Spry submenu is hidden by iframe on page

I normally do not use iframes but this particular site requires that i do.
I am using spry horizontal menu bar and the drop down submenu under products is hidden by the iframe. I have tried several variations with position and z-index but can't get the submenu to show on top of the iframe.
http://www.airpowerservicesinc.com/kaeser_aftercool_air.php
thank you for any help,
Jim Balthrop

I found out the problem is not with the iframe itself, but i was using the iframe to display a pdf file and
found out that browers do not support showing a pdf file on a web page. So I guess that is why the spry submenu will not show on top of the iframe, because it displays a pdf file. When i had the iframe display a php page, the spry submenu showed on top of the iframe.

  • Spry Vertical Submenu Bar Appears Behind iFrame

    In IE and Chrome, the Spry vertical submenu bar appears properly on every page of the website, except for the one page that has iframes.
    In IE, the submenus appear behind the iFrames
    In Chrome, the submenus appear in front of the iFrames but with an incomplete border
    In Firefox and Safari, the submenus appear as they should (in front of the iframes and with a complete border)
    I've scoured this forum and tried several fixes that seemed to work for others with slightly different conditions but didn't work for mine.
    I've included my SpryMenuBarVertical.css for referece; if you can offer a fix for this particular issue, I'd be forever grateful. Thank you!

  • Safari 3.1 not displaying Spry submenu correctly

    I am redesigning a site and have placed a Horizontal Spry
    menu at the top of the page. Some of the options in the menu have a
    sub menu with some of the options in one of the sub menus having
    their own sub menu. I have tested this in IE 7, Opera, FireFox and
    Safari 3.1 and it works perfectly in all except for Safari 3.1. In
    Safari 3.1 the sub menus fly out horizontally instead of dropping
    down vertically as it should. Has anyone else had this problem? If
    so does anyone know if it is a bug in Safari 3.1 and if so is there
    a fix or a hack? Any help would be appreciated.
    Unfortunately I am not at the moment able to put up a live
    page for you to see this in action but I will put a copy of my Spry
    CSS at the bottom of this post.
    I guess if it wasn’t for the fact that some of the
    options in one of the sub menus, having their own sub menu I could
    leave it as it usable by flying out horizontally, but when the
    second sub menu flies out it covers up the rest of the options in
    the first sub menu.
    Thanks.

    As extra info on this topic - I did an archive reinstall of 10.5.2 and Safari was working fine.
    Performed a software update which installed 6 packages and upgraded the OS to 10.5.5 and Safari is once again crapped in an identical manner to before.
    It would seem to be a problem with an OS update.
    Can anyone else verify and/or provide a fix

  • Spry Submenu in IE not displaying correctly and appears way out of position

    I have used a horizontal spry menu with submenu's
    (www.nationalbartender.co.uk). Everything works fine except for in
    IE the submenu's look different and they dont hover over everything
    else. Instead they move the content down the page to make room and
    appear horizontally across the page instead of underneath each
    other. A nightmare thats taking ages to sort. If anybody can take a
    quick look at the site. Maybe view it in Safari and then in IE and
    offer any guidance I would appreciate it! cheers.

    I haven't been able to get my site posted up yet. Here is a link to it anyway:andrearosales.com
    I will be working on connecting my files up to my server. At the moment, here are some screen shots of some messages that I am getting when I am saving my file.
    I'm not sure what to make of these messages. I tried to put a new spry horizontal menu bar on my main page, and when it appeared, it displayed as a spry vertical menu bar.
    Here is a picture of what it looks like:
    I"m going to refer to the links that were suggested to me though. I'm not sure if pictures of the code will help to solve my problem. I'm going to try again to connect my files to my server though.

    You not are using the latest Spry files
    The latest  version of the Adobe Spry Framework is 1.6.1, this is the same version  that ships with Dreamweaver CS4. If you use Dreamweaver CS3 (uses Spry  1.4), its wise to upgrade your files to the latest version. This can  easily be done using the Spry Updater that can be found here.

  • Sliding Panels hidden content shows on page load

    Greetings,
    I am working on a site for a child abuse prevention
    non-profit and need some help asap!
    I am using the unobtrusive sliding panels at:
    Adobe
    Unobtrusive Sliding Panels Example
    I have two panels side by side. When the page loads, all of
    the hidden content is briefly shown to the right of the panels. It
    does this on the adobe sample as well.
    Is there ANY way to hide this hidden content during the page
    load? If so, could I get exact instructions? I am more of a
    front-end person and not the best with scripting.
    BTW, all of the content is static so the "Adobe Hiding Data
    References During Page Load" does not work in this instance.
    Thanks in advance!!

    Try this:
    1. Set a class that sets visibiliity to hidden:
    .hideGroup{visibility:hidden;}
    2. Add this class to your content group:
    <div class="SlidingPanelsContentGroup hideGroup">
    3. Add a line to sp_unobtrusive.js to remove this new class
    after the widget made.
    Spry.$$(".SlidingPanelsContentGroup").removeClassName("hideGroup");
    Add that right under the addEventListener lines.
    That should do it.

  • How do I add a submenu without having to add a page?

    I have a "Services" page created for our customer.  There are currently two sub-pages from the Services page each having their own SubMenu button.  On the services page are two types of services that DO NOT need their own pages (which is why they are on the root of Services).
    The customer wants submenus for the two services that are on the root of the services page.  Currently when you hover your mouse arrow over the "Services" button, the submenues with pages only appear.
    How do you create a submenu without having to create a page?

    Hello,
    In case you are looking for a customized Menu then I would suggest you to use Manual Menu. Using Manual Menu you will be able to create your own Menu and will be able to link each Menu to the desired pages/files/URLs.
    The only thiinh that will be a task would be creating the whole Menu again (as it is not created automatically). Please refer to screenshot below on how to create Manual Menu :
    Hope this helps.

    Sachin

  • Weird Spry Submenu Effect in Internet Explorer

    It looks like the first category item of a Spry submenu is stretching vertically to the same length of the Spry sub sub menu to the right. It works fine in Safari and Firefox. It is only doing this in IE 8 on a pc

    Thank you!

    I am not sure if the following is the cause of the problem but try it.
    /* HACK FOR IE: to stabilize appearance of menu items; the slash in float is to keep IE 5.0 from parsing */
    @media screen, projection
         ul.MenuBarHorizontal li.MenuBarItemIE
              display: inline;
              f\loat: left;
         ul.MenuBarHorizontal ul li.MenuBarItemIE
              display: inline;
              f\loat: left;
    The second set of rules should be deleted.
    I hope this helps.

  • I can´t see the Menu Spry submenu because a slideimages hide

    I can´t see the Menu Spry submenu because a slideimages hide. The slide image is under the spry horizontal menu, so when a put the mouse over, the submenus open behind the slide images.
    How can I repair.
    Thanks a lot, I can´t continue my work because of this.
    Sorry for may english.
    Thank you.

    Assuming that the image slider is coded in JS and not Flash, there should be a z-index specified. Usually the value of the z-index is some absurdly high number. The challenge is to give the sub menu items of the menu bar a higher z-index value or to reduce the z-index of the image slider to a value lower than that of the menu bar.
    The value of the z-index (1020) for the menu bar is located on or about line 48 of the SpryMenuBarHorizontal.css

  • Spry submenu shows on top in ie

    Help, I have tried everything.  My product spry submenu works in every browser except ie.  The address is www.timelessflooringdesign.com.
    Thanks

    You are not using the latest Spry files
    The latest version of the Adobe Spry Framework is 1.6.1, this is the same version that ships with Dreamweaver CS4. If you use Dreamweaver CS3 (uses Spry 1.4), its wise to upgrade your files to the latest version. This can easily be done using the Spry Updater that can be found here.

  • More then one Iframe per page?

    Hi, is there any possibility to show more then one iframe per page.Beacuse when I put two html regions on my page with this content, only one is shown?
    <IFRAME src="f?p=&APP_ID.:1610:&SESSION.::&DEBUG.:1600:P1600_ID:20"
    style="width:400px;height:400px"
    name="details"
    scrolling="yes" marginwidth="3" marginheight="3"
    frameborder="2" vspace="2" hspace="2" />

    Hello,
    Should be possible. Can you see both iframes in the generated HTML code? Aren't they just overlapping each other?
    Otherwise try to embed both iframes in a DIV and position that DIV where you want it (one left, the other one right for instance).

  • Spry submenu displays in top left corner of page in IE

    I am new and hope someone can help solve the problem with the Spry dropdown submenu.  It's displaying in the top left corner of the page in IE instead of under the menu items, but is fine in Firefox.  I have attached an image of the problem and web address.

    The markup is all wrong. Have a look at the first few lines of the widget markup and compare that to what you have.

  • Spry Menu Panel Hidden by another element on page.

    imagesandwords.org.uk/Don/index03.php
    That's my page.
    The drop-down menu gets hidden by the footer region.
    Refresh the page because some of the bigger random images push the footer low enough for the menu to display.
    Any idea how I can stop that happening?
    Thanks
    Martin

    Hi Martin,
    The problem is happening because your wrapper div's property are set as following:
    #wrapper {
        width: 900px;
        margin: 0 auto;
        overflow:hidden;
    Because overflow is hidden the amount by which page need to scroll for a long sub menu is also hidden.
    If you set it as following:
    #wrapper {
        width: 900px;
        margin: 0 auto;
        overflow:auto;
    Then your menu will be visible but an unwanted scroll will come up.
    Either you have to think of a better position for this menu (or change the design) so that it is able to take its height:
    Position your menu at the top inside the white region as following and see if you like it that way.
    #navigation {
        width: 180px;
        float: left;
        padding: 0px 0 180px 0;

  • Spry submenu hidden by jQuery slider

    I've used Thomas Kahn's Smooth Div Scroll to make a photo slideshow on my site. The scroller works totally fine, except that it hides submenus that should appear when I hover over items in the spry menu bar. I thought this would have something to do with the z-index of the scroller, but I tried playing with that (and the z-index of the menu bar) to no avail. I'm a co-op student making this site for my employer, and we weren't taught how to do this kind of stuff in school so I'm a little overwhelmed. Any help is appreciated!
