  • SOAP synchronous channel specific call time out configuration

    Hi,
    This is regarding channel specific timeout configuration in SOAP sender and receiver channel.
    We are having SOAP to Proxy synchronous web services. One of the web service is taking longer to execute the RFC's in ECC and getting the results back to PI.
    The error we are getting is Message Expired in soap ui and PI logs.
    When I checked the execution time it says 301165 ms from soap ui.
    The default setting of XI is 180000 ms i.e 3 mins.
    I configured channel specific time out in both sender and receiver channels. Now the configuration has timeout of 600000 ms. Below is the screen shot.
    SENDER:
    RECEIVER:
    But still the message is getting timed out and below is the error:
    Unable to contact target server XXXXXXXX:8000 after 1 tries.
    Below is the error log from PI :
    Please suggest the solution. I am not sure whether its actually  taking the specific configured time.
    Thanks,

  • SOAP to RFC sync scenario

    Hello members:
    we have a business scenario: SOAP to RFC sync
    an external system (ABC) sends documentrequest thru XI SOAP adapter and makes an RFC call to a BAPI and gets back the resposne to the ABC system.we are handling 4 mappings. 1. request msg to a common msg 2. common msg to BAPI request3.bapi response to common msg 4. common msg to response msg(which is same as the req msg)
    i have the request msg and common msg as external definitions. I did the following steps and wanted to
    know if i am right.
    1. there are no data type & msg type needed for this
    2.  4 msg interfaces
    i)  document o/b sysnc
    ii) document i/b sync
    iii)common o/b sync
    iiii) common i/b sync
    3) 4 mappings
    i) document to common
    ii) common to bapi req
    iii) bapi resp to common
    iiii) common to req/response
    4) 3 intf mappings
    source intf**********               target intf
    i)document o/b               common o/b uses mapping #1
    ii)request :common i/b         bapi i/b  uses mapping #2
       resposne:bapi i/b           common i/b uses mapping #3
    iii) common i/b             document i/b uses mapping # 4
    pls provide your inputs if my approach is rite? do i need to have 4 msg intefaces?has any made mappings where 4 mappings are involved ( without BPM)
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    I think you will have only 2 interfaces.
    1. Sync Outbound interface (SOAP Structure)
        Two message types Req and Res
    2. Sync Inbound interface (RFC Structure)
        Two message types Req and Res
    Then two message mapping
    1. SOAP Request  to RFC Request
    2. RFC Response to SOAP Response
    and finally one Interface mapping.

  • SOAP to RFC - Sync Scenario. How to find where the response is going to?

    Hello All
    I have a SOAP to RFC sync scenario.
    In SXMB_MONI,  i see that both the initial message and the response message are successfully processed.
    But, the SOAP sender is not receiving the response message.
    How can i trouble shoot this scenario? How can i findout what is going wrong?
    Most importantly, How can i find out the web address of the SOAP sender? I do not see it anywhere.
    Thanks

    Hi Chandra,
    Please check this blog.
    /people/shabarish.vijayakumar/blog/2008/01/08/troubleshooting--rfc-and-soap-scenarios-updated-on-20042009
    You can by pass your message through a TCPIP gateway , this will help you to see the message contnet and the SOAP header information.
    TCPIPGW application is availabel in one of the SAP notes for Monitoring SOAP adapter. and 2 SAP SDN PI  blogs are also there on how to use this application...

    Regards,
    Kiran Polani

    Dear All,
    This is clearly soap to rfc interface and we are using currently PI 7.0. This is a validation of BAPI, BAPI is not accepting the field of "Quantity is some value". The quatity is greater than the amount BAPI is throwing an error like "APPLICATION_ERROR". Is it possbile to validate in XI Level.
    Soap --> XI--> BAPI(Request)
    BAPI--> XI-->Soap(Response)( in this step what ever message return by bapi those error message not getting 3 rd party application).
    here by catching that error and i should throw to 3rd party application.
    is it possible to handle this or not.?
    If it is possible in Fault Mapping/Fault message type please give me the steps or document for me.
    I am new for fault mapping?
    Please help me on this.

  • RFC Sync Call

    Hello All,
    I am new the SAP-ABAP and XI environment.
    I am integrating HCM-Payroll/GL Posting to FI.
    i add BAPI_ACC_EMPLOYEE_EXP_CHECK a special method call at BD97.  Since i need to check before create the IDOC i add as RFC Sync.
    Then I ran the report RPCIPE00.  I am getting following the error message.
    The error Message.
    "The function module "BAPI_ACC_EMPLOYEE_EXP_CHECK" has been called remotely and has generated a progam termination in the receiving system "XI_XD1". For more information, see the dump analysis in the receiving system."
    Could you please guide what i am doing wrong.
    If i remove the BAPI from BD97 then the documents are created but no messages on SXMB_MONI.
    Thanks

    Hi SV,
    logging for synchronous messages is turned off by default but you can activate it by :-
    TCODE
       SXMB_ADM
         -> Integration Engine Configuration
          -> Specific Configuration
    Add the entry
    <u><b>Category                            Parameters                         Value</b></u>

  • SOAP-XI-RFC sync without BPM scenario: How to catch timeout exception in PI

    Hi all
    I made a scenario where a Webservice request was placed via XI to RFC in CRM.
    This is all done without BPM.
    Now the request came up that I have to handle undhandled exceptions from RFC such as Fatal Error, Dump in CRM etc in PI so that customer can get the idea of what happend in the Backend rather PI failing in the monitoring. I did that in CRM by catching all the exception and sending a common error message to PI.
    But another requirement is to handle Message Timeout of the RFC in PI for e.g. If the request goes to the RFC and due to the volume of the data, it gets Timed Out then neither PI nor CRM can handle this and it results in PI failing to catch this excpetion.
    I tried Fault message type but that does not help either.
    Can I get some expert advice.
    Regards
    Naina

    Include your Send_to_RFC step inside a Block...have a deadline branch for this and an Exception Branch....in deadline branch have control step (thro Exception)....in Exception Branch have a Mapping and a Send Step....this mapping will produce a message (define separate DT for this) having constant values (like timeout occured message)
    If you are fine with alert message...then instead of Mapping and Send step in Exception include a Control Step (thro alert)....alert message can be "timeout occured in receiving RFC response"

    Hi Nagaraju,
    Try the InvocationModifier below. It worked for Adaptative Web Service Models.
    import com.sap.tc.webdynpro.model.webservice.api.IWDWSInvocationModifier;
    YourModel yourModel = new YourModel();
    //Request structure
    request_GetTransfers = new Request_GetTransfers(yourModel );
    //Change request's default socketTimeout to the value you want to (in miliseconds).
    request_GetTransfers.wdSetInvocationModifier(new IWDWSInvocationModifier() {

    @ Ajith Chandran;
    Hello Ajith, What do you mean by implementing the note 1004167?
    Sorry, I just took over the SAP MAM project here at work. And so far its been very chaotic, most of the time the Mobile phones work and then they dont. : (. A big problem has been that the synchronization never stops. It just keeps on refreshing and only a reset start will stop it. This has led to the phones not being able to synchronize again, and in most cases have been factory reset. I am guessing by limiting the synchronization time, I can relieve this problem.
    Anyways, I would appreciate if you told me what you meant by implementing the note 1004167. Because I just started with SAP its taking me awhile to get used to the jargon.
    Greetings

  • Reg: JDBC -- RFC Sync call

    Hi All,
    I have created a scenario between JDBC and SAP, which is a synchronous communication. In SXMB_MONI and in communication channel monitoring it is successful. JDBC synchronous communication channel is able to fetch the data, However it is not able to push the data to AS400 DB2 database. Can anybody suggest regarding the same. (I want to avoid BPM)
    Regards,
    Venu V

    Thats the way SAP has implemented JDBC adapter.
    May be the reason could be that opening a JDBC connection and waiting for a response would increase the performance overhead highly. To avoid this JDBC connection are made async so that once the message is sent, the database connection is closed and table could be used for other transactions maintaining the integrity of data.

    Hi All,
    My Scenario is Database --> PI (7.1) --> SOAP (synchronous) .
    The WebService is taking around 15 mins for giving the Response back to PI SOAP Adapter.But, because of Time Out at the PI SOAP Receiver adapter , I am getting "INBOUND EXPIRED" error.

    "java.lang.NullPointerException

    the only possible solution found till now  through forum is to apply SAP NOTE 1239995. As it is confirmed that SAP note 1239995 is already in the system , request you to post it to SAP for getting any OASIS note . I am also posting the message to SDN forum to get some help.
    We are able to connect to the integration server, but are unable to connect through the communication channel.
    Is there any othere OASIS notes need to be applied here? Or any other information is need which i am missing ?

    You are in the right track. Looks like you need latest service pack for the soap channel.  Follow this thread...

  • SOAP - XI - RFC.  XI not perform Adapter call after Technical Routing.

    Hi, All!
    I have a problem with XI.
    My configuration (all calls are synchronous):
    SOAP adapter -> XI mapping -> RFC adapter call to R/3
    Most of the time it's works correctlly!
    But some times XI does not call outbound RFC adapter after "Technical Routing". And there is no error in XI Monitor, but this XML message marked like "scheduled". So the SOAP adapter returns "Timeout error".
    I have compared messages in XI monitor for a successful call and a unsuccessful one. There is no difference in "Routings" and "Mapings" they are the same, except for in the unsuccessful message no "Adapter call" at all!
    Do you know how to solve such a problem?
    Thank you!!

    try to register all queues in SXMB_ADM -> Manage queues.
    I think that should help you solve the issue.
