Storing of JMS ConnectionFactory in JNDI works Intermittently

I am saving my JMX ConnectionFactory (currently using an ActiveMQConnectionFactory) using JNDI. I am doing this so that the JMS server can be changed by simply replacing the stored ConnectionFactory object in JNDI all my applications can be switched to a new JMS server. My JNDI is currently backed by and LDAP Server (OpenDS). This all seems to work just fine, most of the time. I am running multiple applications on multiple oc4j servers on multiple computers and they all can get the correct ConnectionFactory and connect to the messaging system. My problem is that I am exposing properties from this JNDI server using JMX. When I invoke a method from the MBean browser in the OC4J Application Server Control that tries to access the Connection Factory through JNDI, I get an error that the object returned could not be cast to a ConnectionFactory. All of my other code seems to work. In fact, when I run standalone test code I can call the exact same method directly and it works. I just appears to happen when called through I assume and JMX invoke. What am I missing? Thanks for any light you can shed on this problem.

Yes, it is a separate application running under the same instance of the JVM (the OC4J container). I agree that the class is probably not being recognized by the classloader for the "OC4j Application Server Control" application, but can't figure out how to successfully include the relevant jar in the classpath of this classloader. Because of this I am not able to verify this correct nor fix the problem. I am wading through the Oracle documentation now to try and figure out where the jar belongs and if I need to change any configuration files.

    Hello,
    I hope I am posting this in the right place, if not please forgiv and point me to the right place.
    Yesterday we did a live upgrade on a system that is running WebLogic 9.2, OSM 6.3.1 and Oracle DB 10.2.0.2, those applications are on a seperate system slice, we did a complete upgrade from Solaris 10/9 (update 6) to the latest Solaris 8/11 (update 10), on SPARC. After the upgrade everything was working and applications are able to start, but weblogic server is spewing the following error message:

    we went back and activated Solaris update 8, and we still got that problem. The requests that the clients that connect via OSM frontend application that communicates with WebLogic arent being processed.
    The oracle db is working and listening to port 1521, I can connect to it and can connect with the user defined in the WebLogic connection pool.
    This is the first time working on this system, the application and integration was done by someone else who are not available to help us out, I hope someone here on the forum will be able to help us out with this problem.
    Regards,
    Omar

    Often ConnectionFactory errors are caused by an inability to connect with the database hosting the OSM schema and user.
    Check the database and make sure that both it and its listener are accepting connections. If that is ok you can also check the oms_pool configuration in WebLogic. Make sure the JNDI connection is valid. In my environments I see that DHCP often screws things up. If I install OSM on a host that has a DHCP assigned address (I'm guilty of being lazy when working in VMs and not statically assigning IP addresses) I often break the JNDI when I reboot the VM and get a new IP.
    In WebLogic Admin Console:
    Domain > Services > JDBC >Connection Pool > URL
    and make sure the JDBC connection string is correct.

  • Hyperlinks to XLS, DOC, and PDF files that are included in a .chm file work intermittently.

    SUMMARY
    Hyperlinks to XLS, DOC, and PDF files that are included in a
    .chm file (and the Baggage Files) only work intermittently. The
    only solution appears to be deleting the Temporary Internet Files.
    PROBLEM
    1. I place the XLS, DOC, or PDF file in the Windows
    sub-directory that corresponds to the RoboHelp project sub-folder
    where the topic in which I’ll place the hyperlink exists.
    2. I open the help project in RoboHelp HTML.
    3. I right-click on the project’s Baggage Files
    sub-folder that corresponds to the Windows sub-directory in which I
    placed the XLS, DOC, or PDF file (in step 1).
    4. I import the XLS, DOC, or PDF file.
    5. I open the topic in which I’m going to place the
    hyperlink in the WYSIWYG editor.
    6. I “drag and drop” the Baggage File into the
    topic (in the WYSIWYG editor) to create a link to it.
    7. I save the changes and then generate HTML (.chm) help.
    8. I open the .chm file and click the hyperlink. The XLS,
    DOC, or PDF file may or may not open.
    9. When the hyperlink works correctly, for DOC and XLS files,
    a “File Download – Security Warning” dialog box
    appears asking, “Do you want to open or save this
    file?”. The buttons that are available are
    “Open”, “Save”, and “Cancel”.
    These buttons work then as one would expect. (When the hyperlink
    works correctly for a PDF file, it simply opens the PDF file in a
    new window; there’s no prompt to save, open, or cancel.)
    10. When a hyperlink does NOT work, for DOC, XLS, and PDF
    files, no dialog box or other visual message is displayed. Instead,
    the sound that is associated with the “Exclamation”
    program event is played (the “Windows XP
    Exclamation.wav” file is the WinXP default).
    Other Notes:
    - The hyperlinks ALWAYS work when I view a topic using the
    “View Selected Item” function (Ctrl+W) in the RoboHelp
    HTML project.
    - Once a hyperlink stops working, it will not start working
    again until I delete all the Temporary Internet Files.
    - A hyperlink will stop working even if Internet Explorer
    (iexplore.exe) is closed the entire time.
    WORKAROUND
    Through trial and error, I have discovered that if a
    hyperlink stops working, I can get it to work again using the
    following steps:
    1. Leave the .chm file open.
    2. Open Internet Explorer.
    3. Click Tools>Internet Options….
    4. From the “Internet Options” dialog box, select
    the “General” tab.
    5. Under the “Temporary Internet Files” section,
    click the “Delete Files…” button.
    6. From the “Delete Files” dialog box, select
    “Delete all offline content” and then click
    “OK”. The files are deleted and the “Delete
    Files” dialog box closes.
    7. Click “OK” to close the “Internet
    Options” dialog box.
    8. Without closing Internet Explorer and without re-starting
    the .chm file, all the hyperlinks that didn’t work before
    will now work.

    Today is 12/18/06 so the only program file that is listed as
    having been “Last Accessed” today is the
    “Shockwave Flash Object”.
    REQUEST FOR HELP
    I really want to include certain PDF, DOC, and XLS files in
    their native format in a .chm file. However, I need a better
    solution to my problem than the one I discovered. What I really
    want is to avoid the entire problem altogether.
    Have anyone seen this before or have any suggestions?

  • JMS-send operation not working in a SessionBean [OC4J10.1.3.1.0-standalone]

    Salut,
    i am envisaged with a nasty problem calling a message-send operation from
    a method (transaction-type="required") inside a session bean (transaction-type="container").
    This problem occured in OC4J 10.1.3.1 and may fail also in 10.1.3.0. The same
    code run under OC4J 10.1.2.x without any problems.
    The adressed JMS type is a OEMS JMS and fails to work regardless if the JMS ressource
    is using a file-persistence or is running in-memory. Anyway the factory is a
    jms/XAQueueConnectionFactory, so the created queue must support XA transactions.
    Another test with an advanced-queue JMS provider succeeded.
    As a consequence of this, i believe that the OEMS provider shall cause the problem.
    The original code is quite unspectaculary:
    * The non-surprising thing is, that the QueueConnectionFactory
    * is a XAQueueConnectionFactory.
    QueueConnectionFactory qcf = (QueueConnectionFactory) (jndiContext.lookup(MY_QFAC));
    Queue q = (Queue) (new InitialContext().lookup(MY_QUE));
    c = qcf.createQueueConnection() ;
    QueueSession s = c.createQueueSession(false, Session.AUTO_ACKNOWLEDGE);
    [... create a message ]
    QueueSender qs = s.createSender(q)
    qs.send(m);
    qs.close()
    s.close();
    c.close()
    The funny thing is, that the queue-session behaves as it is working outside
    of a transaction context. Inside the JMX-Console you will notice the
    arrival of a message and ... a cancellation of it. This would not surprise
    me, if this code sequence would have been called outside of
    a Session bean, cause the absence of a queue-session.commit does not
    fix the send message in the jms ressource.
    As a matter of fact the code is executed inside a Session bean and
    the connection.createQueueSession will notice this and forget both
    given parameters, and let the covering transaction take over of the
    JMS ressource. But this does not happen (completly).
    The acknowledge-mode has been modified (SESSION_TRANSACTED)
    but the code still does not work!
    After i recognized that the enlist-ment did not work, i
    decided to enfore the use of XA transaction by using the
    XA classes and methods of JMS.
    I startet to cast the jndi-references and:
    XAQueueConnectionFactory qcf = (XAQueueConnectionFactory) (jndiContext.lookup(MY_QFAC));
    Queue q = (Queue) (new InitialContext().lookup(MY_QUE));
    XAQueueConnection c = qcf.createXAQueueConnection() ;
    XAQueueSession s = c.createXAQueueSession();
    [... create a message ]
    QueueSender qs = s.createSender(q)
    qs.send(m);
    qs.close()
    s.close();
    c.close()
    The funny thing is ... the code worked without any problem until
    the send operation, where i received an JMSException, containing
    the text:
    Oc4jJMS.Session.hpcl057.4e9c06e4:1112674930d:-7fff.41,true,SESSION_TRANSACTED]: An attempt was made to perform work in a XA-backed session without being enlisted. Either the session must be enlisted (using the JMS Connector or JMS Adapter) to participate in the global transaction, or a non-XA connection and a non-XA session should be used to not participate in the global transaction.
    How bizarre, i thought the enlistment has been taken place by invoking
    the c.createXAQueueSession or c.createQueueSession(false, Session.AUTO_ACKNOWLEDGE);
    How bizarre how bizarre
    any clues ????

    OC4J JMS was changed to not auto-enlist in XA transactions.
    In releases prior to 10.1.3 XA usage was not actually supported. (It did not meet all of the XA requirements when used with OC4J.)
    Auto-enlisting by the JMS provider was also a spec violation, which was causing trouble for people who needed to do out-of-transaction work and had no way to do it.
    In 10.1.3 XA usage is fully supported, but only when you use the JMS Connector. You can find the JMS Connector ("Oracle's Generic JMS Resource Adapter") demos here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/java/oc4j/1013/how_to/index.html#JMS
    The JMS Connector is documented in the OC4J Services Guide, OEMS/JMS chapter.

  • What is the best way to keep my personal files stored in iCloud separate from my work-related files?

    What is the best way to keep my personal files stored in iCloud separate from my work-related files? It seems that I'm not allowed to link my iPad mini and my work iMac using two different accounts, so I'm wondering how to make my single personal account work for both, while keeping personal vs work files reasonably separated.
    Thanks for any suggestions.

    Is it possible for you to upgrade your account to iCloud Drive? That would mean, all Macs upgraded to Yosemite, and all mobile devices to iOS8?
    See:  iCloud Drive FAQ and iCloud: About using iWork for iOS and iCloud
    In iCloud Drive you could create two separate custom folders, one for work documents and one for private documents and organize your documents there.  Don't use the app specific folders (Keynote, Pages, Numbers, ...) , because you can only create one level of folders inside these folders.

  • USB Ports work Intermittantly on Pavilion Notebook

    I have a HP Pavilion dv7-2270us Entertainment Notebook PC that is running Windows 7. The USB ports seem to work intermittantly. There are two regular USB ports on the left hand side and one on the right. I have an iPhone, Adidas miCoach, and wireless mouse that I usually have plugged in, and lately nothing is recognized.
    Sometimes I get an error that the USB device is not recognized, sometimes I get nothing at all as though the ports aren't even there.
    I have tried taking out the battery, replacing and rebooting. I have also tried uninstalling the USB Root Hub, and then the Root Hub plus controllers. When I did this it seemed like it worked - I plugged my mouse in and it worked! I plugged my iPhone in and now nothing works again.
    I have Norton 360 Installed (in case that is an issue), and I also have some old Sony Ericksson software that I've recently uninstalled because someone told me that it wreaked havoc on their machine in terms of their device drivers.
    The laptop is just out of warranty (Dec 2010) so this is a relatively new machine. But I love all my gadgets and need to be able to use them all!

    Right Click on all devices which are recognized as unknown and Choose Uninstall one by one.
    Please ensure you also do this for any and every item under Universal serial bus controllers as well. After this restart your computer and you should be good to go.

  • XI to IBM Websphere Default JMS Provider with JNDI

    Hello everybody!
    We face a problem with connecting SAP XI to IBM WebSphere Default JMS Provider (need to send a message from XI to WebSphere JMS and receive the response).
    We have the following versions installed:
        SAP XI: 7.0 SP8 , Sun JDK 1.4.2
        IBM WebSphere: IBM WebSphere Application Server ND, 6.0.2.17, J2RE 1.4.2 IBM
    We cannot set the JMS adapter of SAP XI for conecting with IBM WebSphere Default JMS Provider. The Communication Channel has erroneous state (at runtime) and the Communication Channel Monitoring tool displays the error message as described below (under "Variant 1" and "Variant 2" sub-headings) depending on the settings performed.
    For connecting, the following JMS-provider settings were used at IBM WebSphere side:
       JMS Providers: Default Messaging Provider
       Queue Connection Factories: name:QueueConnectionFactory, jndi:jms/QueueConnectionFactory, provider: Default Messaging Provider
       Queues: name Queue, jndi: jms/Queue, provider: Default Messaging Provider
    The XI communication channel (and associated JMS-adapter) was set as Variants 1 and 2 show. Settings for both cases and received error messages were the following:
    <b>Variant 1.</b>
        Adapter type: JMS
        Type: Receiver
        JMS Provider: Access JMS Provider with JNDI (Java Naming and Directory Interface)
        JNDI Lookup Name of QueueConnectionFactory:  jms/QueueConnectionFactory
        JNDI Lookup Name of JMS Queue: jms/Queue
        Name of JNDI Initial Context Factory: com.sap.engine.services.jndi.InitialContextFactoryImpl
        JNDI Server Address: iiop://WEBSPHERE.HOST:2809/
        As the result, the Communication Channel Monitoring displays that the channel has erroneous state and the following error message is written:
        "Error during channel initialization; exception trace: com.sap.engine.services.jndi.persistent.exceptions.NameNotFoundException: Object not found in lookup of jms/QueueConnectionFactory.
    at com.sap.engine.services.jndi.implserver.ServerContextImpl.lookup(ServerContextImpl.java:649)"
    <b>Variant 2</b>
        The same settings as in Variant 1 above, were used and additionally the following settings were done:
        - Name of JNDI Initial Context Factory: com.ibm.websphere.naming.WsnInitialContextFactory
        - The archive aii_af_jmsproviderlib.sda containing libraries required by WsInitialContextFactory, was deployed to the SAP WebAS where the XI is running. Those libraries were taken from WebSphere Application Server Pluggable Application Client installation package (described in the article "WebSphere Application Server Pluggable Application Client" located at http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/websphere/library/techarticles/0409_bhogal/0409_bhogal.html)
        - Also, as it is recommended in the referred article, the files required by IBM's iiop protocol (ibmext.jar ibmorb.jar ibmorbapi.jar) were put to the folder jre/lib/endorsed of the server(Sun JVM 1.4.2 is used by SAP WebAS / XI).
        As the result, the Communication Channel Monitoring displays that the channel has erroneous state as well and the following error message is written:
       "No adapter registered for this channel"
    We have not found the recommended solution either in SDN forums or in Internet in general. Is it yet possible to connect SAP XI to IBM WebSphere Default JMS Provider having mentioned product versioning? If yes, what settings have to be performed?

    IBM Websphere Default JMS Provider which is installed alongwith the application server is nothing but a scaled down version of the IBM WebSphere MQSeries. you should be able to connect to it with the same settings that can be used for a separate MQSeries server connectivity from XI.

  • Sender HTTP Adapter working intermittently

    HI ,
    My scenarios is HTTP->XI.>ECC,
    Sender HTTP Adapter is working intermittently some times data is not reaching to XI though it sent successfully from Source.
    We are unable to find the logs in XI where this data went.
    This interface is working fine in PI 7.1 and now in migration to PI 7.3 ( have Two application server dispatcher model) this interface is working intermittently .
    Please provide any inputs on this intermittent issue for sender HTTP adapter.
    Data sent successfully from source side and no message is received to XI MONI. Please guide me where can I check for the logs and error details

    Hi Krishna,
    If your PI is dual stack and you are not using the http_aae you can trace the http in the ABAP stack. Go to smicm transaction and set the trace level to 2 or 3.
    In Quality system you can talk with your sender client in order to prepare a set of requests in oder to find out if the requests are reaching to PI or not and what exception could be.
    hope this helps.
    Regards.

  • Administering AQ JMS objects in JNDI

    I had used several JMS providers before like MQ and Tibco but I'm new to Oracle AQ.
    I'm trying to write a JMS client program which lookups a connection factory and a destination from a JNDI context, and then create a session and publish JMS messages.
    However, I cannot find a way to register JMS objects in JNDI. The sample programs provided by Oracle use a JMS session to create destination objects, which means they're not portable to other messaging system.
    Questions:
    1. Is there a way to administrate JMS objects in JNDI context in version 8.1.7?
    2. I did search the forum and it seems like looking up JMS objects from JNDI is available on Oracle 9i. Is that true? And what administration tool am I supposed to use?
    Thanks,
    Andy

    Hi,
    I am not sure with OSB. I never seen the face of it. But when you say you are not able to see the subscriber in the table then you cannot consume the message.
    Can quickly create AQJMS adapter service in bpel and select your topic and deploy the service in SOA server. Once it deploy go to the aq$my_topic1_s check if you able to see or not. And also try de-queue a message from the same topic.
    I am using JMS Transport for Proxy Service and i have enabled the durable subscriber option as well. Please tell me how the entries in the subscribers table gets added.
    You no need to do any thing. Just deploy your service and after that you should able to see record in the table. If record is not created then connection is not established between Topic and your service.
    I have doubt with the endpoints only
    jms://localhost:8011/aqjms.XATopicConnectionFactory/AqTopic
    Your JNDI name for connection factories given as aqjms/XATopicConnectionFactory and here its aqjms.XATopicConnectionFactory. Can you check it.
    Apart of this everthing looks same. Try above and let us know it.
    Regards,
    Tarak.
