Sorry if this posted upteen times-I keep getting sent to another screen.

My question is: I have an Epson 1640xl scanner that I am trying to get to work in Photoshop CS4 Ext on a Windows 7 pro 64bit computer-any help?
There are lots of comments out on the network but nothing I try seems to work. The wonderful file supposed to be located on the goodies folder in input/output is not there. I've downloaded the news drivers etc. for the Epson and looking in the folder there are many .inf  & I have no clue where to find out the one I need. (I tried all & none worked) The computer does not find the scanner that is plugged in through a USB port. Just spent 4 hours trying everything. There has to be an easy fix or Adobe is remiss. Please help. Not as savvy as you all  but am trying to learn.

Glad to help. I do a moderate amount of scanning and I do have Windows 7x64.
Get the 1640XL driver package here, let the exe or setup install it for you
Epson Expression 1640XL, Drivers & Downloads - Technical Support - Epson America, Inc.
Follow the instructions carefully, don't plug in the scanner until you are told to.
Epson also has a 32/64 bit Twain driver under "Utilities" on the same download page.
First of all the Twain plugin only works on the 32 bit version of Photoshop, not the 64 bit.
Get it here: TWAIN plug-in | Photoshop CS4, CS5, CS6  Follow the install instructions.
Get back to me if there are problems.
