SQL DEVELOPER 1.5.3: Export Data options for using SQL to write SQL?

I write a lot of SQL that generates SQL. In a competitor's product, I can export query results (Export > Save As > Tab Delimited) to the clipboard, paste the generated SQL into a new window, then execute the generated SQL.
In SQL Developer, using Export Data > Text to the clipboard, it's delimiting each row with double-quotes. Is there any way to turn this behavior off to achieve what I want? Or should I be choosing a different export format?
For now, I can do a search/replace to eliminate the double-quotes,
Thanks.
Dana

Dana,
I probably haven't done this with generating thousands of SQL lines, but I have certainly used the Ctrl-A, Ctrl-C (or Ctrl-Shift-C to get headers) to copy thousands of records of result data. Note that the Ctrl-A forces a fetch of all remaining records that have not yet been fetched, which may add to the time taken by the process - for example, running the query fetches the first 50 records and then Ctrl-A will fetch the remaining records as well as selecting them all, however long that takes. Also, there is a noticeable delay with the Ctrl-C for thousands of records - only rough counting but I was seeing a UI freeze for ~ 4 seconds when copying 10000 records from a query with around 30 columns in it (pasting the clipboard into a file produced a file just under 4MB).

  • Unable to generate "Export data source" for Master data infoobject

    Hi Gurus,
    I'm in BW 3.5
I need to generate "Export data source" for a master data info object.
    I followed below steps:
I ticked the checkbox "Characterist. is export data source" in the master data Info object maintenance screen.
In the Infosource area, for the desired Infoobject --> Right click --> Generate export datasource --> a dialog box displays saying "The generation of DataSource  was successful"
    Problem:
Even after refreshing, etc.. I couldn't find the generated datasource 8**** for the above master data. I also tried to replicate the datasource from the myself source system, but couldn't find it even there. I don't know where the generated export data source is hiding ???
    Could anyone please help ????
    Thanks,
    Venkat

    Hi Venkat,
I guess that after creating an export datasource for infoobject this DS should appear in the RSA1-Source systems - MYSELF - datasource overview (with name starting with 8). Since it's a datamart, it should appear also as system generated infosource. And in this case you would be able to assign in URs of data target the appropriate infosource (make sure that in Infoproviders tab of RSA1 you have inserted your infoobject as a data target).
However, there are some bugs related to export data source. CHeck if you see you export data source in RSA6.
If you don't see it - consider applying OSS Note #816892 - "30BSP26: Export DS for master data is not generated".
Note #876845 - "30BSP29: InfoObject change: Export DataSource not adjusted" is also may be useful.

Attached is Dennis Linam’s Audition – “Log File” and “Log – Last File”
    Contact information Dennis [email protected]
Previous contact information with your organization (DURIM):
Dennis - i just finished my audition trial and bought the subscription the 2014 version.
created by durin in Audition CS5.5, CS6 & CC - View the full discussion
DURIM - Okay.  I would expect the "Cache Warning" message because your default directories would not be the same as the ones in the settings file I generated.
If you go back to the "7.0" directory and open the "Logs" folder, can you copy the "Audition Log.txt" file and send it as an attachment to [email protected]?  We'll take a look in that logfile and see if it gives us more information about why this is failing now.
Also, do you have any other Adobe applications installed on this machine, such as Premiere Pro?  If so, do they launch as expected or fail as well?
I do have the trial Pro version of Adobe reader, but I have not activated it, because I fear the same thing will happen did it. I cannot afford to activate the subscription for that product and take the chance of it not working either. I depend on those two programs religiously. Here is the files that you requested. I appreciate any help you can give me to get this audition program started

  • PDE-PLI038 Cannot open file for use as a PL/SQL library

    Hi,
We are using oracle 12 .0.4 on RHAS 4
I am trying to compile a .pll file with the following code
    frmcmp_batch module=$AP_TOP/patch/115/sql/apacrndb.pls userid=apps/apps module_type=LIBRARY;
    but it's returning the error
PDE-PLI038 Cannot open file for use as a PL/SQL library
    Thanks
    Umair

    Umair,
    What is the issue about?
Usually, it would be required to run the pls files to recreate certain objects (mainly packages) in the database, and you run the pls file from SQL*Plus as apps/applsys user.
Please update the SR and confirm with Oracle Support what the action plan you need to follow to resolve the issue.

  • Exporting from FCP for use with PC

    Hey all,
Trying to deliver a high-med quality 8 minute video from FCP for use with a PC. I've tried exporting both a .mov and .avi using DVCPro50, but neither are readable through the PC. Best I can get is sometimes audio will show up. Does anyone have a good solution for exporting from FCP for use with a PC?
    Thanks again for your help!

I don't think DVCpro50 codec is available on a PC. I think panasonic has a special license with apple only, so you need to try a different codec for the avi.

  • Just downloaded SQL Developer today, need help copy data

How do I import data from Oracle XE to an Oracle server by using SQL Developer?

Probably a better option would be use the export and import utilities provided with the database.
From within SQL*Developer you can export data as either a csv file (and then use sql*loader to load it), or as insert statements which you can run in in either sql*developer or sql*plus.
To export data in sql*developer, right-click on a table or a result set.

  • Package hangs when exporting data to Access DB when running under SQL agent & proxy - works fine under BIDS

Hi all - - I have searched every nook & cranny to find a similar issue, but the ones I have found have not solved my problem.
I have a simple package that exports data from a SQL database (2008R2) to several Access databases (Client needs them to be mdb, not accdb).  The whole thing works fine in BIDS, but even though we have created a proxy for the SQL agent, the job runs
without throwing an error, updates the time stamp on the databases, but does not do anything to them.  I created a log file with both the BIDS version & SQL agent version, and the logs look very similar, except that the BIDS one is about 3 times longer.
The SQL agent one shows no obvious errors or issues.
I do have the Access database engine installed on both the server where the SQL agent is running as well as my development environment.
The job does have the 32 bit runtime option checked as well.
The DBAs are working on the proxy & permissions, and I am wondering if they have missed something in that arena, or if there is something else I may have missed in settings on the package?
We have been beating on this for days now, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    John

    Hi John,
Not sure what "but does not do anything to them" means, but I believe once you start running your job with a domain account based proxy it must work (JET uses Admin behind the scenes to actually manipulates on the db that needs to be impersonated).

  • SQL Developer can't commit edited data in Table Data pane

When I try to commit changes in "Data" pane for selected table SQL Developer gives me a strange error:
One error saving changes to table "TABLENAME".:
Row XXX: Data got commited in another/same session, cannot update row.
I can see in the log that SQL Developer tries to do something like:
    UPDATE "TABLENAME" set "COLUMN"="value1" where ROWNUM="xxxx1" and ROW_SCN=nnn1;
    UPDATE "TABLENAME" set "COLUMN"="value2" where ROWNUM="xxxx2" and ROW_SCN=nnn1;
    UPDATE "TABLENAME" set "COLUMN"="value3" where ROWNUM="xxxx3" and ROW_SCN=nnn2;
If I update the same rows in SQL window by other condition and do commit - all is OK. Why so strange behaivour?
My table has not a primary key and no other users try to change it. SQL Developer version 3.0.04 and Oracle 10.2.0.4 Linux.
    Best regards,
    Sergey Logichev

That's because the inaccuracy of ROW_SCN.
I suggest you turn off Preferences - Database - ObjectViewer - Use ORA_ROWSCN (as I did the very moment we got the option).
    Have fun,

  • SQL Developer 2.1: Problem exporting and importing unit tests

    Hi,
I have created several unit tests on functions that are within packages. I wanted to export these from one unit test repository into another repository on a different database. The export and import work fine, but when running the tests on the imported version, there are lots of ORA-06550 errors. When debugging this, the function name is missing in the call, i.e. it is attempting <SCHEMA>.<PACKAGE> (parameters) instead of <SCHEMA>.<PACKAGE>.<FUNCTION> (parameters).
Looking in the unit test repository itself, it appears that the OBJECT_CALL column in the UT_TEST table is null - if I populate this with the name of the function, then everything works fine. Therefore, this seems to be a bug with export and import, and it is not including this in the XML. The same problem happens whether I export a single unit test or a suite of tests. Can you please confirm whether this is a bug or whether I am doing something wrong?
    Thanks,
    Pierre.

    Hi Pierre,
Thanks for pointing this out. Unfortunately, it is a bug on our side and you have found the (ugly) "work-around".

  • SQL developer to debug a cursor data ?

In the SQL Developer, how to debug a cursor ? In the debug mode, can I see its data what the cursor points to ?

A cursor is a definition and not executable code so there is nothing to 'debug'. That would be analogous to saying you want to 'debug' a query. What does that even mean?
What do you mean by 'see its data what the cursor points to'?
Do you mean see the query underlying the cursor? Then no - you cannot do that.
You can fetch the data or, using dynamic sql you could describe the result set to see what column names and datatypes will be returned but there would be no information about where that data actually came from.
This question isn't really a sql developer question but when you have one of those you should post in the sql developer forum at

  • Export data ready for sql loader

    Hi,
I need to export some data from my database ready to be used by sql loader ... what are tools can I use? Using sqlplus (i.e. spool file.csv select c1||";"||c2||";" from table; spool off) is the only tool I can use?

    Hello,
You have multiple choices depending upon your oracle version on both source and target.
*1. Conventional export/import (no need to generate csv)*
    *2. Datapump (10g)*
*3. Extracting .csv file using sql and loading using sqlldr*
*4. External table unloading data using datapump.*
*5. External table using .csv file generated via sql script.*

  • Sql developer could not fetch any data while running queries?

I have  downloaded  SQL Developer , install jdk1.5.0_22  from the website. Then I run sqldeveloper.exe browse the jdk folder. After that i established the connection but it continuously showing loading..No tables No procedures are loaded . what should i do?

Be careful... SQL Developer requires a JDK or the server JRE (which I believe only comes in 64-bit, so go with the JDK if you are on a 32-bit OS).
Prior to 4.0, the SetJavaHome line in your install directory's sqldeveloper.conf (or sqldeveloper-Darwin.conf on the Mac) must be set, but in 4.0 and above that changes to product.conf under your OS's user settings.  For Windows 7, that would be in...
    C:\Users\<your-userid>\AppData\Roaming\sqldeveloper\1.0.0.0.0\product.conf
Hope this helps.  If not, assuming Windows, run sqldeveloper.exe in the bin directory from a command line console so you can see any standard error output in the console, or do a Ctrl-Break to get a full thread dump of what's happening in the JVM.
