SOAP and Apache compartibility probs

Hello,
i want to deploy a soap web service and i 've read
the www.soapuser.com tutorial but unfortunately it
seems that there is a major problem somewhere
that i can not discover.
Can u tell me a stable version for deploying soap web services in an apache server?
also what packages i need. if you give me some tutorial page it would also be very helpful!!
Thnx

Hi Thierry,
When we wrote the web services layer for BEA we purposefully left out
stateful session beans and entity beans because they did not match the
"services" model and there is no standard way to keep the state between
calls to the service. I believe the Apache implementation uses the HTTP
session for this behaviour. I don't know what the problem is with the
Apache SOAP implementation but I can try and help you either 1) use a
stateless session bean to call your sfsb, or 2) convince me that stateful
beans implemented outside the web services standard is something BEA should
support.

Hello,
I wanted to use BEA's implementation of SOAP, but the problem is that you
cannot call SFSB.
Therefore I tried to install and run Apache SOAP (Which provides a service
for SLSB, SFSB, EB).
However, you I try to remotely list the services through:
java -cp %CP% org.apache.soap.server.ServiceManagerClient
http://localhost:7001/soap/servlet/rpcrouter list
I always get

  • SOAP and J2EE security

We have deployed several SOAP services (Apache SOAP) on a WLS6.1
server. Since there are more and more services are being deployed
people are getting worried about security. I was wondering what the
best solution was to to authentication and authorization on EJB and
method level for SOAP clients ? I was thinking about the following
solution: use the standard J2EE security by defining security
constrainst in the ejb-jar.xml file. Therefor every client needs to
provide credentials to use the EJB's (this should work for both
    RMI/IIOP and SOAP clients).
What are your ideas and opinions about this solution ?

  • Tomcat 4.0.1, JWSDP and Apache - setup help please

    Windows 2000 env.
First off, the latest Comanche release (Apache GUI) isn't really stable
    enough to use.
Has anyone got any experience with running Java Web Services Development
    Package with an Apache server.
JWSDP is packaged with a version of Tomcat 4 - a VERSION of it. It doesn't
seem to have WARP capability, and some connectors seem to be missing from
    it.
I was unable to get this to work with Apache, and have decided to switch
back to the standard release of Apache/Jakarta Tomcat 4.0.1.
Has anyone else tried using the JWSDP??? I'm setting up a development
server, and figured JWSDP would be nice, since it has some components
    already installed, ie SOAP.
    JWSDP doesn't create a workers.properties and mod_jk.conf-auto file. Are
there any new tricks to setting up Tomcat 4 with Apache since Tomcat 3.x?
Is there a different way to configure JWSDP for use with Apache Web Server?
setup Tomcat 4 Apache web server
setup Tomcat 4 and Apache web server
    setup JWSDP Apache

    Thanks...
Since then, I have gone to Tomcat 4.0.1, and will install SOAP, etc as needed.
As I have not been able to find a complete Windows Apache and Tomcat installation guide, I will be writing one soon and posting it.

  • SOAP and XML

How can I setup SOAP and web services to POST and GET XML file from the third party application?
What document can I read? Thanks!

If you are an Oracle9i JDeveloper user, you might want to try the Oracle9i JDeveloper guide which gives you a simple helloworld sample to get you going. This uses the SOAP environment that is automatically configured by default on OC4J. See:
    http://otn.oracle.com/sample_code/products/jdev/files/JDevRGuide.zip
The Web service demo shows how an EJB can be published on OC4J as a Web service - basically by configuring a SOAP-aware servlet that front-ends your Java/PL/SQL component.
For a more complete example check out the sample one that just came out the other day covering stateless and stateful Java classes, an EJB and a PL/SQL stored procedure:
    http://otn.oracle.com/sample_code/tech/java/web_services/
For a set of examples of Web services that ship with OC4J, download OC4J and look in the directory:
    <OC4J_Home>\j2ee\home\demo\web_services\
and take a read of the readme.txt. The area of OTN describing the OC4J Web services content is at:
    http://otn.oracle.com/tech/webservices/
If you are looking for the Apache SOAP environment that ships with Oracle9iAS, simply look for the soap.ear file that is on the distribution. Normally this is located in <OC4J_Home>/soap/webapps/ but it might be easier to search the OC4J directory structure because its location changed between the 1.0.2.2 release and Release 2 now available here as noted above.
    Hope this gives a start.

  • SMP3.0 Kapsel support for SOAP and REST services(not ODATA) and Symbian platfrom

    Dear Experts,
Can we develop apps using Kapsel on SOAP and REST services?
As phonegap supports Symbian platform, will Kapsel apps work on Symbian???
    Regards
    Srini
    7730801444

I think you should reconsidering the Phonegap supports Symbian part.
As Phonegap is based upon Cordova, PG basically supports what Cordova supports. Cordova dropped Symbian a while ago. The latest release does not support Symbian: Apache Cordova
The Platform section does not mention Symbian, but does some "exotic" ones like WebOS, Tizen, FirefoxOS.
Same for PG: PhoneGap API Documentation -> no Symbian
Sure, PG 2.x listed Symbian, but 2.x is based on another architecture than PG 3 and Cordova 3. As Kapsel is a set of SAP plugins for Cordova 3, Kapsel needs Cordova 3.
As long as Symbian is not in the list of platform Cordova runs on, there won't be Kapsel for Symbian.

  • Tomcat and Apache via JK2

    Hello,
Has anybody ever gotten tomcat and apache working properly? I'm having a hell of a time with it. I have them working independently, and have JK2 installed (made a package for it). I used the tomcat 4.1 package from incoming...
I can post configs and such if anybody thinks they can help. Right now, this is just a probe to see if anyone thinks they can help.   I need a break from it, been scrapping with it for three hours now.
Once I get this working, I'll post a howto to the Wiki, I promise. :-D
    Thanks for any info,
    Dusty

Thanks for the info so far, it's still not working though... here's what I'm getting:

I've got apache 2.0.48, tomcat 4.1.27, and jk2 2.0.2. Tomcat is from incoming, I built jk2 from ABS myself; It puts mod_jk2.so in /usr/lib/apache.
    in httpd.conf added a module:
    LoadModule jk2_module   lib/apache/rh72-2.0.2-mod_jk2.so
    I've got:
    LoadModule jk2_module           lib/apache/mod_jk2.so
I think that's right; it seems to be loading the module (see error messages below)
in the same directory (as httpd.conf) there is the workers2.properties file:
I've tried various versions of that file. I just tried it with the one you gave copy-pasted into place, same problems.
In the tomcat server.conf there is a connector for Coyote/JK2 AJP 1.3, make sure this is not commented and is on port 8009.
I think I've got that set up properly. Isn't there some command I can use to test if there is a service running on port 8009?
Anyway, when I go to http://localhost:8080/examples/jsp, for example, it works with tomcat. But if I go to http://localhost/examples/jsp I get a 404 not found; apache isn't forwarding the request to tomcat, for whatever reason.
In /var/log/httpd/error_log, I've got this info:

  • Is in PI7.1 possible asynchronous communication between SOAP and ABAPProxy?

    Hi,
when method execute_asynchronous has disapeared since XI/PI 7.1, is
there still way how to use ABAP proxy in asynchronous way?
We need to build asynchronous connection SOAP->PI->ABAP_Proxy.
In PI, both interfaces are defined as asynchronous (outbound for SOAP and
    inbound for ABAP Proxy).
Despite of this fact, when message is sent, it is processed
    synchronous way.
I have set breakpoint in my implementation of method for ABAP Proxy
message processing. When message is sent and breakpoint is reached,
whole connection stays open (between SOAP and PI and between PI and
ABAP Proxy) and waits for processing method (the breakpointed one) to
return. Only when processing method returns, is connection finelly
    closed.
If i understand it correctly, this is synchronous behavior. In
asynchronous behavior, as i understand it, should be connection
between PI and ABAP Proxy of application server closed immediately
after message has been delivered. This mean before my processing
    method is even called.
The same could be said about SOAP and PI communication. Connection
should be closed immediately after PI has received message. From
definition of asynchronous communication of PI is obvious, that PI
should receive message correctly and close connection to sender system
even when receiver is unreachable. It should deliver message later
when, receiver system is back on line. So why it keeps connection to
sender system open while it waits for receiver?
Why is this happening, when both interfaces are defined as
asynchronous? Could be the reason for this, if APPLICATION
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT is set on by default? If so, how can i change it
to SYSTEM ACKNOWLEDGEMENT, or disable it at all?
Or is this kind of asynchronous communication even possible since
    XI/PI 7.1 ?
Processing of message we are sending can take some time, so we dont
want connection pending open while waiting for finish of
processing. Thats the reason why we have chose asynchronous model to
    use.

Quote from How to Use the J2EE SOAP Adapter:
"If you select Best Effort, the Web service client will receive a response
message in the SOAP body. Otherwise, the Web service client will not receive a
response message if no error occurs."
"if no error occurs" - that is the problem. In either case he still
waits if some error occure or not. I dont want it. Once PI has
received message, I want the connection with sender to be closed. If
there will be error in communication between PI and reciever, I want
to see it only in PI log. That mean no notification to sender to be
    send about that error.
    Is that possible?

  • Installing Coldfusion 9 and Apache 2.2 on Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard

I'm having issues getting ColdFusion 9 working with Apache 2.2 on Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard.
The server is brand new and it's a fresh install of Apache and ColdFusion 9.
Having installed Apache, I tested the web server and it was working fine, so I proceeded to install ColdFusion 9. I attempted to restart the Apache server through the Apache Service monitor, only to get the error dialog box 'The requested operation has failed'.
On closer examination of the Windows error log, I saw the following error:
The Apache service named  reported the following error: >>>
httpd.exe: Syntax error on line 488 of C:/Program Files (x86)/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2/conf/httpd.conf: Cannot load C:/ColdFusion9/runtime/lib/wsconfig/1/mod_jrun22.so into server: The Apache service named is not a valid Win32 application.
I updated the ColdFusion installation to 9.0.1 in case there was an issue with version 9.0 and Apache. Still no joy.
After a bit of research, I thought perhaps there was an issue with the mod_jrun22.so file (since when I commented out the reference to that file from the Apache config file, the Apache HTTP server started without any problem). I tried replacing the mod_jrun22.so with the 32 bit version (extracted from the wsconfig.jar file), but that made no difference either.
I have tried a number of things. I have run wsconfig and uninstalled all web server connectors and then re-created them.
I have to use Apache and IIS is not an option (I use rewrite rules extensively in an existing live installation and have many sites set up in a vhosts file), so please - no suggestions to use IIS instead.
The system requirements on http://www.adobe.com/sea/products/coldfusion/systemreqs/ state that Coldfusion 9 will work with Apache 2.2.17 and later on Windows 64 bit, so why am I having issues with a brand-new installation on a 'virgin' server?
Any help would be much appreciated. I have spent hours trawling the Web for solutions.

I missed an important detail in my opening post. My Coldfusion 9 version is 64 bit - not 32.
OK. Simple solution to this. I'll put it here for other peoples' reference.
To cut a long story short, after phoning Adobe support this morning I was told that you can't run a 64 bit version of ColdFusion with a 32 bit web server. In essence, the web server software and the ColdFusion server software must be the same - either 32 or 64 bit.
Apache is only officially released as a 32 bit version, but there is a 64 bit unofficial version available from http://www.blackdot.be/?inc=apache/binaries, so I downloaded that and installed it, based on the instructions at http://www.elxis.org/guides/developers-guides/64bit-apache-php-mysql-windows.html.
Once I'd installed the 64bit version of Apache, the installation of Coldfusion 9 64 bit went smoothly and all appears to be working just fine now (well, I can get to the ColdFusion Administrator page and I have successfully updated the server software to ColdFusion 9.0.1).
The fact that you can't mix different 'bit' versions of software in this way may be obvious, but it wasn't obvious to me. Having been an early adopter of a 64 bit version of Vista on my own PC, I never experienced these kind of problems before. Software installed itself into the corresponding locations on my PC without any problem and just worked. This is the first time I've run into this problem.
Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be any information regarding this very important requirement on the system requirements pages, so I suggested to the support engineer that he may want to make the recommendation that the page is amended to clarify the situation: e.g.
IMPORTANT: 64 bit versions of ColdFusion require 64 bit versions of web server software to function. You can not mix 32 bit and 64 bit versions of web servers and ColdFusion server.
Hope this helps someone else out.

  • Https for SOAP and HTTP Receiver adapters in PI 7.1

    Hi,
We need HTTPS Transport protocol is required to send the message to receiver systems.
Currently we are using below procedures for https:
    1)     HTTP with SSL (= HTTPS) without client authentication
    2)      HTTP with SSL (= HTTPS) with client authentication
But client donu2019t want this procedure.
Here my question is How to enable the https Transport protocol in SOAP and HTTP Receiver adapters.

    >>Here my question is How to enable the https Transport protocol in SOAP and HTTP Receiver adapters.
What I see is your client wants PI to send communication via HTTPS transport protocol. That means you have to apply for trusted certificate and import that certificate root node in Netweaver keystore.
Then change the transport protocol from http to https in soap and http receiver communication channel and communicate to client via certificate authentication.
Plenty of documents available in sdn about https certificate authentication. Please go through those links.
check this thread.. might be helpful

  • Problems when using shared instances of struts and apache-commons?

I found this worrisome statement on this page (http://struts.apache.org/1.3.8/userGuide/configuration.html) regarding sharing jar files across multiple applications:
<i>When a class is loaded from a shared class loader, static variables used within that class become global as well. This can cause inter-webapp conflicts when the underlying code assumes that the statics are global only within a particular web applicaiton (which would be true if the class was loaded from the webapp class loader). There are many cases where the framework, and the Commons libraries it relies on, use static variables to maintain information that is presumed to be visible only within a single web application. <b>Sharing these JAR files can cause unwanted interactions, and probably cause incorrect behavior</b>.</i>
For those of you currently using Struts and Apache Commons (and perhaps other open source libraries) have you run into any issues when sharing the jars amongst multiple applications?
I would like to avoid having multiple applications loading their own copies of these libraries, for obvious reasons.  However, if there are issues with doing so, I may have to relax that position.

To answer my own questions, while we didn't run into any issues with sharing Struts, it may be a good idea to incorporate the libraries directly into the web app if suspicious behaviour is observed by the application.
Also, the taglib definitions could not be loaded from the referenced jar files - these had to be placed into the WEB-INF directory, which introduces a synchronization problem - you could conceivably have different versions of the tld's and the base libraries.
