SPA3102 firmware compatibility ?

I just bought a SPA3102-EU the firmware version is 3.3.6(GW) and HW: 1.4.5(a)
But I found on you Linksys site a version 5.1.7.
So due to the big difference between my current version and the latest available I am wondering if there is some problem to update my device to this latest one ?
Especially I would like to know if there is any restriction due to the "european" version of this adapter (-eu) related to this 5.1.7 firmware
Thank's
Patrick

Hello haef67
- if your SPA-3102 works OK, there is no real need to upgrade the FW.
- also, the firmware revisions "jumped" from 3.x.x directly to 5.x.x, so the difference is not so big
- I am not sure for SPA-3102 (as it has FXO port), but there used to be only one firmware "type" for the SPA-xxxx device (except those containing WiFi) which does not differ -US and -EU (usualy -NA) devices
- specific firmware revisions were mostly for operator/factory locked devices (-R, -R1, -R2) which cannot be flashed by common FW

  • Raid firmware compatibility with the OS

We would like to update the firmware on a four year old xserve raid that is attached to Xserve running OS X 10.2.6. The OS will be left at its current level and we will just update the raid. The current raid firmware level is 1.0.1/1.16f. Our concern is with the compatibility of OS X 10.2.6 and the new raid firmware 1.5.
We have left versions as they are, because the server hosts millions of critical files and is used in a production environment. The raid is presented to the server as a software stripped raid 50 using all 14 drives. Because a software raid 50 is not portable we have been reluctant to tamper with the server environment.
Does anyone know of any compatibility issues or is raid firmware level independent of the operating system of the server to which it is attached>

The firmware on the RAID is totally independent of anything going on with the computer. You can update it to 1.5/1.5.1 and all should be fine. It doesn't matter what OS version you're running.
Be aware that if you're using LUN masking, that 1.5.1 removes that functionality from the GUI (so I'd recommend 1.5 in that case).
Also note the RAID 50 is portable -- if you moved the FC card and the cables to another machine it should show up properly.
In any case -- have a current backup before you upgrade that firmware -- that's best practice in any case.

  • Questions about firmware & compatibility

    What's goin on guys,
    I have a iBook Blueberry 300 MHz PowerPC G3; 288 MB Memory; 3.1.2f4 bootRom; and i'm running Mac OS X 10.3.9.
My first question is: Do I really even need to upgrade my firmware? I've read through about 25 pages of the forum so far, and I've seen it suggested more than a few times.
My second question: I have tried relentlessly to watch streaming video on this Mac. It simply will not work. I downloaded the latest FlashPlayer, updated my Java settings, checked my internet connection speed, and it simply will not work. I'm beginning to think that 300 MHz just isn't a fast enough processor to handle streaming media. Is this true? Are there any updates (besides hardware upgrades) that I can try?

    Yes, this is correct.
Unfortunately, almost all G3 machines studder with streaming video. Especially the older ones -- even the 466 Mhz iBook studders a good bit with video. The reason for this is that the processor can't keep up and process the information. That's the main reason I found when I was researching the topic!
It's really not because of the graphics card, which many believe is the reason.
Keep on enjoying your clamshell, Miles

  • 7937 Firmware on CUCM 10.5

Hi guys - is there a reason why the latest firmware for 7937 doesn't ship with 10.5?
I am performing a migration from 6.1.3 to 10.5 and am looking at firmware compatibility. All the other firmware on 10.5 is a newer version, but on 6.1.3, the 7937s are running 1-4-5-7, but on 10.5, the firmware for 7937 is 1-4-4-0.
I have had a look through the release notes and can't find anything to do with any incompatibility issues or any reason to downgrade the firmware.

Cisco haven't been putting the latest 7937 firmware in device packs for well over a year. I've nagged multiple people in Cisco about this and they keep on saying "It'll be done next time", but it never is. It's just one of those things we've got to live with.
    *sigh*

  • USRP 2932 firmware

    Hello everyone,
we have just bought a USRP-2932, and on the first run I get this error:
Error -1074118627 occurred at niUSRP Initiate.vi
    Possible reason(s):
A runtime or configuration error occurred.
    Code: 2410
Details: LookupError: Path not found in tree: /mboards/0/dboards/A/rx_frontends/0/sensors/lo_locked
One solution I found for resolving this error is upgrading the firmware, so I downloaded the USRP 1.2 software package and fired up the config utility to upgrade the firmware.
Are the firmware images for 292x series, that are included in the software package, compatible with 2932 because there are no discreet images for 293x series?
I didn't want to experiment with these images as I am not willing to brick or damage the USRP and there are neither forum posts nor support files that point out the firmware compatibility.
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi Inovosel,
The NI-2932 is not supported with the NI-USRP 1.1 driver.  Support for it was added in version 1.2.  So if you ran an example using version 1.1, I would expect to see an error similar to the one that you posted.  The units are shipped with compatible images for version 1.2, so that should not be an issue.  If you are unsure of how to update the images on your device, use the Getting Started Guide for step by step instructions.  If for some reason you do brick the device when updating your images, there is a switch on the motherboard that allows you to boot into a safe mode, so you would not need to ship your unit in for an RMA.  However bricking the unit by updating the firmware and FPGA images is not common if you are using the images that are provided with the driver.
Once you update your driver, if you are still getting this error, please provide details of exactly what you are doing (attach a screen shot or your vi) to help us troubleshoot your issue better.

  • Firmware & Warranty Relations

    Hello everyone,
I got my X-FI Xtrememusic in February of this year, and I really like it.
I'm getting the occasional BSOD in BF2, but I'm not super concerned yet.
    Here is my rig:
    AMD Athlon 64 3200+
    EVGA 7600GT CO
    MS-745 (ATI RS480 Chipset - Socket 754)
    .5GB RAM
    XFI Xtrememusic
    XP Home
Latest XFI drivers, NVIDIA, motherboard drivers.
I'm planning some major system upgrades in the coming year, but I am worried because I have an earlier model of the X-FI. In particular, I don't have the heatsync on my board.
Will Creative allow me to upgrade my firmware after my one year warranty?
Do I have the option of getting it upgraded now on a voluntary basis?
I want to get an Asus motherboard (P5N32 or better), and I don't want to run into firmware compatibility problems.
    Thanks in advance,
    Enterfrize

  • What is your favorite improvement in Firmware v1.2.0

    Hello,
We have recently posted a new firmware version to the download center for the Cisco Smart Storage series.
    Improvements
    Resource Monitor
    Web File Manager
    UPS Support improvements
    NFS version4
    SFTP
    HFS+
    iSCSI v3
    Multimedia Station
    Mount ISO Shares
    Virtual Host
    Time Machine updates
Download the new version and let us know what is your favorite improvement?

    Hi Eric,
Sorry for the frustration. The firmware 1.2.0 comes with new version of iSCSI (v2). The NSS is now can support multiple LUN on the same iSCSI target and the maximun increase to 256 iSCSI target instead of iSCSI version in firmware 1.1.0 where user can only work with the max of 8 iSCSI targets. While the upgrade can produced much more value, including the migration of iSCSI target to the new scheme of iSCSI version 2. It is neccessary for user to re-initiate the iSCSI initiator again in order to establish the stable iSCSI connection.  All your data are still intact. When you re-do the iSCSI initiator, you will have everything back like you used to have and much more new improve/enhancement features that FW 1.2 has to offer.
SInce you are using iSCSI feature,  the backward firmware compatibility is strongly not recommended.  Please call support team to understand the iSCSI scheme changes.
Please let us know so we can provide further assistant to you.
    Best Regards,
    Clint Doan

  • Unable to Generate Printed Documentation in PDF Format

This past week I started having a consistent error when attempting to generate a Printed Documentation layout. This error reads "Internal error encountered,  Failed to generate Printed Documentation."  Prior Printed Documentation builds on this same project completed fine. Nothing was done to the Help project between the times when this worked and when it no longer was able to create Printed Documentation.
I receive this error even if I generate an entirely new "blank project" build, and then attempt to create a Printed Documentation build from this new blank project.  Researching this error, I see this has been a reoccuring problem with this product for some time. The few threads that list the problem as having been "fixed" provide resolution steps that have not worked in my case. Right now I am waiting for our IT Helpdesk people to re-install the Suite. Hopefully this will resolve this problem.
Additional information on this problem - PDF Printed Documentation is failing - the HTML build works fine. If I select just a .DOC Printed Documentation output, this also works correctly. The resulting Word document looks good, although hyperlinks do not work within this Word document. I have reloaded Office 2003 as a troubleshooting effort, but this has nbot resulted in any change in symptoms.
The entire error text is enclosed below, although several other people have also done this in past entries. The few lines that read "Warning, and then report a style issue is NOT the problem here. As stated earlier, when I do this same Printed Documentation build on an entirely new "blank project" it does not work, and the Output text in that case does not contain any such "Warnings" about Styles.

If I select ONLY the Word DOC Output format in the Printed Documentation
setup, the output is created without an error (output text below).  Links do work within
this Word document (a symptom change since installing patch 8.0.2).
When I use this Word document to create a PDF (using the Adobe PDF
printer driver) a PDF is successfully created, however no bookmarks are
created in the bookmarks panel and none of the links in this PDF work
(although they are created looking like they will work, i.e., blue
    underlined text).

I lose internet connection whenever I enable WEP when using my WRT54G in wireless mode. No problem when hard wired. Thanks

    Introduction
The router that started it all, the WRT54G. In 2003, Columbia Law School Professor Eben Moglen sued Linksys to get them to release their Linux source code. They released it without a fight and continue release their source code to the public. It didn't take long to realize what could be done with the source. The OpenWRT group and Sveasoft were among the first to release updates for the WRT54G. The popularity of the WRT54G boomed. Linux and Router gurus soon took notice of the WRT54G. Today, WRT54Gs are used worldwide, many running third-party firmware. Shortly after Linksys released the first version of the WRT54G, they were bought by Cisco. Since then, many versions of the WRT54G have followed. In late 2005, Linksys switched the WRT54G to a non-Linux based operating system. This upset many in the community. Luckily, Linksys released the WRT54GL just for those who like to upgrade their routers.

  • I upgraded 5.1.1 to 6.0.1 and iphone wont restore from back up says corrupted

I just upgraded my iPhone to 6.1.1 after it finished it told me to restore phone from the back up I made right before I upgraded. Well it errors out everytime saying the back up is corrupted. So I've lost most of my pics of my new born son taken since my last cloud back up. And all my music and texts are gone. How do I get it to accept the old backed up file. I've read this happening a lot, but can't find a solution.

Update on the issue at hand.
I tried restoring my iPhone using an older backup that came from my old phone which was an iPhone 3G.. like 3 months back and it worked.. i still havent figured out on why would the phone not accept my recent phone backup. Its possible that the backup was corrupted or something OR due to the size of the backup and firmware compatibility it caused the phone to crash and restart while syncing. I even tried waiting for the phone to finish syncing eventhough the screen of my phone only shows a white circle loading. But due to the size of the app, it never finished syncing coz the phone eventually restarts itself making the whole syncing process start from scratch. I would really hope apple would come up with a solution or at least a statement concerning about this kind of problem.
    Notes:
iPhone 4S backup size reached around 22GB while the backup file that worked only has 380mb. (Dont know if this info matters or not but i think its better for me to add the details.)

  • 10.6.7 update resulted in continuous wifi drop outs

I have a 2009 MBP and 2010 MBA both of which were connecting fine to my router under 10.6.6, after updating to 10.6.7 using software update both now drop wifi connection (it is not the router cos it was working fine and i can still connect via iPhone and iPad).
please can anyone help as currently connected via ethernet.
    thanks

See not all routers remain within spec with each operating system update. Apple introduced 802.11n compatibility long after it was initially accepted into draft, but before it was finalized. If the operating system is not in sync with the router firmware, issues can start to happen with your wireless. Updates refine firmware compatibility to optimize speed and security. In doing so, some routers may have fallen off the compatibility list until their firmware is updated. It is a constant game of cat and mouse.

  • Mac Mini KVM USB problem prevents boot when using certain USB ports

    Hi,
Just purchased a brand new Mac Mini 2.4 Quad Core to use as a server.
This morning we removed from the box & connected it to our NTI Unimux 16-port KVM. The KVM already has 10 Mac Mini's connected (various vintages, no problems).
We connected the Mini to the KVM using HDMI for video and a USB connector.
The Mini initially refused to boot past the initial white/gray screen. It never got to the Apple or the cog.
However, we found that if the USB cable from the KVM is disconnected, the Mac Mini booted immediately.
Further, the Mini will also boot with an Apple keyboard connected.
So... you may assume that the KVM cable is bad or that there is some firmware compatability issue between the KVM and this new Mac Mini.
    EXCEPT...
This Mini has 4 USB ports.
We found that the Mac Mini can boot with the KVM USB cable connected if the USB cable is connected to USB ports 2 or 4 on the Mac Mini.
If the KVM USB is connected to ports 1 or 3 on the Mini, the Mini will not boot.
The Mac Mini will boot with an Apple USB keyboard installed on any port.
Is there any logical reason for this behavior?
    Thanks,
    b

  • IPhone 4S (fw 5.1.1) wont restore from back up

So im having this issue concerning about my phone getting stuck on a black screen with a circle loading in it. It occured after i have restored my phone from factory settings then restoring it from back up. Upon trying to restore it from a recent backup, the phone always end up not finishing the sync and the phone restarts and whenever i try opening the phone w/o connecting it to the computer, it just gets stuck on the same process and eventually restarts. The phone could run normally if i wont restore it from back up but that would be very much of a hassle since i would be syncing everything from the start, i guess that would be my last resort aside from sending this back to apple to have it checked.
    P.S.
I also received an error that states "iTunes was unable to load provider data from Sync Services. Reconnect or try again later."
    Please help...
