SSL Listen port in weblogic

HI
what is SSL Listen port in weblogic and what is the main use of that port
please give me clear picture on it

WebLogic Server supports SSL on a dedicated listen port which defaults to 7002. To establish an SSL connection, a Web browser connects to WebLogic Server by supplying the SSL listen port and the HTTPs schema in the connection URL, for example, https://myserver:7002.
For details refer:

  • JDeveloper fails to connect after enabling SSL Listen Port

    Hi,
    When I activate SSL on port 8002 (SSL Listen Port Enabled) for my soa_server in weblogic console, JDeveloper fails to connect to the server when deploying.
    Soa server lookup takes a long time an ends in an error failed to connect to <server>:8002
    When I turn off SSL JDev can find the SOA server again.
    I use JDeveloper 11.1.1.4 and SOA Suite 11.1.1.4
    What can I do about this?
    Groeten,
    HJH

    Here's the top 3 causes for this:
    (1) make sure the database listener is running on the server with the database.
    (2) make sure the connection information that JDeveloper is using is correct.
    (3) remember that JDeveloper uses the SID and not the service name.

  • Changing IIOP SSL Listener Port from 1060

    I am using SUN AS8 (j2eesdk-1_4_01-windows.exe). I have another non-AS8 related program that wants the same port (1060) that the AS8 ORB's IIOP SSL listener wants. If the other program gets that port before SUN AS-8, then SUN-AS8 won't start. It looks simple to change the IIOP SSL listener port to another port using the web console. I'm not directly using the IIOP SSL connection for my applications, but I was wondering if there are any internal AS8 uses of the 1060 port that will have problems if I change it to another unused port ? Thanks.

    No, there will not be any problem. In fact, instead of changing the port, you can disable the IIOP listener on port 1060. (Uncheck the Enabled box)

  • SSL on port 443

    BM 3.8 sp5, Open Enterprise 6.5 SP6 - SSL - listening port 443 - Craig
    advised to change to port 444 because it conflicts with Apache on the
    server. Do my users need to type :444 when they authenticate or is this
    change will be transparent to them? Also, one of our NetAdmins indicates
    we are not running Apache...
    Please provide me with more info. on this issue.
    Thank you in advance for your help

    I assume you're referring to proxy authentication, where the user enters
    credentials in the browser to gain access to the proxy. In this case the
    BM server automatically redirects users to the port 444 URL... they
    don't type it in. Thus, the port the proxy listens on for SSL
    *authentication* requests doesn't matter much, as long as it doesn't
    conflict with other services running on the server.

    Debuger,
    It does not matter which WLS version I am using (although I'm using 10.3, the one that comes with JDev 11g).
    The problem is that SOME OTHER PROCESS on your machine is listening on port 80. Guess you need to go to the Microsoft forums to find out how you can tell what that OTHER, NOT WLS process is.

  • Multiple listen ports for one weblogic instance

    Can anybody confirm that you can have only one listen port defined for a single
    weblogic instance (i.e. one instance cannot be listening to multiple ports at
    the same time)?
    Thanks

    you can have multiple ip's assigned to the same box
    and bind each WLS instance to a unique which will listen
    on the same port.

  • Weblogic 8.1 Listen Port 80

    Hi,
    I want to configure Weblogic Listen Port in port 80 in Solaris and running with an user no root.
    I´ve seen that a must configure weblogic.system.enableSetUID=true propertie.
    Where can I configure this propertie?? Because in weblogic 8.1 doesn´t exist weblogic.properties.
    Thanks,
    David

    Hi Sarat,
    I´ve found that configuring weblogic.system.enableSetUID=true and weblogic.system.nonPrivUser=user WebLogic can be started in a port less that 1024 without root user. But I don´t know where configure this properties, because in Weblogic 5 this properties are in weblogic.properties.
    Thanks,

  • Re: Server machine and listening port

    Is there a way to retrieve the machine a server is running on (and its listening
    port) inside a Servlet or JSP?
    Currently whenever I change the machine or listening port for a server (via the
    console or the config.xml), I also need to find all Servlets and JSPs and alter
    them accordingly to reflect the change. This becomes very tedious and cumbersome.
    Thanks!

    Hi Jamieson,
    You can get to parameters like the server name and listen port using methods
    of weblogic.management.configuration.ServerMBean
    (http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs60/javadocs/index.html). For example, to get
    the listen port, use something like this:
    // Create an instance of ServerMBean
    weblogic.management.configuration.ServerMBean servermbean =
    weblogic.management.Admin.getServer();
    // Get the listen port
    int port = servermbean.getListenPort();
    System.out.println("port = " + port);
    // Get the server listenaddress
    String listenAddress = servermbean.getListenAddress();
    System.out.println("listenAddress = " + listenAddress);
    // To get the SSL listenport, create an instance of SSLMBean from the
    ServerMBean instance
    weblogic.management.configuration.SSLMBean sslmbean = servermbean.getSSL();
    // Now, get the SSL listenport
    int sslport = sslmbean.getListenPort();
    System.out.println("sslport = " + sslport);
    Robert's suggestion of using relative URLs is even better, however!

    Nothing to do with LOOKUP
    try below
    1. Let Provisioning happen as it is
    2. Open Create user task
    3. attach "Disable User" task on SUCCESS response of Create user.
    this will do your job
    else use useraccesscontrol=514 or 2. for this you need to add extra field to process form and add another task in the process definition

  • Listening port in oracle app. server 10gR2 in window 2003

    Hi Experts,
    How to find a listening port number of app. server?
    Thanks,
    Jim

    Check on the midtier home, the %ORACLE_HOME%\Apcahe\Apache\conf\httpd.conf file for port directive. Or if you have SSL-configured on the AS, the check ssl.conf file in the same location for the same directive.
    or Alternatively, log on to the EM for midtier. Go to ports and see the Webcache port for listen.
    Remember that these will be the listen ports for Webcache. For port where OHS will listen can be obtained by looking for Listen directive in the above files, and on EM, the port listed for OHS Listen (or SSL Listen, in case of SSL).

  • Select Listener Port Number from which_table?

    I'm writing a SQL script that, among other things, disconnects from Oracle and then reconnects to the same instance as a different user. I'm able to query v$database and v$instance to get most of the information I need (host, service name, etc) for the reconnect part. The only part I'm missing is the listener port number. I could hard code it to 1521, but that isn't very flexible. Currently, I'm prompting the user (which is normally me) for the listener port number in the SQL script, but that just seems a little bit lame. So my question is this: is there a view or table somewhere in the sys schema that I could use to view the listener configuration? I'm mostly working with 10gR2+ databases.

    cleavitt wrote:
    That is possible, but it needs to be a standard Oracle configuration if the script is to remain generic and portable. The script is actually working fine as-is. I was just trying to go the extra mile and determine the port number automatically. I could also prompt for a TNSNames entry as suggested by others, but I don't always have an entry defined for all of the Oracle instances in my company on every workstation that I work from.
    Here is the script for anyone that is interested. It started out as a script that I found online, but the original did not work with 11g case-sensitive passwords and it only worked for local connections on the server.
    Description:
    Allows a DBA user to impersonate another user (without knowing the user's password).
    Similar in function to using the SU command in Unix/Linux.
    Note:
    This script temporarily changes the impersonated user's password and may cause other
    connection attempts by that user to fail during the moment that the temporary password is in effect.

    WHENEVER SQLERROR CONTINUE
    SET VERIFY ONAnd by so doing you just kicked the user's password expiration on down the road, negating the benefit of havng a password expiration.
    Also, you locked out the legitimate user of this account, until such time as you reset it back to the original. And in the mean time, if this happens to be an account used by some automated process, that process doesn't know the new "temporary" password and runs a risk of locking the account from too many invalid connection attempts. Try to become SYSMAN or DBSNMP from this, and you will very quickly kill OEM.
    This has "bad idea" written all over it. What problem is it supposed to be be solving?
