Soap message context doesnt contain operation name

I deployed a simple web service to convert Fahrenheit to Celsius and vice versa and generated the client artifacts with wsimport. I have two handlers set up, one for the client that I created and one for the server. When I invoke a method the client handler fires but does not contain the key for wsdl_operation. The server side does however. Below is the code for the web service, client, and handler
WebService:
import javax.jws.WebMethod;
import javax.jws.WebService;
@WebService(name="Converter")
public class Converter
     @WebMethod(operationName="fahrenheitToCelsius")
     public double fahrenheitToCelsius(double f)
          return (f-32)*(5/9.0);
     @WebMethod(operationName="celsiusToFahrenheit")
     public double celsiusToFahrenheit(double c)
          return (9/5.0)*c+32;
}Client:
public class Client {
     public static void main(String args[])
          ConverterService cs = new ConverterService();
          Converter converter = cs.getConverterPort();
          //create service
          List<Handler> handlerChain =
             ((BindingProvider)converter).getBinding().getHandlerChain();
         ClientHandler sh = new ClientHandler();
         List<Handler> new_handlerChain = new ArrayList<Handler>();
         new_handlerChain.add(sh);
            ((BindingProvider)converter).getBinding().setHandlerChain(new_handlerChain);
            System.out.println(converter.celsiusToFahrenheit(32.0));
}Handler.handleMessage():
public boolean handleMessage(SOAPMessageContext arg0) {
          for (String a:arg0.keySet())
               System.out.println(a + " : " + arg0.get(a));
          return true;
     }Any idea why the client handler's message context does not contain an operation name? I have been passing it to the handler as i attach it to different services but its not really viable to have a different handler for each method in a service.

Not sure but you can give it a try.
you can set the log configuration level to TRACE 32 on your managed server where you have deployed your webserivce e.g soa_server1
Follow the steps to configure.
1. Right click your managed server in enterprise manager and choose Log > Log Configuration
2. Search for Webservices and View as Runtime Loggers Press the Play button
3. Set the level from NOTIFICATIONS (INFO) to TRACE32.
4. Stop your servers rename the log files and restart your managed servers to create new fresh logs.
Hope it helps,
Zeeshan

    Can someone explain the specs violation that provoked this exception! i am trying to understand where the DTD is in a sample application (SimpleStockQuote on the Apache Synapse doc) i am trying out to learn how to use Apache Synapse.
    Thank you

    Hi,
    I think it is a violation of the basic profile [1]. At the same, please let me know whether you are getting this error from Synapse or some other party due to Apache Synapse.
    I think if this is related to Apache Synapse, right place to post this would have been [[email protected]|mailto:[email protected]] mailing list.

  • Container Operation in BPM

    Hi,
    I have a BPM that should change a message with a container operation. The message got the structure:
    message
    |-errorcode
    is it possible to fill the errorcode (string) with a container operation? It is an abstract interface. Or is a container operation only possible with a simple xsd-data type?
    I tried it with an abstract interface, but don't understand how to fill the expression.
    thanks
    chris

    Ok, I guess this, but points for you.
    I tried now to do following:
    S/A-Bridge open -> transformation step -> S/A-Close
    In transformation I mapped request to response, but if I check the BPM he tells me, that the repsonse container is initializied, but not used ?!? Why? In closing S/A-Bridge I use the response.
    thanks

  • Container operation step in BPM using context object

    Hi all,
    in my BPM I have a send step using the file adapter. The file adapter builds a dynamic filename.
    Now I want to have the filename back into an acknowledgement. First, I need it in the container, right?
    So after the send step, I have a container operation step as follows:
    target: simple string
    mode: assign or append, doesn't matter
    expression: In expression editor, I select Interface variable 'message', then context object 'FileName' from namespace http://sap.com/xi/XISystem/File
    This should be the filename from the fileadapter, right?
    In SXI_Cache, I get return code 99:
    The Value of Expression '&MESSAGE.FILENAME&' Cannot Serve As the Source of an Assignment
    Why is there a context object, if you can' t use it??

    As far as I know, the filename in the Dynamic Header will be lost in when the message enters the BPM.
    As a work around, make a mapping at the Interface Determination level that reads the filename from the SOAP header and sets it into the payload which can be accessed inside the BPM.
    Reason the way I see this that the BPM does not store the filename is ,
    1. What if you have multiple receive steps in the BPM with a fork.
    2. How would the context object know which filename you want to read?
    The reason you see this in the context object is because all Context Objects are the info you get from the Adapter metadata.

  • How to Call web service operation by creating plain SOAP message in client?

    Hi
    Thank you for reading my post.
    I have some questions about using web methods of a web service which i would be very gratfull if you could answer.
    I should implement a web service that should receive a file with some other parameters from client and another web service which should receive some parameters and return a file.
    I used a mechanism like the following one to handle the condition and it just works. But I have a problem, I need to create dynamic invocation and I must create soap message and send it to webservice (no IDE generated code)
    What i need is one or two tips or a sample that shows how we can send and receive files by web services.
    I want to know how we can create the SOAP message ourself and then send it to the web service endpoint and it call the web method and ....
    Imagine the following web method, How i can invoke it by creating soap message myself and sending it to end point.
    @WebMethod
    public String saveFile(@WebParam(name = "fileName") String fileName, @WebParam(name = "fileContent") byte[] fileContent) {
    // TODO implement operation
    return "Something";
    Another question is :
    Does this mechanism that i used to transfer files is OK?
    Is it optimized or there are some other ways to do this job.
    I should say that i put one week on handlers to use soap attachments and i get no result.
    So, Please let me know if you know or have some sample that show me how to do the above job.
    Thanks.

    Hi
    From NW04s SP8 you can create webservice systems from within VC , and you will have the option of adding a user and password to authenticate. You can find it at Tools>>Define web service system. You will see a check box url requires user and password.
    If for some reason you can not do it in VC then you should create the system in the portal and fill out the usermapping screens.

    Hello Kai,
    They should not affect any further ME processes and you do not need to create them in Custom Data Maintenance - confirmations, scraps will work fine. I also don't think they are required at ECC side.

  • Context index and contains operator syntax how it works ?

    Hi

  • Accepting a SOAP message that contains fault elements

    Hi,
    I am trying to create a webservice that will accept a valid soap messages that
    contains faults. Actual functionality required is to accept a valid soap message
    with or without faults. For this, I created separate methods in my java class
    (one for normal flow and one that will handle fault elements) that implements
    my web service. I need to manipulate the soap message for both cases. Hence, I
    created separate handlers to do this task. I created two handler chains in my
    web-services.xml one for handling soap messages that contains faults and one for
    handling soap messages that doesn't contain faults. The web services was successfully
    deployed and works fine for soap messages that doesn't contain fault. But, if
    I send a soap message with faults the client (that calls my webservice) is not
    even hitting my web service. It gets a HTTP
    500. Can anybody help me on this ?
    Thanks,
    Ganesh Balachandran

    Hi Ganesh,
    Which version of weblogic server you are using? Can you turn on verbose in
    client side? You can give a "-Dweblogic.webservice.verbose=true" to client
    side JVM. We need to see what your soap message with fault looks like.
    Thanks,

    Here is the piece of code.
    MessageFactory msgFactory = MessageFactory.newInstance();

    mesg.setProperty(SOAPMessage.WRITE_XML_DECLARATION, "true");
    mesg.setProperty(SOAPMessage.CHARACTER_SET_ENCODING, "utf-8");

    envelope.setAttribute("xmlns:xsi","http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance");
    envelope.setAttribute("soap:encodingStyle","http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding");

    //SOAPMessage response = con.call(mesg, new URL(url));
    SOAPMessage response = con.call(mesg, url);

    Hi,
    Perhaps you can help.
    I've got a problem related to usage of SOAP in Java. I receive a file containing SOAP message with XML attachment. I store it on hard disk.
    Then I create a SOAP message as it is shown in source code below.
    When I try to get the attachment, the method doesn't return anything (the number of attachments is 0).
    If I pass to method createMessage value null instead of new MimeHeaders(), the result is the same.
    What can be the problem? How to solve it? Any idea?
    Looking forward any support.
    BR,
    rafikoko
    MessageFactory factory = MessageFactory.newInstance();
    SOAPMessage message = factory.createMessage(new MimeHeaders(), new FileInputStream(xmlFile));
    Iterator attachments = message.getAttachments();
    log4j.error("TEST:before while:"+message.countAttachments());
    while(attachments.hasNext()){
    log4j.error("TEST:while");
    Object finvoice = attachments.next();
    log4j.error("TEST:Finvoice:"+finvoice);
    }Below is my example soap message:

  • Can I create a SOAP message object from a string?

    can i create a soap message object in saaj with a string containing soap xml?
    I know messageFactory has a constructor that
    public abstract SOAPMessage createMessage(MimeHeaders headers, InputStream in)
    does anyone know how to use this? Specifically transform a SOAP message in string format to something i could pass this constructor.
    Is there a better way to do this?
    I'm not EVER going to use apache's tomcat or GLUE or anyting and need to send a soap message from a client to a server via SOAP. I need to be able to transfer a String SOAP document to something i can search for elements with.

    sorry for being critical but the tutorial you just linked to is for the most part USELESS. it doesnt deal with Java just what a SOAP message looks like. yeah, i get it, its like xml. now how do i do what i want to with saaj?
    something like
    String sm;
    sm = in.readLine(); //gives me a whole SOAP document (pretend)
    sm--->>>MAGIC------>>>>>MIMEHeaders headers & InputStream sm_in
    MessageFactory factory = MessageFactory.newInstance();
    SOAPMessage message = factory.createMessage(headers, sm_in);
    SOAPBody soapBody = message.getSOAPBody();
    Name bodyName = factory.createName("YUP","m","http://theinternet/YUP");
    Iterator iterator = soapBody.getChildElements(bodyName);
    SOAPBodyElement bodyElement = (SOAPBodyElement)iterator.next();
    String yup = bodyElement.getValue();
    System.out.println("YUP element of the SOAP document is " + yup);what is the MAGIC in the above code?

  • Calling a WS from a servlet...EndpointPort does not contain operation meta.

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to call a service from a servlet but I get an error:
    Error: Endpoint {http://com.susan/SusanWS}SusanWebServiceEndpointPort does not contain operation meta data for: LoginWebService
    ...the WS is up and running (of this I'm sure...cause I also tested it with soapui...and it works..)
    The webservice is running on a local jboss (to which i can successfully connect, and see the wsdl...).
    the servlet is running on a local tomcat (which is also ok...).
    I'm trying to call the WS like this:
    Service service = new Service();
    Call call = (Call)service.createCall();
    call.setTargetEndpointAddress( new URL( wsEndpoint ) ); //http://localhost:8080/webservices/SusanWS (the same I used in soapui...so it should be right)
    call.setOperationName( "LoginWebService"); //name of the method i want to use...
    call.addParameter( "appCode", Constants.XSD_STRING, ParameterMode.IN );
    call.addParameter( "login", Constants.XSD_STRING, ParameterMode.IN );
    call.addParameter( "passwd", Constants.XSD_STRING, ParameterMode.IN );
    //            call.setReturnType( Constants.XSD_INT ); //left this out...should be the cause...
    Object retval = call.invoke( new String[] { appCode, login, passwd} ); //appCode,login,passwd contain the strings i want to  forward as input.if I try to run it I get(in the jboss log...):

    Did anyone came across such issue while deploying Orchard on Azure with TF service? If yes, how did you sort this freaking error?
    Thanks,
    Altaf B.

    Hi AltafB,
    For your situation, you can short the path for the source code. Or use a short path for build agent folder in your build definition. You can refer to the links below to solve your problem:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/aaronhallberg/archive/2007/06/20/team-build-and-260-character-paths.aspx
    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/vstudio/en-US/1638a5f0-9321-4ff9-9ee7-6d347badb972/please-some-solution-to-the-specified-path-file-name-or-both-are-too-long?forum=tfsbuild
    Besides, since you deploy Orchard to Azure, you can also publish it directly using publish profile in Visual Stduio or WebMatrix directly.

  • Container operation issue

    Hello All,
    I have a questions on container operation of BPM.
    I want to capture a value in Rec step of my BPM and wanted to assign this value in last step i.e. send step.
    Can anyone let me know is it possible in BPM.
    How can we achive this.
    Regards,
    Vikrant

    Hello Vikrant,
    Wat i understood is, at present, your scenario is simply sending the IDoc that you are receiving in the Rec-Async step. Now you want to send the SOAP response along with the IDoc.
    Do you have any (empty) field in IDoc which can be used to capture the 4digit IDoc number?
    If yes, then you can achieve this thru a transformation step in between the Sync-send step and Async-Send(last) step. Use both IDOC structure and SOAP response structure as source messages and IDOC structure as target message. Map the IDoc number from SOAP response to any of the field in the target IDoc structure and map the rest of the fields in the target IDoc to the Source IDoc.
    Hope this helps.
    ~Praveen,

  • BPM Container operation not executed

    Hi
    We have a scenario where several Idocs are to be collected to one flat file. I have set up a time loop in BPM to receive idoc (abstract), map idoc to flat file, add flat file to flat_file_list (container operation, append). After 2 minutes the loop ends, and the flat_file_list is mapped to a flat file and sends the flat file to the connected legacy system, via the file adapter.
    Most of the process steps work just fine, but the files are not appended into one file. All mappings are correct, and the FTP adapter correctly sends the files to the FTP server.
    Using the Business Process Engine monitoring I see that all interfaces receive the messages, all mappings are done, but there are no steps for the container operation! Should this container operation be visible in the monitor?
    So it seems that everything is working except the bundling of messages. Does anyone have any experience with this?
    The container operation is setup as following:
    Step name: AddMsgToLst
    Target: FlatFileList
    Operation: Append
    Expression: FlatFile (which is the flat file I am mapping the idoc to)
    Any help is highly appreciated!
    Br
    Kenneth

    Hi Robin
    Thanks for your message. After I insert a new step and save the process, I can't activate the process from the sxi_cache. It says that the Cache entry for directory process is already up-to-date.
    I have tried both with activating first in repository and not activating the process, but in both cases the sxi_cache says it's up-to-date.
    Any suggestions?
    -Kenneth

    Hi,
    we are on pi 7.0 and our scenario is a async-sync bpm. In the sync soap message, the webservice raise an application error. In the response soap message we get the following detail tag:

    So I think the problem is due to the namespace length. I'm right?
    We can't change the consumed webservice to reduce namespace length and our customer ask us to solve it in PI. Is there any way to change the namespace before to be treated and get a correct application error?
    Thanks in advance,
    Marc

    Hi Neetesh,
    we developed our own adapter module. We use it in our receiver soap adapter, module tab, before and after the standard module sap.com/com.sap.aii.af.soapadapter/XISOAPAdapterBean.
    In this audit log secuence you can see that the problem seems not to be solved, because the error is triggered when processing response message inside adapter module sap.com/com.sap.aii.af.soapadapter/XISOAPAdapterBean, so our module is not called and the problem remains.
