Sliding panels insert object

I am using trial DW CS3. I have updated to Spry 1.5 as
recommended. I do not see any support for inserting "sliding
panels" through the spry insert interface.
What is wrong here. Am i doing something wrong, is it through
another interface.
The 1.5 update package includes samples and code updates, so
how do I use this widget?

Hi,
In most ways, Spry and Dreamweaver are separate projects.
Spry 1.5 does not add new features to Dreamweaver. I did write an
extension that simply updates the javascript files that Dreamweaver
copies to the users site. It does not add any additional features.
It does update the code hinting but that's it.
In order to add new features to DW, the DW team would have to
write, test and package an update to the product. So far there are
no plans for that, but they are discussing options.
Spry has a shorter development time, so it will keep making
new features for the framework, independent of DW.
The updater extension can be found here:
http://www.dbooth.net/spry/spry_1.5.mxp
To use the new 1.5 features, check out the samples and read
the docs and it should be simple enough to build. If not, let us
know.
I hope this clears things up.

  • Spry Sliding Panel widget

    Okay, So I'm dense at times!
    I want to try and learn the Spry Sliding Panels.  Problem is that it does not appear in my Insert – Spry menu.  After reading at Labs it assumes that since I have DW CS4 that it is installed.  I can't be that dense.
    Yeah, I located the CSS and and JS files online at Adobe.  But that sure won't install it into my DW – Insert menu.
    Am I really that dense?

    To my knowledge it shouldn't appear in the insert menu?
    I did the below tutorial to learn all about sliding panels.
    The tutorial will show you how to link your js and css files to your html etc, which make the panels work.

  • Cannot insert object error using Power View in Excel 2013

    I created a short table in Excel 2013, positioned the cursor in the table and clicked Inset/Power View Report. I get a status window saying Excel is opening a Power View sheet but then I get a Power View error: Cannot Insert Object. I am able to insert new
    tabs in the workbook. When I try the insert again, I just get the Power View error. I looked at other threads with similar issues and did the following:
    Made the Formula bar visible - no change
    Tried to repair Office 2013 but that option is not available when I right click on the program in the Control Panel
    De-installed Silverlight - Tried to insert Power View Report. A Power View tab was created with the Power View picture and Power View ribbon. Got the message to install Silverlight and Reload. Installed Silverlight hit Reload and the Power View tab didn't
    change. Hit Power View Report and got the Cannot Insert Object error message again.
    Any help is appreciated.

    Hi,
    Did you use PowerView first time? I notice you had found a similar thread and tested the solutions.
    PowerView is an add-in in Excel2013, We must make sure that you check some option in the trust center and Add-in center.

    Location1: Excel Options>Add-in>Solver Add-in enable
    Location2: Excel Options> Trust Center> Add-in
    Then you said that you couldn’t repair the Excel 2013, please refer to the following link:

  • Vertical Sliding Panel Code

    I want to create some vertical sliding panels but can't seem
    to find the JS and the spry code files anywhere on the Spry site. I
    have CS3 but they do not include this as a built in widget. Is
    there a place where I can get the code so I can implement this?
    Seems easy enough.

    FWIW: the sliding panel widget isn't built into DWCS4 either.
    The page you linked to has all the code you need, simply view
    source and look for the vertical section in the code. If it's
    easier, you can also check out the samples within the Spry
    Download:
    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/home.html
    and look within the "samples" folder and open up the files for the
    various sliding panel examples to see how the code is constructed.
    Also, you can visit Spry API page:
    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/articles/data_api/index.html
    click on Sliding Panels on the left, then Overview, and you'll see
    the code you can insert into your page as well as a list of the
    required JS and CSS files for the panel.

  • Jump Menu for Sliding Panels Widget

    I have used the sliding panels tutorial to build a 15 page
    sliding document inside a new site I am building. It works
    briliantly. However I want to be able to use a jump menu to access
    any of the 15 pages as well as use the next and previous buttons.
    I tried by inserting a form, then jump menu but couldnt put
    it all together code wise.
    Is it possible to use a jump menu for this widget (Im sure it
    must be) and what bits do I put where? Any ideaas greatly
    appreciated.
    Nigel

    OK Ive given it a shot but I dont where to put that code in
    the mix so to speak.
    The widget code skeleton is below: as per the tutorial.
    Where exactly in this mix would I put the code you suggested.
    Im not sure if its css, html or js.
    Sorry Im such a novice at this business but I would be very
    grateful for a bit more help here.

  • Having trouble with flash and linking to Sliding panels - PLEASE help

    Having trouble with Sliding panels and flash. Otherwise everything works fine but when I'm trying to implement the link
    <a href="#" onclick="sp1.showPanel('panel1'); return false;">Panel1</a>
    to a flash button I get confused. I have tried following
    on (press) {
    getURL("javascript:sp1.showPanel('panel1');");
    and it did not work. What would you suggest? I am desperate. Please help me! Any suggestions are highly appreciated!!!!

    Thanks for your answer!
    I have tried both sp1.ShowPanel('panel1'); and window.sp1.ShowPanel('panel1'); they both give blank window with [object]
    I have found a solution that works in other browsers, but not in IE. Well basicly it works, but after a few clicks IE freezes.
    on (press) {
    getURL("javascript:sp1.showPanel('panel1'); void(0);");
    Would you happen to have a solution other than that? I believe that the void(0); causes the IE to freeze.

  • Blank slides in sliding panels

    I used to be able to insert blank slides into the sliding panels theme. I did this all the time to manipulate the slideshow to display the way I wanted, and to create chapter breaks. I have a few published slideshows that prove it. Now, however, the function is greyed out unless I'm in Classic or Ken Burns themes. When I open my working files of those published slideshows all the places where the blank slides were (originally black to match the background) are white boxes. Anyone have any idea what happened?

  • Get Count of Panels in Sliding Panels

    Is there a way to get the # of panels of a sidling panels
    widget?
    I'd like to add left and right arrows and gray out an arrow
    if they're at the end of the list of panels.
    The only way to do this is to find out if currentPanel =
    totalPanels (assuming this exists).
    Is there an API for this?
    Thanks!
    Chris

    hi Chris,
    Try calling the getContentPanelsCount() method on the sliding
    panels object.
    var panelCount = sp.getContentPanelsCount();
    You can also get the index of the current panel like this:
    var curPanelIndex =
    sp.getContentPanelIndex(sp.getCurrentPanel());
    I have the addition of observers to widgets on my list of
    things to do.

  • Sliding Panels: displaying active panel number, total panel count, etc.

    I have an XML-generated Sliding Panels widget. How do I fetch the active panel number, total panel count, and disable Previous/Next buttons based on panel's place in the sequence?
    In other words:
    Panel 1 of 3   |   < Previous (disabled)   |   Next >
    Panel 1 (active)
    Panel 2
    Panel 3

    I've not seen an example of exactly what you're trying to do, but take a look at the code for this page:
    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/samples/slidingpanels/SlidingPanelsFromData.html
    It dynamically builds up the sliding panel from data and dynamically creates the list of numbered links based upon the number of panels.
    In a quick look, there isn't a method of the Sliding panel object which tells you the index of the current panel, but you can get that by calling getCurrentPanel() and then loop over the panels which you can obtain by getContentPanels() and checking against each panel to see if it is the current panel and then that's the index of your current panel. From there you can set the "(active)" label and enable and disable the previous and next buttons, if you're at index 0, then disable previous and if your at getContentPanelsCount()-1  then you're at the end.

  • Sliding panel in ajax content

    How to i get the sliding panel to work with ajx content..
    Scenario..
    user clicks a link, loads ajax content. they click another
    link that starts of the sliding of images.. the thing is, is that
    it always starts at 0 because ofcourse i need to initiate sp3 and
    can not do so on page load because it doesnt exist yet..
    i thought id try a workaround but have a textfield hold the
    current position then ever instance of the spry object it defauts
    to that pane.. but it doesnt work..
    heres some code..
    function showImage(rnd,obj) {
    current = el('browseWardrobesImageSlide_'+rnd).value;
    el('browseWardrobesImageSlide_'+rnd).value = obj;
    var sp3 = new
    Spry.Widget.SlidingPanels("SlidingPanels2",{defaultPanel:current});
    sp3.showPanel(obj);
    any help would be greatly appreciated..

    Hi,
    I dont think that is what im after..
    Basically my ajax page has this in it..
    <script>
    var sp4 = new Spry.Widget.SlidingPanels("SlidingPanels2");
    </script>
    because slidingPanels2 does not exist on initial page load i
    can't run this script.
    i have this code to load the ajax content
    Spry.Utils.setInnerHTML(div,content,false);
    this executes the javascript within that ajax page
    successfully, but when i try to sp4.showPanel() it says it cant
    find sp4..???
    hope that makes sense.

  • Is it possible to get one sliding panel to automatically display a web site?

    I have a slinding panel widget with 6 content panes.  One of the tabs is named "Online Help'.  I would like the content pane for that tab to automattically display a form that is on a website.
    The 'onclick' that is associated with the "Online Help" tab is calling the sliding panel number.  If I repace it with an http address, the other panels continue to display but, that panel displays blank.
    I have tried a CSS style tag for the panel that includes the http url in a background attribute.  That is not working either.
    I made a stab at spry:detailregion, but I don't know if a url can be a prameter in that element.
    Does anyone have ideas on what I can try?
    Thanks,
    meileendougherty

    Well, a url can be the contents of a data cell, but it will only give you a link, not the other website.
    Although iframes are often considered tricky, I have not had bad luck with them. Put an iframe in your content cell, and use your other website as the source. You will have to give the iframe dimensions, or it will default to 'pretty small'.

  • Possible to have two occurences of sliding panels in same location on page?

    Hi, any help you guys could give me would be greatly appreciated.
    I'm redesigning my portfolio page, and am trying to use the sliding panels widget for the two gallery areas. Ideally, when you click the links in the Design area on the left side navigation section, a Sliding Panels Content Group containing all the design work slides should appear on the right side of the page. When you click the links in the Illustration area, a Sliding Panels Content Group containing all the illustration work slides should replace the Design group in the exact same location on the page. Similar to links appearing in an iframe, but without having to click links and upload a page in the frame for each image.
    I've managed to get the two different Content Groups to both be on the same page at the same time, like is done with the multiple examples at http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/samples/slidingpanels/SlidingPanelsSample.html, but no luck getting a single Content Group to appear and then be replaced by the second group by clicking one of the links to the left.
    Here's the page I'm working with, with only one of the Content Groups active:
    http://www.susanmeyerart.com/redesign/
    eta: I'm working with Spry Pre-Release 1.6.1.

    I think you can do this by using Spry Tabbed Panels as your container for the two sets of Sliding Panels. I have not tried this particular nesting before, but if you set up a test page, you can try it out.
    Each set of Sliding Panels would appear as content on one of the Tabbed Panels. When each Tabbed Panel Tab is clicked, the corresponding Panel appears, holding your Sliding Panels.
    This may not work, but, as they say...you don't know until you try!
