Stack Exception
Hi.,
=>I am using jdev11.1.5
=>I had created a view link between two tables fin_periods (EO) and apl_accts (VO)
=>When i tried to navigate my page i am getting this exception
Error:
(oracle.jbo.TooManyObjectsException) JBO-25013: Too many objects match the primary key oracle.jbo.Key[MEL ].
=>How could i fix this error.
Hi,
Most likely the primary you specified on:
fin_periods
Is not unique.
Check the primary key on the entity/view
You can execute a distinct query on the database to see if the column is unique or not.
Although this should normally be a database constraint.

In our project, we have made an upgrade to TopLink version 10.1.3.0.0. After replacing as much as possible deprecated Classes/methods, we get TopLink Exceptions when accessing attributes which are mapped via indirection. When TopLink tries to retrieve the reference records from the database, a [TOPLINK-6029] exception occurs. We do not execute a query with "readObject" but we only acces the attribute which is mapped via indirection.
Exception-Stack:
Exception [TOPLINK-6029] (Oracle TopLink - 10g Release 3 (10.1.3.0.0) (Build 060118)): oracle.toplink.exceptions.QueryException

With TopLink versio 9.0.4.5 everything works correctly.
What could be the cause of this problem and what can we do to correct it.
Regards,
Hans.Hello James,
Thanks for the quick answer!
I have tested our program with the new TopLink version without making any change in the code, so definitely there a change in the behaviour in both TopLink versions. I have added the code where the descriptor and the onetomany mapping is created. I think the descriptor is ok, but the problem could have to do with the fact that in our program the business object is already registered in a unit of work.
When I debug the situation in Eclipse and expand the IndirectList first on the original and afterwards on the clone, no exception occurs. When I directly expand the IndirectList in the clone the excpetion comes.
// Descriptor creation
private static Descriptor buildRentFunctionDescriptor()
Descriptor desc = DescriptorLib.makeListDescriptor(RentFunction.class, RFU_TAB, RFU_TAB_KEY, RFU_PREFIX);
DescriptorLib.addDirectToFieldMapping(desc, PropM.RentFun.KEY, RFU_TAB_KEY);
DescriptorLib.addDirectToFieldMapping(desc, PropM.RentFun.NAME, RFU_TAB_NAME);
DescriptorLib.addDirectToFieldMapping(desc, PropM.RentFun.ORDER, RFU_TAB_ORDER);
DescriptorLib.addDirectToFieldMapping(desc, PropM.RentFun.RENT, RFU_TAB_RENT);
DescriptorLib.addDirectToFieldMapping(desc, PropM.RentFun.ATYPE, RFU_TAB_ATYPE);
DescriptorLib.addOneToManyMapping(desc, PropM.RentFun.HRENT, HistRent.class, HRE_TAB_LINK, true, true);
DescriptorLib.addOneToOneMapping(desc, PropM.RentFun.PER, Period.class, RFU_TAB_PER, false, false);
DescriptorLib.addOneToOneMapping(desc, PropM.RentFun.LEV, LocationLevel.class, RFU_TAB_LEV, false, false);
DescriptorLib.addOneToOneMapping(desc, PropM.RentFun.ACC, Account.class, RFU_TAB_ACC, false, false);
return desc;
//Mapping creation
public static OneToManyMapping addOneToManyMapping(Descriptor descriptor,
String attributeName,
Class referenceClass,
String targetForeignKey,
boolean useIndirection,
boolean enableCascadingDelete)
OneToManyMapping mapping = new OneToManyMapping();
mapping.setAttributeName(attributeName);
mapping.setReferenceClass(referenceClass);
mapping.setTargetForeignKeyFieldName(targetForeignKey);
if (useIndirection)
mapping.useTransparentCollection();
mapping.useCollectionClass(IndirectList.class);
else
mapping.dontUseIndirection();
if (enableCascadingDelete)
mapping.privateOwnedRelationship();
descriptor.addMapping(mapping);
return mapping;
Maybe you could give some tips about how to deal with registering the business object in the unit of work in combination with attributes that use indirection.
Regards,
Hans

Has anyone a clue where I should look? Are there features in the 9.0.3 Mapping Workbench not yet supported in 10.0.3?
Do I need to make settings in 10g before attempting the import/conversion?
Could there be a wrongly set Classpath?
When attempting to have the 9.0.3 generated deployment-xml file for this application interpreted using the 10g toplink.jar, I receive the following error:

please provide me your helpHi all,
The Problem is solved as we later realised the actual problem is with the input XML file provided to us.
We tried using a different XML file which was processed succesfully earlier ..and its working all fine now.
Thanx all,
take care -
Problem with queues / stacks for a project
I have to code a calculator that turns an infix expression, where the operator is in the middle, to a postfix expression, where the operators are at the end;
so, for instance, 5 + 5 would really be 5 5 +, and 5 + 5 * 5 / 5 would be 5 5 5 5 + * /.
I've gotten the addition and subtraction working fine, the only problem comes when I have to take into account order of operations (so far).
So, that being said, here is the code:
import java.util.*;
public class iCalc {
* @param args
public static void main(String[] args) {
// Scanner scan = new Scanner(System.in);
// System.out.println("Equation:");
// String input = "55+5-10%16."; //might have to store each element in a linked list later
// evalExp(input); //calls evalExp with the input
String input2 = "55 + 5 * 10 + 16";//declare some dummy input
//121
String [] items = input2.split(" ");//split the string's elements into an array
Queue<String> queue = new LinkedList<String>();//the queue
Stack<String> stack = new Stack<String>();//make a new stack to store operators
Stack<String> stackOutput = new Stack<String>();//output stack
for (String s : items) {//scan the array
System.out.println("item : " + s);//print out what's being scanned
if(isNumber(s)) queue.add(s);//add it onto the queue
if(isOperator(s)) stack.push(s);//add it onto the stack
//converts to postfix here
while(!stack.isEmpty()) queue.add(stack.pop());
evalExp(queue, stackOutput);
public static void evalExp(Queue<String> exp, Stack<String> outputStack)
System.out.println("Evaluating the expression...");

}the problem is somewhere in here. -
NO EXCEPTION IS THROWN FROM THE PERSIST
We are using Glassfish and MySQL. When we do a persist with a bad object/query, internal DB errors are NOT being reported back to the caller in any way, but Glassfish knows that the error occurred. Here is a schematic of the situation:
Glassfish starts a CMP transaction and calls our bean
Inside the bean we have code like this:
obj = (a new object that will cause a DB error when persisted)
try {
entityManager.persist(obj)
} catch (Throwable t) {
report to the user that the throwable happened
bean returns
Glassfish manages CMP transaction
What we see is the following:
- The persist has an internal failure and generates error messages in the Glassfish system.log file.
- NO EXCEPTION IS THROWN FROM THE PERSIST, so the application code thinks that the persist completed correctly
- At the end of the bean operation, Glassfish (correctly) rolls back the transaction.
At the user level the result is that the request succeeds but nothing is put into the Database!
We are not asking about the cause of the DB error. From reading the system log we know what happened and can fix it. Our problem is that problems in our field-deployed systems cannot be detected by the application code so failures cannot be reported to the user.
The critical question is:
Is there a way for the application code in the bean to see that an error occurred?
By the way, we also have a secondary question: Why is the erroneous persist tried 6 times before deciding it won't work? Is there an option somewhere that says to try 6 times?
The Exception as reported in the system log (only one copy of it) is included below.

You might 'force' this by calling entityManager.flush() right after the call to persist(...).
Or you register a transaction synchronizer and check the transaction status on afeterCompletion().

Yep, the appserver got hold of a usable connection but the connection was closed before the appserver had finished/committed with it. It could be that the connection was closed by the database or some firewall timeout setting.
A good start is to investigate options of configuring your appserver's connection eviction policies including forcing a validation SQL to be executed when a connection is acquired. Make sure that such a query doesn't impact on performance and have some performance and integration testing before rolling out.i found that if i close the computer which causes this issue, hence other dev computers can deploy normally.
"deploy" here i mean deploy to a running instance on each dev's machine.
From this, i would guess the common database server itself rejects connection from clients.
I will try to investigate more if i am missing something.
And here i found a link that possibly a first good attempt:
[http://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/m/505809/]
EclipseLink automatically recovers from communication failures, but there is little we can do to diagnose the failure. We basically execute a query and have to wait for the JDBC driver, or DataSource's response, if it hangs for 10minutes, then we are waiting. You could set the JDBC timeout hint on your query, but whether the JDBC driver honors this is up to the driver. You should see the SQLException in your logs, provided your log level is warning or lower.
If you cannot fix your firewall, they you could change your connection pool settings to use a min number of connections of 0, so there will never be idle connections. But then you will be reconnecting a lot.
You could also use a third party connection pool or DataSource that supports a timeout setting on the pooled connections, or spawn a thread in your application the clears the connection pool every 30minutes.regards,

Exception CX_XMS_SYSERR_MAPPING occurred
Hi,
I am working on FTP 2 FTP scenario and I am getting following Error. I even verified the Interface Mapping by testing the Payload Document from SXMB_MONI and the mapping is working fine. But the o/p file is not getting created and in SXMB_MONI I see the following error. Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.

BPEL 2.0 throws some of the faults as exceptions.. how do i handle them
hi All
I am using Jdev 11.1.1.6
There is something weird happening while i am trying to handle faults in BPEL 2.0..
Scenario: I am simply transfering data from one table to another and there is mismatch of the length in two tables i.e. target table have column with 30 length and source system is sending data of 40 length..
so i am expecting a BPEL Binding Fault for the same
but I am getting an exception from BPEL 2.0 for the same.. and it is not thrown as a fault to catch block.. Project gets Rolledback without throwing Fault to catch Block..
then i tried same with BPEL 1.1 and it gave me fault as expected in catch block which i could handle by sending fault notifications..
but BPEL 2.0 does not give me option of sending notifications as i do not get fault in Catch block..
Issue: How do i handle the fault in BPEL 2.0 when its throwing it as exception?????
Below is the trace i get from my instance with BPEL 2.0 and BPEL 1.1..
Getting Exception From BPEL 2.0 as below_: After throwing the exception process gets rolledback but instance is always in running mode

And When My Target DB is having Values, It is thrown as Exception.. i.e. no fault to Catch block :(
Someone have any idea, hoe this can be resolved???

SessionLoaderExceptions:Try testing to ensure that the driver is on the classpath correctly first. It may be that a class in this jar requires another class missing from your classpath.
In your test first do a,
Class.forName("oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver");
If this works, you may be passing an incorrect class loader to the SessionManager, ensure the class loader you pass can load the Oracle driver. -

Process exited with exit code 1.The Oracle 9 Platform requires the Oracle JDBC driver to be on the classpath. If you are trying to use the Oracle JDBC driver, then likely your driver is not on the classpath.
If you are using another driver to access the oracle database then you will need to use OraclePlatform. OraclePlatform does not make any reference to Oracle Driver specific classes.
