Soft Home & Lock buttons kinda like Assistive Touch

I'm looking for an app that will create buttons that float on the screen like the Assistive Touch buttons do.
However instead of all the features and buttons that Assistive Touch gives you.
I only want a home and lock button.
I picture them being attached together about half the size of the Assistive Touch home button.
But that acts and floats just like the current Assistive Touch button does.
They would simply take the place of the home and lock buttons.
So said another way once installed and turn on you would have two buttons that float on the screen.
That can be moved around on the screen and cling to the edeges of the screen.
When other activities are being used they would become transparent, just as the Assistive Touch button does.
But when pressed they would be as if hitting the home button or the locking the phone, and turing off the screen.
It seems odd that this has not been created yet.
While one is touching the screen for everything else it seems
odd that you would all of a sudden have to reach for real buttons on the unit.

No such app exisits or can exist.  Apple doesn't allow 3rd party apps to access core functions of the phone.  Time to get your phone replaced or repaired if assistive touch doesn't needs your needs.

My lock button on my ipod touch doesnt work anymore please help it works fine otherwise well and the battery is all the sudden dying really fast and these 2 problems started at the same time.

    - When you depress the button does it feel like it is working?  Could something gotten in the space and jammed the button?
    - Can you reset the iPod:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Have you tried restoring the iPod from backup via iTunes on your computer.
    - Next would be to restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod
    - Last, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • My iPhone 4 lock button feels like there's something underneath it?!, My iPhone 4 lock button feels like there's something underneath it?!

My Black iPhone 4's lock button feels like there's something underneath it when I press it. No water has been in contact with my device at all, and I'm certain of it! I don't know what to do! Should I take it to the Apple Store or see if it stops? I've still got warranty so I can take it back but it would be a problem as the nearest Apple Store is in Manchester and I have no transportation lately as train costs and no car. Thank you!!

If it is a hardware problem, that means that one of the physical parts inside the phone is defective. This is opposed to a software issue, meaning that there is a problem with the operating system (iOS) and not the phone. Since the power button is a physical part of your phone, it is hardware.

  • Has anybody else been having issues with their home button after using assistive touch for a little while?

Me and my brother have been messing with Assistive Touch on and off since iOS 5 canme out. We been noticing that when we actually move to use the home button, sometimes it doesnt respond. Though I'm all for thinking my home button my be on the fritz, it wouldnt explain how mine and my brother suddenly have issues with our home buttons at the same time. Both of us had a time where the home button didnt respond at all. and its been intermittent ever since. Anybody that has an answer or another case like this I' d like some information

    Reset Home button steps:
    (1) Tap Settings App, when it is open:
    (2) Hold Power button until "slide to power off" bar appears.
    (3) Don't slide it, release power button.
    (4) Gently, continuously press Home button for few seconds until home screen appears.
    (5) Done.
If this does not help, further points to Hardware Problem.

  • Ipod touch is frozen and the home/lock button combination does not reset it

The ipod is not responding. I tried holding the lock/home button combo for more than 30 seconds. The screen will go turn all white then all black every five to ten seconds during the reset procedure. I hooked up to the PC and it did sync with computer. Since the display does not work, I cannot do anything else with the ipod. Please save me. My daughter is very upset.
I updated the OS very recently and I am sure it is the latest but I cannot see the ipod. Itunes says it is current though.

  • My power button / lock button on my ipod touch is stuck what do i do?

    ^^^^^^

Believe it or not, if the power button is not related to a more serious issue. You can take it to an Apple Store, remember to set a genius appointment at http://www.apple.com/retail/,  and get it unstuck for free, or call 800-676-2775 for help. If its more of an issue, they will tell you at the store and how much it will cost to repair if your device isn't under warranty. Also, you can trade it in for credit toward a new ipod touch. Hope this helps.

  • My iphone 4 died, it won't turn on, it won't charge, it isn't being recognized by my computer. Holding the home  lock buttons isn't working. I can't restore it because it won't show up in iTunes. All I see is a red battery sign. Help?

My iPhone 4 has gone completely dead and is unresponsive. Can anyone help?

I would never recommend tinyumbrella. I've had to respond to hundreds of posts from people who used it and found the it trashed the network database on their computer.
If you can't recover using approved methods rather than hacking your phone (which is what tinyumbrella does) then you've probably got a hardware problem.
So what should you do? First, connect it to a charger for 15 minutes. If it doesn't recognize the charger try a different one and a different cable. Then hold the HOME and SLEEP buttons at the same time until an Apple logo appears. Hold up to 1 minute. If nothing happens your phone really is broken, either a broken connector or a bad battery.
If you DO get some response see this: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
Of course, if you have already tried tinyumbrella this won't work until you repair the damage to your network database on your computer. But we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

  • IPhone 4 lock button broken, won't turn on

iPhone 4 lock button broken, used assistive touch for the last several months. Today iPhone turned off in my pocket and is unresponsive to even plugging it into charger. Is there any way to get it to restart?

There is nothing you can do as you won't be able to reset the device.
You can wait until the battery goes flat then try connecting it to power so it restarts. If the same issue occours then you'll need to restore it on iTunes by entering recovery mode.

  • IPhone 5 Lock button problem

Hello , i am new to this country (India) i am from Dubai before coming here i bought myself an iPhone5 and its been around 3 months i am having trouble with my lock button. It wont work on the first tap i have to press it on some angle or sometimes tap many times to make it work.Where can i get my phone fixed and will my warranty work here in this country?

Until you get your Warranty and repair issues sorted, try to protect your Lock Button. Use Assistive Touch when convenient. Settings App > General > Accessibility > Assistive Touch > ON > tap screen white button > Device > Lock Screen. This can even be used to turn iPhone OFF. To turn ON if needed, just connect iPhone to power, charger or USB of computer.

  • My iPhone won't turn on and my lock button is broken so I can't do the lock/home button restore, what do i do?

My Iphone isn't responding to anything, and I can't do the home/lock button restore becasue my lock button is broken and I've been using assistive touch. Any ideas as to how to turn it back on?

Try plugging it into the charger. Unfortunately, without a functioning sleep/wake button, it will be diffucult to do a number of troubleshooting steps. See if it will start that way. If not, you may need to leave it for a period to see if the battery will die out and then plugging it in may restart it. Otherwise, you will need to take the device to Apple to see about repair/replacement.

  • Unresponsive touch and broken lock button.

My iPhone lock button has recently broken. I have arranged to get my lock button fixed but the touch has stopped responding. I cant even use the phone at all but not sure what to do!

I honestly thought I was the only person to have this problem.  I've been locking my phone with Assistive Touch since about 3 months after I got my iPhone 4 2 years ago.  The spring in the sleep/wake button busted, so I've used Assistive Touch for everything from screen locking to screen shotting.  Well, right now my phone is charged, but the screen continues to stay blacked out no matter how many times I tap the home button.  I can't try doing the reset thing holding the sleep/wake button and the home button at the same time because the sleep/wake button has been busted for years.  The most curious thing is that when I plug my phone into the charger, and my phone is set to vibrate using the little switch on the side, the phone actually vibrates and responds as though the phone is still operational, but nothing comes up on the screen.  I tried connecting my iPhone 4 with iTunes as well, and it prompted me to respond on my phone to allow iTunes to access my phone.  Well, nothing showed up on the screen on my phone, and pressing the home button was fruitless.
I had my friend call my phone earlier, and it rang, made all the ringtone noise and everything, but nothing appeared on the screen for me to accept the call.  Additionally, my screen was blacked out for about 12 hours, being it happened about 2AM last night and randomly came back to life for about 20 minutes this afternoon before this phone decided to be stubborn again and unresponsively blackout.  I've already made an appointment at the Genius Bar tomorrow, but I just wanna say, 16boweh, we're in the same boat.  Hopefully Apple can give us a few oars (that hopefully neither of us will have to pay for (lol)).

  • Lock button on ipod touch is broken? What to do to fix it?

The home button and the lock button on my ipod touch have stopped working. I am now stuck on the page I was on when they were working. Can anyone help me fix this? Thanks

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
