Single selection choice only returning 25 items

JDeveloper 11.1.1.3.0
I have a single selection choice component being populated by a view object. When I run the app only 25 objects are returned in the dropdown. I have modified the tuning settings on the view object and have successful limited the results to less than 25, but never greater than 25.
I have tested the view object in the AppModule and the expected number of results are returned
I have tried various combinations of "All Rows";"Only Up to row number";"In Batches of";"As Needed"; "All at Once" as tuning parameters and have yet to return greater than 25
I have searched this form and internet, seems like an easy fix.
Any thoughts?

The iterator’ s RangeSize attribute defines the number of records ADFm requests from the ADF BC layer simultaneously.
By default the RangeSize attribute is automatically set to 25 records when the iterator is created.
In order to reduce the number of round-trips between the model and BC layers to one (optimum behavior) Oracle recommends setting the RangeSize value to the number of records to be displayed in the UI simultaneously for the view object.http://www.gebs.ro/blog/oracle/adf-view-object-performance-tuning-analysis/
A range size of -1 will retrieve all rows at once from ADF BC layer. If you have a lot of rows this might be a performance constraint

  • Lookup column only return 201 items from external list

    I have a BCS external list which contains about 700 items. I already set the BCS Throttle limit to 50000 items (default) and 1000000 (max). I can view all 700 items in the external list.
    I created a regular lookup column in a custom list to lookup the external list. When I click the drop-down, it only returns the first 201 items with a red message "Warning: Too many results have
    been returned. This result set may be incomplete or truncated.". I need all items available for selection so set up a filer will not work for me.
    I just wonder if there is any work around for the issue. Many thanks.

    This is unfortunately the default behavior with external content type. The limit is set at 201.  You can however avoid this by setting appropriate filters to limit the number of results to less than 200. The user can use wildcards in their filter to
    more fine tune the results returned.
    Read more on how to set filters on external content type here:

    Hi,
    I am using hyperion 9.3.0 , i have written a HBR , but the problem is that the launch varaibles are giving multiple select option , how can i restrict the launch variable to have a single select option only.the launch varaibles are global varaibles. do i need to do some changes in the global varaible or the HBR and what changes would be required.thanks in advance.

    Maybe you have set the variable to be members instead of type member.

  • GetSelectedRowKeys() returns more than one on Single Selection Tree Table

    Hi,
    I found that this issue occurring after PS3 (I think.)
    I have a tree table component, which allows single row selection. There is a listener on a column of the tree table as follows:
    public void listenPackageUnit(ValueChangeEvent valueChangeEvent)
    Object oldKey = getTreeComponent().getRowKey();
    try
    * Retrieve index of selected package unit
    * NOTE: Subtract 1 to remove no selection value. This only
    * needs to be done if attached LOV has No Selection option set.
    if (valueChangeEvent.getNewValue() != null)
    Row row = null;
    String selectedPackageUnit = null;
    int packageUnitIndex = (Integer) valueChangeEvent.getNewValue();
    packageUnitIndex--;
    * Due to the no selection item, we need to prevent search of regular
    * iterator if index is < 0. In this case we know the user selected
    * the no selection (blank) value.
    if (packageUnitIndex >= 0)
    * Using index, determine the value of the selected package unit
    DCIteratorBinding packageUnitsIterator =
    (DCIteratorBinding) PasUiADFUtil.resolveExpression("#{bindings.PackageUnitsIterator}");
    Row newRow =
    packageUnitsIterator.getRowAtRangeIndex(packageUnitIndex);
    selectedPackageUnit = (String) newRow.getAttribute("LookupCode");
    RowKeySet selection = this.getTreeComponent().getSelectedRowKeys();
    if (selection != null && selection.getSize() > 0)
    for (Object facesTreeRowKey: selection)
    this.getTreeComponent().setRowKey(facesTreeRowKey);
    JUCtrlHierNodeBinding rowData =
    (JUCtrlHierNodeBinding) this.getTreeComponent().getRowData();
    row = rowData.getRow();
    setSelectedLabel((String) row.getAttribute("Label"));
    setSelectedLabelType((String) row.getAttribute("LabelType"));
    row.setAttribute("PackageUnit", selectedPackageUnit);
    getTreeComponent().setRowKey(oldKey);
    finally
    getTreeComponent().setRowKey(oldKey);
    The issue is that getSelectedRowKeys() returns more than one when the user selects a child row in the tree table.
    It seems to be returning the total number counting from the top parent through the child.
    (For example, if the child is the second generation, it returns 2, and if the third generation, it returns 3.)
    This is causing the issue that the method tries to update the attribute of the parent row with a value for the child row. (And it fails, because the attribute is updateable only while new.)
    I remember getSelectedRowKeys() always returned one, the selected child itself, when I coded this around October, 2010.
    Is this a design change after PS3? Why does it return more than one though the tree table is for single selection?
    How can I get around this issue?
    It would be truly appreciated if we can get any quick help, since we are at final testing phase of our product.
    Thank you,
    Tomo

    Hi Vinod,
    I found the solution. Thank you very much for your suggestions. :)
    Now my listenSelection (custom listener of the tree table) looks like below:
    public void listenSelection(SelectionEvent selectionEvent)
    Row currentRow;
    PasUiADFUtil.invokeEL("#{bindings.TransactionLabelTopLevelVO1.collectionModel.makeCurrent}",
    new Class[] { SelectionEvent.class },
    new Object[] { selectionEvent });
    Object oldKey = getTreeComponent().getRowKey();
    try
    if (this.getTreeComponent() != null)
    RowKeySet rks = this.getTreeComponent().getSelectedRowKeys();
    Iterator keys = rks.iterator();
    while (keys.hasNext())
    List key = (List) keys.next();
    this.getTreeComponent().setRowKey(key);
    JUCtrlHierNodeBinding node =
    (JUCtrlHierNodeBinding) this.getTreeComponent().getRowData();
    if (node != null)
    currentRow = node.getRow();
    if (currentRow != null)
    this.setSelectedRow(currentRow);
    setSelectedLabel((String) currentRow.getAttribute("Label"));
    setSelectedLabelType((String) currentRow.getAttribute("LabelType"));
    String shippedItemFlag =
    (String) currentRow.getAttribute("ShippedItemFlagValue");
    if (shippedItemFlag != null && shippedItemFlag.equals("1"))
    setDisableAdd(true);
    else
    setDisableAdd(false);
    finally
    getTreeComponent().setRowKey(oldKey);
    /* Refresh Action menu and buttons */
    RequestContext.getCurrentInstance().addPartialTarget(this.getActionMenu());
    RequestContext.getCurrentInstance().addPartialTarget(this.getToolbar());
    And my tree table is like below:
    <af:treeTable value="#{bindings.TransactionLabelTopLevelVO1.treeModel}"
    var="node" rowSelection="single" id="tt1"
    contentDelivery="immediate" fetchSize="25"
    emptyText="#{bindings.TransactionLabelTopLevelVO1.viewable ? commonFoundationMsgBundle.NO_DATA_TO_DISPLAY : commonFoundationMsgBundle.ACCESS_DENIED}"
    selectionListener="#{pageFlowScope.MaintainTransactionSerialAssociationBean.listenSelection}"
    binding="#{pageFlowScope.MaintainTransactionSerialAssociationBean.treeComponent}"
    summary="#{maintainAssociationUiBundle.CONTAINER_SERIAL_HIERARCHY}">
    <!-- Row Header -->
    The listener is now always getting the currently selected row only.

  • Query that only returns items that will produce a result

    Thanks to Mack for his help yesterday.  I would really appreciate some help from anyone who is more SQL competent than I am.  I have an SQL problem that is just completely over my head.  I've created a nifty tagging system for the blog, that sorts by tags and by multiple tags, check out the beta here: http://committedsardine.com/blog.cfm
    When a user selects a tag, it adds it to the value list SESSION.blogTags.  If the selected tag is there already, it removes it.  When the list for tags pops up, I output all the tags, and show their state.  You'll see what I mean if you try it.
    What this leads to is the ability to select a group of tags for which there are no query results.  What I want to do is only show those that will generate results and how many results they'll show.  Like this, select "fluency" by itself there are 310 entries
    fluency (310) | digital (234) | writing (12)
    Once fluency is selected, there are 13 articles that ALSO are tagged by "digital", but none that are tagged by writing:
    fluency | digital (12) | writing
    I have a table called blogTagLinks, that is just for tying a tag to a blog.  It lists a blogID and a tagID.  Here is a sample of it for reference:

    Hi
    Are you using 'BI Query' as 'data Service'? & are you creating value help for variable? If Yes -
    Create necessary variable as 'Multiple Single Options' in your BEx query & then create value help in VC. Then it will allow multiple options or interval values.

    Nic, for me the iTunes window looks like this, when I connect my iPad 3:
    I select the iPad in the "devices" section of the Sidebar (use: "View > Show Sidebar" if the sidebar is hidden).
    Click the "Apps" tab in the "Devices" pane.
    Scroll all the way down in the Devices pane to "File Sharing" "Apps" section.
    Then do I click "GarageBand" to select the documents in the right panel.
    Which part is different for you? Perhaps you could post a screenshot?

  • Is there a way to import a choice list in multiple (or single) selection fields?

    Is there a way to import a previously created choice list in multiple (or single) selection fields in forms central?

    Hello Dr. Ryan,
    Unfortunately there is no way to move this data into FormsCentral.
    As far as your question about using PDFs with FormsCentral, 'soon' is actually 'now'! You have two options:
    1) Author a new form with FormsCentral. From the distribute tab, save a submission-enabled PDF form. You can send this form out to your recipients and their responses will be collected on FormsCentral.
    2) Import an exsiting PDF form into FormsCentral from the dashboard, and then submission-enable it. Distribute the submission-enabled version and responses will be collected on FormsCentral.
    Thanks!

  • Select or deselect multiple rows with one single selection  event

    Does anyone know how to create a JTable which can select or deselect multiple rows with one single selection event in JTable. Fore example, if the table has
    row1
    row2
    row3
    row4
    row5
    row6
    What I need is when user select row1 or row2, both row1 and row2 should be set to be selected. Then if user press CTRL and click one of row3 or row4, both of them should be selected including the previouse selected row1 and row2.
    For deselection, if row1 and row2 are selected, when users deselect one of row1 or row2, both of them should be deselected.
    Hopefully someone can give me a hint.

    Here is a partial solution using a JList. Only one line gets highlighted when the user makes a selection in the list. But, two lines are returned. There is a blank line between every two lines.
         private void addLineToList() {
              String a = f_one.getText();

  • Diffrence b/w select single & select upto one row

    hi
       wat is the diffrence b/w select single & select upto one row?
    deepak

    Hi,
    Select single has to be used with a where condition that has all the key fields:
    It will always return a unique record(If a match is found).
    Select upto 1 rows would get your the first record if multiple matches are found.
    and select up to has to be end with endselect statements.
    According to SAP Performance course the SELECT UP TO 1 ROWS is faster than SELECT SINGLE because you are not using all the primary key fields.
    select single is a construct designed to read database records with primary key. In the absence of the primary key, it might end up doing a sequential search, whereas the select up to 1 rows may assume that there is no primary key supplied and will try to find most suitable index.
    The best way to find out is through sql trace or runtime analysis.
    Use "select up to 1 rows" only if you are sure that all the records returned will have the same value for the field(s) you are interested in. If not, you will be reading only the first record which matches the criteria, but may be the second or the third record has the value you are looking for.
    The System test result showed that the variant Single * takes less time than Up to 1 rows as there is an additional level for COUNT STOP KEY for SELECT ENDSELECT UP TO 1 ROWS.
    The 'SELECT SINGLE' statement selects the first row in the database that it finds that fulfils the 'WHERE' clause If this results in multiple records then only the first one will be returned and therefore may not be unique.
    Mainly: to read data from
    The 'SELECT .... UP TO 1 ROWS' statement is subtly different. The database selects all of the relevant records that are defined by the WHERE clause, applies any aggregate, ordering or grouping functions to them and then returns the first record of the result set.
    Mainly: to check if entries exist.
    When you say SELECT SINGLE, it means that you are expecting only one row to be present in the database for the condition you're going to specify in the WHERE clause. so that means, you will have to specify the primary key in your WHERE clause. Otherwise you get a warning.
    SELECT UP TO 1 ROWS is used in cases where you just want to make sure that there is at least one entry in the database table which satisfies your WHERE clause. Generally, it is meant to be used for existence-check.
    You may not want to really use the values returned by the SELECT statement in this case (thought this may not necessarily be so).And in each case the database optimizer may choose a different strategy to retrieve the data.
    Knowing when to use SELECT SINGLE or SELECT ... UP TO 1 ROWS
    A lot of people use the SELECT SINGLE statement to check for the existence of a value in a database. Other people prefer to use the 'UP TO 1 ROWS' variant of the SELECT statement.
    So what's the difference between using 'SELECT SINGLE' statement as against a 'SELECT .... UP TO 1 ROWS' statement ?
    If you're considering the statements
    SELECT SINGLE field INTO w_field FROM table.
    and
    SELECT field INTO w_field FROM table UP TO 1 ROWS. ENDSELECT.
    then looking at the result, not much apart from the extra ENDSELECT statement. Look at the run time and memory usage and they may be worlds apart.
    Why is this ?? The answer is simple.
    The 'SELECT SINGLE' statement selects the first row in the database that it finds that fulfils the 'WHERE' clause If this results in multiple records then only the first one will be returned and therefore may not be unique.
    The 'SELECT .... UP TO 1 ROWS' statement is subtly different. The database selects all of the relevant records that are defined by the WHERE clause, applies any aggregate, ordering or grouping functions to them and then returns the first record of the result set.
    According to SAP Performance course the SELECT UP TO 1 ROWS is faster than SELECT SINGLE because you are not using all the primary key fields.

  • Multiple Select List not returning multiple values

    I have created a Multiple Select List, and the manual says that when multiple values are selected and the page is submmitted (I'm using a GO button), the multiple values are put into the ITEM field, separated with a colon . However, whenever I select multiple entries in my list, it only ever returns a value for the first item (like a single select list).
    Does anybody know what I may have missed ? I'm still fairly new to this stuff, so I'm hoping it's fairly simple!
    thanks.
    p.s I'm using a dynamic list of values.

    Andy / Scott,
    Sorry, please bear with me ... still new to this.
    I have a multi select list item in page 2, called P2_MULTI_LIST. When the page is submitted, I no longer physically pass it to page 3, but how would page 3 pick up the value ? Do I need to set up a P3_MULTI_LIST item in page3 and set that item to the P2_MULTI_LIST value, or do I reference P2_MULTI_LIST directly in my Page3 SQL query ?
    Also, if I then want to propogate the value in P2_MULTI_LIST down to another page from page3, via a link in a report, is this possible ?
    thanks
    Tim

  • Package item Vs returnable pac item

    hi gurus,
    can any one explain exactly what is the diff between pakage item and returnable packaging item (with example)
    thanks in advance

    Hi Manoj,
    PACKING:------
    Follow the steps mentioned below:
    Before creating the packaging material you have to go to:
    IMG-Logistics Execution-Shipping -Packing.
    1. Define packaging material types- it can be anything like boxes crates, etc. in this you have to maintain the output determination procedure, output type, plant determination, packaging material category, generate delivery items, number assignment. you can copy from standard also.
    2. Then go to define material group for packaging materials - here you maintain the four digit code and the description. Actually, this group is nothing but similar products which require similar packing products. For Ex. Nokia Phones all types they are basically packed first into a polythene bag. So here nokia phones can become a material group for packaging materials and polythene bag can become the packaging material type which can include different sizes and types of polythene bags.
    3. Define Allowed Packaging Materials - Here you assign the shipping group for packaging materials to the packaging material type. This is related to your mterial master data of the packaging material which you create.
    4. Now go to MM01 to create a packaging material. use material type as Packaging material then inside the system will take the item category group as VERP. Then in the Basic Data1 screen you have the material group for packaging material (MGPM). Slect the proper one. Now in the Sales:General/ Plant screen you have to maintain data regarding the packaging. you select the MGPM same as the basic data 1 screen, then select the packaging material type, the allowed pkh weight, allowed pkg volume. This is important because if the weight of your finished item is 2 KG and in the allowed pkg weight you enter only 1.5 KG, then while you carry out the packing process in delivery, the system will give you error," packaging weight exceeded." The assignment in the IMG creen for Define allowed packaging materials should be same as u mention in the material master. Then save your material master for packaging material.
    5. VA01 create the order, save it.
    6. VL01N enter shipping point, go to edit - pack- you will face a screen with 2 parts. In the top part you select your packaging material in which you want to pack your finished item, enter the system will assign a number to that material. Now select the Material in the top part and the finished one in the lower part and click on the Icon Pack. Here one thing has to be taken care of. Suppose if you want to pack only one finished item in one packaging material, then in the lower part of the screen you have a field for partial quantity here you chnge it to 1. system will prompt quantity changed. now you select the material in the top part and the one in the lower part and click on the PER PART. QTY ICON. In this way the system will pack only one finished item in a single packaging material. Packing is done go back, select the picking and do the PGI. save the delivery and create the invoice.
    Returnble packing:
    Returnble packing includes 3 steps and need to maintain special business partner.
    1. Returnble packing shipments
    Doc. type-- OR Item Cat. TAL Special Stock -- "V" Sc. line cat. --- E2
    2. Returnble packing pickup
    Doc. typeLA Item Cat. LAN Sc.line cat. --- F2
    3. Returnble packing issue
    Doc. type-- LN Item cat. - LNN Sc.line cat.- C2
    Note" RP issue occurs in case of if customer has to decide to keep the returnble packing mat. or if customer damage the RP mat.
    Reward points if u helpful
    Cheers,
    Govind.

  • HOW CAN I  USE MULTIPLE INNERJOINS IN A SINGLE SELECT STATEMENT?

    HI,
    I AM SHABEER AHMED,
    I AM GETTING AN ERROR WHILE I ATTEMPT TO EXECUTE A SELECT STATEMENT WITH MULTIPLE INNER JOINS . BECOZ I WANT TO FETCH ITEM DATA, PARTNER DATA  BASED ON HEADER DATA .
    THEN OF COURSE I HAVE FETCH DATA FROM VBAK VBAP VBKD SO LZ SEND ME THE SOLUTION.
    BYE

    Hi,
    1.Just see this:
    SELECT * INTO CORRESPONDING FIELD OF TABLE itab
    FROM t1 INNER JOIN t2 ON t1f4 EQ t2f4
    INNER JOIN t3 ON t2f5 EQ t3f5 AND
    t2f6 EQ t3f6 AND
    t2f7 EQ t3f7.
    2.But better to use for all entries.It increases the performance.
    FOR ALL ENTRIES
    Tabular Conditions
    The WHERE clause of the SELECT statement has a special variant that allows you to derive conditions from the lines and columns of an internal table:
    SELECT ... FOR ALL ENTRIES IN <itab> WHERE <cond> ...
    <cond> may be formulated as described above. If you specify a field of the internal table <itab> as an operand in a condition, you address all lines of the internal table. The comparison is then performed for each line of the internal table. For each line, the system selects the lines from the database table that satisfy the condition. The result set of the SELECT statement is the union of the individual selections for each line of the internal table. Duplicate lines are automatically eliminated from the result set. If <itab> is empty, the addition FOR ALL ENTRIES is disregarded, and all entries are read.
    The internal table <itab> must have a structured line type, and each field that occurs in the condition <cond> must be compatible with the column of the database with which it is compared. Do not use the operators LIKE, BETWEEN, and IN in comparisons using internal table fields. You may not use the ORDER BY clause in the same SELECT statement.
    You can use the option FOR ALL ENTRIES to replace nested select loops by operations on internal tables. This can significantly improve the performance for large sets of selected data.
    Example for ALL ENTRIES
    DATA: TAB_SPFLI TYPE TABLE OF SPFLI,
    TAB_SFLIGHT TYPE SORTED TABLE OF SFLIGHT
    WITH UNIQUE KEY TABLE LINE,
    WA LIKE LINE OF TAB_SFLIGHT.
    SELECT CARRID CONNID
    INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE TAB_SPFLI
    FROM SPFLI
    WHERE CITYFROM = 'NEW YORK'.
    SELECT CARRID CONNID FLDATE
    INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE TAB_SFLIGHT
    FROM SFLIGHT
    FOR ALL ENTRIES IN TAB_SPFLI
    WHERE CARRID = TAB_SPFLI-CARRID AND
    CONNID = TAB_SPFLI-CONNID.
    LOOP AT TAB_SFLIGHT INTO WA.
    AT NEW CONNID.
    WRITE: / WA-CARRID, WA-CONNID.
    ENDAT.
    WRITE: / WA-FLDATE.
    ENDLOOP.
    INNER JOINS
    In a relational database, you normally need to read data simultaneously from more than one database table into an application program. You can read from more than one table in a single SELECT statement, such that the data in the tables all has to meet the same conditions, using the following join expression:
    SELECT...
    FROM <tab> INNER JOIN <dbtab> AS <alias> ON <cond> <options>
    where <dbtab> is a single database table and <tab> is either a table or another join expression. The database tables can be specified statically or dynamically as described above. You may also use aliases. You can enclose each join expression in parentheses. The INNER addition is optional.
    A join expression links each line of <tab> with the lines in <dbtab> that meet the condition <cond>. This means that there is always one or more lines from the right-hand table that is linked to each line from the left-hand table by the join. If <dbtab> does not contain any lines that meet the condition <cond>, the line from <tab> is not included in the selection.
    The syntax of the <cond> condition is like that of the WHERE clause, although individual comparisons can only be linked using AND. Furthermore, each comparison must contain a column from the right-hand table <dbtab>. It does not matter on which side of the comparison it occurs. For the column names in the comparison, you can use the same names that occur in the SELECT clause, to differentiate columns from different database tables that have the same names.
    The comparisons in the condition <cond> can appear in the WHERE clause instead of the ON clause, since both clauses are applied equally to the temporary table containing all of the lines resulting from the join. However, each join must contain at least one comparison in the condition <cond>.
    Example for INNER JOINS
    REPORT demo_select_inner_join.
    DATA: BEGIN OF wa,
    carrid TYPE spfli-carrid,
    connid TYPE spfli-connid,
    fldate TYPE sflight-fldate,
    bookid TYPE sbook-bookid,
    END OF wa,
    itab LIKE SORTED TABLE OF wa
    WITH UNIQUE KEY carrid connid fldate bookid.
    SELECT pcarrid pconnid ffldate bbookid
    INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE itab
    FROM ( ( spfli AS p
    INNER JOIN sflight AS f ON pcarrid = fcarrid AND
    pconnid = fconnid )
    INNER JOIN sbook AS b ON bcarrid = fcarrid AND
    bconnid = fconnid AND
    bfldate = ffldate )
    WHERE p~cityfrom = 'FRANKFURT' AND
    p~cityto = 'NEW YORK' AND
    fseatsmax > fseatsocc.
    LOOP AT itab INTO wa.
    AT NEW fldate.
    WRITE: / wa-carrid, wa-connid, wa-fldate.
    ENDAT.
    WRITE / wa-bookid.
    ENDLOOP.
