Slowness problem of startup form using JRE 1.5 (IE freeze)

Hi,
I am using Oracle Forms & Reports Services 10g on Windows Server 2003 to run my application. Initially it was working fine but few days back it became tremendous slow while starting startup form (CONSOLE_MAIN Form). But afterwards remaining transaction forms working fine.
Below is my config section in formsweb.cfg file
[BMS]
form=D:\BMS\CONSOLE_MAIN.fmx
userId=BMS/BMS@orcl
workingDirectory=D:\BMS
pageTitle=Business Management Suite
baseHTMLjinitiator=webutiljini.htm
imageBase=Codebase
archive_jini=frmall_jinit.jar,fjutilities.jar,rolloverbutton.jar,images.jar,editor.jar
colorScheme=blue
otherparams=useSDI=yes
separateFrame=true
logo=none
background=none
splashScreen=none
# Parameters related to webutil
WebUtilArchive=frmwebutil.jar,jacob.jar
WebUtilLogging=off
WebUtilLoggingDetail=normal
WebUtilErrorMode=Alert
WebUtilDispatchMonitorInterval=5
WebUtilTrustInternal=true
WebUtilMaxTransferSize=16384
As I am using separateFrame=true, after initializing the separate window it takes 1 min time to come user login (application user) window. It seems hang like while waiting.
Please help me if you have any suggestion. Thanks.

Seems to be a problem with exe4j. Ask your friend to deploy a platform independent version of his program as well.

  • Slow Problems with Oracle Forms 10g and Oracle Database 11g

    Hi, I wonder if there is a compatibility problem between Version 10.1.2.0.2 32 Oracle Forms and Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0 - 64bit Production. This is because my application runs correctly on a version of Oracle Database 10g, and when we migrated the database to an Oracle Database 11g, slowness problems came out.
    Thanks.

    We have the same issue happening with our custom forms and with some of the standard forms in EBSO. So far we have found that the form invoking a view causes ridiculous slowness in opening the form (40 mins). Using a table access has shortened the open time significantly. At this time Oracle DBAs at OOD have no clear idea why it is happening.
    we are on 11.1 database with 11.5 EBSO

  • Problem with interactive forms using ABAP

    Hi all,
        I am trying to create an interactive adobe form using ABAP in ECC 6.0. But while execute the form, it is creating an error saying that
    Exception       SYSTEM_ERROR
    Message ID:          FPRUNX                     Message number:           001
    Message:
    ADS: The render error log file has been written to D:\u(200101)
    But i was able to create adobe interactive form using WebDynpro and its working perfectly. But the problem is while using ABAP method.
    Do anyone have an idea why its happening?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Raja Sekhar

    Hi
    Interactive Forms based on Adobe software is SAP's new solution for forms development. Its first release has the focus on interactive use of forms. High-volume printing is supported in principle, but - being a new solution - the performance has not yet reached the same level as Smart Forms or SAPscript, two established solutions that had years to grow. Interactive Forms is the only solution that will continue to be enhanced with new features, while SAPscript and Smart Forms will be supported without limitations.
    When (or if) to move to Interactive Forms depends on your requirements. For interactive forms usage, i.e. the new functions, you have no choice, as the existing solutions don't support it. High-volume print scenarios need to be carefully analyzed to see whether your concrete requirements can be met at this point.
    However, it is possible to move to Smart Forms and design your forms in such a way that a migration at any point in the future would be but a small step. Smart Forms offers from Web AS 6.40 a migration wizard to Interactive Forms. Technically, everything can be migrated, but we recommend against things like ABAP program nodes, for example.
    You are not forced to ever go to Interactive Forms if you don't want to. It really depends on whether your client needs any of the new features in Interactive Forms. Also, if they are currently working with JetForms, they could enquire with Adobe directly what migration path they offer to the joint solution.
    It is impossible to make a blanket statement on what needs to be done in each of the applications using a form for output. Despite the same underlying technology, forms handling has always been a decision for each SAP application: Some do it through customizing, some through coding, some in yet anither way.
    What I CAN say from a technology pespective is that all applications are in the process of creating their forms based on Interactive Forms so that by 2007 pretty much all SAP forms will be PDF-based. Obviously, each application does it within the framework of their application - but they all use Interactive Forms.
    By the way, be aware that in ERP 2004 this forms solution is subject to a limitation for high-volume printing scenarios as we cannot ensure that ALL customers will be content with the performance in ALL scenarios with this release. (see SAP Note 863893).
    To get an overview idea about Adobe forms ,
    Using SFP , first you need to create a interface . in interface you can declare the import and export parameters and also the declaration part, coding etc : This is nothing but similar to Function module interface.
    And now we have to create the Form which is interactive. Create the form and enter the interface name which you have created in first step, so that the parameters , declarations of fields etc : will be copied and available in the form layout. So that you can drag and drop these declared fields ( dclared fields of interface ) to the layout.
    Create the context and layout in the form.
    The layout generated can be previewed and saved as PDF output.
    Now we need to integrate the driver program and the PDF form to get the final output as per the requirement.
    On activating and executing the form you will get a function module name just similar to smartforms.
    The driver program needs to call this FM.

    DATA : it_bookings TYPE ty_bookings.

  • Problem Querying Oracle Forms Using a Date Field and a Format Mask

    Hello,
    We are experiencing a problem with Oracle Forms that I was wondering if you can help me with.
    We have several Forms that have single database blocks assigned to Oracle tables. The Forms are queryable and one of the fields we’re querying on is assigned to a field on the base table which is Not Null and has a Type of DATE. We are storing date/time information in this field on the database table. The item on the form is set up as a Date field with a Maximum Length of 7, a Format Mask ‘MMDDYY’ and having a Query Length of 10.
    We’ve seen a discrepancy in how these fields are used to query the base table block. On some user’s computers they are able to enter a 6 digit date followed by the % sign (e.g. ‘091808%’) and they get the expected results. Other users get ‘FRM-40301: Query caused no records to be retrieved. Re-enter’. Do you know why we are experiencing this difference?
    - The Oracle Database version we are running is Release 10.1.0.5.0.
    - The Forms Developer version that we’re experiencing the problem with is 4.5.10.15.2
    Thanks,
    Kris

    There is no obvious reason that I can see.
    Version 4.5 is very old so you might have problems calling Oracle Support. If you can reproduce the same problem o0n 10.1.2 you should call have them analyze the problem.

  • Problems when creating form using wizard

    i use the data block wizard to create a form but one of my field, i use a radio button.in the layout editor, the radio button did not appear.how can i make it appear on my screen?
    i have another problem.
    how can i use the colunm of two tables when using data block wizard to create one data block?

    Hello Nicky,
    You can place the "Signature Field" in the form and ask your users to sign the file before submitting it via email.

  • Problem activating interactive forms using ABAP WD - tutorial Thomas Jung

    Hello,
    We are trying to built the sample WDA application with the interactive form, as described in the video of Thomas Jung.
    Unfortunately, we are not able to activate the form.
    In SE80, we don't see any errors at all. It simply isn't activated.
    When we try to activate the form in trx SFP, the error "error during activation", is displayed, but no log, no solutions.
    We use an Netweaver 2004s system ( WAS700 ) and the Adobe Lifecycle Designer 7.1
    Anybody can help us on this issue ?
    Thanks in advance,
    Yoeri

    Hello Yoeri,
    I've a similar problem but when I try to activate the form there is an error number: EU837. Unfortunately there is no further advice. I tried the search-function but could not find anything.
    Did you find out any solution for your problem?
    Is there someone else who can give me a hint?
    Thanks in advance,
    Nadin
    Edit:
    Updating SAP GUI to 6.40 was the solution in my case.

  • Please help...Problem with 3D Applet using JRE 1.5

    Hi all,
    I have an applet which uses sun opengl 1.3.1 plugin to render some 3D graphics. It is working fine with JRE 1.4.2_06, but not showing the 3D graphics with the latest JRE 1.5 release. I tried to repaint using available API with no success.
    Please help asap,
    Thanks in advance
    prasad

    I wonder if you have the same problem as me... Maybe we can find a solution for us both, no need for me to open a new thread for this topic then...
    I wrote an applet using Swing and compiled it using JavaSDK 1.4.x. I also installed the 1.4.x JRE for both of my test browsers. In Mozilla 1.1 the applet displays properly all the time. In IE6 SP1 it sometimes works as intended but sometimes the applet simply stops working, as per my Java Console somewhere after invoking the "start" method. Parts of the applet simply become gray and when I resize it - I have a JFrame in my applet - the whole JFrame becomes gray and does not respond to input nor it redraws itself. Shutting down IE does not close the JFrame(although the java console reports normal program termination and cleanup) and the only way to close it is through the task manager. I am using Windows 98SE btw.
    Does it sound similiar to your problem? It happens ONLY with IE, not with Mozilla. Anybody has an idea on what it could be? I doubt there's an error in my code...

  • ADOBE FORMS using Webservice

    Hi Experts,
    I have a problem with Adobe Forms Using webservice.  I created  RFC where it saves data from Adobe Forms to a customized table and exposed it as webservice.  From the SOA manager, I copied the generated link pasted in the dataconnection in Adobe Lifecycle designer, but whenever I generate the form I keep receiving this error:
    "http:// erpwrk1.corp.com:8000/sap/bc/srt/wsdl/bndg_DFA46DE60CFOD33F19F21005056C00008/wsdl11/allinone/ws_policy/document?sap-client=001".  Check that the path is correct and that the file is a valid wsdl file.
    I already activated services from SICF in relation SOAP runtime.   What could be the cause of the problem and how to fix the problem?
    Thanks A Lot!
    Mae

    Hi Ma. Angelica A. Estacio,
    From the SOA manager, I copied the generated link pasted in the dataconnection in Adobe Lifecycle designer, but whenever I generate the form I keep receiving this error:  Check that the path is correct and that the file is a valid wsdl file and hence i cannot finish the data connection wizard.
    From the above posts, it looks like you have resolved the issue. But can you please let me know how did you resolve it ?
    Did you check any SAP transaction to find the above mentioned checkbox?
    Please revert as this has become critical now.
    You can mail me your response on [email protected]

  • Problem launching e-biz forms using Java JRE 1.6.0_07 and JRE 1.6.0_13

    Got a problem launching Forms from e-biz 11.5.10.2 using JRE 1.6.
    Our setup :
    E-biz: 11.5.10.2
    Forms: 6i Patchset 19
    DB: 10.2.0.3
    JRE: 1.6.0_07 (e-biz is config to use this version)
    on windows desktop clients:
    JRE: 1.6.0_13
    As a non-privileged user account on the workstation, users cannot launch the forms using the 1.6.0_13 JRE.
    When a privilieged(Admin) user account logs in, the forms launch fine using 1.6.0_13.
    We understand that IA enforces many policy settings in our environment, but can anyone identify which types of policy settings would break this access?
    Thanks everyone!
    Gabe

    Thanks for the docs! We've reviewed them, and are satisfied that the JRE family of 1.6 is working properly.
    Our issue is that there are some windows security policies/ maybe group policies, that are restricting the launching of the forms using the newer 1.6.0_13 JRE. This is what we are after, and I would like to know if anyone else has faced similar issue.
    Some more clarification:
    if the workstation has the 1.6.0_07 JRE, and a non-privileged account logs in, the forms launch fine.
    Once 1.6.0_13 is pushed (as our NetAdmin is requesting), the non-privileged account cannot launch forms. Instead, they get an active X request to install 1.6.0_07, which they do not have privilege to install.
    Hope this helps.

  • Slow response in opening form when using webutil

    Hi,
    When I try to use the webutil functions, I find it is very slow in opening the form.
    It takes about 30 seconds.
    But if I remove the frmwebutil.jar in the server directory /forms/java/, it takes
    less than 3 seconds.
    Any suggestion ?
    Thanks in advance.
    Ivan

    Do you find the slow startup everytime with webutil or only the very first time you use webutil. The JAR file should be cached which means if the jar download is make it slow then it should be faster next time you run it.
    The other point is do you actually have any webutil code running when you use webutil - maybe that code is causing the problem.

  • Prevent Startup Form from Loading using Command Line Arguments

    Hi there
    I'm developing a VB.NET windows forms application in VS2013.
    The application will have 2 ways of being executed, one being by the user manually and the other being automated by the task scheduler.
    When executed by the task scheduler, command line arguments will be used so that the application is aware that it is being run automatically and not by a user.
    My problem is that I want the startup form to load when run by a user but I don't want it to load when it is run automatically, I just want to execute code.
    Is it possible to prevent the startup form from loading by using the commandline arguments from the MyApplication_Startup event?
    Cheers

    Hi Aureuz,
    >>Is it possible to prevent the startup form from loading by using the commandline arguments from the MyApplication_Startup event
    It is impossible to accomplish it in the MyApplication_Startup event, we can use Form.Shown event:
    #Form.Shown Event
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.windows.forms.form.shown(v=vs.110).aspx
    If we start a form by using the commandline arguments, the count of CommandLineArgs will be above one, if so, use Me.Hide() method to hide this form.
    Private Sub Form1_Shown(sender As Object, e As EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Shown
    Dim args As String() = Environment.GetCommandLineArgs()
    If args.Count > 1 Then
    Me.Hide()
    Else
    Me.Show()
    End If
    End Sub
    You can also uncheck "Enable application framework" on the project properties application tab and select your startup object to a module object:
    Module Module1
    Sub Main()
    Dim args As String() = Environment.GetCommandLineArgs()
    If args.Count > 1 Then
    'Run your background code
    Else
    Dim f As New Form1
    f.ShowDialog()
    End If
    End Sub
    End Module

  • Drastic problems running Forms using JavaPlugin

    I'm facing some problems running my Forms application using JRE/JPI. My Forms version is 10g release 1 and JRE version is 1.4.2_13. I've upgraded my Application Server with patch to make it run smoothly with JRE. Patch ID is p4948949_9043_WINNT (patch 3). So my upgraded Forms version is 9.0.4.3.
    Problems are as follows:
    ** There's a problem in Font, it's not appearing on application as configured. So I want to unistall the patch and restore my Forms version to previous version but I don't know how to uninstall this patch.
    ** Another issue which seems to be JRE related problem is I can't use mouse to select control on my Forms running application. I've to press TAB key to navigate through controls such as TEXT_ITEM. When I'm running application using JInitiator, this problem doesn't occur, I can click on any control of Forms , so I think it's JRE related problem.
    Ours is a large scale application...this is why I'm in great problem now. Could someone help me resolve these issues?
    Regards
    Rashed

    Sun has suggested that Oracle bug 5512094 will not be included into a production release until 1.5.0_13. For reasons unknown to us, the fix will not likely make it into _12. Since we are not responsible for their releases, this information may or may not be accurate. You will need to contact Sun for the latest details regarding their releases.
    In the mean time, it is recommended you continue to use the special release you were provided by Oracle Support. However, also ensure that you have installed the latest one-off patches on the server which address several focus issues. Below is a list of the latest based on which version you may be using.
    Forms 9.0.4.3 > Metalink Patch ID# 5750167 (New as of Jan 24, 2007)
    Forms 10.1.2.0.2 > Metalink Patch ID# 5677148
    Forms 10.1.2.2 > Metalink Patch ID# 5750193
    As mentioned, both Oracle and Sun are investigating several other focus issues, so these patches may not correct your issue.
    The best suggestion would be to create a reproducible test case and provide it to Support. This will help Oracle to better determine if your issue is one which we are already aware of or if yours is a new issue.

  • Problem in loading an applet using JRE 1.5

    Hi,
    I have an applet which is working fine under JRE 1.4, but the same applet failing to load by using JRE 1.5
    Problem Description:
    1. The images in the applet fails to load using JRE 1.5
    2. The Username and Password text box are also failing to initialize.
    Can anyone help me out in this.
    Is there any code changes required ?
