Spry Caused Crash
I was using the spry tabbed panels when all of a sudden DW
crashed. I tried to open DW again and it shut down again before
opening all the way. I then reinstalled DW and same thing happened.
I uninstalled DW, restarted my computer, installed DW, restarted my
computer again, opened up DW and as it was opening and redoing the
site cache form the site file... it crashed again. I had DW rebuild
the Configuration folder.. same thing happened. I deleted all
relevant files to the cache and it did it again.
Finally, I deleted the Spry Assets folder, which had 2 files
in it, and DW was able to finish caching the site again. I noticed
it was the Spry folder because when it was caching the site
alphabetically it would stop at that one.
Is anyone else having issues with Spry stuff? Is it really a
stable feature in DW CS3?

Since upgrading to CS4 I seem to have increased crashing.

Is your OS up to date with patches?
Have you tried disabling OpenGL in preferences to avoid using the GPU/Graphics card? -
AutoVue viewer caused crash while viewing .XSLX documents.
We use AutoVue Desktop Deployment Viewer incorporated in our application (using JNI). When viewing XLSX (Microsoft Excel) documents on Windows 8.1 x64 system it caused crash of application. It's reproducible only on Windows 8 (8.1 or Server2012) systems. If we set compatibility mode (Windows 7) then problem isn't reproducible.

I've noticed lately that when saving files from CC 2014 to a CS6 format - and having those files edited on Mac, in either CS6 or CC - when re-opening those files text fields have been causing crashes on the Windows client. When that same file is opened and text fields are edited on the Mac client, a prompt will just appear stating "Cannot Edit text" - yet it still allows it.
This has caused multiple issues for our teams as it has created files we're starting to refer to as "mine fields" - as working with the .ai file is like playing Russian roulette with text fields, you never know which one is going to crash the file.
I would love to work with a team member from Adobe to help find a resolution to the problem, and I'm willing to provide any additional details that might aid in that process.

Please upload the crashdumps on some file sharing website say Dropbox and share the link with us by sending a mail to "[email protected]". We will analyze the dump and will suggest you the workaround appropriately.
In parallel, please check that you do not have any 3rd Party plugins installed in it. Please try to remove them one-by-one and see which one causes the crashes or do reverse i.e. remove all the 3rd party plugins. Or Uninstall Ai and check at following location:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator CC 2014
Please verify that nothing is left at above location on uninstalling Ai. Then try a fresh install and see if Ai works.
Also, verify that you have the updated Wacom drivers on your system. This might be an issue with the 3rd party program as well. One of the user who was having a similar issue reported on the Ai forum that one of the 3rd party Stahl's ImageWorx DTG RIP - a program for printing to a Direct To Garment printer was causing the issue. So, you may check if the similar thing is not happening in your case.

Barn doors transition causes crash
Dear Community,
Applied barn doors transition to a project in CS4. Stored that project in 2010.
Opened the project in CS6 CC - and barn doors caused crashes - so I cleaned off the old and applied replacement barn door transitions in CS6 CC.
Once the wipe is applied - its fairly stable - sometime crashes sometimes doesn't.
If I apply a broder colour to the wipe - all ok.
If I then apply a border thickness - crash every time.
System;
Premiere Pro CS6 - 6.0.3 (001 (MC: 264587)) through cloud membership
Updated and current
Win 7 Pro - SP1 - 64 Bit
Source footage SONY EX3 - .mp4 and still image .png's
No error messages - just crash and need to restart PP CS6
Try to apply colour and border to a barn door transition causes the error
This worked before on the smae project when created in CS4
Not running other software at the time
NewBlueFX modules installed but not applied to this area of sequence

Since the original report earlier today - I now just have to put the timeline scrubber over the barn doors transition and PP CS6 closes without an error message and without saving. The unfortunate part here is there doesn't seem to be any record or log of the crashes to be able to disseminate whats going wrong.
Barn doors worked in CS4 - and the only change in this project is the re-opening in CS6 CC."

Hi,
Two recent updates for my iPhone have caused crashes (down the white lead) via iTunes.
I have "fixed" but I don't know the cause?
Each time the update does n't complete.
The download does n't happen.
The computer & internet connection are good.
It is as if the Apple server does n't complete?
The phone stays in recovery mode, until you reset and rebuild in iTunes.
All software is up to date, but I can't find the cause
ANY IDEAS?

Why Does 3D Reposse cause crashes and work so slow? I get the pinwheel of death when I use this feature. It works at a snails pace. I liked the 3D Type effects in iIllustrator. Why couldn't Adobe have added all the Reposse features to Illustrator instead of craming all these new features into Photoshop?
They're worthless if the program needs an hour to process every selection.What are your OS specs, your Video Card and your Preferences > Performance settings?

My guess would be because it has to create a whole bunch of polygons and your computer-set-up may be insufficient for the task. -

Hi,
Recently, one of my user encounter PDF and Chrome crashes whenever she attempts to save or to open a pdf document. Initially I thought it was due to Adobe pdf, so I uninstall and reinstall but then it crashes again.

If it only occurred online ,please try to use another browser to have a check .If that is the issue ,you may need to look for help from the Chrome browser forum for help.
If it occurred with the local files .How many PDF browser do we have ?
We can check the present pdf file association and try to recreate the file association to have a check.

I've been using my Mac Pro for a few years now without any problems. Recently I moved it to a building that doesn't have an internet connection, so I use my wife's extra Sprint USB mobile broadband card. From time to time, I would unplug/plug it from the USB on the back of an old 17" mac monitor, to move it to a nearby PC. Anyway, things were fine for a while, but a few months after using it, I was plugging it back in to the USB hub on the back of the monitor (after having it in the PC), and the computer freezed IMMEDIATELY after plugging it in. I do have a lot of USB/firewire peripherals, but at the end of the day, the problem started with plugging in the Sprint card. After this, it was continuous crash after crash.
I ended up doing a total clean install of my system because things were becoming such a hassle. I was stupid and continued to use the sprint card after everything was back to normal, and I'm back to the crashing. I've had to force shutdown about 5 times, and I don't want to do it anymore (The last time I did this, I ended up having to do manual shutdowns about 10 times and the HD and RAM DID survive, so I'm hoping it will be a trooper again and not be physically damaged).
Is it at all possible that I have somehow damaged the USB system on the computer? I have a 4-port PCI express card, too.
As far as the current series of crashes -- I will NEVER plug that sprint card into the computer again. now, I need help just getting the computer so that it won't crash a few seconds after loading the finder and/or freeze during the boot.
I want to do a system check from the startup disc, but I need to actually get the DVD INTO the computer -- but it's crashing... what do I do? I can startup in safe mode, but it crashes fairly quickly. Holding down C at startup either leaves it frozen with a blue screen, or crashes just after the dock/finder loads. any other advice on getting things stable?Here is my recommendation on shopping list and brief tutorial.
Try setting up a couple new hard drives.
Pull the old one for now at least.
Drive #1 main system
Drive #2 600GB backup, 35GB emergency system
Drive #3 data, media files and libraries
Drive #4 scratch if needed, and TimeMachine
Buy SuperDuper or use Carbon Copy 3.3
Buy Alsoft Disk Warrior or another top utility for disk and system maintenance and repairs.
Your current hard drive is corrupt to the point you can't boot from anything or do anything. So the directory and catalogue and probably journal file are "shot" and can't repair itself. May also have bad sectors.
USB modems I know don't work well if at all in Mac OS.
USB cables can cause shorts or electrical anomalies, more often seen as a kernel panic
Instead of the monitor, why not direct USB port? or off your PCIe USB card that it sounds like you added?
When things are "normal" is when you want to make a backup image and keep it for safe keeping.
An actual disk image; a volume image or clone.
A "working" backup with the latest changes.
An emergency system partition that you never use except for maintenance (make a backup image of it too for safety)
Run Disk Warrior etc on a regular basis before there is trouble as preventative maintenance

"Translator" process is hogging CPU, causing crashes - what is it?
So in the past few weeks, my machine has seemed slower and slower each day. In the past week, my mouse will jump across my 2 screens erratically. I thought it was either the mouse or USB port so tried different configurations until it occurred to me that, on random days, after a random startup; all is well.
I popped open the Activity Monitor and now can confirm my problem. My machine works great when the process "Translator" behaves itself. Every time I get the erratic mouse, slow window response and (every time) an eventual freezing of my screen requiring forced restart - Translator is hogging all my CPU. If I sample it, my machine crashes to a freeze. It I get more info on it, I can see that Translator has to do with syncservices (why do so many problems on 10.5 have to do with syncservices?). I have tried Googling for more info on it, but there doesn't seem to be anything out there. If I force quit it (standard quit doesn't work), my system will hang.
Does anyone know what this is and how to fix my problem?
I know the standard next steps (create a new user account and migrate files sans ~/Library, re-install OS, etc.) but am afraid that the problem will resurface if ties to syncservices (I do use Mobileme to sync, have an iPhone and an iPod). I guess I'm looking for more info before proceeding with drastic and time intensive measures that may very well yield the same problem despite the effort.
Any help would be very much appreciated. It is worth noting that it took 5 full minutes for me to correct my spelling in this post due to the erratic mouse. Good times. I am off to restart - again.

That link to opendns was VERY VERY interesting. I looked at my routing tables and indeed, they hijack google DNS entries and cause all sorts of havoc as a consequence. As junky as my ISP's DNS service is (RoadRunner/Time Warner in SoCal), I believe I will switch back to them as I find I don't get the original problem, with Exchange enabled, when using their DNS instead of opendns.
What a mess and my thanks for the quick eye (I am going to mark your post as the solution for me)! I can't say that I am certain whether this is solely an opendns issue or if it is an issue with Exchange sync on the Mac, separate from opendns; however I am in a position where I don't really require either so both disabling Exchange and removing opendns are acceptable to me. Hopefully both Apple (exchange support - possibly fixed in Snow Leopard?) and OpenDNS (the idiot idea to re-route google dns) address their issues and can use issues such as mine to replicate the problem.
How would a home user with either little desire or knowledge ever diagnose an issue such as this? For every person like me, there has to be 10 who would believe their mouse needs replacing, then take it to the shop after that doesn't work, then get a new machine, etc. An entire sub-economy seeded by a simple software-based issue. -
Tecra M3 video drivers causing crashes
My Toshiba Tecra M3 is crashing (freezing or blue screen of death) with drivers 71.14, 71.36, and 76.44. It uses an NVIDIA GeForce Go 6600 TE 128M. When I uninstall all video drivers (or boot into safe mode), the laptop runs fine, although of course scrolling is deadly slow and I can't suspend or hibernate. But when I install either of the two WHQL certified drivers from Toshiba's site, 71.44 or 71.36, I can consistently create a crash just by running a 3D screensaver for more than 3 minutes. The same thing happens with the 76.44 non-WHQL driver from laptopvideo2go.com.
Sorry if this is not the best thread to post on, but I would desperately appreciate any help you can offer on what driver might work reliably. At this point, I'm not at all interested in great graphics performance; I just want a stable laptop to do some work on. Is there perhaps some setting within the driver to turn off whatever fancy features are causing the crash?
The laptop has a 2.13 GHz Pentium M and 2 GB of RAM. It's running WinXP SP2 with all updates and is using BIOS 1.20, the latest. And I doubt it's a related, but here's a different problem I ran into with the VPN, Wi-Fi, and Matlab.

I suppose that your notebook worked properly at the beginning. Can you maybe remember since when the unit started to make these troubles to you? It is not easy to give you a proper opinion or any kind of solution because every problem is caused by some reason.
First of all I want to say that you should use just display driver given by Toshiba and not some driver that you found on the net. The drivers that you got on Tools & utilities CD or drivers that you can find on Toshiba site are all tested and they should work properly. As far as I know Tecra M3 is a new model and also delivered with SP2. That means that all drivers are also tested to work properly with SP2.
Before you spend lot of times searching the right solution you should, in my opinion, save your data and reinstall OS using Recovery CD. On this way you will have a stable laptop to do some work on it. If there is no second partition you can make it for data saving using expert mode installation.
