The scenario is, database entries have to be selected from two tables and at the same time those tables have to be udpated with the flag.
We are using JDBC sender adapter and in Select Query, we are fetching the data by joinin the two tables.
Update Statemtent: We can only update one table using this statement.
Is it possible to update two tables using the Update Statement without using Stored Procedures.

Stored Procedure call from JDBC sender for Oracle Database

Hi,
I have a requirement to call stored procedure using JDBC sender adapter for retriving data from an Oracle database.
I need to execute first stored procedure call from Querry SQL statement and then trigger second stored procedure call for confirming the succesful retrival of those records from the update SQL statement.
Querries:
1. Can we trigger stored procedure from Update statement of JDBC sender.
2. Can we call stored procedure from Querry statement, since I have read on other sdn threads that stored procedure calls on Oracle database are not allowed. If not possible to have "Execute stored procedure" would the function call (select * from table(function name)) work same as stored procedure.
3. In a JDBC sender the Querry statement and Update statement are executed in same session call and same database connection. What happens if the querry statement was not succesful, would the update be still triggered.
Please note PI does not have direct access to main table and hence the need to have separate stored procedure calls.
The PI version is PI 7.11 sp4.

Yes using select query you can call stored procedure.

No select and update handles in the same session using the same thread so if one transaction fails update should not proceed.

Storedprocedure trigger using JDBC sender adapter.

Hi All,
How can i execute the storedprocedure using JDBC sender adapter. I need to trigger the storedprocedure once in every hour. so i would like to use the JDBC sender adapter. My question is what is the SQL i need use in the SQLstatement parameter..?? I don't want to send parameters and not expecting any return values. It should just trigger the procedure.

it is possible to execute a stored porcedure using a sender JDBC adapter.
Just Specify an SQL EXECUTE statement to execute a stored procedure, which contains exactly one SELECT statement.
This will have to be done for your SELECT statement in JDBC adapter. ALso, make the UPDATE as either TEST, if you dont want any updations or give an UPDATE statement for the UPDATE query.
Set the polling interval of your JDBC adapter to 1 hour and it will work like u want.

My scenario involves accessing an SQL server to XI to APO.
I need to invoke a stored procedure residing on SQL server in order to get the data into XI.
Can somebody suggest how i acheive this.
It has to be done every month...so is there a way i can schedule the JDBC sender adapter

Yes, of course you can invoke Stored Procedures on SQL server using XI. The link you are looking for is this:

The only limitation is that you can have only one SELECT statement in the Stored Procedure.

Jdbc sender adapter in synchronous mode

Dear Experts,
I am on PI 7.0 SP 14. I would like to know whether it is possible to use jdbc sender adapter in
synchrounous mode. The scenario is jdbc to web service . The response from webservice should be inserted into the database. If we use the insert statement in the response mapping will it work ?

Iam using JDBC Sender Adapter to connect to Oracle Server. I have mentioned all the parameters in the Configuration(sender communication channel) correctly.My Adapter Monitoring in RWB shows a message that "Processing finished successfully"...But I cannot see the data in SXMB_MONI. I mean the data is not getting picked from the Database..I have worked on the similar scenario previously and it was working fine...

Can you check the following,
1. Check the SELECT query in your Sender JDBC adapter. Does it actually return any rows?
2. The values enterd for Documentname and DocumentNamespace in your Sender JDBC adapter. You have to enter the name of the Datatype and the namespace in these fields.
3.Have you enterd these details while doing the adapter configuration,
<b>jdbc:oracle:thin:@<IP adress>:<listener port>:<instance name (database name)>

Empty CLOB field value from Oracle database using JDBC Sender

Hi All,
I am selecting a CLOB field from Oracle database table using JDBC Sender adapter and getting error "NullPointerException"
Seen SAP note 1283089 but its not applicable for my support pack PI 7.0 SP 12 and client dont want to upgrdate SP 17 right now.
I tried rpad(1,0)Column_Name funciton in JDBC select query but it selcting blank value for every record even those having some value for this CLOB field so not useful
Could anybody suggest possible way? client dont want to change anything at database side.

What is the Oracle driver version installed? You might need to install 10.x driver if not already using it.

                      If my select Query has not returned any row then it won't come to Pipeline right ?
                        What i want is
                      <b> If no rows returned then call one RFC to insert the remarks .
                        If rows found call another RFC to insert the values </b>
                       How can i handle the Situtation ?

Double postings makes it difficult for all involved people to inform theirselfes about the point of discussion.
The polling sender adapter is doing nothing, if no rows selected. So how do want to send a message?
You have to use the JDBC receiver adapter, invoke the message by a job in ERP, for example with a self written RFC or a proxy. You can decide at ERP side, which function module it to be called. Of coz there are other possibilities, for example to put the logic into a business process, but you wont have success with the sender adapter.

JDBC Sender adapter - Oracle - Stored Procedure - Error

Hello,
Need few clarifications on JDBC sender adapter and stored procedures when connecting to Oracle DB.
My scenario is, Oracle to SAPBW. So in sender JDBC adapter, we have used a SP having multiple SQL statements it, esp. one of the SELECT statment having Joins on a table and View.
My questions are,
1) Is it possible to have more SQL statements in SP for Sender JDBC?
2) Is the SP of Oracle DB returns resultset or cursor?
I have tried in searching the forum perticularly for connecting to Oracle as Sender and below like said that there is a limitation of XI JDBC when connecting to Oracle.

Hi Jilan,
Unlike what was mentioned in the link given by you that oracle returns cursor and not resultset is not completely true. It may be difficult but certainly not impossible.

We have Scenario from JDBC to RFC (ASYNCH).We are using Oracle DB,at the database side we have a stored Procedure and inside the Procedure we are accessing multiple table.
My query is how can we excecute update sql statement a stored procedure by using EXECUTE at the sender JDBC?

If you want the data determined from the Query SQL Statement to remain in the database unchanged after being sent successfully, enter <TEST>.This is recommended if the data has not only been read, but also changed by a stored procedure entered under Query SQL Statement.

JDBC Sender adapter - can VIEW be used in Query statement

In JDBC Sender adapter, can we use a VIEW sql query in the "Query SQL Statement" placeholder?
For eg:
CREATE VIEW <view name> as SELECT * from <table name> WHERE <condition>
instead of the usual:
SELECT * from <table name> WHERE <condition>

What exactly is your use of creating a view, if you are going to fetch data from different tables, then you can use the view through stored procedures.

Store procedure call to fetch data in JDBC sender adapter

Hi guys,
I have to fetch data from a Oracle server through JDBC adpater.
the partner has in place some store procedure that have to be used with this purpose.
But al the time I try to call a store procedure I got error that variables are not binded.
I fill up the query sql statement field with following text
call <store procedure name> (v1 OUT VARCHAR2, v2 in varchar2)
Does anyone know the syntax to access such store procedure within jdbc adapter?
As far as I know the jdbc call the store procedure with Callable statement but the paremeters need to be linked to datatype,but here I do not see such possibility.

A stored procedure is a subroutine available to applications accessing a relational database system. Stored procedures (sometimes called a sproc or SP) are actually stored in the database data dictionary.
Typical uses for stored procedures include data validation (integrated into the database) or access control mechanisms. How to use sql variables in jdbc send adapter??

Hi,
i wanna use a variable in the sql statement in the jdbc send adapter.
i know i can key sql statement in the "Query SQL Statement" in the jdbc send adapter.but i dont know how to use variables in the sql statement.
i mean, for example, the sql statement is "SELECT * FROM t_student WHERE READFLAG = 0", but now i wanna instead of "0"(the value of the READFLAG) using a variable.
and if i can use a variable to replace the "0"(the value of the READFLAG above sql statement), then how can i send a value to the variable??
request help in the regard.
