Sql loader error with date format
Hi everyone,
I have table and have a data in one coulmn RECORDED_DATE like '20090224' and my client is asking me to load this coulmn data in 'yyyymmdd' format.I am strucked up with my ideas.I used to_date('20090124','yyyymmdd') in control file.but it is also not working Here it is my control file

ORA-01843: not a valid month
Getting for all records,what i need o change to get the RECORDED_DATE as dateformat.Ple any one help me in this issue to resolve

Problem with SQL*Loader and different date formats in the same file

I'm using SQL*Loader to import semi-colon separated values into a table. The files are delivered to us by a data provider who concatenates data from different sources and this results in us having different date formats within the same file. For example:
...;2010-12-31;22/11/1932;...
I load this data using the following lines in the control file:
EXECUTIONDATE1 TIMESTAMP NULLIF EXECUTIONDATE1=BLANKS "TO_DATE(:EXECUTIONDATE1, 'YYYY-MM-DD')",
DELDOB TIMESTAMP NULLIF DELDOB=BLANKS "TO_DATE(:DELDOB, 'DD/MM/YYYY')",
The relevant NLS parameters:
NLS_LANGUAGE=FRENCH
NLS_DATE_FORMAT=DD/MM/RR
NLS_DATE_LANGUAGE=FRENCH
If I load this file as is the values loaded into the table are 31 dec 2010 and 22 nov *2032*, aven though the years are on 4 digits. If I change the NLS_DATE_FORMAT to DD/MM/YYYY then the second date value will be loaded correctly, but the first value will be loaded as 31 dec *2020* !!
How can I get both date values to load correctly?

SylvainThis is very strange, after running a few tests I realized that if the year is 19XX then it will get loaded as 2019, and if it is 20XX then it will be 2020. I'm guessing it may have something to do with certain env variables that aren't set up properly because I'm fairly sure my SQL*Loader control file is correct... I'll run more tests :-(

we had created a scenario file to jdbc. while sending file to Oracle DB, it shows error as "ORA-01861: literal does not match format string". we checked the literals and white spaces. still we have same problem. so i have doubt on DATE format. we are sending date from PI system as yyyyMMdd which is not supported by Oracle i think. So please provide the DATE format accepted by Oracle and how to pass from SAP PI mapping. it will be appreciable if provide Steps to do in mapping or UDF code sample.
Also in response status we get the error "ORA-00917: missing comma ". So plz let me know how to solve this issue.

inv_data is a date field in the database.I think it has to do with data format.Exactly.

I replace each space with an asterisk. You have 5 columns according to your spec (terminated by '<space>')
SQL Loader doesn't know that M.E. Deals is the supplier name.
It's trying to convert 7 as the date. -

I am using sql loader command line sqlldr to load 141306 records into my table. It ended with an error message --
SQL*Loader-605: Non-data dependent ORACLE error occurred -- load discontinued.
Checking for data load failures
Checking Log data for clinic_biotox table data load
90970 Rows successfully loaded.
78 Rows not loaded due to data errors.
And moreover (90970+78 = 91048) which is much less than 141306
Any ideas as to what might have happened ?
ThanksHave you checked the sqlldr log file (the name of which you should have supplied at the command line)? This sometimes provides additional information as to what occurred.
I would also say that the reason why your record counts do not tally up like they should would be because the error occurred before sqlldr was able to complete the load.
The last thing I can offer would be for you to check what your allowable error threshold is within your logfile. It could be that you exceeded the allowable number of bad records and as such caused the load to fail.

I am getting the following exception when i trying to insert data in to a table through a stored procedure.
oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAException: java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01801: date format is too long for internal buffer
when execute this stored procedure from ana anonymous block , it gets executed successfully, but i use a OracleCallableStatement to execute the procedure i am getting this error.
Please let me know how to resolve this error.
Is this error something to do with the Database Configuration ?

MeenalI don't know if this will help, but we were getting this error in several of the standard OA framework pages and after much pain and aggravation it was determined that visiting the Sourcing Home Page was changing the timezone. For most pages this just changed the timezone that dates were displayed in, but some had this ORA-01801 error and some others had an ORA-01830 error (date format picture ends before converting entire input string). Unfortunately, if you are not using Sourcing at your site, this probably won't help, but if you are, have a look at patch # 4519817.
Note that to get the same error, try the following query (I got this error in 9.2.0.5 and 10.1.0.3):
select to_date('10-Mar-2006', 'DD-Mon-YYYY________________________________________________HH24:MI:SS') from dual;
It appears that you can't have a date format that is longer than 68 characters. -

I know the error is with XYZ Column but where. Or am i doing something wrong?

I m facing an issue with Date format in the prompt. I have used date presentation variables in my column formula as shown below:
FILTER("SKU Order Details"."Fulfilled Quantity" USING Time."Calendar Date" <= DATE '@{todate}{2900-01-01}')
The report returns data when I don't select any date range for start & end date prompts on the page. But when I select the start & end date values in the prompt, I m getting the following error:

State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 46047] Datetime value 10/22/2009 12:00:00 AM from 10/22/2009 12:00:00 AM does not match the specified format. (HY000)
I included the following formulas for start & end date prompts:
Start Date prompt: case when 1=2 then License."Ips Creation Date" else cast ('1.1.1900' as date) end
End Date prompt: case when 1=2 then License."Ips Creation Date" else cast ('1.1.2900' as date) end
Can you please help me resolve the issue.

I tried putting the format that you mentioned, I m getting an error message.
My prompts have the following formula :
Start: case when 1=2 then License."Creation Date" else cast('1.1.1900' as DATE) end
End: case when 1=2 then Time."Calendar Date" else cast('1.1.2900' as DATE) end
My column formula has the following syntax:

i need some help with date formats. I am using JDeveloper 11g and am trying to write some SQL commands.
When i enter the following, everything is working correctly.
ResultSet query = st.executeQuery("select * from DB.TABLE where DATE > '01-01-2000'");
I need to make it work so that date can be used from a jtextarea.
String inputData =jTextArea1.getText();
ResultSet query = st.executeQuery("select * from DB.TABLE where DATE > " +inputData);
Query does not return anything.
Do i need to convert the value of inputData? What other problems could there be?

Situation:
Creating process using sql* loader to import data from csv files on a nightly basis via cron.
Problem description:
Some of the fields that are being imported are receiving errors do to foreign characters in the field. The field that I am describing is an address field (this is just one example) and it has \n or \r\n in the address fields to skip lines
I tied the folowing change, which works in a regular sql statement, to replace the characters
replace(replace(replace(STREET,chr(13),' '),chr(10),' '),chr(34),'''')i am receiving an error > No SQL string allowed as part of DESCRIPTION field specification
What can I do to remove the line breaks so all the data will be on one line or be accepted by sql loader?
Any help would be appreciated

Problem with date format when ask prompt web-intelligence
Bo XIR2 with 5 SP. Instaled on Windows 2003 with support Russian.
Inside BO every labels, buttons - use russian. But when invoke web-report and Prompt appear there is problem with date format.
Looks like korean format of date 'jj.nn.aaa H:mm:ss'. I see system settings of date in Win .. everything right

Regarding the soln y provided me earler with the thread "Problem with date format"...
What is happening is....I am able to change the 2400 to 0000 but when it is changed from 2400 on jan 1st to 0000 the hour is changing but not the date....the date still remains as jan 1st instead of jan 2nd....
Eg: Jan 1st 2400 -- changed to -- jan1st 0000
instead of jan 2nd 0000
Could you please help me in this issue...
