SQL calculation in expression editor CR 2008

This SQL expression works on MS SQL Server 2005 but not in the SQL Expression Editor of Crystal Reports.
Why? Any alternatives?
declare @Trash Decimal

Select (@Trash / @Done) * 100

Create two different sql expressions like this
%Expression1:
  select count(*) from dbo.NL_NM_NUON
  WHERE MAN_CAMPAIGNNAME = '9.304_Winback TM CM Jan 2010 - Bosch'  AND
fldFormalities In ('Persoon is verhuisd', 'Adres matcht niet met telefoonnummer',
'Weigering Gesprek', 'Dubbel in bestand', 'Persoon overleden',
         'Beslisser tijdens actieperiode afwezig')
    OR
fldEndresult = 'Is sinds kort klant bij NUON'
%Expression2:
  select count(*) from
  NL_NM_NUON Where
  NL_NM_NUON.MAN_CAMPAIGNNAME = '9.304_Winback TM CM Jan 2010 - Bosch' AND
  STATUS IN ('U','F')
Now Create a formula like this
({%Expression1}/{%Expression2})*100

  • SQL Server 2008 R2 Std with SQL Server 2005 Express Subscriptions

If we have SQL Server 2005 Express Merge Replication Subscriptions that synch to a SQL Server 2008 R2 Standard Edition. Do
the Subscriptions still have same file size limitations even though they synch to a Proper Standard Version of SQL Server 2008?
If so what are these limitations?
What happens in the instance where by the server file becomes huge then the Subscriptions will not allow the data to replicate
as the Express Subscription engine has a file size limitation - or does this not matter??

You will get messages on your SQL Server Express  servers that the merge agent cannot write to the SQL Express database. These messages are difficult to debug as you don't get a warning you have exceeded the size limit on the subscriber.

  • How to change sql expression of SQL-Calculated Attribute of view object ?

    Hi
    jdev 11.1.1.5
I have a view object with a SQL-Calculated Attribute (sumAnalytic) how can I change sql expression of this attribute in runtime?
for example in application module method??

    Hi Mr Timo
Thanks for your reply but I do not need dynamic vo because I can not change all of my vo
I only need to change expression of SQL-Calculated Attribute of view object in run time.
For this I set expression in view object something like this 'select 2 from dual' and in run time in my AM method I get the vo query and replace 'select 2 from dual' with something like 'selet sum(amnt) over (partition by 1)' and set new query.
But I think the better solution must exist
    Thanks

  • SQL Server 2012 Express error 9002 while restoring a backup from 2008

    Hi all,
I have installed SQL Server 2012 Express on my laptop operating with win 8. Then I took the backup in my old laptop with SQL Server 2008R Express / Windows 7 and tried to restore it to the new one.
After it restored it produced an error messaging saying that restore failed. The error code was 9002 and it says due to NOTHING. I checked the log file it is a file of 1024 kb size, not big. When I installed the SQL 2012 I disabled the autogrowth of the
log file (exactly same setting as I had with 2008) The log is not big. I tried to further shrink, no change.
Moreover the db is already there with full records, I can manipulate it.  Even take a back w/o problems. What is this issue? Is it resolved?
    thanks

an error messaging saying that restore failed. The error code was 9002
and it says due to NOTHING. I
    select *

  • CR IX R2: SQL Expression Editor - Max on Group

This works, but it only shows the MAX value of the entire column, for all teams:
    (SELECT MAX("PlanSegment_Team"."priority")
    FROM   (("Plan" INNER JOIN "PlanSegment"
    ON "Plan"."pkPlan"="PlanSegment"."fkPlan") INNER JOIN "PlanSegment_Team" "PlanSegment_Team"
    ON "PlanSegment"."pkPlanSegment"="PlanSegment_Team"."fkPlanSegment") INNER JOIN "Team"
    ON "PlanSegment_Team"."fkTeam"="Team"."pkTeam"
But I want to show the MAX value for each Team's list of priorities. The following is my best guess:
    (SELECT MAX("PlanSegment_Team"."priority"), "PlanSegment_Team"."fkTeam"
    FROM   (("Plan" INNER JOIN "PlanSegment"
    ON "Plan"."pkPlan"="PlanSegment"."fkPlan") INNER JOIN "PlanSegment_Team" "PlanSegment_Team"
    ON "PlanSegment"."pkPlanSegment"="PlanSegment_Team"."fkPlanSegment") INNER JOIN "Team"
    ON "PlanSegment_Team"."fkTeam"="Team"."pkTeam"
    GROUP BY "PlanSegment_Team"."fkTeam")
but it gives me an error of
"Only one expression can be specified in the select list when the subquery is not introduced with EXISTS."
    Any help?

    Don,
Thanks for your quick response.  Are you saying I just got lucky with my first expression, even though it uses SELECT?
If so, is there somewhere that will tell me exactly what SQL Expression Editor is supposed to be for? I'm trying to learn this stuff to make myself more job-marketable.
    Thank you very much,

  • Overlapped I/O error 997 installing SQL Server 2014 Express on Windows Server 2012 R2

I'm attempting to install SQL Server 2014 Express on a Windows Server 2012 R2 system. When I do the install, it fails (several times) with an "Error: 997. Overlapped I/O operation is in progress.". From searching the web, I can see many people
have had this problem with this installer and other non-SQL server installers.
I've tried every solution I can find discussed, but none help with my problems The system is fully updated, with the exception of the KB2538243 (VC 2008 SP1 redist), which is probably failing for the same reason.
I've tried removing several updates mentioned in other articles (KB2918614). I've confirmed that I'm not using a temporary profile.
Does anyone have an idea of how I can solve this issue?
    Thanks,
    Zack

  • In the expression editor dialog box my TAB key doesn't function correctly

This is bizarre behavior that seems to have started recently.
In Visual Studio 2012, an SSRS project, any expression editor dialog:
The tab key doesn't work right.
    Open the expression editor and:
    * I see a blinking cursor and I can type in the expression box.
    * If I hit the tab key, the cursor disappears and I cannot type.  I appear to lose focus in the editor but focus doesn't appear to go anywhere else in the dialog box.
    * If I hit the tab key a 2nd time, the cursor is still gone and I cannot type.
    * If I hit the tab key a 3rd time, I can finally type again and note that I am now
3 tabstops in.  In other words it seems like the tabs were working but I lost the ability to type anything until I "tab" 3 magical times.
I can work around this by hitting tab key then grabbing the mouse and clicking where the cursor SHOULD be which returns focus to the text area.
    Hopefully this image helps clarify:
    Anybody know what is wrong?

    Hi Bostaevski,
Thank you for posting in MSDN forum.
According to your description, as you said that the cursor disappears and cannot type issue. It seems that the issue may be not Visual Studio the VS IDE issue.
In addition, I find a similar thread about the
    Expression Editor Cursor Issue,
    please see:
    http://www.beta.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedbackdetail/view/780682/vs-2012-rdlc-expression-editor-cursor-issue#.
Therefore, I suggest you could also try to press alt with left and right arrow keys and check if it is works fine.
    Thnank for your understanding!

  • Error when installing SQL Server 2014 Express

I am running a Win 8.1 desktop 64bit (fully updated) with already installed SQL Server 2012 and Visual Studio 2010 and 2013 (non Express versions). I need to keep SQL Server 2012 for development purposes but also need SQL Server 2014 for a database
provided to me by others which needs this version. I found out it should be possible to run the two versions side-by-side. During installation of SQL Server 2014 Express I selected all features except 'Local Db' and used a named instanc
    e. The setup runs through without any notice of problems but at the end fails with error code 1638 the reason being 'Error installing Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Redistributables'. Also at the end a window pops up mention 'The working of SQL Server
2014 stopped - Trying to find a solution'. Doing nothing on my part the window disappears and nothing else happens. So I uninstalled any 'Redistributable' and ran setup again. Same result though both 'Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable
    - x86 9.0.30729.4974' and 'Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x64 Redistributable - 10.0.40219' re-appear in Control Panel as being
    p
roperly installed! All features are marked as 'failed' with one and the same error 1638. Even tried just upgrading to see if that would work but also here same error.
I have not been able to find the proper solution so I am now stuck. Hopefully someone can give me the right steps to take? Ruud van der Spoel

    Hello,
Error 1638 means another version of the product is already installed. Probably you have a 32-bit version installed but
the installation requires a 64-bit version of VC.
Try to manually install both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of each VC.
    Hope this helps.

  • Installing SQL Server 2014 Express package as ClickOnce prerequisite

I'm using clickOnce and deploying an installer with it.
I have tried various settings. Using SQL Server 2008 Express and SQL Server 2012 Express as prerequisite is all ok (I've dowloaded them and set the option of clickonce "download prerequisites from the same path of app").
Now I'm trying to do the same thing with SQL Server 2014 Express.
Since the SQL Server 2014 Express package isn't alredy done line 2008 and 2012 versiones, I'm trying to create it.
I have done and it seems to work, but while installing it gives error number **-2054422506**. It is a very generic error and I don't understand it.
It appears a pop up saying the installation is stopped because it is an error installing SQL Server Express 2014 and to look the log for more infos.
    The log only says:
        Installing using command
        'C:\Users\VIRTUA~1\AppData\Local\Temp\VSD24F4.tmp\SqlExpress2014\
        SQLEXPR32_x86_ITA.EXE' and parameters '/q /action=Install /features=SQL
        /instancename=SQLEXPRESS /securitymode=SQL /sapwd=234692Is
        /sqlsvcaccount="NT Authority\Network Service'
        Process exited with code -2054422506
Status of package 'SQL Server 2014 Express' after install is 'InstallFailed'
So, I've tried to install SQL Server 2014 Express manually, without ClickOnce, and it works. So I think I've made some mess in the xml file of the package.
My package is so build (in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v8.1A\Bootstrapper\Packages\):

I've copied the SqlExpressChk.exe file from the SQL Server 2012 Express package, hoping it is the same (2008 and 2012 versions seems the same, so I supposed it also for the 2014).
I've delete the part in package.xml about the publicKey, since I don't know it and, further, I think I don't need it.
In the same file, I've inserted custom parameters, first like in the 2008 and 2012 versions, then doing some attempts (without success).
Did anyone have this problem? How did you have manage it?
**NOTE**: I'm using my clickOnce deploy in an empty virtual machine, so there aren't any conflicts o something similar.
More attempts, more failures, always the same error! I'm deleting the optional stuff to study better the core of the xml, but still no success.. does microsoft have a package of sql server 2014 express?

    thanks! =)
SqlServer usually runs a file (SqlExpressChk.exe) to see if there is already an installation and a sql instance called sqlExpress (for the express installations). Do you know how can do this test with the bootstrapper manifest generator?
I am not able to test it currently, but I assume that will also check whether that has installed.
    You have tested it, right?

  • SQL Server 2012 Express Instance is Not Discovered

I have a single SQL Server 2012 Express instance that is the backend database for a small door security application.  I just noticed after having deployed the OpsMgr agent months ago that it never discovered the SQL instance.  The SQL instance
is, as stated, Express, and it's the only Express instance I have.  Is that why it is not discovered?  All the documentation I found seems to indicate the opposite -- that Express is discovered and there are steps you can take to exclude Express
instances.  I have no overrides set to exclude any instance or any database.
    - System Center Operations Manager 2012 RTM (no SP1, no R2)
    - SQL Server 2012 MP version 6.3.173.1
    - SQL Server is Windows Server 2012
    - SQL Server 2012 Express running on a Hyper-V VM.  Instance is named DOORSERVER\Eclipse
    - Agent is installed and other discoveries seem to be working fine
    - No discovery errors in the event log related to SQL, although there is one about the Windows Server 2008 discovery not being able to start, but I'm on Windows Server 2012, so I am guessing that's okay?
    - No overrides are set on the discovery
    - Discovery has found every other SQL Server 2012 instance (standard and enterprise editions)

Well, just realized I didn't have the latest MP.  Upgrading to 6.4.1.0 version of the SQL MP fixed the discovery issue.

  • SQL Server 2014 Express extract file parameter?

I am working to bundle SQL Server 2014 Express with an application.  I am using the following command line to install via an InstallShield prerequisite:  /qs /INSTANCENAME=MYINSTANCE /ACTION="Install" /FEATURES=SQLEngine,Conn,SSMS
    /SECURITYMODE=SQL /SAPWD="Password" /TCPENABLED=1 /SQLSVCACCOUNT="NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM" /IACCEPTSQLSERVERLICENSETERMS
The installer I am using is SQLEXPRWT_x86_ENU.exe.
When the installer starts up their is a dialog named:  Choose Directory for Extract Files.  In earlier versions of SQL Server Express this dialog did not require the user to press Ok to continue.  Since it takes several minutes to install
SQL Server Express I prefer to show the installation to the user, so they can see that something is taking place.  The /q (Quiet) parameter will suppress this dialog, but nothing is seen for several minutes.  Note:  the Installer documentation
does state that:  The /QS switch only shows progress, does not accept any input, and displays no error messages if encountered. The /QS parameter is only supported when /Action=install is specified.  Consequently, I believe the /QS parameter
    should not be requiring input.
    All that for these questions:
    1) Is there away to suppress this dialog while still using the /qs (Quiet Simple) parameter.
    2) Is there a parameter to tell the installer to extract the files to a specified location?
    Thanks,
    Les

    Hi,
After you download the installation package of SQL Server Express 2014, and extracts it to the specified location, the dialog of “Choose Directory for Extract Files” will appear when you install the SQL Server Express. Usually, we need to use the following
steps to extract the setup files to a temporary location.
    1.In the Command Prompt window type %USERPROFILE%\Downloads\ SQLEXPRWT_x86_ENU.exe /x
2.When prompted to Choose Directory For Extracted Files type C:\SQLEXPR and click OK to extract the files.
Or suppress the dialog to extract the right location in SQL Server Express 2008 or other lower version. Such as
    c:\temp>SQLEXPRWT_x64_ENU.exe /extract: "c:\temp".
However, in SQL Server Express 2014, I do a test, we could not suppress the dialog or use the parameters directly to extract in command line. For more information about
installing SQL Server 2014 from the Command Prompt, you can review the following article.
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms144259.aspx
If necessary, personally, I recommend you can provide Microsoft a feature request at
https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer so that we can try to modify and expand the product features based on your needs.

  • Unable to See the Technology Function in The Expression Editor- ODI 11G

    Hi,
I am developing Interface whereas i am unable to see the Technology functions in the Expression Editor where i am trying to do some transformation .
Secondly in the Header it is showing Default language in place of SQL(Oracle)
    any fix please..
    Thanks,
    KP

    I fixed it myself- thanks
Below was the step i did which resolved the issue. hope this will help others
    Go to ODI Studio
    In Topology- Expand Language
    Import New Language
    import in synonym INSERT_UPDATE mode
    The Language definitions from $ODI_HOME/oracledi/xml-reference/LANG_SQL.xml
    click OK

    Thanks,

  • User and global function not resolved and not visible in expression editor

Testing ODI 11.1, I'm trying to affect the value of a (project) variable with a project function result within an ODI package.
My text variable is actually affected but with the litteral name "myfunction('myarg')" instead of its proper result (implemented with Oracle but it doesn't even get so far).
Best hint I got : when I open an expression editor, my variable is visible but my project function is not (although clearly accessible through the project browser tree ; same behavior at global level )
Am I missing something obvious ?
    Thanks

    Hi,
In the following case study, and I quote from it..
" Note that you should never see the function names in the generated code. If you do, check out the following elements:
User Function names are case sensitive. Make sure that you are using the appropriate combination of uppercase and lowercase characters
Make sure that you are using the appropriate number of parameters, and that they have the appropriate type (string, number or date)
Make sure that there is a definition for the User Function for the technology in which it is running. This last case may be the easiest one to oversee, so try to keep it in mind!
As long as you see SQL code in place of the User Function name, the substitution happened successfully."

  • SQL Server 2012 Express Install on Windows 7 SP1 Embedded not using virtual account?

    Hi there,
I did a default installation of SQL Server 2012 Express on Windows 7 embedded Standard SP1.
When I look at the SQLSERVER service credential it is configured to run under "NETWORK SERVICE" instead of the virtual account "NT SERVICE\MSSQL$SQLEXPRESS".
This is different from SQL 2012 Express installation on a non-embedded Windows 7.
    Why is this difference?
Secondly, because of this, I am unable to take a backup of databases to any folder other than the default SQL folder.

    Hi Chandrasekaran,
As Local Service account, the Network Service account and high privileged Local System account could be used by many services.
It becomes harder to track which service is actually accessing resources and performing actions, because all the services are using the one Network Service account or other account.
In Windows7 and Windows Server 2008R2, it introduces a new type of account called a virtual account, which emulates creating many unique instances of the Network Service account, so each service runs with its own instance of the Network Service account.
For example, when you install SQL 2012 on Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows 7 and later you’ll see the services run with virtual service accounts named like:
    in the format NT SERVICE\<SERVICENAME>.
According to your description, when the SQLSERVER service was run under “NETWORK SERVICE”, you only back up database to the default SQL folder. It may be caused by the NETWORK SERVICE account has limited local privileges, just accesses network
resource with the computer credential. I recommend you change the account to Local System account, by default, which has full permissions on your computer.
For more information about SQL Server service account and virtual account, you can review the following articles.
