Site publishing settings window missing

The "site publishing settings window" where I can change the destination folder is nowhere to be seen. I did see it once when I first used iweb, but now I cannot find it anywhere on the menu and it certainly doesn't pop up when I wish to publish the site.

Well, I am assuming that since you have posted this question in a before iWeb 08 forum that you are using iWeb 06?
Basically you can't do want you want if you are using iWeb 06. Both iWeb 06 and iWeb 08 require that you click on File and choose the Publish to a Folder option and you then use Cyberduck or Transmit to upload to your external server.
I would suggest that you look more carefully at which forum you are posting your question in so that it corresponds to the version of iWeb that you are using. There is a forum specifically for iWeb 09 if you are using this?

  • CS4: Publish Settings window cut off

When I bring up Publish Settings, the window the comes up is
cut off on my MacBook. I can't grab it and move it down into the
center of the screen since the top of it is out of reach. Probably
easier to just check out the screen grab:

Any idea how I can fix this?
    Thanks

Okay, I think this is officially a bug. I temporarily
installed Mercury Mover so that I could reposition the Publish
Settings window. Problem solved. Except that that next time I
brought up the Publish Settings, it was back in the same old
position with the top cut off.
New question: How do I report a bug to Adobe?

  • The publishing settings page does not open when I click on the domain name and the iWeb application will not stay on the dock.

    Hello,
I have been trying to help a friend who is having problems publishing her website. (She has done so previously using Mobile me)
There seem to be a couple of things wrong with the application,
1     if I drag the application icon onto the dock, it won't stay there
2     I wanted to change where her site is published to (she has bought a domain name and has a hosting service now) but when I click on the domain name I do not get the "site publishing settings page" so we can't enter the new details.  All that comes up is the main page of her website.
I would suggest uninstalling and re-installing Iweb, to see if that clears the problem, but as Iweb came pre-installed with her Imac, I am not sure that we can do this.
    Any ideas please?
she's using and imac 24 in (approx 4 years old) and running osx 10.5.8

NO - not correct.  Even if you are still using iWeb 08, you can still publish to another host and not MobileMe.  You do this by selecting the option 'Publish to a local folder" and this will publish the site to your desktop and you can then use an ftp programme such as Cyberduck to upload your site to your host.
MobileMe will not be here after the end of June, so you will have to find alternative hosting.  They are not taking any new subscriptions.
On new Macs, iLife 11 is pre-installed, but only iPhoto, iMovie and GarageBand are included, not iWeb and iDVD. The Apple Online store is not selling the boxed version of iLife 11 any longer, so if you want to upgrade to iLife, then you'll have to look online at Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk for a boxed set of either iLife 09 or iLife 11.  Both contains iWeb 09, which is what you would want.

  • My iDisk Storage says it's full on my Site Publishing page and won't let me publish but when I got to my account details page looking to buy more space it says I've only used 3MB out of 20GB. Why are they different? And why did it stop letting me publish?

I've been publishing just fine for the past few days and all of the sudden, when I click 'Publish Site' now, the 'content rights' pop up shows up. But then it wants me to sign into MobileMe (to which I'm already signed in). When I click 'sign in' it takes me to System Preferences > MobileMe > Account. I click on iDisk and it says "20.4 GB total, 2.7 MB used, 20.4 GB available"
(I'm not sure why my GB available is still the same even though I've used 2.7 MB.... it wouldn't really matter though if I was able to publish.)
I went back to iWeb to my Site Publishing Settings page and at the bottom there's a bar labeled 'iDisk Storage' and it's completely blue (meaning used).
I also went to my MobileMe account to 'Summary' and under 'Mail and iDisk Storage' it says '3 MB of 20 GB used'.
I'm assuming that it's not letting me publish because it thinks that I have run out of iDisk storage but I could be wrong. I just renewed my MobileMe account in Feb so I'm all payed up.. that shouldn't be the problem. Do you know of any other reasons why it won't let me publish?
I feel like something is wacky with my iDisk Storage either way.
I really hope all of this stuff makes sense. I'm fairly new to Mac and I'm still not sure about all of the lingo.
Thank you for any advice you can give! Any suggestions will be MUCH appreciated!!
    -Ashley

    Try the following:
    close iWeb.
delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your Home/Library/Preferences folder.
go to your Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder and delete its contents.
    reboot.
    launch iWeb and try again.
If that doesn't help continue with:
move the domain file from your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder to the Desktop.
launch iWeb, create a new test site, save the new domain file and close iWeb.
go to the your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder and delete the new domain file.
move your original domain file from the Desktop to the iWeb folder.
    launch iWeb and try again.

  • Publish Settings for iOS provisioning

Under http://helpx.adobe.com/director/using/publishing-ios-devices-using-director.html#id_27206 there is a bullet point titled, Provisioning File Path For Signing The App.
There it says, 'Download the mobile Provisioning file path after creating it and then point the file to the "Provisioning file path for signing the app" field.'
What does that mean? I didn't know it's possible to download a file path! In that last quotation, should Adobe have said "file", not "file path"? Should Adobe have said, "select the file by clicking on the Provisioning File Path for signing the app field"?
In Director's Publish Settings window, there is a button labeled "…" to the right of that Provisioning File Path for signing the app field. When I click it, I see a file opening dialog window that initially shows contents of a "Provisioning Profiles" folder. I see four mysteriously-named files showing there, and I cannot figure out which one I should choose. I can't even find those four files or that "Provisioning Profiles" folder on my computer (I searched using the OS X Finder).
Also, Adobe should revise http://helpx.adobe.com/director/using/publishing-ios-devices-using-director.html#id_27206 to explain this better.

If Adobe did revise that web page I linked to, they should clear up two other things:
First, on that page, it says:
"You can use the template info.plist from the /Configuration/Publish iOS Resources/ folder and make changes to it as needed by your app."
In my Director (with the hotfix2 update installed), the field that quotation refers to is pre-filled with Macintosh HD:Applications:Adobe Director 12:Configuration:Projector iOS Resources:Info.plist so /Configuration/Publish iOS Resources/ is wrong.
Second, on that page it gives a final instruction to "Click Publish." It gives no hint of what to do next.
Publishing creates a file in the same folder as the Director movie source file used to make it. That new file's name ends with a .ipa extension.
I wish there were links to apple.com web pages that explain what to do with the published file.
For testing, here is what I did: On my computer, double-clicking that .ipa file caused iTunes to launch. I clicked the button for my connected iPad, seen in the upper-right of the iTunes window. In the toobar that stretches across the top of the window, I clicked on Apps. I clicked the Install button. I clicked the Apply button in the lower-right corner of the window.
An icon for my test app showed on the iPad. I tapped it and the app launched successfully.
I hope that this explanation helps somebody, and that Adobe fixes that web page.

  • Correcting pixel aspect ratio with Publish settings

Same old, I know. I'm designing and producing a
Flash site using a Mac, but it will be viewed on a large
touchscreen (1366x768) driven by a PC. The vectors look fine when
going from the Mac 1.1 pixel aspect ratio to the Windows 1.0
display, but the photos look degraded and squashed vertically.
Could I fix with the Publish settings ... such as html- publish at
    100% width, 99% height? I can't test easily because my pc's have
such fuzzy old displays, I can't see a thing. Flying blind. The
only time I see how awful it looks on a good PC display is when I
review the work to the client on the client's own PC...ouch.

In Premiere, you can right click on your footage in the Project Bin.  From the context menu, choose Modify then Interpret Footage.  In that dialog box, you can tell it to conform the pixel aspect ratio to 16:9.

  • Publish Settings Error "Air FLAir1_5 is not defined"

    Hi all,
I have been trying to test a simple Air app out using my Windows version of Flash CS4 10.0.2 and Air 1.5.3
Each time I tried to check the Air publish settings I received the following error:
    The following JavaScript error(s) occurred:
At line 1 of the file "Apollo_OpenSettingDialog.jsfl":
ReferenceError : FLAir1_5 is not defined
My Flash updates are all up to date and applied automatically so what is the problem here?
I checked my installed Air 1.5 files as per the Support Technote "Upgrading the Flash authoring tool with the Flash Player, AIR and security releases" at < http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/659/b62ce659.html#air_1_5_for_cs4 >. As far as I could tell all the files listed are in the correct place - or are they...
The update page says that file < FLAir1_5.dll > should be in the following Windows folder:
    (Windows) HD:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS4\<lang>\Configuration\External Libraries\FLAir1_5.dll
All the other files have been placed automatically in the "Common\Configuration" folder so why is this one different? I copied file FLAir1_5.dll and placed it in the following windows folder: < C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS4\Common\Configuration\External Libraries\ > . Then I closed Flash and reopened it. Yeap - I can now access the Air Settings on the publish settings panel and I can test my simple Air app.
I hope that this post will help others who get this error.
    Regards

    Hi,
You can find the missing DLL here :
    http://flash.mediabox.fr/index.php?s=&showtopic=93882&view=findpost&p=596885
Copy it in your Flash folder : C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe

  • Publish Settings dialog in trial version

Hello all! I am a newbie using director and have 2 questions.
    1) where should I start to learn on my own how to use this?
    2) why is the publish settings dialog option to create an exe not enabled? I am using the trial version.
Thanks for any help that you can provide!
My main goal is to create a cd that the user can watch for training. I want the cd to contain a main video and some menu buttons that when clicked,
shows a different video. I tried to program this in vb6 and was very close but some pc's gave errors (missing dll's, ect.).
I do not want to install anything on the users hard drive. Just run from the cd.
    Once again, THANK YOU!
    Sam

    Hi Sam,
As Sean suggested, start with ‘Dean’s Director Tutorials’. Dean’s site is very good, no bias from meJ
There is a tutorial on publishing to a projector at:
    http://www.deansdirectortutorials.com/publishing/projector.htm
Just to add on the publish to projector, you can now update Director 11.5 to get back this functionality. It was removed in D11, perhaps with the idea to limit the trial version more but Adobe have realised that was a mistake.

  • SP2013 Unable to get Cross Site Publishing working

    Hi folks,
I am wondering if anyone has a set of instructions for implementing Cross Site publishing in SharePoint 2013
that actually work and are up-to-date.
I'm trying to implement CSP using a simple document library in a product catalog site collection to a publishing site.  Created a term set, enabled the library under catalog settings for anonymous, uploaded content, full crawled the library, connected
to the catalog from the publishing site, updated the navigation properties on the publishing site - When I test clicking on the navigation link gives a 'The page you are looking for doesn't exist' so it appears not to be creating the appropriate page.
I've examined a dozen different sets of instructions that are either incomplete or just wouldn't work to see if I am missing a step but cannot identify why I don't see the page with a list of document.
One [potential] issue that I have noticed is that the term I am using has a 'memberof' field.  However some times the permissions get correctly updated and sometimes they do not - there appears no way to update or remove values here.
    Regards
    Andy
Update:  I've managed to get a little further (by chance) - after waiting a little longer, I now get the catalogue page displayed, however, there is a warning 'Checked out to you'.  I cannot find any documentation around why this
occurs and how to prevent it.
Also, if I click the link of the document, it does not open the document but instead displays the fields from the document properties (name, version, date etc.).

At the moment the best I can get to happen is a list of documents (with large grey boxes above the names) to appear when the navigation link (the term) is selected on the publishing site. Clicking on the links results in a 'page not found' error.
The URL that is generated when I hover the mouse over the document name on the publishing site  is in the format of  http:server/sites/sitename/term-name/documentname/term-name/15/1.0   I am not sure how that would resolve aback to any
    document.
The first reference to term-name appears to be the value in the term-driven-pages tab, Friendly URL for term field out of the term store on the publishing site.
The second reference to term-name appears to be the value in the Navigation tab for the same term.
Edit:  I am finally able to open a document successfully.   I had to make a couple of changes, the first was to remove the catalog connection and re-create it.  The Catalog Item URL Behaviour needed to be set to 'Make URLS point to source
catalog',  the second was as above - to edit the content search webpart on the  category-xyz page so that it was set to OriginalPath  (and remember to check in and publish the page).
Whenever the catalog connection is modified one needs to re-crawl the server - I found that continuous crawl often didn't seem to pick up changes, so for testing I used a full manual crawl.
Also, when re-creating the catalog connection an error about duplicate terms can be ignored (it still creates the catalog connection), but you have to run a full search crawl afterwards.
Now that I know it works, I need to re-do everything from scratch to ensure that it can be replicated. If I get time, I will post up some instructions with all of the issues I encountered listed.

  • Premiere Pro CS4 "Export Settings" window does not show up.

    Hello,
I've run into a new problem with Premiere Pro CS4. Basically, when I select "File > Export > Media" my Export Settings window doesn't show up. If I click on the Premiere window I hear the beeping sound and nothing happens, if I hit Enter the Export Data window pops up and then Media Encoder opens. So, it seems that my Export Settings window is still open but I can't see it and make the necessary setting changes. It does not appear to be minimized and I can not locate it on my desktop anywhere. This is really frustrating because I was able to see the Export Settings window just a few weeks ago when I was exporting my last project. I've tried changing my screen resolutions but that didnt reveal the Export Settings window.
Does anyone know what is going on here and, more importantly, how I can fix it? I am really stuck here and am working against a deadline. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!
    -Ben

    Ben,
THANK YOU!!!! For two days I have been struggling with the exact same issue. And of course it was simple to fix, if I had just thought about it. Thank you for taking the time to post your experience. I had tried all sorts of stuff trying to get everything onto my #1 monitor, with desktop & workspace resets, resizing my display, etc. After reading and printing your post,
    Hitting ALT+Space,
    Down Arrow,
    Enter,
and then pressing the left arrow and watching my Export window slide into view, I was laughing so hard, that I was tearing up. It would have been a month waiting for my second monitor to get repaired to get to see what was still being displayed on this ghost monitor. Each week, I video and edit our church's service and then post three versions (Windows Media Player, Ipod-MP4, MP3 Audio) of it to our web site. I would have been four weeks behind were it not for your post.
    Again, a BIG Thank You!!!

  • How can I publist my iWeb site to a Windows Server? (FTP is not an option, neither is a Linux server))

So I need to publish my iWeb site to a Windows server on a secure I can't access directly.  I believe I need to export my iWeb site to a local folder on my Mac, then transfer those files to the computer that has access to the server.
I tried this earlier today with the tech in charge of the system and we had trouble getting the files uploaded.
I don't get any error messages, the new site simply doesn't show up.
Can anyone offer any help here?  I know that iWeb users have had problems uploading to Windows servers, but If you know of specific work-arounds to the problems encountered, please let me know.
Thank you in advance.  Any and all help is appreciated!

What ftp programme are you using to upload the site?
Also, where are the files being placed on the server - if they are not in the root folder on the server then they might not show up - (root folder could be anything from "public_html", "www", or "htdocs".  This differs on all servers).
Also, when you published the site from iWeb to a local folder did you see all the files that iWeb produces - did you see firstly the Site folder, the separate index file?  If you did, did you transfer this folder and file to the computer in question?
When you uploaded the site did you upload the whole site folder?  If so, then you also need to upload the separate index file so that it points into the site folder - this needs to sit outside the site folder itself so that it points to the index file in the site folder.
If you don't want to upload like this, then what you can do is simply upload the contents of the site folder instead of the whole folder itself and place all the contents of the site folder - that being all the html file and the resultant css folders for each page to the server instead.

  • Flash CS5.5[Publish Settings]: How to include custom Metadata tags in swf?

In Flash CS5, the 'Publish Settings' for the fla had an 'Export SWC' checkbox that took care of that.
The option is missing. Why was it removed and how can  that be done in 5.5?

Thanks sinious, but, it doesn't work.
Let me elaborate on what I want to do:
I'm trying to create a swf in Flash CS5.5, that's using a flex library (swc) that relies on Metadata tags (anotations).
I need to use the metadata tags in my as3 code (in the fla), and They need to be compiled into the swf (by Flash CS5.5 compiler...).
Although, when I load that swf, the metadata tags aren't compiled into it (I'm using describeType to check if tags are available in the swf).
In flex, I would use the '-kepp-as3-metadata+=' compiler setting to do that, in Flash CS4 & CS5 I used the 'Export SWC' in the publish settings, but that's removed (WHY???).
Checking XMP Metadata didn't change that, the tags are still not included in the compiled swf.
    Anyone?

  • How do I reorder top level pages in BC Site Map Settings?

I created a desktop and mobile version of web site in muse and am hosting through BC.  The site map settings show the pages alphabetically.
    1. - Is there a way to reorder the root level parent pages other than alphabetically? I see I can add the sub-level pages under the top-level pages via drag and drop, but can't reorder any pages. As I'd like to publish the site map to my website but would be unacceptable to have it starts with a 404, Home is somewhere in the middle...
    2. - That being said, does this make any difference for SEO?
    3. - Also, since I have made 2 versions of site (desktop and mobile) which contain same page names, they appear to be showing as dupes in site map settings function. How do I know which is which as reorder and include on site map?
    Thank you in advance..

Yeah that is an issue web developers have been facing for years.
There are some work arounds that you can try:
1: Use the Tooltip Composition for the drop menus and set the transition time to a bit longer time so it isn't quite as apparent there is a secondary menu.
2: Set the menu widget to 'Manual' and add the link to the top level page to the drop menu as well.
3: Don't have a drop menu - just have a seperate template for each section that has drop menus and then in that template add a manual menu widget and add a secone menu to that template on the side or below the other menu or where ever with just links to the pages in that section.
There are probably a few more options but there is no way to really solve the problem with the way it is set up other than maybe creative menu link names. For example top level could say 'All Gizmos', then the drop menu links can say 'Gizmo One', Gizmo Two' etc.
