Still No iPhone 5s ordered 9/20

ordered my phone 9/20 never got an email about a delay, called verizon and they told me there was an issue (again never informed me until i called). they assured me the issuer was fixed and money was even taken from my account 10/6 and still have not received an update. Now when i call the automated operator says my order was cancelled when talk to a representative they say my order is still being processed, Yet they still look money from my account. Now I'm talking to a chat person right now as I'm typing this that says my order was canceled on 10/22 but does not now why and i have to call. Again money still taken from my account on 10/6 and never returned even though they say it was canceled. ***. This is unbelievable.

bkeck,
Same thing happened to me today. The rep that I spoke with could not find anything in the system to indicate how/why the order was cancelled. I had already signed the updated contract and my credit card had more than enough money on it. The rep was polite especially given that I told her upfront that I was an irate and upset customer. Getting told that the only option was to reorder and that the phone would not be shipped until 11/18 was it.
I work anywhere from 40-70 hours a week (adjunct instructor, drive between 500-700 miles a week between 6-7 different schools). I'm teaching more than a full-time faculty member and earning less than what the bottom pay is. Not that this relates back to Verizon, but the phone really was not the phone but a representation. It was reward I was giving myself. I've been waiting since 9/20 when I placed the order. It hurts and I now won't be getting a new phone because what is the point? Most likely as the experts predicted the demand will not catch up until Christmas.
To add salt to the wound. Because my other phone is dying I missed on an interview for another school closer to home. Also I've been excited and shared with others that I would be getting a new iPhone Gold. Now I am going to be greatly embarrassed because I am not going to be able to deliver. In fact just last week one of my students asked if I had received my phone yet because she knew I was looking forward to getting it. Unfortunately we are not the only ones that have experienced this. Read the previous comments and threads.
Verizon needs to fix the communication breakdown. There is obviously either (1) someone going in and deleting orders because the demand is too high or (2) something is seriously wrong with their ordering system. Furthermore, they need to give the reps something more to help appease upset customers such as ourselves. Dangling "free overnight shipping" is not enough. We would have already received "free 2-day shipping." Furthermore if we have been willing to wait for over a month for the phone... ONE DAY will not matter!!!!
I worked several years in customer service. I understand that companies cannot keep all of the customers happy, but small promises and "small carrots" is defiantly not enough. Also while they are just doing their jobs the VZW Moderator replies of "Oh we know you are excited and looking forward to the phone. Please explain the problem and we will help out" responses are not enough. There are people from both sides, we are getting treated as if we are not people because it is the same generated reply over and over and over again. It would be better customer service to actually have one rep follow through and take care of a customer instead of a second rep to come in and reiterate what the first person has says. While they are just doing their jobs, again Verizon needs to take a bit more initiative. They appear to be working top down. They need to go back to the customer service from about 3-4 years ago when it seemed like the reps had a bit more voice and say in making their recommendations. What that will do is open up the flow of communication. Moreover, I would not be surprised if there is a high turn overrate right now for the customer service reps (my opinion, based on observations) because it seems like reps are kept accountable to meeting a "numbers" requirement with their replies instead of a "quality" requirement. The more satisfaction a person has at his or her job the more likely he or she will remain and contribute more to the company. Also the longer the person will stay. By norm or reciprocity a customer service rep will feel good about what he or she does if they have a positive impact on their customers and keep them happy. The rep will also be less likely to experience stress because of upset and irate customers because in turn the customers are kept happy.
I would say that as customers yes we have a responsibility to treat customer service representatives as people too, but it is frustrating when all they got is "free overnight shipping" and getting the same basic replies. It is hard when you are treated impersonally not to respond in kind way. I've already vented by making some strong inappropriate statements to the machine that called back to complete the survey. It is always easier to yell at a machine, but hopefully if someone actually ever listens to the message they will not take it personally.
I am only rambling now because it is good to vent and share my thoughts and perspectives.
Kindly,
Formerly known as would be owner of a beautiful iPhone 5s, Gold, 64 that was ordered by phone 09/20/2013 and unhappy/depressed in So Cal.

  • Still NO IPHONE!

I ordered on 2/9 @ 3:01 am, and still no Iphone, or ship date.  When I talked to CS today, and they said that there is nothing they can tell me, expect that it SHOULD ship by 2/18.  I asked about canceling and picking up in a store, but they said stores are out of stock, so my best bet is to wait it to.  I am soooo frustrated!  Has anyone else seen/heard the same thing?

It is not an issue of patience but of poor planning on the part of Verizon. As far as I am concerned, Verizon has amassed a good dose of poor publici relations with the way they set up this process. Perhaps their stock was limited and they wanted to have enough on-hand to satisfy in-store demand and thought not having any for on-line orders was the lesser of two evils. Whatever, i feel it is inexcusable for Verizon to have eager customers waiting a week for delivery when you could have walked in just about any Verizon retail store across the nation last Fri and bought one. Most stores did not have lines and did not run out of stock.
I also initially ordered on-line early Thurs morning. When, by late Fri morning, there was no update to my order, I called my local (45 minute drive!) Verizon store and was told they had sufficient stock and I did not have to worry about getting one at the store. They cancelled my order and by 1:00 I was at the counter purchasing my phone. Most other folks purchasing phones while I was there were also buying iPhones. The store never did have a line or a rush. As long as your order has not processed, it can still be cancelled.
The release date was known for a long time and there should have been sufficient stock to satisfy both on-line orders and in-store orders - within reason, of course.

  • I accidentally deleted part of an iphone (4s) note. Is there a way to restore the deleted text? I learned too late about being able to shake the iphone in order to undo my action, so is there any other way?

Restoring a phone from a backup will put the device back to the state it was when the backup took place, i.e. all info that you had on that phone before using the backup will be gone.
You could try to restore the phone, which will back up the actual data on the phone, including the passcode, and use this backup to set up a new phone with. The passcode will still be the same, because it is  part of the backup.
More info here, iPhone and iPod touch: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
Not being able to fill in the passcode is not much different from forgetting it.
If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.

I have no idea what may have caused your MacBook to stop working, but from your description it kind of sounds like it may have started before you ran Software Update and installed the new Apps. Just the general slow feeling and bugginess is what tips me off. You said that you weren't sure if you had closed all open windows, that doesn't matter if the computer restarts itself. It automatically closes all other open applications when restarting.
As to your data being retrievable, if when you take it in they do a fresh install of the OS, then no, it will not be unless you want to pay several thousand dollars to a software retrieval company.
I am glad to hear that you have taken into the Apple Store to get it fixed, and that you have all of your purchased music backed up to your iPod. You should be able to just transfer it all back to iTunes once you get your computer back should it be necessary.
As a side note, the proper place for this topic would probably in the MacBook forums, not iTunes since there is no evidence that iTunes started the issue.

On your iPhone, try toggling Find My iPhone off, then back on after a few seconds.

  • HT201365 I've forgotten my passcode and can't get into the phone to turn off "find my iphone" in order to restore it... Help Please

I've forgotten my passcode and can't get into the phone to turn off "find my iphone" in order to restore it... Can anyone help?

If you know the password to your apple id login - you can then do a restoration once you have put your device into recovery mode using itunes.
read this article to give you direction how to put your device into recovery mode.
Once you have put in your apple id login and password this then will allow you to restore the device once the device is placed in recovery mode.
    good luck!

I have taken it back to the Apple store genius bar, but they say they don't see anything wrong. Well unless you use it all day and experience the problems when they happen, you wont see anything wrong. But there are lots wrong with it. But this would be the same store as I purchased the phone. And they backed up my old Iphone 4, but were not able to get anything to load back onto my new phone. So, I lost pretty much everything. But over time, some of my contacts have started showing up, although i am still missing over 800 of them.

    c) unistalled and reinstalled iTunes
Doublechecking. Have you also tried a complete uninstall of both iTunes and all the other related software components and then a reinstall? If not, try the instructions from the following document:

  • Is it possible change my iphone 4 order from 16gb to 32gb

Is it possible change my iphone 4 order. from 16gb to 32gb and have the same ship date.

I'm sure you can, you would just have to call them up and tell them that you want the 32GB instead. If you ordered it and wanted to change on the same day, i'm sure you would have the same ship date but if you changed it the day after, it might as well change. who knows. Give them a call and see what they say.

  • When I delete a podcast in iTunes it is still on iPhone after sync; just in the cloud.

When I delete a podcast in iTunes it is still on iPhone after sync; just in the cloud (it has a close and download icon). All I want to do is delete it. I Now I have to delete in manually from all devices. I have not listened to it either.
Also, I cannot use the selling to delete played podcasts, because I want to keep some of them.
    I have IOS 8.1, iTunes 12.0.. and OSX 10.10.1. iPhones 4,5 and 6 and iPad Air 2
In the good old days, you deleted in iTunes and the next time you synced it, it was removed from the iPhone, iPods and iPads. Now, I have to update them all.
Note: Subscription takes place on my Mac, not the other devices.
Am I missing something, because this is a real pain?
    Thanks
    Tony..

You aren't mssing anything. As far as I am aware, this is simply the process that you need to take to remove them.

Why must I force quit (double press home and slide off) Mail on both my iPad and iPhone in order to have Mail access on my iMac on the same wifi network. Fetch is set to manual and my ISP is Charter.

I don't know about the "3" but it's a POP account. I've always suspected that Charter isn't letting go using their mobile apps for iOS. Puzzling that it doesn't block the other way. That is if Mail is open on the iMac it doesn't block access to Mail on either the iPad or iPhone. I'm guessing it's their mobile apps that are the problem but they won't admit it to me.
