SRW2048 serial console is read-only

I have connected my SRW2048 to a serial port and I can see  the boot process of the router but I cannot write anything, I see the  login prompt but cannot login.
- I use the original cable which was shipped with the switch
- I have uses 3 differenet PCs
- I can use telnet and ssh, but I need the serial also.

It sounds like your getting to the switch just fine.  The issue seems to be you don't have the password to get into it.
If that is the case, you can reset the password and login to the switch using the following steps.
The password will be admin and the username is admin.
Q. How do I recover the password  of my switch?
A.If you do not know or have  forgotten your password to get into the switch's configuration  interface, you may try running the Password Recovery.  This is a solution which allows the user login to the switch using its  default username ("admin").
Performing Password Recovery  (Accton Switches - SRW224P, SRW2024P)
Step 1:
Connect  to the console port using terminal emulation parameters (typically 38400,  8, 0, 1, None).
Step  2:
Reboot switch by unplugging the power.
Step  3:
Hold down Ctrl U while rebooting  to display Menu.
Step 4:
Select [D]  Delete file.
Step 5:
Type  "startup-config" (be sure that this is the ONLY file that you delete -  if you delete other files, you will have to reload the firmware)
Step  6:
Now, you have erased the configuration file and  you should be able to reboot and login with the default username and  password.
Performing Password Recovery  (Marvell Switches - SRW2016, SRW2024, SRW2048, SRW224G4, SRW248G4)
Step 1:
Connect  to the console port using terminal emulation parameters (typically 38400,  8, 0, 1, None).
Step  2:
Reboot the switch by unplugging the power.
Step  3:
After viewing PASS on the  screen, Press ESC on your keyboard to display the BOOTmenu.
Step  4:
Select [3] Password Recovery Procedure.
Step  5:
You can now login to the switches with the  default username and password.
Note: Be sure to  change the password to something you can easily remember. After  rebooting, the default password will not be accessible unless you add it  back to the list of passwords. The passwords will be restored to the  passwords configured on the switch.

  • Console Access - Read Only Permissions

How would I go about granting read-only access to a particular set of driver packages and read-write access to others? I understand the concept of security roles and scopes, but I'm not seeing a way to adjust read-only/read-write based on
    scope.
    Appreciate the help!

The first thing that pops-up in my mind, is two security roles and two security scopes.
Scope 1 is scoped to a few driver packages and role 1 only provides read-access to driver packages. Attach these two to the administrative user/group that should have read-only access.
Scope 2 is scoped to the other driver packages and role 2 provides read-write access to driver packages. Attach these two to the administrative user/group that should have read-write access.

  • Read only user creation for Oracle EM Console 11.1.1.5

    Dear All.
I have created Read only user for Oracle EM Console.
I have followed below link to do the same
    http://moshe-soa.blogspot.com/2011/09/blog-post.html.
I have noticed with read only user is that TEST button in EM Console is active means user with read only user can create a trans, in Prod scenario it is a risk.
Raised a CR with Oracle and found that it is a bug
Bug 14082464 - CANNOT DISABLE TEST/TEST WEB SERVICE BUTTON IN SOA EM COSOLE is there in Metalink.
So my question is there any way by which i can disable the TEST button in EM Conasole.
I think there are some WLST script or servlet java class available to resolve this issue.
Can any one confirm this and please suggest if any one aware of any alternative method.
    Thanks,

Hi, have you got any solution to this problem? I am having exact the same issue in 11.1.1.6.

  • Read only access for bpel console in SOA Suite 10.1.3.5.1(weblogic)

    Hi
For SOA Suite 10.1.3.5.1 on weblogic, Is there any way to restrict certain users to some pages in bpel console.. e.g. read only access to bpel console.
I have found articles on web regarding this but they all are for SOA Suite 10.1.3.3 (and 3.4) on Oracle app server. Article provides a hack by using servlet filters.
How to do a similar thing in SOA Suite 10.1.3.5.1 on weblogic ?
Can somebody provide step by step instructions?
    Thanks

    Hi James,
I have already seen this link and several refined versions of it but it wont work for weblogic. For example
There is no j2ee/oc4j_soa/applications/orabpel/console directory (i looked into home directory as well but could not found orabpel/console dir).
So question is where to put filter class and how to make changes in web.xml as this file is not present in j2ee/oc4j_soa/applications/orabpel/console/WEB-INF/
I checked deployments in weblogic admin console and seems BPELConsole is deployed as a module under BPELPM ear.
    Any idea?
    Thanks.

And does anyone know whether the console can be 'zoned'? e.g. only allowaccess
to the security part of the tree.
    Thanks, WLS people,

  • Read only access to Console Application ...

We have deployed development best practice examples in one WLS instance. So, all
developer can run our sample examples. All developer doesn't have admin privileges.
Some times, developer would like to get "READ ONLY " access to console application.
They can see JDBC / JMS / connection pool information.
Is it possible to allow READ ONLY Access to CONSOLE application ?
    TIA
    Wlstech

I don't think this is possible in the current release.

This concept has been introduced in 7.0 and you'll find that a read-only

Add the user to the Monitors group, so they have the Monitor role. This will
give them read-only access to the console.

  • Read only access to Admin Console in WL 6.1

    Hi,
I've seen a couple of questions already posted about this... but so far no answers!
Does anyone know how to grant read only access to the WL 6.1 Admin Console? The
supplied user "guest" doesn't seem to have any access, so I was wondering what
needs to be edited to enable this.... I've tried adding ACL's with "read" permission,
but that doesn't seem ot help.
Any thoughts would be most appreciated.

Is there a possibility to create a user with read only role on EM in 11g? We want to create a user to monitor production environment with out having options for deploy/undeploy.

By assigning an appropriate role to a user, you can limit his access -
