[SOLVED] building SAGA GIS with wxgtk 3.0.0 causes compile errors

My pkgbuild is on pastebin that I'm using to update saga-gis 2.1.1 and it won't compile against wxgtk 3.0.0
My compile output and the resulting error is on pastebin too.
I've been told that this could be because saga-gis is looking for or referencing the old wxgtk2.8 libs but I can't tell why.
I have the following packages related to wxwidgets installed on my Arch box:
1 extra/wxgtk 3.0.0-2 [installed]
GTK+ implementation of wxWidgets API for GUI
2 extra/wxgtk2.8 2.8.12.1-1 [installed]
GTK+ implementation of wxWidgets API for GUI
4 extra/wxpython 3.0.0.0-2 [installed]
A wxWidgets GUI toolkit for Python
5 extra/wxpython2.8 2.8.12.1-1 [installed]
A wxWidgets GUI toolkit for Python

Yup, saga compiles against wxgtk when it's built without the --enable-slt flag. Luckily for me, saga-gis is the only package I have that relies on wxgtk>=3.0.0 so it shouldn't be affected.

  • [solved] building a package with bjam

    Hello all,
    I'm trying to figure out how to create a package that builds with bjam. When I build the package manually, I only need to run
    ./bjam --prefix=/usr --with-feature1 --with-feature2 ...etc
    and the binaries are created correctly. I need to use "./bjam" because the project supplies its own version of bjam to reassure compatibility with its code.
    When I use the same command inside the PKGBUILD, compilation starts fine and in the end I get an error in the build() function, without further explanations.
    Since I'm not at all familiar with bjam, can anyone point me to some sample PKGBUILDs or give me some tips how to create the PKGBUILD?
    TIA
    EDIT: It seems no special procedure is needed. The problem occurs due to a failure in the bjam build which forces makepkg to abort.

    The pkgtools package will do this for you.
    See https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pkgtools for instructions on how to set it up.

  • [SOLVED] building mysql-workbench with lib32-libpng12

    i installed the mysql-workbench package because i want a gui interface for making query tables (from large database and non-repetitive queries):
    $ pacman -Ss mysql-workbench
    community/mysql-workbench 5.1.18-1
    MySQL Workbench is a cross-platform, visual database design tool developed
    by MySQL.
    however, running the app gives the following error:
    $ mysql-workbench
    /usr/bin/mysql-workbench-bin: error while loading shared libraries: libpng12.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
    looking for a solution gives:
    $ pacman -Ss libpng
    extra/libpng 1.4.0-2
    A collection of routines used to create PNG format graphics files
    community/lib32-libpng 1.4.0-2 (lib32)
    A collection of routines used to create PNG format graphics files
    i cant use libpng12 because i am running x86_64.  as far as i can tell lib32-libpng12 should satisfy the dependency.  however i still run into the error after installing this package and re-installing mysql-workbench.  is there a configuration file somewhere that i can edit to tell the app that it needs lib32-libpng12 not libpng12?  also, what is the reason that libpng (already installed) cannot be used instead of libpng12?  is it possible that libpng12 is inaccessible due to the presence of libpng?
    Last edited by poopship21 (2010-02-08 01:14:27)

    you don't need any libpn12 or lib32-libpng12.
    mysql-workbench doesn't even link it to libpng and other dependency is linking to it.
    mysql-workbench is linking to /usr/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0 (gtk2) who link to cairo, who needs libpng.
    you have other cairo package installed? pacman -Qs cairo. if so, is your job to rebuild any unsupported packages

    You right, but you know... I have a lot projects in queue and not have time to search and test evertying

  • Flex 2 with AS 3.0: Transitions code compilation error

    I just bought "The Essential Guide to Flex 2 with
    ActionScript 3.0. (Friends of Ed 2007) In order to work through the
    examples, I downloaded Flex 3.0 beta. Its been going well ... until
    starting the exercises on transitions.
    I've narrowed the problem down to the "relativeTo" attribute
    of the AddChild class. This snipped builds and runs fine:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <mx:Application xmlns:mx="
    http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml"
    layout="absolute">
    <mx:states>

    However, as soon as I add relativeTo, e.g:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <mx:Application xmlns:mx="
    http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml"
    layout="absolute">

    Flex Builder 2 gives me the following error:
    Type was not found or was not a compile-time constant.
    Thinking this might have been a bug with Flex 3.0, I
    uninstalled then installed the most recent release of version 2. I
    still get the same problem. Any ideas?

    Another possibility is that you used some kind of transition for the object but didn't name it in all of the keyframes.  When you transition an object in a timeline tween and don't name it in the first keyframe, the latter keyframes adopt that lack of a name event though you might assign a name in them.
    What you should do is go into your Publish Settings and in the Flash section select the option to Permit Debugging.  This will add a line number following the frame number in the error message.  Once you know which line is causing the problem, try tracing the object that is in that line.  You will most likely find out it is null, and it will be because of one of the reasons I've mentioned (I don't think I forgot any others, but it's possible).

  • Class with interface, extends Sprite, but get compile error accessing "visible"

    Here is the situation:
    - Class MyLoader extends Sprite implements ILoader
    The class extends Sprite and works perfectly.
    var _loader:DisplayObject = new MyLoader();
    _loader.visible = true;
    Works perfectly.
    var _loader:ILoader = new MyLoader();
    _loader.visible = true;
    Casts a compiler error. Cannot access static property "visible" to a ILoader etc. etc.
    Doesn't make much sense to me, since the class extends a Sprite anyway...
    Am I missing something?
    thanks
    Filippo

    cast _loader as a Sprite (or DisplayObject);
    the flash compiler needs help remembering what's what.
    var _loader:ILoader=...
    Sprite(_loader).visible=true;

  • How can I build a table with the time values of a timer from a while loop

    Hi:
    I have a question concerning building a table:
    Every 100ms I read a value from a sensor (while loop with a timer). I would like to build a table with the actual time and the concerning value. For example:
    0msec         1V
    100msec     2V
    200msec     3V
    300msec     4V
    etc.
    If I use the Express VI for building a table, I always get the date and time, but I don't need the date and the time is in the following format: HH:MMS, which is nonsensical for me as I can't differentiate within msec. Can I change the format anywhere?
    Can I also save the table to a file or even to an Excelsheet? How can I do that?
    Thanks for your help!

    Hi Craig:
    thank you very much. To solve the mystery : ) :
    I want to drive a stepper motor with a specific frequency. To get the current degree value of the motor I would like to measure the current time (from the beginning of the move on). (With a formula I get the degree value out of the time)
    Concurrently I would like to get data from a torque sensor and from a pressure sensor. That's why I asked you about the time and the table. The measurement should start with the movement of the motor. How can I do that? Right now I have different block diagrams (different while loops) (see attachment) and I would like to put them in one.
    I haven't done the block diagram for the pressure sensor yet, so there is only the one for the torque sensor and the one for the motor.
    I also would like to set a mark in the table when the voltage value of an analog input gets under a specific threshold value. Is that possible?
    I'm sorry, I'm a novice in LabVIEW. But maybe you can help me.
    Thank you very much!

    Sans,
    I am no Apex expert, but with a situation as "complex" as yours, have you thought about creating a VIEW that joins these 7/8 tables, placing an INSTEAD OF trigger on that view to do all the business logic in the database, and base your application on the view?
    This is the "thick-database" approach that has been gaining momentum of late. The idea is to put your business logic in the database wherever possible, and let the application (Form, Apex, J2EE, whatever) concentrate on UI issues,

  • Building weblogic ejbs with ant...

    Hi, it may be not the proper place, but I haven't found a better one...
    Here comes my question:
    I have an ant build.xml file where I have the following tasks defined:
    <property name="ejb.dtd.location" value="weblogic/ejb/deployment/xml/ejb-jar.dtd"/>
        <condition property="ejb.dtd.location" value="weblogic/ejb20/dd/xml/ejb11-jar.dtd">
          <equals arg1="${weblogic.major.version}" arg2="6"/>
        </condition>
        <property name="weblogic.ejb.dtd.location" value="weblogic/ejb/deployment/xml/weblogic-ejb-jar.dtd"/>
        <condition property="ejb.dtd.location" value="weblogic/ejb20/dd/xml/weblogic510-ejb-jar.dtd">
          <equals arg1="${weblogic.major.version}" arg2="6"/>
        </condition>
    <!-- compiles EJBs -->
      <target name="compile.ejb" depends="init">
        <javac srcdir="${srcDir.ejb}"
              destdir="${srcDir.ejb}"
                debug="${npm.debug}">
          <classpath id="ejb.cpath">
             <pathelement path="${weblogic.sp.path}"/>
             <pathelement path="${weblogic.core.path}"/>
             <pathelement location="${outDir.core}${file.separator}npm.jar"/>
             <pathelement location="${srcDir.ejb}"/>
           </classpath>
        </javac>
      </target>
      <!-- delivers EJBs -->
      <target name="make.ejb" depends="prepare, compile.ejb">
        <!-- ejbc 'n jar 'em -->
        <ejbjar srcdir="${srcDir.ejb}">
           <weblogic destdir="${outDir.ejb}"
                     compiler="${compiler.ejb}"
                     keepgeneric="false"
                     suffix=".jar"
                     args="-g -nowarn"
                     oldCMP="false">
             <classpath refid="ejb.cpath"/>
           </weblogic>
           <include name="**/*-ejb-jar.xml"/>
           <exclude name="**/*-weblogic-ejb-jar.xml"/>
           <!-- WLS v5 DTDs!!! -->
           <dtd publicId="-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Enterprise JavaBeans 1.1//EN"
                location="${ejb.dtd.location}"/>
           <dtd publicId="-//BEA Systems, Inc.//DTD WebLogic 5.1.0 EJB//EN"
                location="${weblogic.ejb.dtd.location}"/>
        </ejbjar>
      </target>This should build my ejbs with either the wls61 ejbc or the wls51 one. Anyway ant seems to have problems finding the local dtds in the classpath, although this is specified in the documentation. When I set both location attributes to point to files it works perfect. The problem is that these are in weblogic.jar for the wls61 release. This has two solutions, but either are bad in my opinion:
    1. extract the needed dtds to a temp dir with a jar task and then delete em...
    2. put the proper wls.jar in the classpath so ejbc could automatically resolve the dtds
    Can anyone help or may be send his ant build file, where a <dtd> nested element is used for <ejbjar> for wls61?
    Thank you in advance
    Anton

    Anton,
    Your second solution is the correct one. If you look at dtd element description under ejbjar task in the Ant manual, you'll see that vendors jars are required in Ant's classpath in order for ejbjar task to resolve DTD dependencies, in which case you don't need to specify dtd elements. I don't particularly like it either. If you find a better way to solve this problem, let me know.

    I am unable to register by Adobe flash builder 4.7 with the key i got from complimentary upgrade to Adobe Flash Builder 4.5
    Please help

    Kind of.  I never actually solved the bug, but I did make it past the install.
      Upon running Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 Plug-in Installer it appeared to crash and only load a blank screen with a single unclickable button.  It wasn't actually "hanging", and would react when I clicked on the program menu and moused over "Services".  This would allow my clicks and keystrokes to register with the program, but only after I mouse over the "Services" menu item.  For example, you need to click "okay", then mouse over "Services".  When you want to enter text you need to click in the text box, and mouse over "Services".  Then you need to type the text you want, and mouse over "Services" to see the text appear.  It's a PITA, but you can get through the install by doing this.
      After installing the FB plug-in starting eclipse with editors open appeared to cause errors.  If this happens, this is because it seems that FB attempts to load when eclipse starts up.  Close all editors and restart eclipse.  The Welcome page for FB may pop open up.  At the bottom there is a check box that will keep that form loading - check it.  If the page does not open when eclipse starts, then open up an MXML file.  The Welcome page should load, and you can check the box.
    I hope this helps you move forward.  Also, if you find an actual solution please let me know.

  • [SOLVED]Building in a Clean Chroot error: Build failed, check ~/build

    Hello everyone
    I am trying to build qt4 and qtwebkit in clean chroot but when I run makechrootpkg (according to DeveloperWiki:Building in a Clean Chroot) I get an error message:
    $ sudo makechrootpkg -c -r /home/zuargo/chroot/
    ==> Creating clean working copy...done
    ==> ERROR: Build failed, check /home/zuargo/chroot/zuargo/build
    As you see chroot directory is contained in my home folder.
    I have checked /home/zuargo/chroot/zuargo/build and I see just the PKGBUILD and another random file (it depends on the package to build). No useful information.
    I have made twice the chroot directory and in both times I get the same error.
    Does somebody have any idea on how to solve this trouble or how to get information related to the error?
    Thanks in advance

    Thank you
    I have new information.
    Searching for information on the forum (this one) I have found this thread: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1260353
    The user that started the topic, had (or have) a very similar issue. At the first post, he says has fixed the problem by downgrading the package devtools to the version 20120720. So then, I did the same thing.
    I had installed devtools 20130408 and in the cache of Pacman, I have the version 20130127, 20130122, 20121115, 20121027, 20121013, 20120720 of this package. I have downgraded to all these versions of devtools, one by one. In some cases, after downgrading and by creating the chroot directory I got errors, either with the package systemd or with the package filesystem. In the first case, the error did not affect the creation fo the chroot directory. In the second case (with filesystem), creating the directory was not successful, getting an error message (see below).
    I proceed to list each devtool package (its version) and the error I have got, when I tried to create the chroot directory:
    > devtools-20120720-1-any.pkg.tar.xz
    systemd's error:

    Error by building packages with makechrootpkg into the chroot directory:

    As see, the only one package that allows me to build into chroot directory with no errors is devtools-20120720.
    Now I can build packages into a clean chroot directory. But I can't update devtools.

  • Build Surface app with Surface sdk 2.0 ?

    Hi All,
    I need to build an application with Visual Studio 2013. and deploy it on Surface 2.0
    I need to have Data storage (MS SQL).
    What are the components that I need to build and deploy such app?
    Thanks
    Moahamd

    I posted this solution on another thread -- copied here for you:
    SOLVED.
    First, look at your ad-hoc provisioning file in text edit (just view it, don't overwrite it!)
    If it does NOT contain a line that says "<key>get-task-allow</key>" then you need to go to the program portal and get a NEW ad-hoc provisioning profile. There is a workaround where you can use the provisioning profile without this key, but Apple apparently has added this key to the ad-hoc provisions, and you might as well have the latest.
    However, that is not the final fix.
    The next thing you have to do is add a new file to the root of your project ... file, new file, iphone, code signing, entitlements. Call it "dist.plist" ...
    Open that file, and it will say "get-task-allow" with a checkmark for "true" -- this needs to be FALSE. Uncheck the checkbox, or if in text mode, type in "false"
    OK, almost there!!!
    Open the target build info window and where it says "Code Signing Entitlements" add "dist.plist"
    CLEAN THE BUILD
    BUILD AND GO
    ENJOY.
