Starting global heartbeat for cluster "d8aed2bb8ab9381d": Failed

When I tries to start the O2cb it can't find the heartbeat region..
The heartbeat regions is on /dev/mapper/360060e8006d044000000d0440000012b, And as you can see it has "Bad magic number in inode",
Soo What can I do about that? Can I clear this disk and create a new one? Any suggestions?

  • Start Data Selection for Header Tabels fail

    Hi!
    The above mentioned activity fails because tabels COEP and COBK are vergy large and it seems that I run into a time out.
    I found the note:
    1166229 - Customizing the select statement within Fill Header Reports
    I' am not a CO spezialist and I don't know which field I could take to add additional selection criterias on this tabels.
    As much as I understand this tabel save CO data and since I transfer with TDMS just the last 2 month of our production system, my idea is to select e.g. just year 2009 for COEP and COBK.
    Any hint or proposals??
    BR
    Werner

    Hi,
    1. Check if all the recommendations as per note 890797 are followed.
    2. If yes, run the troubleshooter for the activity.
    3. Here, under "Change Technical Settings for Conversion Objects", change the size category for the table to Large.
    4. Go back to the Troubleshooter screen and run "Troubleshooter for Conversion Objects" -> "Automatic Repair"
    5. Restart Data Selection
    Hope this resolves the issue.

    How do I solve this?

    Hello,
    Problem is indeed because of upstart/init incompatibility. Here is the working way:
    1) Proceed with the installation as usual until root.sh invocation.
    2) Before root.sh edit $GRID_HOME/crs/install/s_crsconfig_lib.pm, go to line 1173 (you should find a code like: if ($srv eq "ohasd") { # Start OHASD).
    3) Insert a following snippet before starting OHASD part (line 1173)
    my $UPSTART_OHASD_SERVICE = "oracle-ohasd";
    my $INITCTL = "/sbin/initctl";
    ($status, @output) = system_cmd_capture ("$INITCTL start $UPSTART_OHASD_SERVICE");
    if (0 != $status)
    error ("Failed to start $UPSTART_OHASD_SERVICE, error: $!");
    return $FAILED;
    4) Create a file /etc/init/oracle-ohasd.conf with the following content inside
    # Oracle OHASD startup
    start on runlevel [35]
    stop on runlevel [!35]
    respawn
    exec /etc/init.d/init.ohasd run >/dev/null 2>&1 </dev/null
    5) Invoke root.sh
    6) Finish the installation.
    If you previously ran root.sh (not successfully), simply roll it back:
    $GRID_HOME/crs/install/roothas.pl -deconfig -force -verbose
    Make changes above and continue.
    good luck
    Anand

    Hi,
    Ran into this myself and then found your note. After much investigating it turns out that the Linux run level on my AMI's is set to 4 (even though the inittab has it set to 3) and the CRS init script init.ohasd expects 3 and 5. Because of that problem, the "init" process was not able to launch the init.ohasd script.
    For now the workaound for this problem is to run the system at run levels 3 or 5 before executing the root script. However, I am still trying to figure out why my AMI's are running at 4.
    I am curious, if you do read this, did you get this error during the install and ignore it?
    Run Level
    This is a prerequisite condition to test whether the system is running with proper run level. (more details)
    Expected Value
    : 3,5
    Actual Value
    : 4
    I did and of course it didn't work. Also, what Amazon AMI did you use?
    Thanks,
    Larry

    I just noticed the exact same thing. It turns out that the httpd-ssl.conf file on my system is still the old v2.2 syntax, which means that the SSLMutex directive is still in there. This is an invalid directive after 2.2.
    This is where things get interesting. At first, I simply thought I had forgotten to merge httpd-ssl.conf.pacnew after apache had been upgraded to 2.4. However, when I check my pacman.log, it appears that httpd-ssl.conf was never upgraded when apache went to 2.4 - (2.2.26-1 -> 2.4.7-1). There was never a pacnew file generated to be merged.
    I took a look at the apache package via the abs and the "proper" httpd-ssl.conf is certainly in there, so why pacman never created a pacnew file is a mystery.
    Anyway, to fix this: pull the httpd-ssl.conf from the apache package, either from your cache, using the abs and building it, or (I think) pacman may re-install it if you move the file to a backup location (not sure about this). Then merge your original httpd-ssl-conf with the new one.

  • Oracle Linux 6.2 with RAC 11g cluster install fails on root.sh ioctl

    I have 2 HP Servers I'm trying to install a cluster to.
    I've tried Oracle Linux 6.2 and 6.3 with the same error on both nodes when running the root.sh script.
    I have tried the permissions, run-levels, etc that I have found in the forum and nothing has worked except the deconfigure works great. /u01/app/11.2.0/grid/crs/install/rootcrs.pl -deconfig -force
    root.sh Errors:
    Adding daemon to inittab
    CRS-4124: Oracle High Availability Services startup failed.
    CRS-4000: Command Start failed, or completed with errors.
    ohasd failed to start: Inappropriate ioctl for device
    ohasd failed to start at /u01/app/11.2.0/grid/crs/install/rootcrs.pl line 443.
    I can't see whats wrong, I did use ASM to configure iSCSI disks from a storage device which appeared to work correctly:
    # oracleasm listdisks
    VOL1
    VOL2
    VOL3
    VOL5
    # ls /dev/oracleasm/disks/
    VOL1 VOL2 VOL3 VOL5
    When I created the disks with ASM I used multipath successfuly:
    # oracleasm createdisk VOL1 /dev/mapper/23535333762373932
    The other node can see the disks just fine with oracleasm listdisks
    I chose 3 disks for the OCR - VOL1-3
    There was one forum work around to edit the $GRID_HOME/crs/install/s_crsconfig_lib.pm which I did no Oracle Linux 6.3 to no avail. I also tried using NFS mounted volumes for the OCR drives but got the same error.
    Using the install: linux.x64_11gR2_grid

    oracleasm (aka asmlib) may not be supported on RHEL(OEL) 6.x. You do NOT need asmlib and it's days are numbered.
    upon review of this document, even though it was for 10g, it still appears to be relevant

    and
    udev utility can be used for disk mounting consistency between the nodes. It is the preferred tool. Note:371814.1 explains how to use the udev option.

  • Cluster network name resource 'Cluster Name' failed registration of one or more associated DNS name(s) for the following reason: The handle is invalid.

    I'm stuck here trying to figure this error out.
    2003 domain, 2012 hyper v core 3 nodes.  (I have two of these hyper V groups, hvclust2012 is the problem group, hvclust2008 is okay)
    In Failover Cluster Manager I see these errors, "Cluster network name resource 'Cluster Name' failed registration of one or more associated DNS name(s) for the following reason:  The handle is invalid."
    I restarted the host node that was listed in having the error then another node starts showing the errors.
    I tried to follow this site:  http://blog.subvertallmedia.com/2012/12/06/repairing-a-failover-cluster-in-windows-server-2012-live-migration-fails-dns-cluster-name-errors/
    Then this error shows up when doing the repair:  there was an error repairing the active directory object for 'Cluster Name'
    I looked at our domain controller and noticed I don't have access to local users and groups.  I can access our other hvclust2008 (both clusters are same version 2012).
    <image here>
    I came upon this thread:  http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/85fc2ad5-b0c0-41f0-900e-df1db8625445/windows-2012-cluster-resource-name-fails-dns-registration-evt-1196?forum=winserverClustering
    Now, I'm stuck on adding a managed service account (mas).  I'm not sure if I'm way off track to fix this.  Any advice?  Thanks in advance!
    <image here>

    Thanks Elton,
    I restarted 3 hosts after applying the hotfix.  Then I did the steps below and got stuck on step 5.  That is when I get the error (image above).  There
    was an error repairing the active directory object for 'Cluster Name'.  For more data, see 'Information Details'.
    To reset the password on the affected name resource, perform the following steps:
    From Failover Cluster Manager, locate the name resource.
    Right-click on the resource, and click Properties.
    On the Policies tab, select If resource fails, do not restart, and then click OK.
    Right-click on the resource, click More Actions, and then click Simulate Failure.
    When the name resource shows "Failed," right-click on the resource, click More Actions, and then click Repair.
    After the name resource is online, right-click on the resource, and then click Properties.
    On the Policies tab, select If resource fails, attempt restart on current node, and then click OK.
    Thanks

    thanks

    for windows you should have an exe and a 7z file.  put both in the same directory and double click the exe.

    Hello Djam,
    Please review the following:
    The FMW WebLogic Server (WLS) installation has been configured to use a non-default Java temporary files directory,
    i.e. the following has been set in the WebLogic startup or setDomainEnv.sh script:
    EXTRA_JAVA_PROPERTIES="-Djava.io.tmpdir=/appl/oracle/temp_java_files ${EXTRA_JAVA_PROPERTIES}"
    Reference: How to Change the WebLogic Server Location for Temporary Files (Doc ID 1336002.1)
    When the Middleware home was restored the directory specified by java.io.tmpdir parameter was missing,
    Therefore an IOException occurred when opening the wallet and WLS was unable to initialize the OPSS successfully.
    To resolve the issue re-create the directory specified by the java.io.tmp dir parameter, and make sure the owner and group access are the same as for the FMW installation.
    Unable Start AdminServer: JPS-01050: Opening of wallet based credential store failed. Reason java.io.IOException (Doc ID 1923395.1)

  • Solaris Cluster and Global Devices for sapmnt

    Hi,
    IHAC that is considering using Global Devices for /usr/sapmnt in a SAP environment, since they need all SAP nodes looking for the same sapmnt area. Is this a recommended approach?
    Generally, we are working with S11.1/Solaris Cluster 4.1 to implement Netweaver 7.2 and ERP 6.0.
    I appreciate your comments.
    Regards, Rafael.

    Hi Rafael,
    /usr/sapmnt is a file system, as such I assume when you ask about usage of global devices you really mean to ask about using a global file system (ie. an UFS file system with mount option global)?
    If that is true, then the answer is yes.
    The data service guide for SAP NetWeaver (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E29086_01/html/E29440/installconfig-10.html#installconfig-34) does mention in the section "configuration considerations":
    "The SAP enqueue server and SAP replica server run on different cluster nodes. Therefore, the SAP application files (binary files, configuration files, and parameter files) can be installed either on the global file system or on the local file system. However, the application files for each of these applications must be accessible at all times from the nodes on which these applications are running."
    And the deployment example in the appendix (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E29086_01/html/E29440/gmlbt.html#scrolltoc) makes use of a global mounted /sapstore file system.

    Hi All,
    I have a two node 2003 cluster, When any one of the cluster node holding resources goes down, the resources are not failing over to the running node.
    In the running node I receive the pop-up error message
    ""An error occured attempting to read properties for 'Cluster Group' group. The remote procedure call failed. Error ID:1726 (000006be).""
    After I click on ok on the pop-up error message the resources are coming online on the running node. If I dont click ok the pop-up error message. The Cluadmin screen is not responding and the resources are not coming online.

    How to FIX this issue?
    Regards,
    Stunner.

    Hi,
    Unfortunately, the available information is not enough to have a clear view of the occurred behavior. Base on my experience, it may cause by some of one resource abnormal
    failure, I suggest that please schedule a down time to run “Repair Active Directory object” in “Simulate Failue of this resource” status. And the operation “Repair Active Directory Object” will force to update the object’s attributes.

  • Hyper-V Guest Cluster Node Failing Regularly

    Hi,
    We currently have a 4-node Server 2012 R2 Cluster witch hosts among other things, a 3 node Guest Cluster running a single clustered file service.
    Around once a week, the guest cluster node that is currently hosting the clustered file service will fail.  It's as if the VM is blue screening.  That in itself is fairly anoying and I'll be doing all the updates and checking event log for clues
    as to the cause.
    The problem then is that whichever physical cluster node that is hosting the VM when it fails,  will not unlock some of the VM's files.  The Virtual machine configuration lists as Online Pending.  This means that the failed VM cannot be restarted
    on any other cluster node.  The only fix is to drain the physical host it failed on, and reboot.
    Looking for suggestions on how to fix the following.
    1. Crashing guest file cluster node
    2. Failed VM with shared VHDX requiring Phyiscal host reboot.
    Event messages for the physical host that was hosting the failed vm in order that they occured.
    Hyper-V-Worker: Event ID 18590 - 'FS-03' has encountered a fatal error.  The guest operating system reported that it failed with the following error codes: ErrorCode0: 0x9E, ErrorCode1: 0x6C2A17C0, ErrorCode2: 0x3C, ErrorCode3: 0xA, ErrorCode4:

    Hyper-V-High-Availability: Event ID 21107 - 'Virtual Machine FS-03' failed to start.
    FailoverClustering: Event ID 1205 - The Cluster service failed to bring clustered role 'FS-03' completely online or offline. One or more resources may be in a failed state. This may impact the availability of the clustered role.

    Hi,
    I don’t found the similar issue, Does your cluster can pass the cluster validation? Does all your Hyper-V host compatible with Server 2012r2? Have you try to disable all your
    AV soft and firewall? Please rerun Storage validation on the Cluster in non-production hours, the cluster validation report will quickly locate the issue.
