both my java class and the necessary jars are available to the bpel process?
    I've looked into the JavaExecSample.bpel, and it's says something about "...the class com.otn.samples.javaexec.CreditCalculator is locally packaged with this BPEL process".
    How do I do that?
    Can I make it and test it all locally from my workstation (only JDeveloper installed, I guess there's nothing that can execute the bpel code?), or do I have to compile class etc (make war-file?) and deploy to SOA server (BPEL-INF/lib or classes?) before anything can be tested?
    (I guess all this is simple, once you know how, but being a newbie to this I need a shove in the right direction :-)
    Regards,
    -Haakon-

    To create a java class and dependent jars inside the BPEL process project you need to do the following:
    1. Right click on your BPEL process project and select New and then Java Class from the Items.
    2. Make the BPEL process project, JDeveloper would compile the java classes and add them into the BPEL suite case jar, see the output folder and check the BPEL suite case jar file for java classes and dependent jars.
    You can test your Java classes from JDeveloper IDE, no need to deploy the classes on SOA server. When you make the BPEL project it compiles .bpel files and Java classes. You can test your classes once .bpel file and java classes compiled successfully.

    I am not willing to wade through the code, but this portion makes me conjecture your using an Oracle connect string instead of a class name.

  • External SOAP client Accessing Webservice using built in Java Data type

    We have built a webservice and deployed it on WLS. We accessed this from a swing
    client it works fine.The webservice methods uses non-built in JAVA data types
    as parameters.These are Value Objects and the JAVA Serializer and Deserializer
    classes are generated using Ant task itself.The client coding uses Value objects
    given by the Client_jar (generated using <Clientgen> ant task) to pass to the
    webservice. We dont want to go by this way.Is there anyway were in we can pass
    parameters to the method which expects non-built in java datatypes?
    Why i am asking this is, i want to know how an external client (.Net client )
    will be able to exceute my webservice (i.e., passing the required Object which
    the method is expecting)?

    Hi Anish,
    Well first off, your web service doesn't send or receive "objects". It only sends
    and recieves XML, which is in turn converted to/from Java objects at invocation
    time. Second, a .NET (or Perl, or Python, or C++) client will be able to call
    your web service, because the wsdl.exe tool (for .NET) will generate "programming
    language specific" objects from the <types><schema> elements, in the WSDL of your
    web service :-) The wsdl.exe tool will create C# objects from the WSDL, that will
    convert XML to/from C# when your web service is called. That's the beauty of XML
    schema - it's a "universal typing system", so it's not tied to a particular programming
    language. The only issue is whether or not the web services platform vendor's
    XML Schema/WSDL processor, can successfully process the WSDL. Some vendors have
    more complete implementations of the WSDL and XML Schema specs than others, so
    expect varying success here. The one in WLS 7.0 is pretty good, so you shouldn't
    have too many problems consuming WSDL generated by .NET tools (or any other tool
    for that matter).

  • Missing Defines Error in Simple Java Stored Procedure

    Anyone have any suggestions on what might be causing the unusual behavior described below? Could it be a 10g java configuration issue? I am really stuck so I'm open to just about anything. Thanks in advance.
    I am writing a java stored procedure and am getting some SQLException's when executing some basic JDBC code from within the database. I reproduced the problem by writing a very simple java stored procedure which I have included below. The code executes just fine when executed outside of the database (10g). Here is the output from that execution:
    java.class.path=C:\Program Files\jEdit42\jedit.jar
    java.class.version=48.0
    java.home=C:\j2sdk1.4.2_04\jre

    Driver Version = 10.1.0.2.0
    column count=1

    TEST
    When I execute it on the database by calling the stored procedure I get:
    java.class.path=
    java.class.version=46.0
    java.home=/space/oracle/javavm/
    java.vendor=Oracle Corporation

    Jason,
    Works for me on Oracle 10.1.0.3 running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 3 (Taroon).
    Java code:
    import java.sql.*;
    * Oracle Java Virtual Machine (OJVM) test class.
    public class OjvmTest {
      public static void test() throws SQLException {
        Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:default:connection:");
        PreparedStatement ps = null;
        ResultSet rs = null;
        try {
          ps = conn.prepareStatement("select 'TEST' from SYS.DUAL");
          rs = ps.executeQuery();
          if (rs.next()) {
            System.out.println(rs.getString(1));
        finally {
          if (rs != null) {
            try {
              rs.close();
            catch (SQLException sqlEx) {
              System.err.println("Error ignored. Failed to close result set.");
          if (ps != null) {
            try {
              ps.close();
            catch (SQLException sqlEx) {
              System.err.println("Error ignored. Failed to close statement.");
    }And my PL/SQL wrapper:
    create or replace procedure P_J_TEST as language java
    name 'OjvmTest.test()';And here is how I execute it in a SQL*Plus session:
    set serveroutput on
    exec dbms_java.set_output(2000)
    exec p_j_testGood Luck,
    Avi.

    You may possibly modified the oc4j-ra.xml file in the stand-alone directory instead of the file under the OC4J_BPEL directory in midtier.
    Currently, we are seeing some issues with the sample in midtier. So you may like to wait for the GA release [ mid May] for trying out this sample.
    Otherwise please send a mail to [email protected], you need any early drop of this sample.
    HTH.
    Thanks,
    Rakesh
