Some trick to create dependent list values?

I just join to numbers's world. I'm trying to create two list of values that allows to choose values in the second one that depend on the first value, for instance, my first list of value have two items: target1 and target2; if I choose target1, in the second list of value the systems only has to allow me choose destiny1 or destiny2; if I choose target2 the second list of value shows me destiny3 and destiny4 to select one of them.

This feature is something Numbers was not designed to do. Since Numbers doesn't really have dynamic pop-up menus this is one of those features that one might be able to implement but it would never be usable or elegant.

Hi,
I think that all you need to do is to look at how I implemented the dependent detail for querying the Employees select items
Then you make sure the DepartmentsVO and the EmployeesVO have bind variable to query them according to the pre-selected value in their respective master list

Automatically update text field depending on the in select list value

I have got 2 tables. Table A (Employee Personal Detail), Table B (Employee Academic detail). Employee no is common field between two tables).
I have created interactive report with form on table b using in-built templates. I have added text box on form to display employee name which is stored in table A. I want to automatically display employee name depending upon value in employee no field on form. I know I can write query to get value in employee name field. It gives me error when employee no is blank. How to handle error?

For the employee name value to change according to the emp_no, your page needs to get submitted. can you use a select list with submit for emp_no? And then use the PL/SQL mentioned above to run on page submit?
I'm not sure but I guess you can also achieve this in Ajax. May be someone expert in that could help.

Creating dependent select list menus with javascript

You'd probably have to put a copy of the app on apex.oracle.com for a complete diagnosis, but you could maybe just check that the Source Used attribute for teh select list is set to 'Only when current value in session state is null' and not the 'Always' option.

How to create dependent Select Lists?

Found in the documentation that to create dependent select list we have to do these 3 things:
1. In the parent select list, choose the option "select list with submit".
2. Defining a branch that branches back to the current page.
3. In the child select list sql, use the value of the parent (eg. :P6_PARENT_SELECT_VALUE).
When I change the value of parent select list the page is getting submitted and its going to the parent page. I've a branch that goes to the parent page but how to create a branch that comes back to the same page and then use it in parent select list?

2. Create a new branch while will run when you make a selection in parent select list.

How to create a list based on a value in multiple sheets

I am trying to create a list in numbers that references a common value among multiple sheets. I have 4 sheets created for a fantasy football league (1 sheet for QB, 1 for Running Back, 1 for Wide Receiver and 1 for Tight End). I have assigned a value to each player listed on each individual sheet. I would like to create a 5th sheet that lists the players in order from highest to lowest value as they are marked on their position sheet. How would this be done in Numbers?

Here is one possible solution:
I named the four data tables "QB", "RB", "TE", and "WR", and the 5th table, for lack of a better name "Summary".
NOTE: The first row OF EVERY TABLE is a header.
In the summary table:
A2=OFFSET(INDIRECT(A$1&" :: $A$1"), MATCH(LARGE(INDIRECT(A$1&" :: B"), ROW()-1), INDIRECT(A$1&" :: B"))-1, 0, 1, 1)
select A2 and fill to the right, then select A2 thru D2 and fill down as needed

I guess you have a user-parameter in your report and you need to define the LoV for the user parameter, so that the user can select from the LoV. In such a case you get REP-0782 if the datatype of column does not match the LoV of the parameter. Eg, if you have a query like
select * from employees where hire_date < :p_hire_date
And you want to build an LoV for hire_date, do the following:
1. Go to your user parameter > Property Inspector > Datatype > select "Date". If you select Character or Number, you will get REP-0782.
2. Now double click List of Values, choose "Select Statement" and type something like
select distinct hire_date from employees order by hire_date asc
If you don't want to use a Select Statement to build the LoV, you can write a static list of values, and even in this case Step 2 above should avoid the error REP-0782.

Difference between dependent list of values in table and form

Is implementing dependent lov in editable table i.e. in adf table different from implementing the same in an adf form.
In one of his posts Frank Nimohius mentioned that he can send us the implemented application for dependent list of values in editable table, if he reads this could you please send me the same.
Has anybody ever implemented depedent list in adf table.

While I am trying to create dynamic list of values over a table(table1) having the columns h_id ,head_foot and header.I gave the query for creating the dynamic list of values as
select header d, header r
from g.fw_header_footer
order by 1
where d is the display value and r is return value am getting the error
"1 error has occurred
LOV query is invalid, a display and a return value are needed, the column names need to be different. If your query contains an in-line query, the first FROM clause in the SQL statement must not belong to the in-line query."
Can any one please suggest me where am going wrong.

Required Dependent List of Values in Reports Parameter Form

Dear All,
These days I am facing a problem in Oracle Reports(ver. 2.5). I have develope a report. In the parameter form of this report, I want a list of value (LOV) on the second field which should be dependent on the first field value.
For Example, In The Employee Details report, I have a Parameter form in which there are 2 Parameter fields, 1 is Deptno and the other is Empno. I want to attach a LOV on the Empno field but in this LOV I want to display only those empno's which should be dependent on the Deptno field.

Creating a property with list values derived from other hierarchy

Hello Friends,
Thanks in advance for any help in this regard.
1)     Can we have a property with list values populated automatically from other hierarchy.
2)     Can we select multiple items from the list box. Does property allows multiple values.
The example is like this. There are 2 hierarchies.
Customer
     Customer 1
     Child Customer
Industry
     Hightech
     Computers
     TVs
Manufacturing
     Auto
     Steel
     Healthcare
     Pharma
     HealthInsurance
The requirement is to add Industry hierarchy as property of Customer Hierarchy and select each customer is what type of Industry they belong as a property value.

Use property data type ListGroup for multiselect.
To select values from another hierarchy you can use Node or MultiNode, or an Asscociated Node property, of which there are several types. I'm not fond of the property editors for Node data types and will often just use a string and validate the user input by defaultin prefixes and such with a derived property that is checked by a query based validation. Make sense?
