Also remember that, Sender JDBC Adapter doesnot support Oracle Stored Procedures. Because Sender JDBC Adapter sends resultset to XI. But Oracle stored procedure returns Cursor.
I think, if you are using other database then it may support.

I m working on a SAP R/3 -> XI -> Oracle scenario. Here on receiver side i m using JDBC Adapter in which i m using a stored procedure.
I have my stored procedure in a Package. Example : package "PKG_SPARES_VOR_UPLOAD" and in that stored procedure "pr_spares_vor_po_hdr_upload".
i have checked that if i write this stored procedure outside the package then it works fine... but if i put it into the package then it is giving me error that ....

Hi,
I have the same problem to call a stored Procedure in a Package.
If my procedure is not in a package, everything is right.
And I musn't indicate all the name, because I musn't put '.' in the name (of the procedure), in my DT on XI.
It would be so nice to have an answer.

Calling a Stored Procedure with JDBC Adapter ?

I'm trying to call a Stored Procedure in my XI 3.0 JDBC adapter, but I get an "...invalid number of parameters...." error.
Does anyone have an example of a Query SQL Statement and the corresponding Stored procedure?
This is my test code. Eventually I would like to return a resultsett from the stored procedure.
Query SQL Statement:

you can clear the field key tags mandatory in the XML Schema interpreter parameter and make the Empty string value to Empty string from null value.
For mapping : you can pass a value that is of the same format of date; but you can take your own value in the database since you are parsing the date format from one to other

Invoke stored procedure from JDBC Adapter

Is there a tool that generates interfaces for stored procedure(ORACLE PL/SQL) like RFC or IDOC adapters?

I dont think there is any such tool.]
To generate a Stored Procedure of your Oracle DB, all you will have to do in your <b>JDBC adapter configuration</b> is give the name of the Stored Procedure under <Table> and you will have to give "<b>execute</b>" as the value under action attribute.

Calling Stored Procedure from JDBC Adapter

Hello,
I am Updating a SQL Server Table using JDBC Adapter.
Now I have multiple input rows and the procedure needs to be called for each set.
Do I need to use multimapping for this or just generating multiple <b>Statement</b> node will solve?
Also For this will there is any knows/ forseen problem (like Transaction handling) that I need to take care of?

You can just create multiple statement nodes in one message.
I am not aware of any known or foreseen issues with this approach.

Maybe you can use the DB look up using the JDBC adapter in your mapping.

As for calling an Oracle Strored Procedure, it is possible using a RECEIVER JDBC adapter, but not a SENDER JDBC adapter.

Also, this imported archive should be under any Namespace, but, it should be in the same SWCV as the one in which the mapping is being executed.

Invalid Object when Calling Stored Procedure from JDBC Adapter

JDBC Outbound adapter in XI 2.0 connected to SQL Server. I've coded my mapping to format the XSL mapping properly but the Adapter appears to not be able to find the Stored Procedure. Error message returned is "Invalid Object spStoredProcedureName".
Does anybody have any clue as to what I'm missing???

I know this is trivial, but did you use the "full" name of the SP as <schema>.<procname>???

TimeStamp in Stored Procedure for JDBC adapter

I have a Date Timestamp field (DD/MM/YYYY HH:MM:SS) in my stored procedure (target system), how do I pass an empty value when there is no date coming from the source system.
I am able to send the date field in the format when I get the date timestamp field in the source message but sometimes the date field will be empty in the source message, where in I have a issue to pass to stored procedure.
Error details - java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01830: date format picture ends before converting entire input string ORA-06512: at line 1

Why not to avoid creating the DATE field in the target when the source is empty or not present? Just make a check on the source field....check if it is not-blank and then only create the target node....if the source field is blank then the target wont be created and hence wont be inserted into the DB....check if this works for you.

Creating and calling stored procedure using jdbc

When I try to create and call a stored procedure using JDBC a very confusing error message about non-existence of the procedure just created is thrown. Using Informix database (IDS 10). Any pointers to point out what am doing wrong would be great!

Multiple stored procedures using JDBC Adopter, Synchronous call

Hello Guys,
This is kind of different scenario,
Here is the scenario (SQL Server -> XI -> Legacy)
1.I want to trigger stored procedure (from XI to)
2.Inside the stored procedure we are going to have multiple stored procedures.
-Inside stored procedures
SP1 -> It supposed to select the data from interface control table, if that is success
SP2 -> Call some other stored procedures which can be select/insert/delete from different tables most of the cases it would be select, if that is success
It should give results back (Response) to XI and with some output parameters like (status message, etc)
Next step I want send those results to target system which is legacy. If that is success
Next step I should update entry in the Interface control table(which is in SQL Server) with success entry like (success message, current date, current time, interface name, username.)
If it fails any stage like while selecting data from interface control table which is SP1/ SP2 It should give error message back to XI(output parameters). XI is going to send Alerts/Mails to respective interface owners.
This is my scenario can anybody help me on this what needs to be done to implement this scenario.

Anyway , altimately you are going to call one stored procedure and going to get one output. So it will not be a problem I think.
Anyway it is required to introduce BPM here.

>>>You can make sure that message is recieved by legacy system. Because legacy systems like File systems will not support Application Acknowledgement. So here you can go with Transport Acknowledgement.
From where will get Success messages like (current date etc) are you planning to take XI system date.. If so you can get this. And you can send the message to SQL.

While dealing with Oracle database related scenario. I came across Stored Procedures and Views. Which are complex in nature. Using SAP XI how we can handle them ?
Is JDBC adaptor is capable of that.? Can you help me Data type structure for oracle.
How max occur play important role in that. How to identify root and item level structure for oracle
I am dealing with stored procedures while inserting data. and using views i need to get data from oracle database.
What is the syntax of query we use to put while using JDBC adaptor?
Please help and provide bit detail information over this so that i can execute scenario

Problem with Stored procedure in JDBC Synch scenario

I am working on the scenario which is from HTTP <-> to <-> JDBC. It is a synchronouse scenario. We are using Stored procedure in this scenario.
1) Please send the response structure for it.
2) here when i am sending request to the Database it is giving me below error :

Setting message to status failed.
One of the field in Database stored procedure is of type CLOB. So can you ppl guide me that what might be the solution for this.

Weird Problem calling Stored Procedure using JDBC

Scenario is..
I have J2EE application and calling stored procedure using JDBC.
My application connects to instance "A" of testDB.
Schema "A" does NOT own any packages/procedure but granted execute on oracle packages/procedures that reside in schema "B" of testDB.
In java code I call procedure(proc1) in package(pac1) which internally calls procedure(proc2) in package(pac2).
The problem occurs when procedure pac2.proc2 is modified. After the modification, my java code fails and throws an exception "User-Defined Exception" and I am also getting "ORA-06508: PL/SQL: could not find program unit being called". This clears up only if I bounce the web container. (This doesn't happen if I modify pac1.proc1 and run my application)
Has any one faced this problem? Please suggest if any thing can be changed in jdbc code to fix this problem.

I assume these are PL/SQL packages and that the changes are made at the package specification level?
If so, it looks like you are hitting the PL/SQL dependencies rules. In other words, if the spec of proc2 is changed, then proc1 is invalidated, since proc1 still depends on the old version of proc2's spec. As a result, if you try to run proc1, its spec must either be explicitly rewritten before it could run again or implicitly recompiled first, if the (implicit) recompilation fails, it won’t run.

Compile Stored Procedure using JDBC ?

I am using JDBC thin driver and able to create stored procedure without any problem.
But if the stored procedure is invalid, it
won't throw SQLException during creation.
Is there any way that I can compile the
stored procedure and catch the semantic exception during creation ?

The only thing that springs to mind is the user_errors view. If the procedure fails to compile, then there will be rows in this view indicating the error ..... so maybe you could use
select count(*) from user_errors
and check from Java that 0 is returned.

Before you post review the Oracle Database Java Developer's Guide - it shows how to create Java stored procedures and has example code
