How can i use this query to load the data into destination table in BODS.

Hi Samuel,
Use SQL transform, if your query statement having single SELECT statement.

  • Problem with SQL query region source containing OLAP clauses

    Hi team,
    I believe I found a bug when HTMLDB validates the SQL Query in a report region.
    My query includes an ORDER BY clause within a windowing function and HTMLDB refuses to accept the source owing to the presence of the ORDER BY and the column heading sort preference.
    Clearly the order-by in a window function has little to do with the column heading sort, but this error prevents me from updating the conditional display item in the page definition.
    Note also that the page was imported smoothly from the 1.5 version, so probably the region source is not checked at that time, but only when you update it "manually".
    So, in the end, if I don't change anything the page works because the sql query is assumed to be correct but unfortunately I need to change the condition and I cannot.
    The problem shows up in page 126 of app 21670, SQL query region.
    Bye,
    Flavio
    PS: may be I can work around this by using the pl/sql function returning the sql query.

    Flavio,
    We're aware of this problem. For now, your workaround is described in this thread:
    HTMLDB 1.6 and "order by" in analytic functions

  • Limitation of SQL-Query data source !?

    Hello,
    I faced a situation that required the use of "case ... when ... then ...end" in my select-statement defining the data source. But I doesn't seem to work! I checked the statement in sql developer and it worked fine!
    Is there any idea about that?
    Thanks in advance.
    Dirk

    Hi Tim,
    thank you for your response - I created a sample query of what I used and it looks like this one:
    select col1
    ,col2
    , case col2 when '12' then (select a2.col2 from a2 where a2.col1 = a1.col1 )
    when '13' then (select a3.col2 from a3 where a3.col1 = a1.col1 )
         end
    from a1

  • Export SQL query from link or button

    I want to list several 'canned' SQL queries on one page as buttons or links; and have the result of selection be an immediate extract/download to excel of the data.
    How can I best do this?
    I suppose I could create separate hidden regions with their own reports that could somehow be referenced in the link. I would like to avoid doing all that, if I can create a package or process that includes the SQL query and that can be called in the link.
    Thanks in advance,
    Rich
    Edit:
    Found 'Report Query' functionality in Apex v3.2.1: However I am unable to get this to work; tells me my printer is not set up. I don't want to print the detail, I want it to be downloaded into excel... I don't have a printer configured - & don't want to. The URL provided for download as attachment is:
    f?p=&APP_ID.:0:&SESSION.:PRINT_REPORT=reportname
    I also have no page 0.
    Help?

  • Having troubles passing values of Shuttle control to SQL Query of Report and Chart Region

    Hello,
    I am very new to APEX and need help for one of the Pa.I have a shuttle control on my page which populates Categories. Once user selects Categories from this control, I wish to pass the values to following SQL query :
    select * from emp_class where category IN ( LIST of VALUES FROM RIGHT SIDE SHUTTLE).
    I tried various ways of doing this including writing a java scripts which reads shuttle value, converts it into below string
    'Category1',Category2',Category3'. Then I set this value to a text box. And then I was expecting that below trcik would work
    select * from emp_class where category IN (:TXT_VALUES)
    I am sure this is not right way and hence its not working. Can you please guide me here with options?
    Many Thanks,

    Don't understand what this means. What is "Pa"?
    select * from emp_class where category IN (:TXT_VALUES)
    I am sure this is not right way and hence its not working. Can you please guide me here with options?
    This is a common fallacy. In
    select * from table where columnvalue in (7788, 7839, 7876)
    (7788, 7839, 7876) is an expression list and the predicate is evaluated as a membership condition.
    In
    select * from table where columnvalue in :P1_X
    :P1_X is a scalar string, incapable of containing multiple values.
    In an APEX standard report, a PL/SQL function body returning an SQL query report source with lexical substitution can be used to produce a "varying IN-list":
    return 'select * from table where columnvalue in (' || :P1_X || ')';
    where P1_X contains fewer than 1000 values, has been sanitized for SQL injection, and string values are properly quoted.
    Some people suggest the following approach, which will also work in APEX interactive reports:
    select * from table where instr(':' || :P1_X || ':', ':' || columnvalue || ':') > 0
    However this is non-performant as it eliminates the possibility of the optimizer using indexes or partition pruning in the execution plan.
    See varying elements in IN list on Ask Tom, and emulating string-to-table functionality using sql for efficient solutions.

    I am looking for a sql query which saves/ export results of an query to a excel file
    Thanks,
    Chetan
    Options:
    1) You can use
    BCP command to export result to excel
    2) Insert into excel by using OPENROWSET
    3) Use Import and Export Wizard and provide SQL query as source and Excel as destination

  • Region source (PL/SQL function body returning SQL query)

    Hi, guys.
    Here is what i try to do:
    Create a region of type SQL Query (PL/SQL function body returning SQL query). In the source area i tried to put this:
    DECLARE
    v_new VARCHAR2(10);
    v_SQL varchar2(32000);
    BEGIN
    v_new := :P102_HDN_NEW;
    -- htp.p(v_new);
    IF v_new = 'N-Set' THEN
    v_SQL := 'select ' ||
    ELSIF v_new = 'Y-Set' THEN
    v_SQL := 'select ' ||
    END IF;
    RETURN v_SQL;
    END;
    And here is the reply from APEX:
    1 error has occurred
    Query cannot be parsed within the Builder. If you believe your query is syntactically correct, check the ''generic columns'' checkbox below the region source to proceed without parsing. The query can not be parsed, the cursor is not yet open or a function returning a SQL query returned without a value.
    Now.
    1. Variable is set with the right value.
    2. Each statement (separately) returns SQL that works with no problems
    3. Problem occures if i try to put IF statement around the SQL creation.
    4. If i select "Use Generic Column Names (parse query at runtime only)" instead of "Use Query-Specific Column Names and Validate Query" then the script returns SQL properly, however report's column names are set to Col1, Col2,Col3 ......

  • SQL Query as Item Source/Oracle Reports w/ HTML DB?

    I have successfully used a SQL Query as an item source in the past on several occasions. However, in this instance, every time I try to do this, I get the following error:
    Error ERR-1019 Error computing item default value: page=3 name=P3_TEST_ITEM.
    ORA-01460: unimplemented or unreasonable conversion requested ORA-02063: preceding line from [database_name]
    If I use the exact same query in creating a report region, the page displays fine and the query returns the correct data. Why might this be happening, and what can I do to fix it?
    Also - off the subject - is there a way to use HTML DB to deploy reports that are created in Oracle Reports Builder? I have created several employee productivity reports for supervisors and managers in HTML DB, which is great for allowing them to run them live and have fields as parameters for varying employees, date ranges, etc... but formatting them to be browser and printer friendly is an absolute nightmare so far. If I could create and format the reports in Reports Builder and then deploy them using HTML DB, while still being able to offer parameters to the user, that would be perfect. Is this possible?

    Here is my query:
    SELECT
    TO_CHAR((sum(decode(ef.production_function,'Y',ef.function_minutes+ef.function_ot_minutes))/60)/8, '9999999.99')
    FROM
    RLAPPLSG.EMPLOYEE_INFO@REMOTE_SERVER EI,
    RLAPPLSG.SC_EMP_FUNCTIONS@REMOTE_SERVER EF,
    RLAPPLSG.SC_EMP@REMOTE_SERVER E
    WHERE
    ( e.SC_EMP_NBR=ef.SC_EMP_NBR )
    AND ( ei.EMP_ID=e.EMP_ID )
    AND (
    ( trunc(( e.SC_DATE )) BETWEEN :P2_BEGIN_DATE AND :P2_END_DATE )
    AND (ei.EMP_MGRS_ID = :P2_SUPERVISOR_ID
    OR ei.EMP_ID = :P2_SUPERVISOR_ID)
    Every table and/or view that is referenced here is done so remotely. The column datatype breakdown is as follows:
    production_function - BOOLEAN
    function_minutes - NUMBER
    function_ot_minutes - NUMBER

  • OLEDB Source sql query with parameter

    I have a dataflow  in a for each loop container.The OLEDB Source is pointing to oracle database.The sql query to fetch the data should take a variable value.
    Example : select * from tablename where colname = @variablevalue
    the variable value changes each time since the dataflow is in a for each loop container.
    can anyone please help me configuring the source??
    when i try to use ? i get the following error message
    Thanks,
    Rahul

    I can't troubleshoot that error as i don't have a Oracle source to test. See this -
    http://microsoftdw.blogspot.com/2005/11/parameterized-queries-against-oracle.html
    Try -
    1. Create a int variable vBatchIndex (this would be your parameter which you are trying to pass) and provide the value
    2. Create another string variable vSQLQuery > Go to Variable properties > Set the "EvaluateAsExpression" property to "True"
    3. Under the variable properties > Go to Expression > and provide this expression as
    "SELECT * FROM fc_batch_report WHERE batch_index= " + (DT_WSTR, 10) @[User::vBatchIndex]
    4.Next ,go to OLE DB Source > Select the Data access mode - SQL command from variable
    5.Select the variable name - vSQLQuery

    Can you just setup an Excel/Essbase retrieval to get the data you need? You can't use SQL to query Essbase; here is a blog post that talks about it:
    http://timtows-hyperion-blog.blogspot.com/2008/01/why-you-cant-use-sql-to-query-essbase.html
    Since I made that post, I have found out that Essbase has now been integrated into the latest version of the Oracle BI Server and, technically, you could use SQL to query the data in Essbase via the Oracle BI Server if you have the right version.

  • Issue with SQL Query with Presentation Variable as Data Source in BI Publisher

    Hello All
    I have an issue with creating BIP report based on OBIEE reports which is done using direct SQL. There is this one report in OBIEE dashboard, which is written using direct SQL. To create the pixel perfect version of this report, I am creating BIP data model using SQL Query as data source. The physical query that is used to create OBIEE report has several presentation variables in its where clause.
    select TILE4,max(APPTS), 'Top Count' from
    SELECT c5 as division,nvl(DECODE (C2,0,0,(c1/c2)*100),0) AS APPTS,NTILE (4) OVER ( ORDER BY nvl(DECODE (C2,0,0,(c1/c2)*100),0))  AS TILE4,
    c4 as dept,c6 as month FROM
    select sum(case  when T6736.TYPE = 'ATM' then T7608.COUNT end ) as c1,
         sum(case  when T6736.TYPE in ('Call Center', 'LSM') then T7608.CONFIRMED_COUNT end ) as c2,
         T802.NAME_LEVEL_6 as c3,
         T802.NAME_LEVEL_1 as c4,
         T6172.CALENDARMONTHNAMEANDYEAR as c5,
         T6172.CALENDARMONTHNUMBERINYEAR as c6,
         T802.DEPT_CODE as c7
    from
         DW_date_DIM T6736 /* z_dim_date */ ,
         DW_MONTH_DIM T6172 /* z_dim_month */ ,
         DW_GEOS_DIM T802 /* z_dim_dept_geo_hierarchy */ ,
         DW_Count_MONTH_AGG T7608 /* z_fact_Count_month_agg */
    where  ( T802.DEpt_CODE = T7608.DEPT_CODE and T802.NAME_LEVEL_1 =  '@{PV_D}{RSD}'
    and T802.CALENDARMONTHNAMEANDYEAR = 'July 2013'
    and T6172.MONTH_KEY = T7608.MONTH_KEY and T6736.DATE_KEY = T7608.DATE_KEY
    and (T6172.CALENDARMONTHNUMBERINYEAR between substr('@{Month_Start}',0,6)  and substr('@{Month_END}',8,13))
    and (T6736.TYPE in ('Call Center', 'LSM')) )
    group by T802.DEPT_CODE, T802.NAME_LEVEL_6, T802.NAME_LEVEL_1, T6172.CALENDARMONTHNAMEANDYEAR, T6172.CALENDARMONTHNUMBERINYEAR
    order by c4, c3, c6, c7, c5

    When I try to view data after creating the data set, I get the following error:
    Failed to load XML
    XML Parsing Error: mismatched tag. Expected: . Location: http://172.20.17.142:9704/xmlpserver/servlet/xdo Line Number 2, Column 580:
    Now when I remove those Presention variables (@{PV1}, @{PV2}) in the query with some hard coded values, it is working fine.
    So I know it is the PV that's causing this error.
    How can I work around it?
    There is no way to create equivalent report without using the direct sql..
    Thanks in advance

    I have found a solution to this problem after some more investigation. PowerQuery does not support to use SQL statement as source for Teradata (possibly same for other sources as well). This is "by design" according to Microsoft. Hence the problem
    is not because different PowerQuery versions as mentioned above. When designing the query in PowerQuery in Excel make sure to use the interface/navigation to create the query/select tables and NOT a SQL statement. The SQL statement as source works fine on
    a client machine but not when scheduling it in Power BI in the cloud. I would like to see that the functionality within PowerQuery and Excel should be the same as in Power BI in the cloud. And at least when there is a difference it would be nice with documentation
    or more descriptive errors.

  • How to pass a variable for a SQL query in OLEDB source?

    Hi All,
    I am new to SSIS and working on it past few days. Can anyone please help me getting through a scenario where I need to pass a variable in the SQL statement in OLEDB source connection. Please find below for the details.
    eg:
    1) I have a SQL table with the columns SerialNumber, Name, IsValid, FileName with multiple rows.
    2) I have the file Name in a variable called Variable1.
    3) I want to read the data from my SQL table filtering based on the FileName (Variable1) within a data flow task and pull that data to the destination table.
    Question: In the data flow task, added source and destination DB connection with a script component in between to perform my validations. When trying to retrieve the data from source using the variable (i.e. SQL Query with variable), I am not able to add
    the query as the SQL statement box is disabled. How to filter the data based on the variable in the source DB ?
    Any help/suggestions would be of great help.
    Thanks,
    Sri

    Just to add with Vaibhav comment .
    SQL Command  : SQL query either with SQL variable or any condition  or simple Sql statement
    Like ;
    Select * from dimcustomer
    SQL Command using Varible :
    Sometimes we design our dynamic query in variable and directly use that variable name in oledb source.
    If you Sql query needs a condition based on SSIS variable .
    you can find a Example here :
    http://www.toadworld.com/platforms/sql-server/b/weblog/archive/2013/01/17/ssis-replace-dynamic-sql-with-variables.aspx
    http://www.select-sql.com/mssql/how-to-use-a-variable-inside-sql-in-ssis-data-flow-tasks.html

  • Sql query in report/source

    Is possible use this kind of select select a,(select b from b) from b
    in sql query in report/source?

    Pretty much any valid select statement can be used.
    If it works in SQL*Plus, then it should work in Application Express.
    I think your example would not be valid if table b has more than one row.
    A scalar subquery (like your "select b from b") must only return a single value.
    SQL>  select ename, (select job from emp) from emp e;
    ORA-01427: single-row subquery returns more than one rowIf your subquery can be restricted to return one value, then it should work.
    SQL>  select ename, (select job from emp where empno = e.empno) job from emp e;

    KING       PRESIDENT
    BLAKE      MANAGER

  • Item source: SQL Query

    Any hints why does a text item does not execute SQL Query used as a source while the computation does the thing?
    Both are used in Page Rendering phase. I'd like to avoid row fetch process as well. I just want a single query to populate item value without using process/computation.

    Probably. The real deal here is that computation is executed before the dml row fetch despite the fact that the fetch row process is in the "After header" while computation set to "Before regions" phase.
    Anyway, maybe let me tell you what I am trying to achieve and not what doesn't work for me. On a page I have a P1_IDX item which is set through URL, this is the primary key of table X. Then, I have a bunch of fields from table Y which are all of "DB column" source. First I deduce P1_IDY from a select on X. Then I would like to populate the form items with values from table Y based on the prior computation. Hopefully I'm clear enough.

  • Get SQL Query from the Region Source

    Hi,
    The below query gives me the region source code,
    SELECT region_source into p_sql_stmt
    FROM apex_application_page_regions
    WHERE region_id = 01129836282 AND
    page_id = 54 AND
    application_id = 215;
    Initially I use to have only the SQL region source code as mentioned below , So using the above query i use to pass the sql code to p_sql_stmt
    SELECT PROJECT_ID,EMPLOYEE_ID,EFFECTIVE_DATE FROM AR_V_ADDRESS_HISTORY WHERE PROJECT_ID = :P51_PROJECT_ID
    Now the changes what i did in the page region source is i am using a PLSQL return query which is mentioned below
    declare
    qry varchar2(32000);
    begin
    qry := ' SELECT PROJECT_ID,EMPLOYEE_ID,EFFECTIVE_DATE';
    for c1 in ( SELECT * FROM AR_ADDRESS_TYPE)
    loop
    qry := qry ||
    ' , GET_ADDRESS_LINE_1(PROJECT_ID,EMPLOYEE_ID,' || c1.address_type_id || ' ,TO_DATE(EFFECTIVE_DATE)) "' || c1.name ||'_ADDRESS_TYPE_1"';
    qry := qry ||
    ' , GET_ADDRESS_LINE_1(PROJECT_ID,EMPLOYEE_ID,' || c1.address_type_id || ' ,TO_DATE(EFFECTIVE_DATE)) "' || c1.name ||'_ADDRESS_TYPE_2"';
    end loop;
    qry := qry || ' FROM AR_V_ADDRESS_HISTORY
    WHERE
    PROJECT_ID = :P51_PROJECT_ID ';
    return(qry);
    end;
    If i execute the above code in the with dbms_output.put_line in the SQL developer or TOAD it prints the sql query which i wanted, Since i am using this in a apex page i need to get the SQL code from the apex page.
    Can any one please suggest me how to get this sql code using the above plsql code.
    Please suggest me in this issue
    Thanks
    Sudhir

    One way to get the sql statement is
    Create a global variable in the package spec where your function returns sql statement and assign the final sql statement to the package spec variable before the return.
    Write a wrapper function to return the stored sql statement value.
    Example code below:
    create or replace package xx_test_pkg as
    g_sql_stmt CLOB;
    function get_sql() return clob;
    function get_stored_val() return clob;
    end;
    create or replace body package xx_test_pkg as
    function get_sql return clob ..
    v_sqlstmt clob;
    begin
    v_sqlstmt := 'select * from emp';
    -- assign to global variable before returning the value
    g_sql_stmt := v_sqlstmt;
    return v_sqlstmt;
    end;
    function get_stored_val() ....
    begin
    return g_sql_stmnt;
    end;
    end;
