Sql / msql connection string

Hi
How can i do to connect to a sql or mysql database created in azure pack? the "View info" buttom show the connection string but, the server name is the listener name of my tenant cluster. Is there any option to connect like "publish profile?"
or something like that¨?

Hi,
We can find the server name, database name and user name from the connection string. We can connect to the database with the information provided by the connection string.
If you want to connect to the database by API, please refer to the link below,
SqlConnection.ConnectionString Property
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.data.sqlclient.sqlconnection.connectionstring(v=vs.110).aspx

  • Reports 9i R2 Need SQL database connect string

We have set up REports 9i R2 and can connect to Oracle Database but unabel to find correct connect string to connect to a MS SQL database ?

You'll need to the JDBC pluggable data source for this - there's no longer any to connect to foreign databases directly through the connect dialog.
Please take a look at this functionality and ensure that it meets your needs.
    Hope this helps,

  • Why is my application name not showing up in the SQL Server connection properties?

If I understand correctly I should be able to have the application name from application.cfc show up in my SQL Server connection string (i.e. in the program_name column of sp_who2) if I go in to the DSN advanced settings and check "Application Name" under Client Settings.
However having done that I still don't see anything in the program name columns of the sp_who2 result set. Any ideas?
    Thanks!

I drew my shape, then went to the GRADIENT panel and clicked in the default gradient box to apply the default white to black gradient.  Normally you can click on either color to change it using the ways I described in my original post but those are not available to me.  The only way I could add a color was to drag it from the SWATCHES panel into the gradient colors slider.
This means that I cannot make changes to colors directly in the gradient panel like before.  I have to make changes to the individual colors but clicking on the color in the gradient slider then going to the COLOR panel and adjusting the color there. Or by dragging in a whole new color from the COLOR or SWATCHES panels.  This is really killing my work flow.

  • How do I create a connection string to sql server?

    Hi All,
I am currently connecting to a SQL Server via ODBC DSN connection. I am wondering how do I create a connection string directly to a sql server without a DSN connection?
    Thank you in advance.

If you have SQL Server or client installed in your machine you can directly connect to SQL server using native connection. When you create new report you can see the option create new connection, here you can see SQL Server. Expand it and enter the connection details where you will be directly connected to SQL Server without ODBC connection.

You may possibly modified the oc4j-ra.xml file in the stand-alone directory instead of the file under the OC4J_BPEL directory in midtier.
Currently, we are seeing some issues with the sample in midtier. So you may like to wait for the GA release [ mid May] for trying out this sample.
Otherwise please send a mail to [email protected], you need any early drop of this sample.

  • SCOM 2012 - SQL Connection strings

    Hey SCOM gurus
    Wonder if you can help?
I need to change my SCOM 2012 Management Server 'SQL Connection strings' to use a load balancer dns name of 'sql-listener'. Can anyone suggest how this might be done? (basically we now have a SQL 2014 Cluster in the background).

  • SQL 2000 ODBC CONNECTION STRING FOR SQL 2008

i have vb 6 application. Database is SQL server 2000.
my connection string is (using odbc driver),
            .ConnectionString = "Driver={SQL Server};SERVER=" & mServer & ";DATABASE=mydb;UID=" & mLogin.Username & ";pwd=" & mLogin.Password & ";"
Now i have tried this application with SQL server express 2008 R2
Can i still keep the old connection string? will there be any problem in future?
(if i have to change then have to change at so many places.....)
I can run application without any problem for now (not changed connection string to new one)
otherwise i have to use ODBC or OLEDB which are,
            .ConnectionString = "Driver={SQL Server Native Client 10.0};SERVER=" & mServer & ";DATABASE=mydb;UID=" & mLogin.Username & ";pwd=" & mLogin.Password & ";"
    or
            .ConnectionString = "Provider=SQLNCLI10;SERVER=" & mServer & ";DATABASE=mydb;UID=" & mLogin.Username & ";pwd=" & mLogin.Password & ";"
if i have to change to new connection string Which one is better to use odbc or oledb.

personally I favor ODBC as it is easy to use sometime. Additionally you can check the link below:

  • Connection string equivalent to SQL*PLUS nolog

    Hello there.
    I have a bit of a problem
I want to run some sql statements on the oracle itself (no specified database to connect to)
I'm now using the "SQL*PLUS /NOLOG" option, which does this great, but since I want the whole process to be automatic (programatically), I want to know how to run these commands without SQL*PLUS (using a connection string)
I tried many variations for the connection string, but since I always got the error: "listener was not given the SERVICE_NAME in CONNECT_DATA" (again - I want to statements to be processed by the oracle server itself, without connecting to a database)
    How can I do this?
    Thanks in advance
    Tsuria

I need a connection string to connect first.
so what is the connection string I need to provide in order to do so?There isn't a "default" connection string, it depends on the database(s) you have to connect to. If you are working locally, that is, on the same machine where your DB is running, you can set ORACLE_SID environment variable, without using connection strings.
Otherwise you have to create one, you can use Net Configuration Assistant for that.
BTW, you didn't answer all my questions....

Let's assume you have two DBMS instances running on the machine hansa. One
of them may be listening for tcp connections on port 1433, but the other must not.
The other most be listening on some other port number you have chosen.
Therefore, to choose which DBMS instance you want to connect to, use the
working URL you have, and switch the port number as desired.

  • Find Connection String used by SQL Server Management Studio

I am having problems getting my VS C# .NET application to connect to a SQL Server Database, even though I can connect to it (on the same machine) using SQL Server Management Studio.
Is there any way I can find the connection string that SQL Server Management Studio generates when it connects?

    Hi,
As you have Visual Studio on your machine, I think we can also use the Visual Database Tools of Visual Studio to generate the connection string.
    Please:
    1. Create a new data connection to the SQL Server database in the
    Server Explorer of Visual Studio
    2. After the connection is established, right-click on the connection name and select
Properties. There is an item called Connection String in the
    Properties window.

  • Need PL/SQL Code to get Oracle connection string

    Hi
Could you please give any solution to below requirement?
    Requirement :
I have an existing pl/sql program (Registered as concurrent Program) in which i am calling a "C" Program. The "C" program expects a parameter to pass the value of oracle connection string (userid/pwd@instance). The C Program takes the connection string to connect to oracle and manipulate data.
Question. How will I get Oracle userid, pwd and connection string being in PL/SQL Session so that it will run for every instance i move the code in.
    Note :
1.) We have limitations to call another concurrent program to fetch these data.
2.) We cannot hard code the value in the program because of compliance issue.
Any example of code will help.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Cheers
    Samar

  • Connection Strings for SQL Server 2012

I have installed SQL Server 2012 on my machine.
I did not install a user_id or password.
I have a working website with "Remote Access" Role installed.
I have tried many different connection strings from
    http://www.connectionstrings.com/sql-server-2012/:
    This stood out:
    Server=(localdb)\v11.0;Integrated Security=True;AttachDbFileName=C:\inetpub\wwwroot\App_Data\db.mdf;Trusted_Connection=True;
    Error Code:
System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException (0x80131904): A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections.

I would recommend asking them in SQL forums: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-us/home?forum=sqlgetstarted&filter=alltypes&sort=lastpostdesc
