Single-folio apps with Pro subscription

Hello,
Are there any limitations for publishing single-folio apps using Pro subscription? Can I publish unlimited number of single-folio apps then? If no, what could it cost?
Thanks a lot!

You can create an unlimited number of apps with a Pro subscription.

  • I've a Single Folio app with 1526 articles. Its there a maximum number for articles per Folio?

Helo! I've created a Single Folio app with 1526 articles.
It works in the generic Adobe Content Viewer, but does not work on my custom App.
    It shutdowns after splash window.
    Could someone help me?
    Elismar

Changing settings? What part of setting?
My guess is that if you have so many articles, and each article need some particular files in the .folio file, then the Viewer make a mistake trying load all files in the same moment, causing auto shutdown. And, I'm using the iPad 3 to test it.
So, would be fine if someone could give me numbers about the maximum number of articles suggested to put in a Folio Issue.
And yes, I'm publishing the Bible!

  • Single folio app with DPS PRO

I have a dps Pro account.
I would like to create a single folio app for iOS( iPad-iphone) and android devices that it will be free of charge.
i know that single folio app can be created for iOS and in that case there is charge for folio fulfillment. Is that correct?
For android version can i create a single folio app?As i have see i think that this is not possible. Is that correct? In that case is there anything else that i could do?For example if i create a multi folio app and i upload only one folio will this work?In that case does the charge for folio fulfillment exist?

Single edition apps are iPad only and do not incur a download charge. For Android you need to create a multifolio app even if it will contain only a single folio.

  • Multifolio app with iTunes Subscription - What is supposed to happen

OK so I have built an iOS multi folio app with iTunes Subscription and downloaded the developer app for testing.
I load and launch the app on my iPad and am presented with:
    1. the subscription banner
    2. The latest folio with two buttons (Free) and (Subscribe)
    3. All other folios in a grid below with a (Free) button.
When I tap either the banner or the (Subscribe) button I see the Purchasing Subscription title appear for a few seconds and then the title reverts to the name of the viewer app.
The Subscribe banner and button are still there. Is that the behaviour I should be expecting? If not what should I expect to happen?
Thanks for any advice you can offer.
    Mark

    Hi Mark,
this is related to Help needed updating my multi-folio newsstand app for iOS
When testing an iOS app for subscriptions, your should:
    - Log out of the App store
    - Make sure you are creating a test user in iTunes Connect to be able to test in the SandBox environment (with ipa)
    - Open your App and tap the subscription, it will ask you if you want to subscribe and also will ask that you log in with an existing Apple ID (that should be your test account)
    - If all is set up properly and working, you will get a confirmation and the banner should go away
As I mentioned, make sure you are referencing the product ID of the subscription itself.

  • Kindle single-folio apps?

Is it still not possible to build single-folio apps for Kindle? (And Android in general?)
I'm assuming that hasn't changed but haven't paid attention. If not possible, is it on the horizon? (Is it a Kindle Store issue, or a viewer builder issue? Assuming the former.)
    thanks

  • Single Folio App

I currently have a "single-folio app" for the iPhone 3GS. It was created with AppMakr and I want to move this process to the DPS system and expand into the iPad and iPhone versions SD and HD... The App is live and out of date with Apple...
    1. Do I need to create 2 separate builds in the DPS App Builder - one for the iPhone, one for the iPad ??
    2. Can I have all these renditions exist under the same app within Apple ??
This app will be portrait only. From a design perspective, how are my inDesign CS6 files structured... ??
I am used to building multi-folio with subscription apps...
    Thanks

DPS doesn't support single-folio apps for the iPhone. If you want to create DPS content for the iPhone, you need to create a multi-folio app. When you click Create in DPS App Builder, you specify iOS and select both iPhone and iPad. You create folio renditions for the iPad and iPhone. See this article:

  • Omniture Analytics in Single Folio Apps

    Hello,
I have a question about the newest release notes for yesterday's producer tools update. There it is noted that Analytics are now available in single folio apps.
But building folios has nothing to do with the producer tools, it is part of the viewer builder, right?
Does that mean v14 (Viewer 1.9.x) viewers already include analytics in single-folio viewers?
or does that come with v15 (viewer 1.10)?
    —Johannes

    @ Bob, all:
We are submitting a single issue app to Apple this weekend, and I'd love to include this functionality, so I have 2 questions:
Q1 - Is this new  viewer builder release you mentioned for this week still on track, so waiting to submit to Apple until the weekend is worthwhile?
Q2 - Other than simply using the new viewer builder, is here anything I need to activate RE Omniture, any data or info I need to submit to our Adobe Solution Provider to set this up?
    Many Thanks, Juergen

  • Single Folio App pricing question

I am a CC member/subscriber. I know I can create as many Single Folio apps as I want, but ...
    1) Do I still need to pay $395 per app in order to have the apps published to the Apple App Store?
    2) Am I able to use my own CC subscription to create Single Folio apps for my clients or must they purchase their own Single Edition plan?

    1. As long as you have a full CC account and not a single app the Single Edition apps are included. There's no additional charge from Adobe.
    2. Yes, but I would strongly recommend that they have their own Apple developer account.

  • Password protect single folio app

Is there a way to password protect a single folio app on the Apple app store?
We would like for the user to be required to put in a username and password the first time they open the app.
We do not have an enterprise account. Is this possible?

It is not possible with a single edition app, and is only possible in the enterprise edition if you develop a custom storefront.

  • Maximum folio-size (single-folio apps)

    Hello,
I am searching for the maximum folio-size of single-folio apps.
Can someone help me in this case?
    Thank you in advance!
    Regards,
    Sebastian

I think it's around 2 GB, however it's best if you keep it less than 700-800 MB.

  • Single folio app iPad I, II and III

I am making a single folio app for iPad. I am wondering what the recommended settings are for InDesign documents and the Folio Builder?
Should it be 1024 x 768 and PDF?

    Yes.

  • Single Folio Apps:  No Bookmarks and Social Sharing

I was just reading on DPS Help that Single Folio Apps don't support Bookmarks or Social Sharing.  Does that mean that if I have Bookmarks linking to pages within my folio, they won't work?  I know it looks like my question is answered in first statement, but I'm really hoping I'm not understanding something.
I have Hyperlinks in my TOC linking to bookmarks in the folio.
I don't know what Social Sharing exaclty is, so I don't think it'll affect me.
    Thanks

The term "bookmarks" means two different things in InDesign/DPS. There is the bookmarks feature in InDesign that links to other parts of the document when you view a PDF document, and there is the bookmarks feature in DPS in which you can add your favorite articles to the list of favorites. The PDF bookmarks aren't supported in DPS. The DPS bookmarks ("favorites") feature is supported. Here's a description.
BookmarksIf you enable bookmarks in Viewer Builder, customers can mark an article as a bookmark and then choose that bookmark from a drop-down menu in the nav bar to jump to the bookmarked article. Bookmarks work across multiple folios within the same viewer app.
The Social Sharing feature is the ability to use social media to share articles through facebook, twitter, or email so that they can be read on a computer or a device. You can read about it here: http://helpx.adobe.com/digital-publishing-suite/help/using-social-sharing.html
When you say that you have hyperlinks in your TOC linking to bookmarks in the folio, what kind of bookmark are you referring to?

  • How to migrate single folio app into multi folio app when each were created w/ different adobe id

I have a single folio app in iTunes that was created using adobe ID "A". I also have a multi folio app in iTunes that was created using adboe ID "B".  How do I migrate the single folio app into the new multi folio app, ensuring that apple sees it as an update so users of the single folio app are notified of an update. Both apps were published using the same apple distribution id. Step-by-step help would be greately appreciated.

In your case, I would create a multi-folio version of the app and then use iTunes Connect to submit it as an update to the previous version of the app. When users update the app, they'll lose the folio that was previously baked into the app, but they can download that folio—and others—from the library of the new version. You'll want to make those folios available in Adobe ID 'B', which should be the Title ID you use when you build the app. I think all you need to do for your existing customers is describe the change to the app in the update description in iTunes Connect.

  • Single Apps with Pro Edition

    Hi there,
I need a quick answer to this!
Building/publishing a Single App with a Professional Edition account, makes it possible to update this Single App from time to time?
And how about the Single Apps made with CCM account? Are they "editable"?
    Thank you

Sorry, I just found it on the Companion Guide:
"if you enable the Apple Push notification service (APn) for your viewer app using the Adobe service, you can indicate to your customers when a new or updated folio is available. in non-newsstand apps, the app icon displays a red badge that indicates the number of new or updated issues. "
So, I think it answers my question regarding Multi-folios. But still, I suppose yes, but I need to be sure: do Single Apps built in Pro Editions works the same?

  • Update an Single edition app with different (pro) account

    Hello,
I have question regarding updating SE apps.
    1. From what I understand you can still create single edition apps for ipads after May 1st with a pro account, correct?
    2. If I create an app now, with my CC account, can I later, after May 1st, create a professional account under a different name (company name, not mine) and update my old app? (assuming that my apple account and certificates stays the same)
    Thank you
    Alex

    1. Yes.
    2. Yes.
