If i testing the Error "GENERAL ERROR - PART UNKNOWN (NULL) occur. A payload trace with SRT_UTIL i show a correct response.

Hi
I'm sending the following SOAP request to a calendar web service to create an appointment in the calendar. The response returns what seems to be a syntax error ("The Create method did not have a proper element in the request") but I can't see the cause of the fault. Any suggestions on what it may be? It's an 11g DB.

Help: consuming an external web service with user name token

Hello Together!
I need to consume an external web service secured with WS-UserNameToken. The way, how did I do it:
1. I generated a web service consumer (proxy) in SE80 from the wsdl file
2. I created logical port for the consumer in SOAMANAGER
3. I created security profile in WSSPROFILE with telpmate SET_USERNAME and assigned it to consumer operation in LPCONFIG (I use LPCONFIG, because I didn't find any way to do it in SOAMANAGER)
3. I called the web service and got the error back: session token is missing or invalid or has inspired
My questions are:
1. is this possible to consume an external webservice in SAP, which is secured with WS-Usernametoken?
2. do I need therefore any settings in java stack? do I need java stack in general?
3. Is this any way to configure the consumer without writing programs, which set header parameter manually?
4. if the answer on the third question is no, do you have any examples, how to implement session management in report? (I mean sending session id and checking the validaty of id)

Hi,
it should be possible to use WS-UserNameToken for consuming web service. It should be available on AS BAP 7.0 and higher. This profile should be under category Document authentication. You can try to dump a message send from SAP to see what is going out of SAP. This should be supported in ABAP so you don't need a Java stack. What exactly do you want to configure? Do you want to just set user name and password for that service which will be used for any calls of that proxy?

Sending SSL Certificate to external Web service in BizTalk 2010

We are facing issues in calling the external web service(SAP I Web service) which is authenticated using the SSL self signed certificates.
When BizTalk sends the request to SAP it fails with HTTP 401 error, and in SAP PI the log says calling application not sending the client certificate. Please help us in sending the request to external web service by signing with the client
certificate.
Below are the details,
1. This is a 2-way SSL communication authenticating based on the client Certificate.
2. BizTalk server public key certificate is shared to SAP PI and using SAP PI certificate public key in biztalk

The reasons why the trigger from BizTalk is failing and the trigger from SoapUI is successful.
In SoapUI configuration we select the Private key of the client certificate and provide the password for the same.
In BizTalk we only have the option of selecting the certificate and we cannot provide the password. Below is the MSDN article for the same

Organization Security Restrictions::
Each organization may have restriction on using client certificates for security reasons . One such restriction is when a user requests a client certificate a password prompt is displayed . A client certificate can be used only if the correct password is provided
becuase Biztalk Server uses services and services cannot interact with dialog boxes so do not use client certificates requiring password validation.
To Prevent the issue , configure the policy so no password are prompted when a certificate is used this setting is enforced by the Group policy Object (GPO) system cryptography: Force strong Key protection for user keys stored on the computer . If setting
this policy , then the value should be set to "User input is not required when new keys are stored and used "
Kindly let us know whether setting needs to be done in the system cryptography

[JSR-172 Web Services] Error with some web services

I m trying to use jsr172 with multiple services find at Xmethods.com
- I choice only doc/litteral wsdl types ----> OK
- use of the J2ME Wireless Toolkit Stubs Generator ---> OK
- use the service stub generated to invoke the service -------> NOT OK
Some services runs correctly, but lots of service methods throw a java.rmi.MarshalException: Missing SOAP Body or Envelope
i.e: http://www.closerfar.com/dic2.asmx?WSDL
--> this has a method which return a definition of a word by a complex type
When I use the TryIt function in Xmethods.com, it's run!...
.... but not in my midlet

I have written a dot net/ c# Web Services doesn't fully work with J2ME client - it too throws the same exception, with the exception text being "Missing SOAP Body or Envelope"
a) c# web service works with c# WIndows Client (local & remote web service)
b) c# web service works with J2ME client - when the Web Service is local
c) c# web service FAILS with J2ME client - when the Web Service is remote
error/exception:
"Missing SOAP Body or Envelope" -- This occurs at the point of invoking the remote Web Service
Speculation:
a) dot net Web Services are "different" from Java Web services - yet it works fine in local mode
b) error is a misnomer & there is some other problem, perhaps fixable thru Web.config changes remotely??
- changed Web.Config authentication (from Windows to none), but this made no difference
- changed back to default web service namespace of tempuri.org, but this made no difference

Issue with calling an external web service using web service proxy

Hi,
I've created several web services using JDeveloper succesfully in the past, however I'm getting an issue with one that was working ok previously. Have spoken to the developers of the external web service and they say they haven't changed anything. Also if I test the external web service through soapUI for example it seems fine so it would seem that the issue is with the autogenerated code created by JDeveloper.
Basically I get the following exception as it sends the request to the external service:
java.security.PrivilegedActionException: javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: Message send failed: Bad Authentication header format: 'Basic realm="Integration Server" encoding="UTF-8"'
Expected "," at position 33
The user name/password appear correct.
JDev version 10.1.3.42.70
Any ideas?

Found the answer. Basically I had one proxy web service working and one not both linking to a middle tier written in web methods. THe issue actually ended up being with the web methods code in that the one web service (that was not working) was put together using a backwards compatability mode. Once this was switched back then started working again in JDev.

I just checked on a newer NW environment (NW 7.2) and was presented an empty list as well... It seems the mapping procedure I described is deprecated since NW 7.11, and the modeled CAF application service is already exposed as a web service.

Invoking an external web service through a JCD with Basic Authentication

Group,
I am trying to invoke an external web service (written in ASP.Net) from a jcd (5.1.2). The web service is guarded by Basic Authentication. I have entered the crudentials into the External Web service environment component and deployed the project. I receive the following error from the .invoke() method:
request requires HTTP authentication: Unauthorized
I have tried the same request through SoapUI using the same crudentials and get back the response correctly. Has anyone tried invoking an external web service with basic authentication through a jcd in 5.1.2 before?
One other item of note. I have another jcd calling a different external web service deployed on the same domain. I hope that this isn't interfering with the execution of this service as it doesn't require any crudentials to execute.

I am just starting to write a jcd that calls an external web service but cannot find any sample code nor instructions on how to do it in the supplied documentation. Could you send me a code sample from your one?

Integration of Oracle ATG with external web service

I am new to Oracle ATG 10.1 and am trying to integrate ATG with an external web service. I checked the documentation library and checked ATGWSFrameGuide but it only helped theoritically. Can anybody share any resource / docs to explain how to integrate ATG with web services.

There is no rocket science involved here. Just create a component whose properties file can contain the required properties like the wsdl path,etc. Create the stub classes out of the wsdl, jar it and place it in your classpath. Populating the request data into stub and invoking an operation will be similar to the one that we use in normal java while working with web services

Ws manager service fails with non-soap-response

I try to set up a service in wsm. Gateway, policy and service are defined via the defaults.
I can access my original service via BPEL and via the WSM test page, but calling the wsm service fails
with a non-soap-response error :

Human task flow call back events with external web service

Hi All,
I have a requirement to call webservice inside human task flow. I have three participant in my human task flow. Let suppose A, B and C. When A approves then task will be assigned to B and when B approves it will go for C.
My requirement is that, when A approves , then i need to call one external webservice to update database. For this i have enabled call back events from human task flow.
In this way i got while loop inside my BPEL. In onTaskAssigned operation i am now trying to call external web service. My requriment is to call external service and get data from service. After getting response from the webservice, i want to assign it to next participant.
But in this case, when user B approves, it goes to onTaskAssigned block and i am able to make external web service also but mean time, it has been assigned to User C which i do not want.
I want Human task flow to wait for the web service response then only assign it to next participant.

Have you tried using WebServices Adapter. The usecase seems pretty straight forward. You have a WebService that has some code and some Operations to update some Database. First thing, I hope you have methods/Operations defined with request and response xsd for each operation.
Now you define the main master payload, that should have all elements specific to your process and also few elements to store the output coming from each operation. Because response of each operation may need to go to other Task and get saved in the Payload also.
You have like 3 Tasks. To complicate, I will assume that each Task can either Approve or Reject. And last 2 Tasks gets data from payload, previous task and also output from the WebService Operation (method).
Task A -> Xor Gateway (Approve/Reject) -> If Approve -> Call WebServices Adapter -> Task B -> Xor Gateway(...) -> ......
At each intersection, you can map the attributes for incoming and outgoing. Based on WebServices output also, you can have Another XOR Gateway and decide to send to Task B or do something else. So combinations of outputs of each service (task or webservice adapter) and XOR gateways, you can have a decent control on the overall flow.
Note: I am hoping the webservices is Synchronous where you get the response immediately.

What is the best practice for integrating oracle atg with external web service? Is it using integration repository or calling the web service directly from the java class using a WS client?

Using Integration Repository might cause performance overhead based on the operation you are doing, I have never used Integration Repository for 3rd Party integration therefore I am not able to make any comment on this.
Calling directly as a Java Client is an easy approach and you can use ATG component framework to support that by making the endpoint, security credentials etc as configurable properties.

Accessing external web service with non-constant URL

Hello, all
I am looking in the documentation on accessing external web services, but either I am looking in the wrong place, or the documentatoin is lacking info.
My clients have several web services in the local network (regular services, not DB-based), the have the same interface, but different URL's.
Versions of the DB are 11, 12, and 16.
First of all, I do not see in the specs an option for a non-hardcoded URL. The logic says that this has to be possible, but I cannot find it.
Second, I need to see an example of accessing an XML or JSon based service, I cannot find it in the specs either.
Can anyone point me to a document with examples?

The following will call a web service with whatever URL you pass in as the argument "myurl". I think that is what you are looking for.
CREATE PROCEDURE cli_test2( myurl LONG VARCHAR )

To deal with the resulting data in XML, use the OPENXML() function.
eg. To turn an XML list of employees that looks like this:

into a table of results, you would do this (where xmlgetemplist() is the web service call):

Consuming an external web service with WAS 6.40

Hi all,
I know this thread isnt 100% XI forum related, my apologies for that. However, I believe somebody here has experience with this subject.
Im trying to consume an external web service through WAS 6.40 with se80. When I try to create my proxy object package Choose Create > Enterprise Service / Web Service > Proxy Object > URL type, I receive an error message (SPRX084) -> During proxy generation, an interface description in WSDL format is fetched from the integration builder or from another source and interpreted. This WSDL document must describe the whole interface correctly.
I dont have sure, but it seams something within WSDL object/element. Nevertheless, these external web services are working well with other third party client applications, why SAP WAS cant take this WSDL?
Anyone has faced an issue like this one?

Hi,
some tools do not generate WSDLs correcty (not with all the standards
or with obsolete parts) and then in ABAP you cannot generate a proxy from it
you should be able to see the some more details in disgnosis section
sometimes you just have to change one or two things in the WSDL
and it will be ok for WAS but you need to find the exect cause
of the error - it can be done by debugging
