SSRS Date and time Parameter

Hi Forumers'
Im trying to design a report in SSRS with date and time parameters
I would like to combined the fromdate, fromtime and stored the value to @Fromdatetime and
same with also todate, totime into @ToDatetime. i will used this in a where clause condition.
can you give me guys an idea. btw, i'm using Text queries not stored procedure.
Right now I tried this query but i got an error.
The variable name '@FromDatetime' has already been declared. Variable names must be unique within a query batch or stored procedure.
DECLARE @fromDateTime as datetime, @toDateTime as datetime
SET @fromdatetime = dbo.getCombinedDateTime(@fromDate,@fromTime)
SET @todatetime = dbo.getCombinedDateTime(@toDate,@toTime)
Select
v.JOURNALID
,v.TRANSDATE
,v.ITEMID
,v.QTY
,v.COSTAMOUNT
,v.JOURNALTYPE
,v.BOMLINE
From INVENTJOURNALTRANS v with (nolock)
Where v.TRANSDATE between @FromDatetime and @ToDatetime
and v.JOURNALTYPE=3
and v.BOMLINE=0
Thank you.

Hope this will help you. Set a parameter for  @timezoneoffset= 8, including the startdate, Enddate, StartTime,  EndTime and FromDatetime and ToDatetime. Then in your dateset properties navigate to parameters then in the parameter value of @FromDatetetime
and ToDatetime you created you will combine the @Startdate and Starttime:
by the way,   @timezoneoffset, set this as hidden in parameter visibility, then in default values under specify values place the 8.
Here we go:
In your parameters you have the following data:
StartDate:             Starttime:
EndDate:               EndTime:
in your dataset properies under expression of @FromDatetime and @Todatetime you have to combine the parameter you setup.
@FromDatetime
=Parameters!StartDate.Value &" "&Parameters!Starttime
@Todatetime
=Parameters!EndDate.Value &" "&Parameters!Endtime
In your select statement you have to do like this.
SELECT * FROM WHERE DATEADD(HOUR,convert(int,@timezoneOffset), pt.CREATEDDATETIME) BETWEEN (@fromDateTime)
AND  (@toDateTime)

    Hi Forumers'
I m trying to design a report in SSRS with Separate date and time parameters
I would like to have four parameter StartDate,EndDate,StartTime and EndTime.
reports should be filter on all four parameter.
can any one help me on this. i am using stored procedure to fetch data from db.

    Hi Nirmal,
I have tested on my local environment that as Visakh16 mentioned that you can use function like DATEADD(dd,DATEDIFF(dd,0,@StartDate),@StartTime)
to get the date/time value based on the date and time parameter you have selectted.
    There is also anoher method to add filter in the dataset but not in the query.Details information below for your reference;
Please change the datatype of the @sartdate and @enddate from text to date, if you don't specify an availbel value for these two parameters, you will get an calender picker to select the date.
I assumed the two time parameters will enter the value which format like:hh:mm or hh:mm:ssYou can conver the datetime field in the table to string and then compare with the conbine of the date and time field to filter the data
    like below:
Filter add in the dataset like:
    Expression:=FormatDateTime(Fields!DateTime.Value)           (String type)
    Operator: Between
    Value:
    =Parameters!StartDate.Value &" "&Right(TimeValue(Parameters!StartTime.Value),8)
    =Parameters!EndDate.Value &" "&Right(TimeValue(Parameters!EndTime.Value),8)
    Preview the report:
If you still have any problem, please feel free to ask.

  • CR 8.5, how can I pass just the date, when it wantes date and time?

I have a stored procedure that is passes a date parameter.
When CR prompts me for the date, it also wants the time.
Either I have to pass CR the time of get CR to just look at the date.
When I run the report with a date and time, CR returns no records.
When I run the SP in a SQL query with just the date, it returns data.
I'm CR 8.5 and MS SQL Server 2005
    Any advice would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Kelvin

You can pass the parameter values as follows for datetime.
01/31/2008 00:00:00 which will returns the data in the report.
If you either not interested to pass the time everytime, you can achieve it through Add Command option in the datasource expert and trigeer the SP. (i'm not sure Add Command is available with CR 8.5)
    Hope this helps!!

  • Selection Screen - Date and Time

    Hi,
I have given a selection screen where the user needs to key in the input in the following format
    dd.mm.yyyy hh:mm:ss.
Reason is that the database fetching these elements accepts only in this criteria.
Now as they look into automating this program, they would want to automatically take the current system date and time - 24 hours .
How do I achieve this in the above format? If this is not possible, let me know if i can make the selection screen with normal sap date format and convert it to the above format on passing to the select statement.
    Regards
    Sam

    Hi Sam,
See this. Is this your requirement.
With this we are able to get Current time-stamp to selection parameter.

    PARAMETERS:
P_TMSTMP TYPE TMSTMP OBLIGATORY MEMORY ID TEST.

       GET TIME STAMP FIELD L_TS.
       MOVE L_TS TO L_TS_C.
SET PARAMETER ID  'TEST' FIELD L_TS_C.
    The output is

  • How to get the client date and time ?

    Dear Sirs...
    Using jdeveloper 10.1.2.0
How can i get the client date and time using the HttpServletRequest ?
thanks for any help in advance
    best regards

If your code is running on the client pc you can just create a new instance of the java.util.Date class. That class automatically defaults to the current time of the client machine. Otherwise if you're running the code on the server, you could insert/post the client date/time by adding its string representation as a parameter to the HTTP request object.

  • TO_DATE - How do I pass the date and time to the function

    Hi,
I am writing a PL/SQL code. The code has a simple cursor,
For the criteria, I am using a column called 'created' which is a date column, and the to_date function.
I would like to pass the date and time to the to_date fuction as a parameter, date_value, as shown below.
    CURSOR opty is
    select a.name, a.id
    from s_opty a
    where a.created > to_date(date_value, 'DD/MM/YYYY HH24:MI:SS');
I've tried declaring a bind variable,
    date_value date := '&1'
    but no joy.

  • Getting Date and Time

    Hi Gurus,
Issue: At present the Shipment Execution time is defaulting to Local Time but the requirement is to always populate Eastern Standard Time (EST). Right now if the shipment creates in US West coast, shipment Execution Date and Time populates with that local time but I need to populate EST.
I need a function module which will take input as 'Time Zone' like EST and return Date and Time (OR) the input could be 'Country' and State and return the local time.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Regards,
    ananth.

    Here is your solution.
The function module IB_CONVERT_INTO_TIMESTAMP is used to convert the time to the GMT. The input parameters are DATE, TIME and the TIMEZONE(user's time zone, default value SY-ZONLO). The output parameter is the timestamp in GMT.
The function module IB_CONVERT_FROM_TIMESTAMP is used to get the time in required time zone. The input parameters for this are the timestamp obtained from the above function module and the time zone, to which the time needs to be converted.
The output parameters are the date, time in the required time zone.

  • Create condition based on date and time

    Hi everyone,
I'm using Discoverer Plus 10g. I want to create a condition in my worksheet using StageTime (consists of date and time) as the parameter, i.e. StageTime > StartTimeParameter and StageTime < EndTimeParameter.
I am able to create condition based on the date, but unable to create based on the time. I need to limit the data up to the hour, e.g.
    StageTime > 11-NOV-2005 1 AM and StageTime < 11-NOV-2005 3 AM.
But so far I am unable to create a condition for the hour element.
    I try to use this:
    TO_DATE(TO_CHAR(:Start Date Parameter,'mm-dd-yyyy')||' '||:Start Hour||':00:00','mm-dd-yyyy hh24:mi:ss')
Start Date Parameter is selected using the date picker in Discoverer Plus
and the Start Hour is in the format '00' to '23'
but was prompted with the error: ORA-015858 a non numeric character was found where a numeric was expected.
Would really appreciate anyone's help on this! :)
    Thanks,
    Angeline :)

how about, if :Start Date Parameter is of type DATE and :Start Hour is of type varchar2(2) to simply do
    :Start Date Parameter + to_number(:Start Hour)/24
    ?

  • Finding the initial date and time of a modified instance of  reccurnt evnt

The problem situation is as given below:
I have created an event recurrent using the outlook client. I them modified one
of the instance in it to occur in a data and time different from the existing
    date and time.
Using the CAPI i wish to retrieve the initial date and time when the instance
occured. According to documentation i should have the initial date and time in
the Recurrence ID parameter. When i look at the icalendar i see that the
recurrenceid matches the start date of the current instance and not the initial
date and time. I am using the fetchEventByUID in the CAPI API set.
Is this behaviour of changing date and time of the recurrence-id the expected
one or is there any problem in the configuration on my machine.
Counting on some insight into the parameter where the initial date and time of the event are stored.
    Best Regards
    Joyce

    Hi Joyce,
The sdk always sets the recurrence-id to be the starttime of the instance.
So the behavior you encountered is what one should expect with the sdk.
There were some changes in a 10G to correct this situation for a given service. (i.e. have the initial date and time in the Recurrence ID parameter, for instances of the recurring set).
This fix would not be available for the public sdk version, but given that this feature is important for your application, you could log a tar and it might become available in some 10G patch.

  • Date and Time in Sender File Adapter Target Directory

    Hi there,
is there a way of using Date and Time from XI to the Target Directory naming? To use variable substitution some fields of the message had to contain that date and time information, which is not our case.
For filename you can use "add time stamp" option, but and for target directory?
    Thanks and regards,
    Henrique.

    Hi there, Moorthy
We've tried to write that shell script that you mentioned, but now we have a few doubts on how to make it create the proper directory.
In the file adapter, my target directory is "/%var1%/%var2%/", where %var1% and %var2% are variable substitutions, referencing data which comes from the payload. Now, I need the shell script to append "/<Year>/<Month>/" in the target directory. But where to archive the script? If it stays in the root directory, than how to make it create "/<Year>/<Month>/" folders inside a directory which is variable (/%var1%/%var2%/)?
Is there a way of passing %var1% and %var2% as parameters for the shell script?
    Thanks a lot,
    Henrique.

  • Unable to insert date and time when using date datatype

    Hi
I am hitting a bit of a problem when using the date datatype. When trying to save a row to the table where the field it throws an error ora 01830 and complains about converting the date format picture ends...etc. Now when I do the insert, I use the to_date function with the format of "dd-mon-yyyy hh24:mi:ss". Of course, when I remove the time element, everything is perfect.
Checking sysdate, I noticed that the time element wasn't be displayed, and I used alter session set nls_date_format to set the date and time I want to save to the table, which worked!
Then based on advice in a previous thread to permanently fix the problem, I used alter system set nls_date_format ="dd-mon-yyyy hh24:mi:ss" scope=spfile; This showed that it was altered, and I can see the setting in the em. In sqlplus, I shutdown the database, and restarted with startup mount; alter database open; and then selecting sysdate, it still shows the date as dd-mon-yy, and still no time! Checking the em, and looking up the nls_date_format the setting is still shown as "dd-mon-yyyy hh24:mi:ss".
So, my question is this - what am I doing wrong? Why can't save date and time using date in Oracle 11g?????
    Thanks

ThanksYou most certainly can save the time. A DATE column, by definition stores date and time. What you describe is a presentation problem, and setting nls_date_format at the system as an init parm is the weakest of all settings as it is overridden by several other locations.
without seeing the exact sql that produced the error (not just your description of what you think you were doing) it is impossible to say for sure.
However, I'd suggest you read http://edstevensdba.wordpress.com/2011/04/07/nls_date_format/

  • DVD camcorder (VIDEO_TS) - preserve clip date and time

I had asked this question on the forums a long time ago but iMovie did not seem to be supporting it reliably at the time. But since some time has passed, I wanted to check if iMovie '09 can import clips from a mini DVD (those used in camcorders to capture video directly on to DVD media) AND preserve the clip's date and time.
What I see is that the first clip gets some date and time related to the event's date and time (perhaps the start time of the first clip?) but all the other clips which are imported, get timestamps of 1 second after that first clip's timestamp.
These are all my home videos and in order to keep each clip short, I have had the habit of pausing after about a minute or two, resulting in MANY clips over MANY DVD's, so manually updating date and time is absolutely the last resort.
The DVD player can see the clip date and time correctly, and so could the camcorder (I have since sold the darn thing!) so I know that information exists somewhere in the DVD, but it seems like iMovie is unable to "see" it.
Any help would be appreciated, including programmability hints.

Thank you for your post.  I figured out why iMovie was assigning today's date to everything that I imported.  It turns out that many of my video files did not have a real "created" date--some had no date at all and some had Wednesday, December, 1967 or 9 (I think).  iMovie defaulted today's date in both of these situations.  I took your advice and ot A Better Finder Attribute and easily converted all of the files using the option to copy the "modified date" into the "created date" attribute.  Now everything imports correctly into iMovie.
