SSAS SQL Profiler Trace Results - Error metadata unknown

I am using a control that generates MDX queries and am tracing these through SQL Server Profiler. On one of the MDX queries, the Query End event is showing a 49 in the Error column. Does
anyone know where to find what the codes in the Error column translate to for MDX trace events?

The textdata has the mdx query that is getting an error but no error detail so this doesn't help.  We were hoping there was a dictionary of all the SSAS error codes for queries so that we could understand what error code 49 means.

Hi Chad,
SQL Profiler will not capture the detail error message under the "Error" column. I would recommend you submit a wish to the Microsoft Connect at
https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/Feedback. Your feedback is valuable for us to improve our products and increase the level of service provided.

Run proftab.sql first. look st the test case. Hopefully you have installed dbms_profiler package. The first anonymous block is to test that, second block is your block which is failing.

  • SQL Profiler running trace - where do the rows go if not saved to file

When SQL Profiler trace is running, there are thousands of rows generated and shown in the trace window. Since I am only looking for deadlocks, I am not saving them. Are they just discarded, else where do all those rows go? I really don't want to fill
    up the log file.

From your description, it seems you are running Profiler while saving events to a file.  All of the displayed events are also written to the file.  If you don't need events other than deadlocks, you should not include those in the trace to begin
    with.
Be aware that a Profiler trace can significantly degrade server performance when many events are captured.  If you must capture a large number of events (or run a trace continuously), I suggest a server-side trace (or Extended Events file target)
instead.  This will allow SQL Server to stream data directly to the trace file without the Profiler tool overhead.  You can script the Profiler trace for server-side tracing from the Profiler File-->Export menu.  Save and customize the
script (file name, max file size, etc.).  You can view the trace file(s) using Profiler or fn_trace_gettable.

  • I am trying to create a new profile, but I cannot open profile manager in Mac OS 10.5.8. I get the following error: "dyld: unknown required load command 0x80000022 Trace/BPT trap".

    Hello,
I am trying to repair my Firefox profile, but I cannot open profile manager in Mac OS 10.5.8. When I follow the directions for opening profile manager in my Terminal utility, I get the following error: "dyld: unknown required load command 0x80000022 Trace/BPT trap".
At this point, Firefox (v 5.0 or previous versions), is not running.
    Thanks.

[http://asqueella.blogspot.com/2010/12/dyld-unknown-required-load-command.html Here's an Explanation]. Basically you need to add "arch -i386 " at the beginning of the command because 10.5 is 32-bit only and more recent versions of Firefox default to 64-bit.

  • Trace for a specific IP address in SQL Profiler

    Hello,
I am looking for a way to trace from a specific ip address in sql profiler, Is there any filter that we can use to trace the database calls from a specific ip address.
    Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply,  I have tried by selecting hostname from column filters and gave my system name in Like.
When i run application from localhost then it returns trace results, but on live domain it is not returning trace results, M i missing something in configuring filters?

  • Using Get Data From Aggregation event class in SQL Profiler - SSAS 2012

    Hi,
I'd like to understand better the use of the Get data from aggregation event class in SQL Profiler to monitor a MDX query and which info provide. Fe, does it return the MDX query? Is it possible to use this event class in order to monitor MDX query vs a
    Tabular model?
In the TechNet documentation, this event class is handled briefly.
    Thanks

    Hi pscorca,
This event is raised when the storage engine reads data from an aggregation, it may have a negative impact on performance when turned on. If you need to monitor SSAS instance status, we can also use dynamic management view:

    1) Run_total_time is the elapsed total time in nanoseconds.
A nanosecond is one billionth of a second.
It is displayed in scientific notation
where E stands for "times ten to the power of".
       So, 3.5190E+11 nanoseconds
         = 3.5190 * 100000000000 nanoseconds
         = 351900000000 nanoseconds
         = 351900000000 billionths of a second
         = 351900000000 / 1000000000 seconds
         = 351.9 seconds
If you want to display it in seconds, use:
         SELECT runid,
                run_comment,
                run_total_time / 1000000000 AS seconds
         FROM   plsql_profiler_runs;
    2) The only thing that looks wrong about your do_mod procedure
       is the last line:
         end;/
The / should be on the next line.
Other than that, I don't see any possible cause for
       the error.

  • Events to be selected in SQL profiler

    Hi Experts,
User was running a job from Application end which runs under SQL Agnet service account. The job was keeps stallingwithout any error. I could the related processes are 'Sleeping' by using sysprocesses cmd. User requesting to run profiler to check
what's going on? So I would like to know what are the event needs to be selected to capture the relevant info, Thanks for help  Version: SQL 2008 R2 (Enterprise), Windows 2008 R2

Use the code below to get the spid and then you can filter it in the SQL Profiler.
    http://www.sqlservercentral.com/scripts/Connections/86792/
    For selecting events:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff650699.aspx
To identify a long-running query interactively
    Start SQL Profiler.
On the File menu, click New, and then click Trace.
Specify the relevant connection details to connect to the computer running SQL Server.
The Trace Properties dialog box appears.
In the Template name list, click SQLProfilerTSQL_Duration.
    Click the Events tab.
Notice that two key events are selected:
RPC:Completed from the Stored Procedures event class
SQL:BatchCompleted from the T-SQL event class
Click Run to run the trace.
    Start SQL Query Analyzer.
Run the queries you want to analyze. For example, using the Pubs database, you might run the following query.
    select au_id, au_lname + ' ' + au_fname, phone from authors where au_lname like 'G%' order by au_lname
    select * from authors
    Select au_id from authors
View the trace output in SQL Profiler. Note that durations are given in milliseconds.
    Figure 1 shows sample output.
Figure 1: Sample SQL Profiler output using the SQLProfilerTSQL_Duration template
    Stop the trace.
Note   Your duration times may vary from those shown, and may even appear as zero if the database server has a small load.

  • Report error: ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: NULL index table k

    Hi everybody,
I have two Distinct Databases on two distinct servers. (Oracle Ent. Release 10.2.0.3.0 on AIX 5.3). After I install the latest patch last week, One of the APEX installation has some problems on Home>Application Builder Page. The error message is very random and
    report error:
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: NULL index table key value.
When i change the view (details to icons), everything goes to normal. This error message is reflected some of the pages (report region) of some of my applications randomly. When it appears in a report region, i deselect the order method of the region, the result is normal.
But the other APEX application on the other instance has no problem. It is a bug? or Should i re-install the APEX instance?
    Thank you for your interest?

No, but we have a reproducible test case now so we're working on it. See ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: NULL index table key value

    hi,
    EXP-00091: Exporting questionable statistics The client character set(NLS_LANG) does not match the server character;
    select parameter,value from nls_database_parameters where parameter like '%CHARACTERSET%';
and check the client system character set
