Søren Granfeldt PowerShell MA Export

Hello everyone!
I have the following strange behavior with Søren Granfeldt PowerShell MA on Export:
I am using CSEntryChange objects on Export, so i want to determine only changed values in multivalue attributes.
Here is the example of export:
To display changed values in debug file i am using following powershell code:
    $atrChng = $_.ChangedAttributeNames
    foreach ($can in $atrChng)
        "Name: $can" | Out-File $DebugFile -Append
        foreach ($ValueChange in $_.AttributeChanges[$can].ValueChanges)
             $val = $ValueChange.Value
             $valmodt = $ValueChange.ModificationType
             "Value: $val $valmodt " | Out-File $DebugFile -Append
In my debug file i have the following result:
Name: members
Value: u6000041 Add
Value: u6000042 Add
Value: u6000048 Add
This means that all attributes, even those that not have been changed are display as added attributes.
I have an idea that this behavior is because of Object Replacement type export of this MA. If i am right, does this mean, that there are no ways for me to get only changed values instead of sort out all of them? In my case i should exactly know
changed values to execute the target system API functions AddUserToGroup() or DeleteUserFromGroup() for each.
The other option is that i am doing something wrong :)
Thanks in advance for any help!

It is configured to do object replacement currently. However, if you - as it looks like you done - deselect the "Export Simple Objects" on the MA, you should be able to get the the AttributeChanges property on the exported CSEntryChange object
- and go from there using the MSDN documentation for this type of object (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/microsoft.metadirectoryservices.csentrychange(v=vs.100).aspx).
Remeber that the AttributeChanges consists of a list objects of type AttributeChange, which again have some properties (i.e. ValueChanges) that you may want to examine (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/microsoft.metadirectoryservices.attributechange_properties(v=vs.100).aspx)
You have to dig deeeeep...deeper that what you're doing with your current script. I have yet to go there...

  • Granfeldt PowerShell MA Import-PSSession?

    Firstly
    Søren Granfeldt thank you for writing and releasing this MA! I'm using it for Account Expiration dates already!! My issue is when trying to connect to Exchange Online (O365) to manage mailboxes.
    I'm using the Granfeldt PowerShell MA to access data in Office 365 but not just the dirsync (is the user licensed) but also properties on the Exchange Online.
    I can connect to Exchange Online (O365)  when running the script as the service account (FIMService). It connects using stored credentials to Exchange Online using Remote PowerShell and Importing the session with -AllowClobber. However I get an error
    on the Import-PSSession line saying that $Session is undefined / Null when the MA Runs it.
    I have a couple of questions.
    1) If I edit the import.ps1 script (Import Script) do I need to refresh the PowerShell MA Schema for it to pick up the changes or does it load and run this on the fly?
    2) Has any one ran an Import-PSSession with the Granfeldt  PowerShell and gotten a script Error: Script error in line 24: [Cannot validate argument on parameter 'Session'. The argument is null. Supply a non-null argument and try the command again.]
    - (At {REMOVED}
    +     Import-PSSession -Session $mySession -AllowClobber -WarningAction SilentlyCo ...
    The error is under the $mySession variable, it should connect just fine, I've gone so far as hard coding the password into the script.
    3) Is there any way to make the import script "Run as Admin / Elevated" ?
    Thanks in advance!!!!
    Jonathan Manley

    I was able to make a test against Exchange Online. The below Import.ps1 works fine in Sorens PS MA.
    param (
        $Username,
        $Password
    #Create Session
    $pw = ConvertTo-SecureString -AsPlainText -Force -String $Password
    $O365Credentials = New-Object -TypeName System.Management.Automation.PSCredential -argumentlist $Username,$pw
    $session = New-PSSession -ConfigurationName "Microsoft.Exchange" -ConnectionUri "https://ps.outlook.com/powershell" -Credential $O365Credentials -Authentication Basic -AllowRedirection
    $result = Import-PSSession $session -AllowClobber -CommandName Get-MailUSer
    $MailUsers = Get-MailUser
    ForEach($MailUser in $MailUsers)
        $obj = @{}
        $obj.Add("Alias",$MailUser.Alias)
        $obj.Add("objectClass", "MailUser")
        $obj
    Kent;
    Thank you for the script. I created a new import script with just the code here in the post by itself. I still get the following error in the Logs (Turned the logs on using the Registery key per Soren's blog post.)
    I'm just including one line above the error and one line below the error. Let me know if more would help.
    It's like for some reason the remote PowerShell session doesn't get connected.

  • Powershell Array Export Issues

    Hey everyone! So I might just be going about this the wrong way but here's my issue. The script functions as I need it to however, when I export the values to my .csv, the columns are in the wrong order than the way I think they should be. Here's what I've
    got:
    $list = Get-content targets.txt
    Foreach($_ in $list) {
    $SAM = Get-RegValue -ComputerName $_ -Key Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication\LogonUI -Value LastLoggedOnSAMUser
    $User = Get-RegValue -ComputerName $_ -Key Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication\LogonUI -Value LastLoggedOnUser
    @('Name','LastUserAccessed','LastUserLoggedOn')
    New-Object PSObject -Property @{
    Name = ($SAM).ComputerName
    LastUserAccessed = ($User).Data
    LastUserLoggedOn = ($SAM).Data
    } | Export-csv Results.csv -notypeinformation -append}
    I would like it to read Name, LastUserAccessed, and LastUserLoggedOn but it comes out to be LastUserAccessed, Name, LastUserLoggedOn. Any ideas as to why this is happening? Thanks in advance!

    Okay, then instead of using 'New-Object PsObject -Property', use [pscustomobject].

    I'm looking for a way to export packages from a ConfigMgr 2012 ( NOT SP1 ) instance using wmi and powershell. I am aware of the wmi classes under the namespace 'root\sms\XYZ_Site' but I can't find any classes with an 'export' method.

  • Exchange 2010 Powershell PST Export

    Is there a command that will export in bulk from csv with a column of SamAccountName just the following items to PST?
    All Calendar Items
    All Contacts
    All Tasks

    Not sure about a csv, but if you paste the contents of that column into a txt file you can make a PS script starting with a get-content, followed by a For Each loop that will run the new-mailboxexportrequest with the appropriate variables.

  • How to import multi-value reference with Granfeldt PowerShell MA?

    Hi,
    I am trying to import multi-value reference into FIM (Group object).
    I can import all attributes from source SQL, except Multivalue reference (into members attribute on Group object).
    I have defined schema like this:
    $obj = New-Object -Type PSCustomObject
    $obj | Add-Member -Type NoteProperty -Name "Anchor-axs_profid|String" -Value ""
    $obj | Add-Member -Type NoteProperty -Name "objectClass|String" -Value "role"
    $obj | Add-Member -Type NoteProperty -Name "name|String" -Value ""
    $obj | Add-Member -Type NoteProperty -Name "member|Reference[]" -Value ""
    $obj
    On source attribute I have members defined in one attribute, divided by ",".
    Import script:
    $Obj = @{}
    $Obj.Add("objectClass", "role")
    $Obj.Add("[DN]", "Role_"+$Object.$("axs_profid"))
    $Obj.Add("axs_profid", $Object.$("axs_profid").ToString())
    $Obj.Add("name", $Object.$("name").ToString())
    if($Object.$("member").ToString() -ne "")
    [string[]]$members = $Object.$("member").ToString().Split(',')
    $Obj.Add("member", $members)
    $Obj
    When Full import is triggered, I get following error for roles with multiple users:
    FIM Sync = staging-error
    Event log =
    The server encountered an unexpected error in the synchronization engine:

    If I change the script to return only first member:
    $Obj.Add("member", $members[0])
    import is successfull and I can see referenced member in Group.
    I have also tried to specify DN for both users and roles with the same outcome.
    $Obj.Add("[DN]", "Role_"+$Object.$("axs_profid"))
    I am using the latest version of  PSMA: 5.5
    Thanks for your help guys!

    I managed to solve this issue.
    The problem was in string array (I always appended "," at the end of each value). MA then expected another value after the last comma.
    The wrong approach:
    [string[]]$members = $Object.$("member").ToString().Split(',')
    The right approach:
    [string[]]$members = $Object.$("member").ToString().TrimEnd(',').Split(',')

  • Granfeldt's PSMA - Error on export (ma-extension-error, 0x80230703)

    I'm running in to a error using Granfeldt's PSMA. I'm trying to export objects to Exchange, everything goes just fine, the new mailboxes are indeed provisioned, but PSMA hits error everytime I run the export;
    Error: ma-extension-error, Connected data source error: unexpected-error, Connected data source error code: 0x80230703.
    I enabled PSMA's logging feature and it shows that my export.ps1 script indeed starts (It logs it's stuff to other file where I can see that everything goes just like planed) and after that it throws "System.NullReferenceException: Object reference
    not set to an instance of an object."
    In the event viewer I see another error after the export:
    "Microsoft.MetadirectoryServices.EntryExportExeception: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at Granfeldt.PowerShell.ManagementAgent.Microsoft.MetadirectoryServices.IMAExtensible2CallExport.PutExportEntrie(IList`1 csentries) Forefront
    Identity Manager 4.1.3508.0"
    I'm a bit confused because my export script works just fine.. is there something I should look after my Sync Rule from the portal or something else? Error messages don't help much... Thanks in advance!

    Could you post your export script and output from the log for the PSMA? Also, please post which version of the MA you're using

  • Powershell export User properties and policy settings

    is there a Powershell script "out-there" that export and import all the user properties from the User Profile service Application - including their individual placement on the various sections (contact, basic, details etc), and also including their
    policy settings (only me /everyone/replicate settings) - basic all the settings - and if the AD mapping is there as weel it would be nice...

    Parsing Out Data From Flat File With Inconsistent Delimiters in SQL Server
    Durval Ramos: "Very useful. Good job !"
    Ed Price: "Fantastic job on the code formatting, in-depth descriptions, and robust use of images!"
    AM: "Thanks for presenting multiple approaches to solve the problem. It would be good to see a second part describing the format file."
    DRC: "This is a good article which provides different ways to import the data to SQL, But this article needs some modifications. Suggestions: • It would be helpful, if mentioned on which version of SQL server and Visual studio scenario
    was tested • We might encounter errors while using the format files, for example we get the below error if the format file doesn’t have blank space (character ) at the end of each line Msg 4862, Level 16, State 1, Line 10 Cannot bulk load because the file
    "C:\temp\good.fmt" could not be read. Operating system error code (null). • So it will be helpful if you can provide a sample format file and TSQL script along with the possible output which can be tested and compared. • The sample query and the
    format file is not yielding the right output. Screenshots shown in the article has invalid values (for example ID coulmn has invalid values). Format file need to be fixed to get the right data. • The format file under section “Files With Text Qualifiers” is
    also invalid and the data is not imported properly. • Implementation of import using the SSIS package needs more details about how to make the delimiter consistent, Attaching a sample package would be helpful. "

  • Powershell to rename file based on output

    Good Afternoon
    I was wondering if someone could assist with the below
    1. We currently have a system in place whereby a document is scanned onto the system as an image and this is saved in a central location folder
    2. I then run tesseract within powershell on this location folder, which is a program that can extract the image to txt file and this converts the image to a txt file and saves in the same location with the same name
    3. What i would like to do is for powershell to then search the extracted txt file and look for a particular regexpression (which i have) and to then rename the original file from point 1 to the output
    Is the above possible at all
    This is what i have so far, what this seems to do is look in my ocr folder and run tesseract and the output txt files end up in the same folder
    $TargetFolder1 = “c:\ocr\test\file.txt”
    $regex = '[0-9]{5,6}[\.][0-9]{0,1}'
    $result = out-file ("c:\OCR\Match\""imtest" + ".txt")
    select-string -Path $Targetfolder1 -list -Pattern $regex | % { $_.Matches } | % { $_.Value } > $_result
    cd "C:\Program Files (x86)\Tesseract-OCR"
    Apologies of it seems confusing
    Barrie

    Hi
    Many thanks for the info so far, much appreciated
    I have read around on the Microsoft Powershell learning site but becoming slightly confused with some more piping
    I previously mentioned that the tesseract program converts the ocr scanned tif file into a text file - Is it possible instead to have this output to a variable of some sort and then for my reg expression carry out the search in the variable and
    then rename the tif file based on the result of the regexpression
    Previously i have ran tesseract on a tif file via powershell which in turn produces a text file of the document in the file location
    I think it would be best if i ran tesseract on the tif file, then for powershell to export the results somewhere and the reg expression query can be run and the final result will rename the original tif file with the output of the reg expression
    Hope this makes sense and many thanks for help so far
    Regards
    Barrie

  • Powershell - Need help combining multiple commands (?) into one script

    Scenario:
    When a user is terminated from our company, I run these scripts separately:
    1. I use the script below in Windows Powershell ISE to launch an entry box so I can enter in the username@domain and get a list of distribution groups the termed employee currently manage export to a CSV file on my desktop:
    Add-PSSnapin quest.activeroles.admanagement
    $USerID = Read-host "Enter in Username@domain. Example: [email protected]"
    connect-QADService -service blah.dc1.cba.corp -UseGlobalCatalog
    get-qadgroup -ManagedBy $UserID -Verbose | select Name,Type,DN | export-csv -
    NoTypeInformation "$home\desktop\$UserID.csv" -Verbose -Force
    2. I launch Powershell as an Administrator and run the following to activate Exchange Management in Powershell and to give me access to the entire forest of accounts:
    Add-PSSnapin -name "Microsoft.Exchange.Management.PowerShell.E2010"
    Set-AdServerSettings -ViewEntireForest $true
    3. Next, I run this script to remove the former owner's write permissions from the list of distribution lists they managed in the above CSV file:
    import-csv -Path "<PATH>" | Foreach-Object {Remove-ADPermission -Identity $_.Name -
    User '<domain\username>' -AccessRights WriteProperty -Properties “Member” -
    Confirm:$false}
    4. I run this script to show the new owner of the DLs, allow DL management via Webmail and add info in the Notes section on the DLs:
    import-csv -Path "<PATH>" | Foreach-Object {set-Group -Identity $_.Name -ManagedBy
    "<domain\username>" –Notes “<Enter Here>”}
    5. I run this script to allow management via Outlook and to automatically check the box in Active Directory "Manager can update membership list" under the Managed By tab within the Group's Properties:
    import-csv -Path "<PATH>" | Foreach-Object {Add-ADPermission -Identity $_.Name -User
    ‘<domain\username’ -AccessRights WriteProperty -Properties “Member”}
    Is there a way I can combine this into one Powershell script or two, at the most instead of having to copy and paste 6 different times and use two programs (Powershell and Powershell ISE)?

    Rhys, again, thanks to your script, I was able to add even more to it to run nicely in PowerShell ISE (running as an Administrator):
    The following happens in the script below in this order:
    1. The script allows searching across multiple e-mail domains that we manage in Exchange
    2. It prompts for entry of the old owner's ID, the new owner's ID and notes that I want to add to the DLs.
    3. It exports a copy of lists owned by the old owner to a CSV file on my desktop.
    4. Powershell pauses and allows me to modify the old owner's.CSV file so I can remove any lists that should not be transferred, save the changes to the CSV file and click continue in Powershell ISE. If all lists should be transferred to the new owner, I
    would simply not edit the CSV export and click OK in Powershell ISE.
    5. Powershell ISE updates the DLs from the CSV export using the information I entered in the entry boxes.
    6. Powershell sleeps for about 1 minute after updating the DLs to allow Active Directory to register the changes. Then, Powershell ISE exports a copy of the lists transferred to the new owner to a <newownerID>.csv file on my desktop. This allows me
    to compare the CSV files (which should have the same exact lists on them) and make sure all of the lists were successfully transferred.
    7. If the lists are not the same because Active Directory didn't update in time while the file csv export was running for the new owner, I can run the script again with the exception of using the newownerID for the entry boxes in Step 2 (Notes don't matter
    as we won't execute any additional steps after capturing the updated export). You would simply select Cancel during the pause window that comes after the export completes to prevent the script from continuing a second time and overwriting your previous entries.
    8. You can now compare the updated newowner.csv to the oldowner.csv file on your desktop.

    JS: "Use object qualifiers (schema name to make sure that the right objects will be picked, e.g. dbo.) Outline ab bot more the things what not to do in production! Be aware that although people read this, they tend to use it anyway. If
    triggers are enabled, they are executed once for each batch They are executed each statement not batch, miswording here."

    GO: "This article deserves absolutely a medal THANKS!"
    Jinchun Chen: ""
    Richard Mueller: "Good topic. Grammar needs work. "Caution" states undocumented stored procedure is safe for production, but later states it is not."
    Ed Price: "Great article. We should include the technology in the title. Good descriptions, and great References!"
    JS: "Although the outlined solution is interesting and shows the public the usage of the "new" system views finding the right dependencies, it is not recommended to describe the usage of undocumented features such as sp_msforeachdb
    as there are alternatives, especially in this scenario. You could generate a query using the sys.databases view and let it print out the database name along with the use statement. In addition to this and as the statement has to be run with a high privileged
    account as schema information is secured as well, it should be made safe to SQL injection. In many case in the statements there is just a concatentation of values used. You can easily inject code in here, Also make sure that names / object identifiers are
    quoted with [] in order to allow also special characters like spaces in the names"

    Export To CSV for Windows Store apps
    JH: "Most people laugh when they hear about CSV export of data. A database would be a better place for the data of an app. In my opinion this is not always true (because CSV is small and can be used in different ways),
