PRCR-1001 : Resource ora.DEV.lsnr does not existFrom 11.2, the listener is created by default from the Grid Home and is called the "grid listener" . The error that you are getting means that the resource Listener from the database home doesn't exist and I think, you haven't created a listener from the database home. So you should connect as the owner of the grid environment and use the same command to stop the listener. To confirm that the listener is running from which home, issue this command and post here the result,
ps -ef| grep tnsAman....

  • Urgent : MDB stops listening to the queues after some time  !!!

    Hi,
I am using OJMS with OC4J 10.1.2 and db 9.2.0.5. I have a web application which send messages into the queue very frequently.
But the problem is the MDBs stop listening to the queues after some time (1-2 days) and no more messages will be dequeued from that point.
All these messages will move to the exception queue after their expiry.
But the dequeing agains resumes after restarting the OC4J !.
I guess, at some point mdbs are either becoming busy (locked ) or some exception occured while dequeing, hence they stop listening to the queues.
Please throw some light on this issue as it is very crucial in my project.
    Regards
    Prashanth

I've noticed this lately as well, with my iPhone 4. I couldn't confidently pin it directly on any particular iOS update, but my iPhone used to automatically connect up via Bluetooth with my Prius's handsfree feature, and now it doesn't. I work with a CE-based device at my job, with Bluetooth capability, and I used to test out that feature by having it discover my iPhone. This no longer works either.
What I have found (not really a solution, but it does work and may be a clue for Apple) is that if I simply go to the Settings app then the General -> Bluetooth screen and let it sit there, it will pair right up with my car within a few seconds. Bluetooth is always on, and always says "Now Discoverable" at the bottom of the settings screen.

  • JCoIDoc.Server doesn't stop listening even after removing the application

    Hi,
I developed a java application with a JCoIDoc.Server to listen for IDocs from the R/3 system. I made it available in the WAS 2004s server. The application is working fine, i.e its catching the IDocs coming from R/3. The problem is, it doesnt stop listening even if i remove the application from the server.
How should I make the server stop listening?
    Thanks,
    Venkat

    Hi,
You need to call the disconnect method to release the connection from the server
    JCoIDoc.Server t; // Your Server Instance
                t.disconnect();
Why dont you use  JCO RFC Privider Service?

  • Why does siri stop listening so quickly, I cant even finish my question or command half the time before it starts trying to search

Most of the time siri works fairly well, but there are a good amount of times where it just stops "listening" and starts searching. Like ill say Find directions to...and it jumps ahead and starts searching before i can say where i want directions too. ***.

There are a few reasons why siri will stop listening:
    1. It is having problems connecting to the network so can't search for what you are looking for. You are prompted with something like: I am sorry I can't connect right now.
    2. There is a pause when you are dictating something to siri so it assumes you are done. Pauses of about 2 or 3 seconds should do it.
    3. You accidentally press the siri button indicating you are done dictating to siri.
If none of these are the problem, I don't know what else to do. How often is this occuring?

  • During one weekend maintainence, the stopped listener kept coming back

I have a standalone LINUX REDHAT 11gR2 which has a primary database running. There is another exact same server same version of database as standby database.
last weekend I had to do some maintenance which will last from Saturday/Sunday. In order to prevent any connections, I stop the listener and did my stuff.
However after a while, let's say several hours later, when I checked ps -ef|grep tns, the listener was back. I stopped again, and then on Sunday morning, it was on again.
I checked any cron jobs under grid user, I did not see any.
So can anybody tell me if this is a new feature in standalone 11gr2 database?
If that is the case, how do we stop listener for a longer period of time?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello;
I'm almost certain this is not a feature.
What command are you using to stop the listener?
lsnrctl stopClusterware could be doing this.
Maybe use restrict mode to avoid issue.
SQL>startup restrictAlso if you are using Oracle version 10+ or 11+, the dbstart/dbshut scripts will start/stop the listener for you. Any chance another script is calling dbstart?

  • Kanaka stops listening on 3089?

    Hello,
We have an OES 2 Linux server that every few days Kanaka (v2.70) stops listening on port 3089. At that point clients cannot log in and we cannot access the web config page. So far the only solution we have found is to restart the Kanaka Engine daemon. It frequently takes several attempts of restarting the service ( # rcnovell-kanakaengined restart) before it listens on port 3089 (as verified by netstat and being able to access the web page). I just changed the Kanaka log level to Debug to hopefully get some useful data, but at the default Informational setting it doesn't show anything helpful.
What can I be looking at to 1) find out why that part of the service dies, and 2) reliably restart the service?
We have a second (fairly identical) server that never seems to have this problem.

    Firstly you have OES2 SP3.
The Resolution of the TID says "Update novell-xtier* rpms to verion
3.1.8-0.26 or later" and since you have version 3.1.8-0.25 (ie. earlier)
the TID would seem to apply.
Note that version 3.1.8-0.25 of the novell-xtier* packages were included
in the January 2012 Scheduled Maintenance patch for OES2 SP3 so it would
appear that you haven't applied any patches since then.

  • Why is Siri opening and then stop listening right away?

When I use the "raise phone to ear" feature of Siri I hear the beeping to indicate that Siri is ready to listen and then right away I hear the beep that Siri has stopped listening.  This happens when I raise the phone to my ear to talk to Siri.  Also, the beeping to indicate "listening" mode plays through earpiece, the beeping to indicate "stop listening" mode plays through speaker...
    Anyone else having this issue?

I'm not having that issue but I'm pretty sure it's not going to matter after today since I believe Siri will no longer work once the 4 S is out tomorrow.

  • Issues stopping Listener

    Hi all,
We currently have an issue on one of our production database servers. We perform a cold backup of the database every night, stopping the db & the listener, making the backup, then starting both again. Occasionally (Once a week) we have an issue where the Listener seems to "lockup" on shutdown. IE the process lsnrctl stop LISTENER is just sitting in the process queue. Has anyone seen this happen before? We are running 10.1.0.3 on Redhat Enterprise AS 3 Update 5.
    Thanks
EDIT: The following is the output that is captured from the Cronjob when the process locks up:

The listener is simply a device to watch on the network for service requests. If a network request comes in, the listener checks whether it knows about the service and, if so, it asks the service provider to establish a connection to the requestor. After the provider and requestttor have been brought in touch with each other, the listener gets out of the way.
One possible service provider is a database. Others are the external jobs that can be called from the database, and also [in 10gR2] the EPG which replaces the Apache HTTP server for HTTP as well as FTP and DAV requests.
One listener can listen on behalf of any number of databases and other services on that box, in part because it really doesn't do anything other establish the initial connection.
If the database service is self-registering (does not have an entry in the listener.ora file and does have a LOCAL_LISTENER=xxx setting in the init.ora or spfile.ora) then shutting down the database will ensure the listener will not attempt a connection for that instance.
Shutting down the listener does not kill any existing connections, just ensures no new ones will get through - if the instance is up.
I would not worry too much about the missing last line - it should not have a negative effect on your backup. Worth monitoring that your listener does start up properly though.

  • How do I stop itunes from resuming a song from when I previously stopped listening to it?

When I start playing a track on my itunes 11.0, instead of starting from the beginning of the song, it resumes from the point that I stopped listening to last. Double-clicking the track doesn't work. This also occurs when I'm going through a whole album. For example, as soon as I'm done with track 1 the track 2 could possibly have only 10 seconds of the track left because that's where I last stopped listening to it.
This change happened out of nowhere, and I don't recall ever changing any preferences. It's annoying and killing my music mojo. Help please.

i have even turned off itunes helper in the log in menu.
Did you remove iTunes Helper from your Login Items?
If not, you need to remove it from the Login iTunes. Checking an item in your Login Items list hides the item during startup, it doesn't turn it off or not checking the item doesn't turn it off. You need to remove it from your Login Items list if not removed.

  • Start and Stop Listener service -Oracle 10g

Please, How I can stop and start listener service? My question is because I have "Oracle Instance" Oracle NT Service" in start up options in manually (i need to have them in way).
Platform: Oracle 10g.10.2.0.1.0 / Windows XP Professional.

    If I understand your issue....
    C:\> net start <listener service name>
    and
    C:\> net stop <listener service name>
where <listener service name> is exactly the service name you see in Services panel.

  • My audiobooks no longer play on my computer from where I stopped listening on my phone.

I used to be able to listen to my audiobooks (Audible or other) on my iPhone, sync the phone to my laptop and start listening through iTunes where I stopped on my phone. This doesn't seem to work any longer. The book will start from the beginning or where ever I stopped when listening on iTune previously. I have checked pretty much every setting in iTunes and on my phone to no avail. Is anyone else encountering this or am I alone here?
    iPhone 4 running iOS 6.0.1
    iTunes 10.7 (21) and OS X 10.8.2 on a MacBook Pro.
    Mainly using Audible (.aa/mp3) audiobooks

Umm... Nevermind. For some reason Part 2 of my Audiobook was displayed before Part 1, so when I went to play it I was playing Part 2 instead of Part 1 but didn't realize it because the title was obscured. Doh!

When I am listening to my ipod shuffle on in order, and then stop, and then go back, its starts from the very beginning. Why?

Yes I can and here it is as you can see its like on another screen on my desktop and I can't get to it.
