Spry Validation Textarea Widget "error: missing ) after argument list"

Hi all,
I'm trying to apply validation on textarea in one of my forms but it keeps giving me the same error msg in Firefox "missing ) after argument list". Funny thing is that the line witch initiate the textarea object is one on one from the Spry Framework Documentation!
Here is fragment of the form code:

Here is the code that initialize this object:

I have also 2 other text inputs befor that element and they are working just fine befor i initiate that particular textarea!
I can't see an error or missing argument in this line, please if somebody encounter the same problem and have solution I be glade to share his experience!

Your code is missing a comma after "chars_remaining" as in
var sprytextarea1 = new Spry.Widget.ValidationTextarea("cContentCont", {maxChars:100, counterType:"chars_remaining", counterId:"charCounter"});

When I validate it, I receive a message:
LINE 0 syntax error: " missing ) after argument list"
When I delete the *REC line, the validation is OK.
Any idea why do I get this message?

I am sorry if I have not been lear. The script passed validation. The "." is not in the name of the variable but in the values of the dimension. My Budget models IDs were YYYY.MODEL1. I have an attribute called MODEL_NOYEAR, which includes the characters to the right of the ".". When I used it and only inside the LOOKUP added the year it worked fine.
My Time dimension has the same issue, It is defined as YYYY.MM. Again, in your last proposed script, you have cycled over a property, which only includes the period number. This gave me the idea.
I know that the REC needs the ( without spaces. Took me one night to find this out....:(
Now, after I have passed validation a new challenge arrived.
Basically each Budget Model has 2 properties. One is the Exchange Rate Type and the other is the currency of purchase. The LOOKUP should be accessing another application based on the Month and the two properties of the model.
It suddenly struck me that the script is not good since the lookup is not bringing the values.
I have tried the following versions:
1. Straight forward version - use the name of the propery of the calling dimension. Did not work.

2. Use the value of the calling dimension "." the propery name. Did not work

I can not escape the feeling that somehow I do not understand the way the BPC is handling the data and how and when it calculates variables and defines them.
Any idea how do I perform the lookup based on the property values?

Can you help me out in letting me know what this means and how I can fix this? I found it in my tools menu under error console. It was listed as a warning, but then there was a option to highlight and evaluate the original warning message that was listed as

I am writing to ask for guidance on what to do and how to fix this.
I current have Firefox as my default browser. I have IE 9 and Windows 7 home ed on my HP lap top that has AOL preloaded into it as the mail provider. I am a beginner user and when I got the computer my cousin set up Mozilla and Firefox as a search browser and I like it.

Spry Validation Confirm Widget

Ugh. This is driving me nuts!
I've used the Spry Validation Confirm Widget successfully before, but for some reason I can't spot, I get this error message every time I try to load the page: Spry.ValidationConfirm ERR: The element ConfirmPasswordWidget doesn't exists!

Folks -
I have narrowed down the cause.
This error appears if the form to which the confirm validation is applied is inside an if condition that is not met, causing the form not to appear in the html source. It doesn't seem to affect the password validation similarly, just the confirm validation.
Doesn't this have to be bug? I'm not fluent in Javascript, so I'd sure appreciate someone telling my how to work around this.
This is the structure that causes the error to be generated, but only when condition is FALSE. If condition is TRUE, no error is generated.

Spry validation select widget problem

Dreamweaver CS3
Im using spry validation for my form but the two spry validation select widgets I am using are not working. When I test them I keep getting errors that nothing has been selected when something has in fact been selected. I've used spry validation before with no problems but this is the first time using the spry validation select widget.

Spry Validation Textarea

Does anybody have a solution for keeping the Spry Validation Textarea from resizing in Firefox?
Example at http://thebfpd.org/contact.htm. Just clicking in the textarea causes it to resize then starting to type causes it to shrink even more.
Also, why does the Spry Validation Textarea have a different default font than the Spry Validation Textfield? textfield=san serif textarea = serif

Just tried adding

as suggested in another post Spry Menu Bar IE v FF.
Well, that took care of the mis-matched fonts but now the textarea box grows when you click on it and then grows more when you start typing.

To do this, make your region depend on both
ds_ProductCategories and ds_BestConvertingByCategory, then use the
spry:test attribute in conjunction with spry:repeat to weed out
items that don't have the same product id:

Spry validation textfield widget

I've followed the lynda.com tutorial
online
here & added the widget to my page in DWCS4.
I can preview the various states in the properties bar but it
is not working when I save the page & preview in my browser (or
live view).
My page is a php file - does this make any difference?

Spry validation textfield errors are appearing as regular text

I am trying to create a simple email contact form using two spry validation text fields and one spry validation textarea. I inserted a spry validation text field called "Name", and then a second below it called "email" and then a spry validation textarea called "message" I gave the email field an email validation to come on at Blur, and a textarea character count validation of no more than 400 characters. The problem is that the error messages are appearing as soon as the page is loaded, they are bypassing their initial states. They say: "A value is required.Invalid format." and "A value is required.Exceeded maximum number of characters."

IWeb Blog Summary Widget error

I have seen this problem posted here before, but I'm posting it again. Why? Because it's an incredibly annoying error and I can't believe nobody has found a way around it.
The error is on the Blog entry page, the error code is BLOG SUMMARY WIDGET ERROR. It also lists a few lines that are problems, noting that a reference error is to blame.
I'm sure I am not the only person with this problem. I can't figure it out, my simple knowledge of Java isn't getting me anywhere in the code. Oddly, it isn't actually effecting my page in any way, with the exception of the error code. Anyway, anyone with suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated.

Another odd thing, the blog summary page refuses to acknowledge photos, even when I use the original image... very odd indeed.

I'm getting the same problem too. I've just updated my iWeb from 1 to 2. I've had to more or less re-create my Blog from scratch as the upgrade wrecked the summary and recent items pages (probably because I'd use jTemplate).
So I created a new Site, dragged the old blog over to it and created a brand new one in my proper site. I then copied all my formatting over AND all the entries. All looks fine in iWeb, but I see the same error messages as described here. Take a look here : http://www.andrewmay.biz/test/
Obviously I've moved a lot of stuff around from the normal White template, and deleted a few things too, but I would have hoped that iWeb wouldn't let me trash things that then broke it.

After Spry validation how to redirect to a "you have successfully register" page

I am helping a friend set up a webpage for her business. You can see the website here www.themessagetext.com. I used a Spry validation for the phone number and the checkbox. One the validation is verified, I want the user to be redirected to a page that says that they have successfully register. Right now it takes you to an ugly page. It looks like an error page, but it says that you have successfully register.
I am using Internet Explorer 7. I am also using CS4 Dreamweaver. I am also usingSpryValidationCheckbox.css - version 0.4 - Spry Pre-Release 1.6.1 and SpryValidationTextField.css - version 0.4 - Spry Pre-Release 1.6.1
I am new to web design. So if you can be as specific as possible I would appreciate it. I don't even know where in the code it tells the form after it is submitted to redirect to this certain page.

When loading the page the first time it's not a big problem. But when the users enters some unvalid data the page lodes again and in the onload section from the body the function validateall is startet.

The error occurs again and the validation is not yet done. Which means, that the fields with problems will not be marked. When entering the field afterward and changing or blur everything works ok and the field is marked in red. Only the onload is not working.
Any ideas, what the problem is?

Spry validation disappears - leaves widget code

I have added the spry validation to my form fields many
times. This particular form, I have had to add them twice already
and now I got an error that says the javascript for widgets that
are missing are still on the page. I see the widget javascript at
the bottom of my page in code view. I also see other changes I made
to the form fields at the same time that I added the spry
validation. So I am not imagining that I already did this.
What could have happened to make the validation disappear?
