Something wrong, don't know what
I'm trying to write a program that will put two(for now) circles in relation to each other in a certain way. (I'm using drawArc for a good reason, but won't get into that now). In the following code, r[ref] should result in 200, but it's resulting in 400. I did all the calculations by hand and can't see where the error is, so I'm assuming I got some syntax wrong somewhere or something. If this ends up just being a math check, I apoligize.:
import java.applet.Applet;
import java.awt.*;
import java.lang.*;
public class Bubbles2 extends Applet{
int t = 2;
double[] x = {200, 400};
double[] y = {500, 500};
double[] r = {200, 0};
public void paint(Graphics g) {
for(int p=0; p<=t-1; p++){
for (int ref=0; ref<=t-1; ref++) {
if (r[ref]==0 && r[p]>0) {
double diff = Math.sqrt(Math.pow((y[p]-y[ref]),2)+Math.pow((x[p]-x[ref]),2));
double angle2 = Math.asin((r[p]*.5)/diff);
double angle1 = 2*Math.PI/3-angle2;
if (r[p]>=diff) {
r[ref] = (int)((diff*Math.sin(angle1))/.5);
g.drawArc((int)(x[p]-r[p]), (int)(y[p]-r[p]), 2*(int)r[p], 2*(int)r[p], 0, 360);
g.drawArc((int)(x[ref]-r[ref]), (int)(y[ref]-r[ref]), 2*(int)r[ref], 2*(int)r[ref],0 ,360);
Matt
I dumped this into VisualAge for Java (just the calculations) and when it hit the line "r[ref] = ..." it had ref = 1 and r[1] = 400. Not 200, although it's still true that r[0] = 200. That was the first time that line was executed, I don't know what happens later.

I just bought and iMac and have lion installed. I'm trying to use interactive graphs at yahoo finance. Nothing shows on the screen. I assume I have to download something but don't know what or where.
WhyWontThisWork:
I can definitely how frustrating it must be to not be able to take pictures or even view pictures that have already been taken with your LG Dare.
Since this problem has started, have you tried to either:
a.) put that memory card in an alternate phone to see if the pictures can be viewed on there
b.) use a card reader/adapter in a computer to see if the pictures can be viewed on the computer
c.) take the memory card out of the phone and then try to take a picture?
What I am trying to determine is which of the 2 is defective (phone or memory card)
If you are able to view pictures in another phone, or on the computer , then you may have a bad card. If that is the case, you can transfer the pictures to the computer and then format the memory card by
Note: This procedure will erase all data on the memory card. It is recommended to back up the data.
From the home screen, touch the menu tab.
Touch Settings.
Touch SD card & phone storage.
Touch Unmount SD card.
Touch Format SD card.
Once you have done the formatting, try to take pictures again. If you continue to have problems it more than likely is the phone.
Also, in order to access PixPlace, log into your MyVerizon account, at the top, you should see "Messaging" go down to "Manage your photo albums" once there, you should see "My Media", however, if you have already received a message advising you that your album would be deleted if you haven't logged on in more than 180 days, all pictures have then most definitely been deleted. Again, we do send warning messages once the online album hasn't been accessed in 150, 175, 180 days respectively prior to deletion. -
Lost something but don't know what!
I used to have a facility when opening up a new tab whereby the page would load snapshots of all the previous pages visited, links etc. But it's disappeared now and I'm keen to figure out how to get it to show again.
I've got various tab related add-ons - (Colorful Tabs/Tab Mix Plus/IE Tab plus & Too many tabs) so unsure if it comes from one of those over Firefox itself?
Thanks for any help you can provide on it - no rush :)Thanks guys - no the add-ons I mentioned are the only ones relevant to new tabs at least unless one of the others like Session Manager or the like - I just can't find any settings on any of them that would provide a page of previous visits. It's a facility very similar to what IE has so possibly IETab is where I need to look again - I might just uninstall & reinstall a couple of them which might sort me out.
But you've answered the important question which is what I needed - so long as I know it's down to an add-on I can hunt all the harder.
Muchos gracias :) -
I deleted something and don't know what
I was having trouble with my computer and uninstalled a few things. One of them had a little grey gear beside it, now when I fire up the computer I get a message[new hardware detected]. Everything seems to work fine except I-tunes.I can't play my music. What did I uninstall and how can I get it back? Sony Vaio and Windows XP home.
Yes I have but no difference. I think I need a driver called sthda.sys but can't seem to locate a copy. Any body have any suggestions?

I turned of iMessage and now I want it back on and it's not working, I have changed my password and now I don't know what to do. Is there something obvious I am doing wrong? I have done this on both of my iPads and it hasn't let me go back on to iMessage on either of them.

I have downloaded and installed Adobe Flash Player, but it was installed to a "disk image". I don't know what that is, but I cannot view anything that requires flash player. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for your help, but that didn't do any good either. I have been double clicking from the download files, double clicking on the "install adobe flash player", closing the anti virus, closing Safari, watching the install progress and clicking finish. It indicates that "flash player" is installed, but every time I try to view something requiring flash player, it tells me I must download it. It shows up in the "system preference" and from there I can make some changes, but it still won't let me view anything requiring "flash player". It does not show up in my apps like Adobe Reader does. It shows up in the "downloaded files" section of "Finder". I'm getting really perplexed over my inability to get this right.

Something keeps trying to download on my mac and I don't know what it is. It is not in the apple store and just comes out nowhere and request for my password to download something and I don't know what it is. How to make this stop? It pops up every single day.
Erica,
I can, with 99.99% certainty, tell you that you are absolutely right in not wanting to download or install this "Helper," whatever it is (but we can be equally certain it would not "help" anything).
I cannot comment as to Oglethorpe's recommendation of 'adwaremedic'; I am unfamiliar with it. His links to the Apple discussion and support pages warrant your time and attention.
It might be really simple -- Trying looking in your Downloads folder, trash anything that you don't know with certainty is something you want to keep, and then Secure Empty your Trash. Then remove the AdBlock extension, LastPass, and Web of Trust extensions to Safari and re-boot. If the issue goes away, still be extraordinarily careful in the future.
Unfortunately, it's probably not going to be that simple to get rid of, in which case I'd then try the line by line editing in HT203987.
I have no further suggestions (other than a complete wipe and re-install...but that's a pain because trying to restore from Time Machine would simply ... restore the Mal).
For the rest of us, please post when you find a solution.
Best.
BPW

Something graphical is glitching up, but I don't know what it is
I was doing what I was usually doing, so I found out that systemd-analyze would analyze my systemd boot times. I did systemd-analyze, except it crashed Xorg or something, I don't know. It looked like the screen had glitched up, as in, there was static and stuff everywhere, I'll post a picture next time it happens. I thought it was a one time thing, but after I forced Arch to reboot (holding down the power button), systemd-analyze worked fine. Cue the next day. Xorg or whatever crashed again, because I switched to a workspace in awesome. Then today, I ran gimp as root because it wouldn't save an image (turns out there was a fix that didn't even require root) and tried to exit GIMP, but that ended badly and then the glitching happened except this time, the glitching and stuff moved around. I can't open a tty when this happens, and on the second time this happened I could see my cursor perfectly well which I thought was odd.

Last night as I was setting up the pin I got distracted and entered the wrong one, now I can't access my phone as I don't know what I entered. Is there anyway around this or do I have to wipe my phone and sign in with my Apple ID and restore from icloud??
I can't ask for help on chat as I'm away from home and don't have the box with me, and obviously can't get the serial number in my phone as I've locked myself out!!
Any help will be much appreciated!!https://support.apple.com/kb/ht1212

Hi my itunes library is constantly disappearing, I really don't know what is wrong. It keep happening everytime I turn my laptop off, I thought I had solved the problem the other week however it has started back up again. I have a Sony Vaio laptop and have read on the discussions that this can occur but all the solutions I have read haven't seemed to solve it. Anybody else got an idea? I would be really grateful for the help!
See this post. Seems that AVG is the most likely cause. They are promising a patch tomorrow.

I don't know what's wrong with my 3GS. It only shows the black screen with white apple. Home button and turning the phone off then on doesn't seem to do anything.
Thanks Lucas,
I've tried doing that with no results. Same screen keeps showing. Maybe it'd be more helpful if I told you a bit more info. My phone was randomly playing music, and the voice control would also suddenly start without me touching the phone. Then I let the battery die and started to recharge when on the screen it indicated to plug into my computer/iTunes, I tried to restore but was getting an error message (can't remember what it said now). Battery died and now my current issue of the black screen with white apple. I'd love to be able to restore my phone but now its not showing as a device on my iTunes. HELP! Any other suggestions? -

Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
