Space issue with comn top & ora  top

I have a partition which is 96% full. It has comn top and ora top. I want to know is there some files which i may delete?
i came across a directory $COMMON_TOP/temp which has files like->OFVAAndaOpC.t
I want to know what is the use of these files and can i delete them?
Thanks

Anmol,
.t files are ASCII files (temporary files) generated by reports. You can open up the .t files, the first 5 characters indicate what report in Applications created the .t file.
.tmp and .temp files are binary files (temporary files) generated by forms.
You can safely delete these files.

    1. Tell more about it, e.g.: OS, a sun jdk or a ibm jdk? 32-bit or 64-bit?
for ibm jdk, look for *.hpd file within the dir.
for sun jdk, add startup option -XX:+HeapDumpOnOutOfMemError
Then analyze them with heap analyzer.
2.MaxPermSize=1024m so big space for class files, really necessary?

  • Issue with Advanced Replication - ORA-01403: no data found

    Hi,
got into this weird issue with my replicated environment (9.2.0.5.0 on solaris). We have a bidirectionally replicated table which has been working fine for years but is now showing issues on certain records.
We had to manually update locally some fields but that's something we did in the past, ensuring both sides were aligned, but this time it does not work.
The two records are identical but when we try to update on one side the far end fires:
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-01403: no data found
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_DEFER_SYS_PART1", line 442
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_DEFER_SYS", line 1854
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_DEFER_SYS", line 1900
    ORA-06512: at line 1
Thoutght there could be some field out of sync, but the update we execute is quite easy:
    Records on current DBs:
    9495411494 EA10CARD 10 169 0 used 1.0000E+17 31-DEC-99 E-VOUCHER_10_CARD 28-MAR-13 12 10 949541
    9495411494 EA10CARD 10 169 0 used 1.0000E+17 31-DEC-99 E-VOUCHER_10_CARD 28-MAR-13 12 10 949541
    Trying to:
    update ucms_batches set batch_status='new' where serial_no=9495411494;
    commit;
I see the change locally applied but I see an error reported on the far end. Could not decode the content of the user_data completely, the only thing I could get was:
    3.45.53207 0 0 ?
    OPS$SCNCRAFT? UCMS_BATCHES$RP?
    REP_UPDATE? ?A
    !? used? new?EA10CARD??Y
    7
    Y?'
    !?AE-VOUCHER_10_CARD??AF!????_`*!??!?A
    !????_`*_!?E
    !??? NSMS_MASTERDEF.RMS? N
Is there anyway I could verify the SQL attempted on the far end with the data used to match the record?
    Thanks
    Mike

Found a solution using dump function to get the data decoded and compare them across nodes.
It came out a date field was not matching the hh:mm:ss values.
    Thanks

There is an issue of receiving the pop windows stating that there is an problem with the script also. I get all of these problems when I am on facebook or even when I am logging onto my email account and the web.. At first it was not as bad, but has gotten more and more in the last couple of weeks..I tried the reset in the troubleshoot area to see maybe going back to the first default would help with Firefox,,but no..Please need some help with what to do..I have made sure that all of the plug ins are up to date. And deleted anything was not being used either application wise or plug ins. Thank you for any assistance with this problem.

  • Issue with Materialized View ORA-08103: object no longer exists

I have a materialized view which gets refreshed(COMPLETE Refresh) every 2 minutes. However there are few scheduled programs which queries this materialized view, some of the queries in the scheduled program take longer to run. When the materialized view refresh time overlaps with this query executing from the program i get this error: ORA-08103: object no longer exists.
I know that COMPLETE refresh doing TRUNCATE + INSERT is causing the issue, could someone suggest a workaround for this. But i need to do a COMPLETE refresh.

Why would a TRUNCATE cause an "object no longer exists" ?
Which job encounters this error ? The MV Refresh job or the programs that are querying the MV ? How does it resolve ? Automatically -- meaning that the next refresh/query does not raise the error ?

  • Weird Spaces issue with display...

I've been using Leopard since the day after release, and have had only minor issues on 2 machines. This one is funny... Every now and then on my Macbook Pro CD, the mini desktops in Spaces show up with a smaller desktop attached to the main one. It's as if Spaces thinks I have two displays for each desktop. I have never had this computer connected to an external display...
This behavior occurs most frequently after I import video from my Canon camcorder. If I use the "detect displays" button in system preferences, the mini-view returns to normal.
This "bug" is pretty minor, and I enjoy using Leopard... Of course, I enjoyed Tiger, too.
    Steve

Jameel, Thanks for the answer but this is a not a solution for us. We have around 40-50 webdynpro components and with mutliple views referring to this data element / domain combination. More so the context are bound to database tables / structures .
I hope to get a reply from Thomas on possible solution for this. I am not sure if I can open an support ticket for this issue.

  • Color Space Issue with Wide-Gamut monitor

Since getting my new (and carefully calibrated) LaCie 324 monitor, I have noticed that RAW (and maybe other) images exported from Lightroom as
sRGB jpegs look washed out and slightly green when viewed outside of Lightroom (IE8, Firefox, ACDSee, windows 7 viewer). It seems not to matter whether the external application horors embedded color space profiles or not, since the unmanaged ones assume sRGB.
When I bring one of these jpegs into PhotoShop it still looks bad, and not what I see in Lightroom. However, if I Assign the Adobe RGB profile to the image, it immediately looks like the Lightroom version. And if I then Convert that image to sRGB and save it, it looks fine everywhere, even on an uncalibrated standard Dell TN LCD display.
Any ideas what I might be seeing here. A friend with the same monitor has the same problem, which is what is leading me to suspect the monitor.
The first image here is converted from Lightroom with sRGB color space. The second was first assigned the Adobe RGB color profile and then converted and saved out again as a jpeg.
    Converted Only

I downloaded and ran the program. My version number appears to be 2.1 if I read the numbers right.
I am still at a loss as to why my sRGB jpegs only look right if I assign the wrong profile to them.
Here are the settings in Windows 7 for color management. The highlighted profile is the one just created for my monitor. Display 2 is my main display. Note the "viewing conditions" setting on the advanced tab. Do you think the rendering intent might be at fault here? In Lightroom, should I use Perceptual over Relative or vice versa?

  • How to solve this Data Configuration issue with error message ORA: 01017

Bad public user name or password. ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied
    How to solve this?

    I'm using JCreator jdk1.5.0_7.But i don't know how
to use command prompt. When i execute my program, the
    command prompt showed
    Exception in thread "main"
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: StringManipulation
Press any key to continue...So you managed to compile your code since now you are running it. This error means that the class StringManipulation was not found. Usually an indicator that your classpath is incorrect.
What did you do to generate this error? That is, how did you execute your program?
[edit] if you did not compile your code then there is no class file StringManipulation.class and this error will appear.

  • Disk space issue with log files

I noticed that I was running out of disk space, so I downloaded OmniDiskSweeper and ran it. Turns out that the main culprit is log files. They are located in /private/var/log/asl. However, OmniDiskSweeper won't let me delete them (it doesn't give an error message or anything--it just won't delete the files). What are these .asl files and how can I delete them? I cannot see them when I open up the Finder, so I assume they are hidden. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks!

Those log files are created by the "Apple System Log" process. The first thing I'd do is to use the Console utility to examine what's in them to see if there's anything obvious that should be fixed. In Console, open the "/var/log" item on the left, open the "asl" item, then select the first item in the list. You'll see a lot of gibberish, but you'll also see some text.
To navigate to those files in the Finder, use the menu item Go -> Go to Folder and type "/var/log/asl" (without the quotes) in the field, and click "Go".

  • Odd free space issue with USB stick

I'm wondering what may be the cause of this. I have a 2 GB USB stick that 10.6.3 tells me has 2.02 GB available, yet I get an insufficient space error when attempting to move a 831 KB file to the stick. Could there be hidden files mucking up how the OS reads the stick?

I couldn't guess the cause but why don't you try reformatting the stick?

  • Playability Issues with DVD's in Set-top Players

One of the problems that users often encounter is that a DVD-Video disc will not play in a stand-alone player. Often, these will play in a multi-drive on a computer, through a software player. What is the reason?
Well first, that disc is not really a DVD-Video, per se, but is a DVD-ROM, as it was burned, and not stamped from a glass master in a replication house. All DVD players are certified to play any replicated DVD, regardless of whether it is a DVD-5, or a DVD-9. None are certified to play any burned DVD, regardless of type (+R or -R), or any configuration, DVD-5 or DVD-9. Most will, given certain criteria, but some just will not.
The best that one can do is to use top-quality blank DVD media. This is the biggest cause of issues with playability in set-top players. The issues can be hangs, skips, dropping of Audio or Video or plain failure to play. Verbatim, Falcon Pro, or Taiyo Yuden are about as good as it gets. Brands, such as Memorex, TDK, recent Ritek and any store brands are to be avoided. Most will use the cheapest possible media and just rebrand those to their logo. A spindle of 100 might have blank discs from 4 different mfgrs.
Another consideration is to use a slower burn speed, rather than the fastest possible. One limit with PrE is that it will take an average of the speed of the media and the burner, and choose the fastest possible burn speed. The best that one can do is to buy the slowest media possible, say a 4x, rather than 16x media. A workaround is to Burn to Folder, and then use a burning utility, like the free ImgBurn, and then choose a speed in the middle/lower-middle of the range. ImgBurn will also tell you who the mfgr. was for your blank media, and the lot number.
The Burn to Folder is a good way to test a Project, as you would then do a test with a DVD software player, checking for errors. A second approach is to use a DVD RW disc (for testing ONLY and NOT for delivery), and test in several set-top players. One 10-pack should last for years.
Last, in years past, the type of blank media, +R or -R made a bigger difference. Most newer set-top players are much more lenient regarding type, but older ones still can pose problems, if the other type is used. Most BD players will handle either just fine, when playing a DVD.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

    Hello:
Thank you for the update for remote access for desktops.
Personally, I do not want to give remote access to anyone but myself as privacy is my friend.  Can this remote desktop software still be for me personally unless I allow access and for my MAC lap top only?  What if I do not update? I do use this lap top in other countries.  compatibility issues with what?

Apple Remote Desktop is off be default. It has to be enabled for some one to be able to remotely connect to the computer. And then, you still have to have a user name and password on the computer to remotely connect with.
If you want to see if remote access has is enabled for Apple Remote Desktop; you can find the setting in, Apple Menu, System Prefrences, Sharing. If it's enabled, Remote Management or Screen Sharing will be checked.
Beucase Apple Remote Desktop Agent is part of the Mac Operating System; even if your not using it, Apple Software Updates will from time to time offer updates for ARD Agent. Software Updates can some times be stacked ontop of each other; so chosing not to install an update, can mean other updates you may want may not be offered. At least until you install the updates those updates require. Also software updates can improve the security of your computer.
