Soundcloud widget code won't preview in Muse.

Trying to share a podcast from Soundcloud, so I copied/pasted the widget code link into Adobe Muse (v4.1). Under Object menu I chose Insert HTML... and pasted the correct code:

The Soundcloud player won't show up in Muse's Design or Preview mode. Instead it displays "Couldn't connect to the server. Please try again later." and a Soundcloud logo. I tried the same code in iWeb just to verify it, and it DOES work there.
Any clues as to why it won't work in Muse?

Gif file won't animate in Muse's preview mode or in Muse's view in browser mode

Created a gif file with Photoshop that's 7.5MB in size. Placed the gif file on a Muse page. But, the gif won't animate in Muse's preview mode or when Muse sends the page to be viewed in browser mode. I'm using a Mac running OS X 10.9.2 and I'm a creative cloud member using Muse. Any solutions?

Step one to enable the community to help debug what you're encountering would be to provide the URL for the page where the GIF is being used. My first guess would be there are effects applied to the image (i.e. inner glow, bevel, etc.) that require Muse to re-encode the image and Muse does not support encoding animated .gif. It only supports passing animated .gif files through unchanged. (And to get an image to pass through unchanged it needs to have no effects that require rasterization applied in Muse.)
Given you've stated the GIF file is 7.5Mb I have to question your choice of .gif. At 7.5Mb this single file will take ~8 seconds to download on the average US broadband connection and will be much slower for many broadband users and most cellular users. GIF is a reasonable choice for very small short animations used sparingly, but is seldom (if ever) a good choice for larger or longer animations. Better choices for those are to use a video or a tool like Edge Animate to create a HTML5/CSS3 animation. The end result will be vastly more user friendly in terms of page load performance.
A huge percentage of first time visitors to a webpage will cancel the page load rather than waiting 8+ seconds for the page load to complete.

Website won't play SoundCloud widgets on Safari.

My website at www.nishmusic.com contains SoundCloud widgets to play the music that I write. (Example: http://www.nishmusic.com/published-works/the-magic-flute-in-5-minute-2.html) For some reason, I can play but not hear the widgets. I've reset Safari (ver. 6.1.4) but that hasn't worked. Other people can hear them, and I can hear them if I use Firefox.

As with any software installations, repair disk permissions.  Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.

HTML Elements won't load in Muse or when published!

When I try to add Google Adsense boxes and Faebook like widgets, it won't load the HTML inside Muse, or even when I publish the site. This is incredibly strange as the Facebook like widget works just fine on my homepage, but won't work anywhere else. Anybody got any suggestions?

Yes, the portion of the embed code that goes in the <head> is missing.

As for positioning, text layout will vary from browser to browser due to variations in the text layout engines. This variation can result in even short paragraphs of text being one line longer or shorter which in turn can change the height of text frames which will shift some items below down. In many cases simply making text frames tall enough to accommodate an additional line of text will address the issue. In other cases text in multiple different text frames may need to be combined into a single text frame and object that are intended to align with the text may need to be cut and pasted into the text flow and positioned with the Wrap settings.
Finally, different browser treat percentage leading (line-height) differently. This results in additional variation in the position of lines of text and the height of text frames. If you specify leading in the Control Strip and/or Text panel in pixels rather than a percentage (by include a "px" suffix on the value) it will eliminate this source of line height variation.

Soundcloud Widget in Flash CS4 with AS2?

I am making a band website for a friend and they want me to put their soundcloud widget onto the website so people can listen to their music on the website, I've looked all over for a tutorial or even a code I could put in but no luck! I have their soundcloud HTML code which is

Doesn't sound like we're seeing the same thing. I can create a swatch at, say, green at 50% alpha. Then create a new square and fill it with a different color at different alpha, say 100% alpha. Then I can apply the swatch, and it's the expected saved color, green at 50% alpha. That's true that the alpha setting will be remembered between fill color selections, but the swatch for me is remembering the correct value.

Animations won't preview in Firefox

Animations won't preview in Firefox but work fine in Chrome and IE.
I have little or no developer experience so please don't ask me about
servers or technical stuff. I like edge and it's usability as I am very familiar
with the Adobe products interface but it's no good to me if my work falls
down because I can't get it to work in Firefox.

OK...I have created a temporary muse file and imported my edge animation,
The name of the temporary site is "rohtemp.businesscatalyst.com"
Please have a look at it in Chrome, Firefox and IE.
The interesting thing is this. The animation works in both chrome and Internet explorer, however,
the correct animation is the one in chrome. You will see there are a few wheels rotating with a green color
moving from one to the other. The wheels have a hidden linetype, but it changes to dots in chrome.
Having seen this, it leads me to think that the animation is also working fine in firefox. What is happening
is that the hidden line has become solid which gives the impression that the wheels aren't rotating.
The color green is moving from wheel to wheel as it should.
So, to conclude, what we have is actually a linetype issue/problem and not an animation problem.
The various browsers are inserting whatever linetype is most compatible for it's own situation.
Any ideas as to how to get around this one ?

I disconected from the network and it previews fine now. Performance is normal.
I updated from whatever the previous version was to: 2014.2
I have also been exporting the html and previewing it that way, which works.
I would prefere to stay connected to the network. (Emails, web, my life, etc.)
Is this an ongoing issue with the latest version of muse?

Lost Spry Menu Widget Code

Please help -
I have somehow lost the code that allows me to use the SPry
menu widget to edit my horizontal spry menu. The drop down menu I
created for my site template using the Spry menu bar works fine and
my page looks great when I preview. But now widget no longer
exists. I still have all my original spry assets and CSS. It looks
like I may have to recreate the page and drop downs all over again
- -is there a way to "reimport" the spry assets and css to save
time in recreating my page? Any idea why my widget code got
deleted?

You could change this part of the css file for the menu in
your spry assets folder.

Can't read or write some files, internet is failing, youtube won't load, security software I tried to install was in Slovenian, not dutch or english like in my systempreferences settings, pictures and files won't preview with spacebar and are randomly corrupted, when I entered something in the Youtube searchbar (when it was still working) it send me to a site with sexadds.
I tried restart my iMac and when I was logged back in, my dock preferences were reset.
Also tried to download some security software to check my Mac for malware, but when I did, I tried several, I got a notification that said something like 'dumpfiles (don't know if this is the right translation...) damaged'.
I'm taking screenshots from all the weird notifications I get and even three quarters off the screenshots I took in the last three hours are already unreadable.
It started this morning when I tried opening a Premiere Pro file on which I worked the night before.
When I tried opening it, it said the file was damaged and could not be openend.
I tried opening it with AE or importing the file in a new project but nothing helped.
When I tried looking for autosaves, this is the really weird part, there were none.
Even though there are autosaves from my other projects, this one was completely gone.
It looked like the day before never happened on my computer.
Also when I openend Premiere all the recent projects had been wiped.
So at first I thought it was a Premiere Pro failure.
But than, later on the day, I tried loading some RAW files from my compact flash card.
This is where I would get an error (error -36) which said some data cannot be read or written.
I tried importing the files with a view different technics, from dragging to importing via Lightroom and I succeeded with Image Browser.
But when I tried moving the files to an other folder the same error occurred.
While dealing with this issue I wanted to put on some soothing music on youtube.
This is when the next weird thing occurred: youtube wasn't completely loading in Chrome. I refreshed a view times, checked the internet connection and still no difference.
When I tried in Safari it did work but when I clicked enter on the searchbar in Youtube, a page with sexadds appeared (I didn't install AdBlock in Safari...).
I read about this 'phishing' where you are redirected to a site were a possible malware installment can take place...
I don't know if it's connected to any of the problems I've been having but I just never experienced this on a mac, I have been a Mac user for 10 years now.
On top of it all, internet started working worse and worse and now it's not even working at all. I had to fill in the password over and over, normally it remembers.
Just like my system preferences, all the preferences I had with Chrome where also reset.
Also somewhere in between I got this notification: Mac OS X must restore library to run programs. Type your password to allow.
To me this is all very weird and suspicious. I have clearly no idea what's going on. Could this be another sort of trojan horse or malware?
Some background info which could be helpful for solving this mystery:
two months ago the one year old Fusion Drive in my iMac just broke out of nowhere.
I got it replaced by a qualified apple repair store.
When I got my computer back, all the files where gone.
I got on the internet without AdBlock installed yet.
A game or whatever it was, can't clearly remember, got installed by accident.
I deleted it immediately.
Only two weeks later, I couldn't log in to my account. It didn't recognize my password and username.
So I brought my mac back to the store.
Here the repair guy said it was a minor thing and he just needed to reconnect my account. He also mentioned he found a downloaded game name Sparta and it probably had something to do with the error.
I asked him; could it be a virus? He replied no way.
I don't know why I couldn't be a virus, just because it's a mac doesn't mean it cannot be done.
So today I tried installing anti virus software (such as avast- was in a weird language looked like slovenian, clamxav - was in slovenian) but I couldn't install them.
PLEASE help me! I don't know what to do anymore, I work fulltime and I need my computer, I have no time to bring it in for repair, are there other perhaps easier ways?

It sounds like you may have multiple problems, but none of them are likely to be caused by malware.
First, the internet-related issues may be related to adware or a network compromise. I tend to lean more towards the latter, based on your description of the problem. See:

If investigation shows that this is not a network-specific issue, then it's probably adware. See my Adware Removal Guide for help finding and removing it. Note that you mention AdBlock as if it should have prevented this, but it's important to understand that ad blockers do not protect you against adware in any way. Neither would any kind of anti-virus software, which often doesn't detect adware.
As for the other issues, it sounds like you've got some serious corruption. I would be inclined to say it sounds like a failing drive, except it sounds like you just got it replaced. How did you get all your files back after the new drive was installed?

You need to look at Dreamweaver as a code editor. You need to learn to create good, clean HTML code with style sheets to make websites with Dreamweaver.
There are tutorials that will take you from a layered .PSD file to HTML. Here's a good one:

Adobe's Muse is a semi-WYSIWYG website layout creator for small websites (1-5 pages). But there is no way you can go from a .PDS file to Muse, you have to start the site in Muse.
I have seen a few Muse sites and they're OK, but there is some code that Muse creates that is kind of odd. If you want a good, clean website that will work for you or your business, Dreamweaver is the best choice. Alternatively, you could hire a pro.

I just imported a new video from my camera, and it won't preview it in the viewer. the thumbnails will "play", but noting in the viewer. I just tried opening an older project, and they work fine.
Is there a way to force imovie to rebuild the previews of selected clips?

How to: Embed YouTube in Ibook/Location of File, Open in Dashboard Widget Code?

I am new to the whole Mac experience and loving it after 25 years locked into the MSGATES paradigm. I have been playing around with Ibook and have made a book. I would like to embed a You Tube file and it seems it is not as simple as slecting an HTML widget and then dropping in the Youtube embed code. Or is it?
Instructions are to create a widget and then drag the widget code into the HTML widget in iBooks. I was able to make it as far as to learn I can make my YouTube video a custom dashboard widget using the "File," "Open in Dashboard" method in Safari.
Once I did this I was able to select the portion of the YouTUBE page and click to make the YouTube widget. Presto, easy as pie. But where is the .wdgt file (and/or other related files to this custom dashboard widget) stored? I was able to find the widget directory in my root but only the preinstalled widgets were there--not the the widget I was able to make with the "File," "Open in Dashboard" method.
Is this the most straightforward way to embed a You Tube file, or is there another way?
It seems this should/can be as easy as just dropping the embed code into the HTML widget in iBooks. perhaps a consideration for the next version of iBooks...

We use a container thats ratio matches the video and insert following format into the folio overlay controls for Web Content: https://www.youtube.com/embed/ jyOFS5lAG68 *PLEASE NOTE: there is a space between the embed/ the video ID. Remove it to see how the video looks when you paste the link.
We found this works on both iOS and Android.

Might be an incompatible extension or plugin ...
Try troubleshooting Safari extensions and third party plugins.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test. If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.
If it's not an extensions issue, try troubleshooting third party plug-ins.
Back to Safari > Preferences. This time select the Security tab. Deselect: Allow all other plug-ins. Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that made a difference, instructions for troubleshooting plugins here.

Code won't compile - array

This is my first in depth attempt to understand the code for enabling arrays. I THINK I have a fairly simple problem, but the code won't compile and NetBeans is telling me I'm missing a symbol &/or class, which I just don't get. After I create a page using templates, it won't preview in
IE7. Why? It previews fine in Mozilla 3.0. This is very
frustrating!! For the first time I am trying to use templates but
realizing how stupid they really are. They meay be convenient but
at the same time extremely annoying cause if you make canges to the
template, it won't save attimes and gives some violation error.
Why? Beats me. Any help would be appreciated.
