Steps to create a budget process

Hi,
Could you please describe me the exhaustive list of steps to create a budget process on Hyperion planning?
thanks,

Hi,
1. Create a new Planning Unit Hierarchy
2. Give the Hierarchy Name and Select Process Management Template
Process Management Template are of 3 types:
•     Bottom Up – The process follows a pre-specified hierarchy where the user does not have the option of choosing which user to promote to in the hierarchy. The process is automatically promoted to the next level user.
•     Distribute – The process ownership is first given to an administrator who then decides as to which user should get ownership and start with the process. It is more of a Top down approach.
•     Free Form – In this process template, each user has to select the user to whom the process needs to be promoted.
3. Select the entities for which process management has to be done from Primary and subhierarchy selection
4. Check on “Planning Units” to view only the entities for which process management are enabled
5. Assign Owners (Users) and Reviewers (Users/Groups) to the respective entities
6. Save the Planning Unit Hierarchy
7. Assign Scenario and Version to the Planning Unit Hierarchy by clicking on Action. Select appropriate “Scenario” and “Version”
8. Browse to Manage Process and Select the Scenario and Version for which Workflow Process is to be started and Select “Tree View”
9. Expand the Entity Hierarchy and start the entity.
10. Planning Unit hierarchy is started and so the Process Status changes to 1st pass.

  • Steps to create a budget Journals

    Hi
I am struggling to create a budget journals and i need some helps.
I have defines my budget and budget organisation but when i go to budget journals to create a new Budget journal hit cant do it.
Am sure am missing a couple of steps along the way.
Any help will be appreciated, useful documentation on budget and posting will be appreciated.

    Hi.
Also what and why combination accounts so important?<My friend, if you don't know the anwer to this question you are really in trouble. Almoust all Oracle General Ledger functions have to do with account combinations. Journals, balances, budgets, etc. are stored in the database with a reference to the CCID (code combination id).
But let's see your problem again.
Please check again in Accounts/Combinations if the combination exists and if the flag Enabled, Allow Budgeting and Allow Posting are all enabled. Then check each one of the segment values to see if they are enabled and none of them has an end date on it. Also check if each segment has the 'Allow Budgeting" field set to 'Yes'.
    Let me know your findings.

  • Budgeting Process Steps

    Hi,
As far as i can comprehend from budgeting textbooks, the few major steps involved in coming up with a detailed budget involved (regardless of software at this moment):
    1) study external and internal factors,
    2) C level people (CFO, CEO..) come up with corporate objectives in the form of high level numbers, i.e. gross margin, ROI, net income,
    3) C level people discuss with senior management on the numbers for corporate objectives,
    4) senior management will be guided by the corporate objectives created in step 2, to come up with master             financial statements, such as master PnL, master balance sheet, master cash flow
    5) equipped with the master forecast financial statements, allocation is done so that certain entities have certain numbers, i.e. sales, cost... to hit
how different is this textbook suggestion from how the real world budgeting is done? and i am a bit confused about step 5 as well, i mean if allocation is done to such a detailed level, where is the contribution from the operation level people? certainly between senior management and operation level, there must be some space that allows creativity of detailed budget creation so that challenges on the numbers can happen. or maybe my concept of allocation is wrong, since i thought everything from sales, raw material cost, sales and admin cost is allocated. it doesn't really make sense, but what number is actually allocated then?
      any input on this?
    cheers

    Hi,
In real term scenario, the budget implementation is quite similar to the one specified. However, the one specified only talks about top down approach. In reality, most of the organizations follow a Counter - Current approach (combination of both top - down and bottom - up).
The following points should be kept in mind while implementing Budgeting Process with BPC:
    1. Budget approach
    a. Frequency and timing
Will budget information be entered monthly, quarterly, yearly?
Will budgeting and forecasting happen at the same time or at different times?
    b. Iterations
If only the current budget or forecast is required, then a single budget or forecast category is all that is needed
If multiple versions of the budget need to be saved, members such as BUDGETV1, BUDGETV2u2026will be needed
If a monthly version of the forecast needs to be saved, members such as JANFCST, FEBFCSTu2026will be needed
    c. Best Practice: Multiple iterations
Create a single category that users write to (e.g. Current Budget)
When a version of the Current Budget needs to be saved, the Administrator can use a Data Manager copy package to copy that data to another category member (e.g. Budget Version 1)
    2. Modeling requirements and budget method
    a. Level of detail
What level is being budgeted for in every dimension?
The best practice is to budget at the base level in every dimension
    b. Approaches for budgeting at a level that is higher than base:
Separate application: If you need to model at aggregated levels across most of the dimensions and detail is not important
Separate hierarchy: For example, if certain budget inputs need to occur at the total year level, set up a separate hierarchy that includes only total year members for each year
Smart input: Use the existing full hierarchy, but only input to certain members. For example, to budget for all products in a dimension with individual products at the base level, input the value that represents the total for all products into one of the base level products and let it aggregate to the total
    c. Top Down
Allows for inputs that represent aggregated values to be allocated down to the base members of one or many dimensions
    d. Bottom Up
Allows for inputs at the base level of every dimension. This does not require that every member in every dimension is budgeted for.
Allows budget creators to input their numbers and provide justification, rather than having a number assigned to them
    e. Budgeting Tips
Auditing: in most cases, auditing is not turned on for Budget or Forecast categories
Insight: the Budget detail should be the same as the Actual detail if using Insight
    Utilize optimization to improve performance
    3. Seeding requirements
    a. Zero base: No data seeded as a starting point
    b. Prior year actual: Data manager copy package is used to copy actual data from the prior year to the budget for the current year
    c. Current forecast: Data manager copy package is used to copy current forecast data to the budget for the current year
    d. Percent increase or decrease of actual or forecast: Data manager copy package is used in conjunction with conversion and transformation files which define the calculation
    4. Input schedules
    a. Input schedules can be broken out by:
    Business process
    Account classification
    b. How input templates are broken out typically depends on:
    Budget process
    Budget creators
    Structure of the company
    c. Functions used to send data to the database:
EVSND gives cell by cell control and is best used when you need to convert an existing schedule
EVDRE performs better and is more scalable
    d. Built u2013 in modeling functions
Spread: allows you to take a value and allocate it among selected destination cells. The value may be allocated equally, or it may be weighted by an optional range of weights
Trend: takes a value and grows it by a factor among selected cells. The source value will be placed in the first cell of the destination range. Each subsequent cell in the destination will increase by the amount specified
Weight: allows you to allocate an amount by weighted factors in your spreadsheet
    5. Business process flows
    a. EVASV Function: status reporting
Returns the approval status codes for a given category, entity, and time member
Can also be used to return the owner and the time the status was updated
EVASV (AppName, Category, Entity, Time, Parameter)
The Parameter returns one of the following:
u2022     0 u2013 (Default) Returns the status code
u2022     1 u2013 Returns the person who updated the status code
u2022     2 u2013 Returns the time the status was updated
    Budget Method:
u2022     Direct Input: the account is being populated via direct input into an input schedule that interfaces with the database
u2022     Calculated (Driver Based): the account is calculated based on another account value. One account u201Cdrivesu201D the value in the second account. An account that is a driver may drive the value of more than one target account
Hope these points help. Please award points if helpful.

  • Steps for Creating Process chain!

    Hi All,
I want to create process chain which can schedule IP and run the concern job to fill infocubes/ODS?Can someone please guide me stepwise how to proceed. Some sort of doc will eb appreciated.

    Hi,
You can either create a process chain directly in the process chain maintenance screen, or by using a maintenance dialog for a process
Creating a Process Chain Directly in the Process Chain Maintenance Screen
    In the BW Administrator Workbench
      1.      Choose the  Process Chain Maintenance icon from the AWB toolbar.
      2.      Choose Create.
      3.      Enter the technical name and a description of the chain, and confirm your entry.
       4.      Create a variant for a start process.
On the Maintain Start Process screen, choose whether you want to schedule the chain directly or whether you want to start it using a metachain.
If you choose to schedule the chain directly, enter the start date value for a chain under Change Selections and save your entries.
Save your entries, go back to the previous screen and confirm your entries in the Add Start Process dialog box.
The  Plan View of the process chain maintenance screen appears.
In the left-hand area of the screen, a navigation area is displayed. In the right-hand area of the screen, the process chain is displayed.
           5.      Use Drag&Drop or double-click to add the relevant processes to your process chain.
Choose  Process Types to select the processes. This sorts the process types according to different categories. You can also call up InfoPackages and processes for the data target from the separate  InfoSources and  Data Targets navigation trees.
If you insert a process into the chain that is linked to additional processes by default, the respective process variants are generated and automatically inserted into the process chain. These variants are suggestions and can be changed, replaced or removed from the chain as required. Variant maintenance is called when the change run performs automatic insert.
    a.       On the Maintain Start Process screen, choose whether you want to schedule the chain directly or whether you want to start it using a metachain.
    b.       If you choose to schedule the chain directly, enter the start date value for the chain under Change Selections and save your entries.
The Maintain Start Process screen appears again.
    c.       Save your entries, go back to the previous screen and confirm your entries in the Add Start Process dialog box.
The  Plan View of the process chain maintenance screen appears.
The various process categories, the application processes, and collection processes are displayed in the left-hand area of the screen. In the right-hand area of the screen, the process chain is displayed.
If the process that you used to create a chain is linked to additional processes by default, the respective process variants are generated and inserted into the process chain automatically. These variants are suggestions and can be changed, replaced or removed from the chain as required. Variant maintenance is called when the change run performs automatic insert.
Choose  Process Types to select the processes. This sorts the process types according to different categories. You can also call up InfoPackages and processes for the data target from the separate  InfoSources and   Data Targets navigation trees.
When you add a process, you need to select a process variant or create a new variant. For collection processes, the system uniquely determines the variants.
Various functions for editing the process are available from the context menu
Maintain variants  With the exception of the variants in the collection processes OR and EXOR, you can use this function to change all process variants.
    Exchange variants
You can exchange the variants for an existing variant or a variant that is to be created.
You can use this function to link a process to a successor process. You can choose from the processes that are not yet linked to the current process. They are grouped according to process type in submenus.
          Display scheduled jobs
Once the process chain is active, you can use this function to display the jobs that have been scheduled.
After at least one process chain run, you can display all of the scheduled jobs for a specific process and all of the jobs with which this process was run. The Job Overview appears and you can call the relevant job log.
    Create message
You can also send messages to an application process of the chain, depending on the success or failure of the process.
    1.       To do this, using the context menu for a process, create another process variant of type Send Message.
    2.       If you maintain a message, first specify whether you want the message to be sent when the process has been completed successfully or unsuccessfully. Then choose Next.
    3.       A dialog box appears, in which you can select an existing process variant or create a new one.
    4.       If you create a new process variant, edit the document that is going to be sent and maintain a list of recipients.
    5.       Save your process variant and go back.
The message process variant is now assigned to your application process. When the message is sent, the status information and the process log are also sent.
Only use this function to debug a process run.
Specify how long (in seconds) you want the delay to be between one event being triggered and the next process starting.
You can capture the process in the debugger by using transaction SM37 (Job Overview) or SM50 (Process Overview).
    Remove process
You use this function to remove a process from a process chain.
    Manage data target
You use this function to call the data target administration for the following types of process variants:
             Construct index
             Delete index
             Construct database statistics
             Roll up filled aggregates
             Compress InfoCube
             Activate DataStore object data
           7.      Hold down the left mouse button to connect the processes with events.
Before you do this, select the process underneath the process type row, and position the cursor over the required process. When you select the process type row, the whole process is moved into the plan view.
From the context menu of a link, you can display the event or remove the link. To do this, select the link and right-click with the mouse.
           8.      If necessary, specify whether you want the event to be triggered after the previous process has been completed successfully or unsuccessfully, or whether you want the event to be triggered independently of the outcome of the process that precedes it. If the process that triggers the event has more than one option, choose the option after which the successor process is to be run
           9.      Assign a display component to the process chain using Attributes
         10.      Maintain additional process chain attributes if necessary.
         11.      Check your process chain in the  Check View and make any necessary corrections.
The  Legend explains the meaning of the different colors used to display the processes and links.
From the context menu for a process, you can display the messages resulting from the check.
During the check, the system calculates the number of parallel processes according to the structure of the chain . The result is compared with the number of background processes on the chosen server (or the total of all available servers if no server is specified in the attributes of the process chain). If the number of parallel processes is greater than the number of available background processes, the system highlights every level of the process chain where the number of processes is too high. The system produces a warning for these levels.
       12.      Save your process chain if it does not contain any errors.
You can activate and schedule your process chain. After scheduling, the chain starts in accordance with the start process selections. For example, if you scheduled the start process directly and chose Immediately as the start date value, the chain run starts immediately after scheduling.  In the  Log View, you can display the reports for the chain runs.

  • What are the basic steps for creating a content repository?

I am trying to create a document store on a file system (fsdb) that will hold files that are ftp's to that location. Is this possible using KM? If so, what are the basic steps for creating a file system repository and using it through KM? I have found stuff on help.sap.com but that only tells you what each component does not what actual steps need to be taken to setup KM, such as user rights , creating an entry point, so that all of KM is not visible, etc...
If anyone knows of any guides that show a step by step process that would be great too.
    Thanks
    Paul

    Hi Paul
First of all you need to create a new repository
Suppose you want to add all the documents under folder Paul under C: Drive
(Even you can put whole documents of C: drive into Paul)
Navigate to System Admin -> System Configuration -> Knowledge management -> Content Management -> Repository Manager -> File System Repository
There you can create a new directory by clicking on button New
Give the parameters as follows :-
    Name               :           Anything you like
    Description       :           Anything you want
Prefix (must start with /)  :  Probably same as your repository name like \Paul
    Lookup mode : caseless
    Root Directory   :  C:\Paul
NOTE:  This is the trick. You need to give the proper path means folder path which you want use as repository)
Repository Services  :  Any services you want
    Property Search : Managercom.sapportals.wcm.repository.manager.generic.search.SimplePropertySearchManager
    Security Manager         :           AclSecurityManager
    ACL Manager Cache   :           ca_cm_rep_acl
    The save it
Now see whether the same repository is coming under KM Content or not, if not may be after restart it will come.
I think the above information will help you. If still you have problem, please feel free to contect me.

you have now two different pfiles: one in c:\temp\initstdby4.ora. and %ORACLE_HOME%\database\initstdby4.ora.
You are using the latter, as you didn't specify pfile= in your startup mount.
Also, if you are using a spfile, the only line in a pfile should be: spfile=....
In your pfile you are mixing up Unix like file locations with \ and Windows file locations with /

i need to have 3 screens. 1000 being the tabstrip, 2000 being first subscreen and 3000 being the second subscreen.
i have the abap code but i do not know the steps to create especially 1000 screen.
for 2000 and 3000, once i activated the program, these 2 screens added but i do not know where can i create the 1000 screen.
also, should i use wizard to create tabstrip?
    please advise. thanks

Assigning a Subscreen Area to a Tab Title
You must assign a subscreen area to each tab title. There are two ways of doing this:
    Paging in the SAPgui
You need to assign a separate subscreen area to each tab title, and define the function codes of the tab titles with type P (local GUI function). In the screen flow logic, you call all the subscreens in the PBO event. This means that all of the tab pages reside locally on the SAPgui.
When the user chooses a tab title, paging takes place within the SAPgui. In this respect, the tabstrip control behaves like a single screen. In particular, the PAI event is not triggered when the user chooses a tab title, and no data is transported. While this improves the performance of your tabstrip control, it also has the negative effect that when the user does trigger the PAI event, all of the input checks for all of the subscreens are performed. This means that when the user is working on one tab page, the input checks may jump to an unfilled mandatory field on another page.
Local paging at the SAPgui is therefore most appropriate for screens that display data rather than for input screens.
    Paging on the Application Server
One subscreen area is shared by all tab titles and called in the PBO event. You define the function codes of the individual tab titles without a special function type. When the user chooses a tab page, the PAI event is triggered, and you must include a module in your flow logic that activates the appropriate tab page and assigns the correct subscreen to the subscreen area.
Since the PAI event is triggered each time the user chooses a tab title, this method is less economical for the application server, but the input checks that are performed only affect the current tab page.
    Procedure in Either Case
You create the subscreen areas within the tabstrip area. You assign the subscreen areas to one or more tab titles in the Screen Painter by selecting one or more titles. You can also assign a subscreen area to a tab title in the tab title attributes by entering the name of the subscreen area in the Reference field attribute.
The procedure for the alphanumeric Screen Painter is described under Creating Tabstrip Controls.
If you are paging at the SAPgui, create a subscreen area for each tab title. If you are paging at the application server, select all tab titles and create a single subscreen area. The subscreen areas may not cover the top line of the tab area. However, within a tab area, more than one subscreen area can overlap.
    Programming the Flow Logic
In the flow logic, all you have to do by hand is include the correct subscreens. The screen flow and data transport to the ABAP program is the same as for normal subscreens. There are two ways of programming the screen flow logic, depending on how you have decided to page through the tabstrip control.
    Paging in the SAPgui
When you page in the SAPgui, you must include a subscreen for each subscreen area:
    PROCESS BEFORE OUTPUT.
      CALL SUBSCREEN: <area1> INCLUDING [<prog 1>] <dynp 1>,
                      <area2> INCLUDING [<prog 2>] <dynp 2>,
                      <area3> INCLUDING [<prog 3>] <dynp 3>,
    PROCESS AFTER INPUT.
      CALL SUBSCREEN: <area1>,
                      <area2>,
                      <area3>,
    Paging on the Application Server
When you page on the application server, you only have to include a subscreen for the one subscreen area:
    PROCESS BEFORE OUTPUT.
      CALL SUBSCREEN <area> INCLUDING [<prog>] <dynp>.
    PROCESS AFTER INPUT.
      CALL SUBSCREEN <area>.
    Handling in the ABAP Program
Before you can use a tabstrip control in your ABAP program, you must create a control for each control in the declaration part of your program using the following statement:
    CONTROLS <ctrl> TYPE TABSTRIP.
where <ctrl> is the name of the tabstrip area on a screen in the ABAP program. The control allows the ABAP program to work with the tabstrip control. The statement declares a structure with the name <ctrl> . The only component of this structure that you need in your program is called ACTIVETAB.
    Use in the PBO event
Before the screen is displayed, you use the control to set the tab page that is currently active. To do this, assign the function code of the corresponding tab title to the component ACTIVETAB:
    <ctrl>-ACTIVETAB = <fcode>.
When you page at the SAPgui, you only need to do this once before the screen is displayed. This initializes the tabstrip control. The default active tab page is the first page. After this, the page activated when the user chooses a tab title is set within SAPgui.
When you page on the application server, you must assign the active page both before the screen is displayed for the first time, and each time the user pages. At the same time, you must set the required subscreen screen.
You can suppress a tab page dynamically by setting the ACTIVE field of table SCREEN to 0 for the corresponding tab title.
    Use in the PAI event
In the PAI event, ACTIVETAB contains the function code of the last active tab title on the screen.
When you page in the SAPgui, this allows you to find out the page that the user can currently see. When you page at the application server, the active tab page is controlled by the ABAP program anyway.
The OK_CODE field behaves differently according to the paging method:
    Paging in the SAPgui
When you page in the SAPgui, the PAI event is not triggered when the user chooses a tab title, and the OK_CODE field is not filled. The OK_CODE field is only filled by user actions in the GUI status or when the user chooses a pushbutton either outside the tabstrip control or on one of the subscreens.
    Paging on the application server
If you are paging at the application server, the PAI event is triggered when the user chooses a tab title, and the OK_CODE field is filled with the corresponding function code.
To page through the tabstrip control, you must assign the function code to the ACTIVETAB component of the control:
    <ctrl>-ACTIVETAB = <ok_code>.
This statement overwrites the function code of the last active tab page with that of the new tab title. At the same time, you must ensure that the correct subscreen is inserted in the subscreen area.
Otherwise, tabstrip controls are handled like normal subscrens in ABAP programs, that is, the ABAP program of a subscreen screen must contain the dialog modules called from the flow logic of the subscreen.
    Examples
    Tabstrip control, paging at SAPgui
    REPORT DEMO_DYNPRO_TABSTRIP_LOCAL.
    CONTROLS MYTABSTRIP TYPE TABSTRIP.
    DATA: OK_CODE TYPE SY-UCOMM,
          SAVE_OK TYPE SY-UCOMM.
    MYTABSTRIP-ACTIVETAB = 'PUSH2'.
    CALL SCREEN 100.
    MODULE STATUS_0100 OUTPUT.
      SET PF-STATUS 'SCREEN_100'.
    ENDMODULE.
    MODULE CANCEL INPUT.
      LEAVE PROGRAM.
    ENDMODULE.
    MODULE USER_COMMAND INPUT.
      SAVE_OK = OK_CODE.
      CLEAR OK_CODE.
      IF SAVE_OK = 'OK'.
        MESSAGE I888(SABAPDOCU) WITH 'MYTABSTRIP-ACTIVETAB ='
                                      MYTABSTRIP-ACTIVETAB.
      ENDIF.
    ENDMODULE.
The next screen (statically defined) for screen 100 is itself. It has the following layout:
The screen contains a tabstrip area called MYTABSTRIP with three tab titles PUSH1, PUSH2 and PUSH3. The function codes have the same name, and all have the function type P. One of the subscreen areas SUB1 to SUB3 is assigned to each tab title. The pushbutton has the name BUTTON and the function code ‘OK’.
In the same ABAP program, there are three subscreen screens 110 to 130. Each of these fits the subscreen area exactly. The layout is:
The screen flow logic for screen 100 is as follows:
    PROCESS BEFORE OUTPUT.
      MODULE STATUS_0100.
      CALL SUBSCREEN: SUB1 INCLUDING SY-REPID '0110',
                      SUB2 INCLUDING SY-REPID '0120',
                      SUB3 INCLUDING SY-REPID '0130'.
    PROCESS AFTER INPUT.
      MODULE CANCEL AT EXIT-COMMAND.
      CALL SUBSCREEN: SUB1,
                      SUB2,
                      SUB3.
      MODULE USER_COMMAND.
The screen flow logic of subscreens 110 to 130 does not contain any module calls.
When you run the program, a screen appears on which the second tab page is active, since the program sets the ACTIVETAB component of the structure MYTABSTRIP to PUSH2 before the screen is displayed. The user can page through the tabstrip control without the PAI event being triggered. One of the three subscreens is included on each tab page.
When the user chooses Continue, the PAI event is triggered, and an information message displays the function code of the tab title of the page that is currently active.
Tabstrip control with paging on the application server.
    REPORT DEMO_DYNPRO_TABSTRIP_LOCAL.
    CONTROLS MYTABSTRIP TYPE TABSTRIP.
    DATA: OK_CODE TYPE SY-UCOMM,
          SAVE_OK TYPE SY-UCOMM.
    DATA  NUMBER TYPE SY-DYNNR.
    MYTABSTRIP-ACTIVETAB = 'PUSH2'.
    NUMBER = '0120'.
    CALL SCREEN 100.
    MODULE STATUS_0100 OUTPUT.
      SET PF-STATUS 'SCREEN_100'.
    ENDMODULE.
    MODULE CANCEL INPUT.
      LEAVE PROGRAM.
    ENDMODULE.
    MODULE USER_COMMAND INPUT.
      SAVE_OK = OK_CODE.
      CLEAR OK_CODE.
      IF SAVE_OK = 'OK'.
        MESSAGE I888(SABAPDOCU) WITH 'MYTABSTRIP-ACTIVETAB ='
                                      MYTABSTRIP-ACTIVETAB.
      ELSE.
        MYTABSTRIP-ACTIVETAB = SAVE_OK.
        CASE SAVE_OK.
          WHEN 'PUSH1'.
            NUMBER = '0110'.
          WHEN 'PUSH2'.
            NUMBER = '0120'.
          WHEN 'PUSH3'.
            NUMBER = '0130'.
        ENDCASE.
      ENDIF.
    ENDMODULE.
The statically-defined next screen for screen 100 is itself, and its layout is the same as in the above example. However, the function codes of the three tab titles have the function type <blank> and they all share a single subscreen area SUB.
The same subscreen screens 110 to 130 are defined as in the last example.
The screen flow logic for screen 100 is as follows:
    PROCESS BEFORE OUTPUT.
      MODULE STATUS_0100.
CALL SUBSCREEN SUB INCLUDING SY-REPID NUMBER.
    PROCESS AFTER INPUT.
      MODULE CANCEL AT EXIT-COMMAND.
      CALL SUBSCREEN SUB.
      MODULE USER_COMMAND.
In this example, the program includes a subscreen screen in the subscreen area SUB dynamically during the PBO event.
The screen flow logic of subscreens 110 to 130 does not contain any module calls.
This example has the same function as the previous example, but the paging within the tabstrip control is implemented on the application server. Each time the user chooses a tab title, the function code from the OK_CODE field is assigned to the ACTIVETAB component of structure MYTABSTRIP. At the same time, the variable NUMBER is filled with the screen number of the subscreen that has to be displayed in the subscreen area SUB of the tabstrip control

  • How to get the Asset's current step under a specific workflow process via API?

    Everyone,
Is there a way to get the asset's current step for a specific workflow process by the WebCenter Sites API? We are showing out the asset created within the WebCenter Sites in another application via its API. We would like some actions get to be done once determined assets went into a specific step of a workflow process. Any suggestions are welcomed.
    Regards!

Here is some information from the FDK Programmer's guide page 115:
IMPORTANT: A valid text range can span multiple paragraphs, subcolumns, or text frames.
It cant span multiple flows, footnotes, table cells, or text lines.
It is possible for a document to have no text selection or insertion point at all. This can occur in
    the following circumstances:
    ● One or more graphic objects in the document are selected
    ● One or more entire table cells in the document are selected
    ● There is no selection of any type in the document
So, I did select one or more entire table cells in the document in my first test. It's logical that the result was not like expected.
But selecting one or more entire table cells is a crucial requirement for my plugin, is there anyway to get things straight?
Simply put, I want to enable users to select one or more table cells in the document, and I want to get the object handles of the first cell and the last cell through Framemaker API calls. How?
    Many thanks in advance!

  • How to create a scheduled process

    Hi all,
I'd like to create a (WLI) process that would run once
a day at 12:00 noon. Outside of WLI, I could easily use
    SpringFramework/Quartz to create a scheduled task that's
equivalent to such a WLI process. But with WLI (8.1),
I've had a very hard time to create such a process.
I'd much appreciate if anyone could give a high level

  • How to create messages in process chains?

    Dear Gurus,
I want to use the alert system in the process chains.  like when one process fails i have to receive the message on my mail or as an SMS on my mobile.
I tried the same thing with one of my process chain.  When i right click one of my process in my process chain i will get the create message option.  But my problem is i dont know how to use that option.  If u have any solutions or any material please try to send me to the following ID <b>[email protected]</b>
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
You can also send messages to an application process of the chain, depending on the success or failure of the process.
    1.       From the context menu of a process, create an additional process variant of the Send Message type.
    2.       If you maintain a message, first specify whether you want the message to be sent when the process has been completed successfully or unsuccessfully. Then choose Next.
    3.       You arrive at a window, in which you can select an existing process variant or create a new one.
    4.       If you create a new process variant, edit the document that is going to be sent, and maintain a list of recipients.
    5.       Save your process variant and go back a step.
The message process variant is now assigned to your application process. When the message is sent, the status information and the process log can also be sent.
