Simple VM invocation from C++

Hello,
I have read about using Java as some kind of "scripting language" in computer games. The Game Vampire 2 uses this, and they had very positive experience with this, as told in an article on gamasutra.com.
I want to try this too. I already searched the docs and the java tutorial book. I am a bit confused, because I dont know if I can use the JNI_CreateJavaVM directly wiith linking the jvm.lib file. Or if I should load the jvm dll for myself.
At next i would like to know, if it is possible to create a JVM without all the std libe. At the moment i create it while i have jre\bin and jre\bin\client in my PATH system variable.
And. is it maybe possible to run my program even if the user doesnt have java installed (when i deliver the required dlls with my game). Or will i get any licence problems (it will be an completly non commercial project).
Thanks in advance
Dennis Kempin
Please forgive me, that my english is so bad.

I have now copied the rt.jar, java.dll, hpi.dll and
zip.dll to folders of my project. and it works great.
That shouldn't be necessary. The compiler provides a way to specify that.
>
But i wonder if i can start a java virtual machine
with nothing but the class Object (including the
dependicties of Object of course). rt.jar includes
many packages like swing, which i dont need when i
want to use the vm in my program. (sorry, i called
the runtime library std lib in my previous post).
Why would you bother?
Note that you can NOT distribute anything which you have removed pieces - the license forbids it.
And it is seldom worth the trouble. Even on downloads the download need only occur the first time.
I could extract the rt.jar and delete everything i
dont need, but i think that this would be against the
java license, right?If you intend to distribute it, it would.

    I feel like I should know the answer to this. I can't believe it is a hard question.
    What is the direct connect method for transfering photos from my macbook pro to my iphone without using iTunes syncronization? (iow: a simple photo copy from mac to iphone?)
    Easy? Right?
    Just plug my iphone in to a mac and copy a photo from the mac to my iphone.
    I don't have internet access - I can't email it, or mobileme it, or dropbox it.

    iTunes. Other than that there is no direct method. However, do try the iPhone forums.

  • Calling simple Java Code from 11g BPM

    Hi,
    I know this has been round the houses but I cant find a satisfactory solution for my scenario. I would like to call some simple java code from BPM (11.1.1.6). I guess I need to expose it as a service but it seems overkill to be via soap so any advice you can give would be much appreciated. Creating a jar that I can call somehow would be perfect.
    This is my scenario:
    - I am creating a Security POC for BPM
    - The BPM Process is exposed as a web service and authenticated using SAML
    - I am testing by calling the WS from OSB
    - I want to be able to get the WLS Principal and display the username and the roles for the launching user, from within the BPM process
    - This is possible using some simple weblogic client api code shown below
    - So all I want to do is call this code from BPM somehow
    - Anyone point me in the right direction ?
    cheers
    Tony
    subject = Security.getCurrentSubject();
    for(Principal p: subject.getPrincipals()) {
    if(p instanceof WLSGroupImpl) {
    groupList.add(p.getName());
    } else if (p instanceof WLSUser) {
    principal = p.getName();
    }

    The problem to communiate java classes and forms solved !

    I can create an object, i can get simple message from class, but when i try to create

    Hi Dragan,
    First of all we need to put some debug (System.out.println) to findout exactly which object reference is actually becoming NULL. From there only we can start diagnosis on this issue. that's the root. It should be very easy for your Developers to put some debug on that...because the NullPointerException is being thrown by your code...I m not Blaming on your Code... WLS may be responsible for that...but first of all we need to find out Which Object is becoming NULL.
    Thanks

    Pls let me know if anyone know the root cause and i am new to EJB too. So pls help if anyone know better solution for this

    Yes exactly..Let me explain clearly. assume its deployed now and user started using that particular module. It works fine. Later point time like after few days or after few simultenous navigation of that particular ejb jndi object from the application, this exception comes. So for the short time fix, i restart the server and it will work fine and then after few hours/days , this exception comes and i need to restart again. So i need a permanent solution to avoid this issue.

  • Asynchronous Web Service Request-Reply Invocation from Service Control

    Hi all
    I need to invoke a reliable web service call using a Service Control. when trying to make that invocation for an operation that returns data. It gives the following exception. For the methods that marked with @Oneway() annotation in the service implementation, it works.
    javax.xml.rpc.JAXRPCException: Reliable messaging will only work with one way messages or asynchronous request/response messages.

  • RESTful webservices invocation from OSB.

    Can some one please explain the best way to develop the OSB service to invoke the Restful services.
    1. Only proxy service is enough to handle the request, no need of business service?
    2. when moving the code from one env to other, we use a business service to update endpoint url which is the common approach we generally follow, to make the osb service loosely coupled. how to use the business service when invoking the restservice? does we have the base uri value in the transport url and will get appended with the relative-uri value which we frame as part of the request in the outbound variable in the proxy settings?
    3. when invoking the rest service do we need to append all the request message to the url itself or the request can be passed separately as request body and the main rest uri will have only the key fields as part of the relative-uri?
    4. If we receive huge request message does the URL support the entire request?
    5. how the response/error will be returned when calling the Restful webservice?
    I am assuming this appraoch. Can some one please confirm does this approach works with RESTful service invocation from OSB.
    Request processing:
    Source System request-> Proxy Service -> Transformation to end system specific -> Business service (with base-uri -> http://mainappl.com/web/cmr/{relative-uri from outbound transport}) -> endsystem
    Response processing:
    endsystem Response/Error -> Business Service -> Proxy Service -> transformation to source system specific -> source system.
    Please advice which is the best approach to follow while invoking the RESTful webservices from OSB.
    Thanks..

    Hi,
    Thanks for the update. Can you please explain the above mentioned approach works or how it should be?
    I have one requirement, can some one explain the implementation for this:
    I have one element which is of type unbound. I need to map this element to a single enelement value by separating each element value with a ;, before that I need to check wheteher this element(s) are present in the request then need to appened all these element values to a single element and the end of this element need to append default values.
    Scenario:
    <student>
    <name>asd</name>
    <address>
    <street>street1</street>
    <street>street2</street>
    <street>street3</street>
    ||
    ||
    </address>
    to be mapped it to:
    <student>
    <field name="NAME">asd</field>
    <field name="ADDRESS">street1;street2;street3;default1;default2;default3</field>
    </student>
    Here need to check if street names are present in the request xml, if yes ned to assign it to ADDRESS as mentioned above if street names present or not need to append the default values at the end to the ADDRESS field.
    Thanks in advance.

    I am in the process of doing a Proof Of Concept / Evaluating products that can help us build a Java Application to Convert a PDF document to a Searchable PDF.
    I wanted to check is there any simple JAVA API from Adobe to achive this ? Any direction in this regard is greatly appreciated.@

    You can achieve this using LiveCycle PDF Generator JAVA API. You can find required code here:
    Adobe LiveCycle * Quick Start (SOAP mode): Converting a Microsoft Word document to a PDF document using the Java API
    In parameters:
    //Set createPDF2 parameter values
    String adobePDFSettings = "Standard";
    String securitySettings = "No Security";
    String fileTypeSettings = "Standard OCR";
    "Standard OCR" file type setting will run OCR on input pdf. In the code, instead of doc file provide a pdf file. Resultant pdf will be searchable PDF i.e OCRed PDF.
    Feel feel to ask any further questions.

    Looks like the error is in the data sent to or expected from the service in your composite. Check that audit logs and composite flow to make sure your soap message when using soapui matches what you are working with in soa suite.

  • How do I call a simple java class from a bpel process?

    Hi.
    In JDeveloper 10.1.4.3.0 I've created a simple java class that does an ftp get operation followed by an unzip. The class uses some 3rd part libraries (jars).
    I want to use a simple bpel process to schedule a daily execution of this java class, and deploy it all to our SOA-server, - and was looking into using the <bpelx:exec> function.
    The java class and the bpel process is all stored in the same JDeveloper project.
    How do I put this together so that both my java class and the necessary jars are available to the bpel process?
    I've looked into the JavaExecSample.bpel, and it's says something about "...the class com.otn.samples.javaexec.CreditCalculator is locally packaged with this BPEL process".
    How do I do that?
    Can I make it and test it all locally from my workstation (only JDeveloper installed, I guess there's nothing that can execute the bpel code?), or do I have to compile class etc (make war-file?) and deploy to SOA server (BPEL-INF/lib or classes?) before anything can be tested?
    (I guess all this is simple, once you know how, but being a newbie to this I need a shove in the right direction :-)
    Regards,
    -Haakon-

    To create a java class and dependent jars inside the BPEL process project you need to do the following:
    1. Right click on your BPEL process project and select New and then Java Class from the Items.
    2. Make the BPEL process project, JDeveloper would compile the java classes and add them into the BPEL suite case jar, see the output folder and check the BPEL suite case jar file for java classes and dependent jars.
    You can test your Java classes from JDeveloper IDE, no need to deploy the classes on SOA server. When you make the BPEL project it compiles .bpel files and Java classes. You can test your classes once .bpel file and java classes compiled successfully.

  • Iam not able to run a simple batch file from within java

    This is how my code looks like.
    It does'nt give me any error but I dont see the output from batch file which is suposed to be a simple redirection of dir command...
    package mypackage1;
    import java.io.File;
    public class RunBatch
    public RunBatch()
    try{
    Runtime rt = Runtime.getRuntime();
    String cmd = "generate_invoice";
    String path = "C:\\application\\Maps\\Reports";
    File file = new File(path);
    String[] envp = {""};
    String[] args = {"C:\\application\\Maps\\Reports\\generate_invoice.bat"};
    System.out.println("************ executing batch ");
    Process proc = rt.exec(args);
    System.out.println("************ batch executed ");
    }catch(Exception e)
    e.printStackTrace();
    * @param args
    public static void main(String[] args)
    RunBatch runBatch = new RunBatch();
    }

    Runtime.exec() only can run executable files. Batch file is not an executable - it is a script executed by command interpreter (cmd.exe). So, you should execute "c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe /c C:\application\Maps\Reports\generate_invoice.bat".

  • Errors in direct binding invocation from BPEL to OSB

    Hi All,
    I have a problem in direct binding invocations between BPEL instances and OSB, this is the detail:
    There is in my composite a BPEL process that includes a catchAll component to manage all the faults resulting in the OSB invoke action and there is a fault policy too configured to manage the retry invocations. If the flow ends successfully there is no problem but if an error happens in the OSB part (time outs, bad address configuration in reference bindings details or something similar) the composite doesn't catch anything and retries aren't executed. The BPEL instance keeps in "running with errors" state from this moment.
    Any help about the management of this situation would be appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Hi All,
    I have a problem in direct binding invocations between BPEL instances and OSB, this is the detail:
    There is in my composite a BPEL process that includes a catchAll component to manage all the faults resulting in the OSB invoke action and there is a fault policy too configured to manage the retry invocations. If the flow ends successfully there is no problem but if an error happens in the OSB part (time outs, bad address configuration in reference bindings details or something similar) the composite doesn't catch anything and retries aren't executed. The BPEL instance keeps in "running with errors" state from this moment.
    Any help about the management of this situation would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
