However, when using my Lotus Notes e-mail account (through the University of Dayton), I immediately was unable to open e-mail attachments (both new e-mails and older, saved e-mails with attachments that had previously been opened. The word "attachment" appears at the end of the message (in light grey), but does not respond to the cursor. I have delayed working on this problem, because if I open Internet Explorer instead of Firefox, my Lotus Notes account will allow me to view new and past attachments. You will have to close firefox.exe with the Windows Task Manager from the "Processes" tab of the WTM since you don't have a widow to close.
The best way to close Firefox is through File > Exit, for those who stuck with the "Firefox" button click on the Firefox button then Exit. It is not perfect but it is a lot better than just closing the window with the "X" in the upper right corner -

Since downloading Firefox 4, I am having problems archiving gmail conversations from my inbox view (either one or several conversations) as it says "No Conversations Selected" when I have selected one or several. Also, when I go to enter a new event in google calendar, I have to click the cursor in the box to type the event (it used to let me just start typing) or else it flips out and starts jumping to day view or another month. Does anyone know how to fix either of these?

I downloaded Firefox 4.0 and it says to re-install the toolbar but I have not been successful in doing so. I went to the forums and tried all the suggested fixes but none worked. Can I go back to the older version? I had no trouble with that and I do not like this new version at all. I tried a system restore twice and it did not fix the problem.
I would imagine it's the MyWay Searchbar which is classified by most anti-malware scanners as adware, or even worse as spyware. I say that because I see "SmileyCentral" in your list of plugins and that's an add-on for that particular toolbar. You can disable that via Tools | Add-ons | Plugins.
There are a number of toolbars which won't work with Firefox 4 anymore due to the enhanced protection mechanisms in the browser.
Mozilla recommends that you only install add-ons from its own security site @ https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/?browse=featured Generally speaking, those have all been tested and approved. The exceptions are those currently under review which are marked with a yellow banner to warn users that they haven't passed Mozilla's labs yet. -

You could change your iTunes account such that they cannot access it in order to buy or download apps. -
