  • Calling IPC from a third party web application

    ISA, IPC experts,
    We have CRM 4.0 with IPC 4.0. We are developing an in house web application  in jsp/java for dealer orders. Our office staff uses CRM Online for Order Entry.
    We want to use the existing pricing procedures in the IPC to derive the pricing for the web project so our user can see the price for a given product prior to placing the order in CRM.
    How can we call IPC from a third party order software in java? prefereably without installing a standalone IPC (heard that IPC 5.0 may not support standalone mode)?
    Can you help us with ways to call the IPC from our in house web application, or point us to some documentation about the ipc client layer?
    Your help in this regard is highly appreciated.
    Yanhui Yu

    Hi Yanjui,
    if you have a CRM installation, an IPC is part of that installation. Connect your web application to that IPC. The IPC comes with its own web applications, which base on a package com.sap.spc.remote.client.object. These are APIs that you might consider using in your web application. The package should be documented with the API docs that come with your web apps, but I'm not sure about how this is delivered (sorry).
    Concerning upgradability to CRM 5.0: The IPC there does not come as its own server anymore, but offers ABAP RFC functions that are actually implemented in Java using new Netweaver technology. The 5.0 RFCs are similar, but not identical to the old IPC commands / RFCs, so an upgrade is no problem, but some changes are required. The same applies for com.sap.spc.remote.client.object, which has changed a bit as a result of the changes in the IPC APIs below.
    Alternatively to using com.sap.spc.remote.client.object, you might also try to directly call the RFC functions of the IPC server. Finding out what the various parameters that you have to pass do is not too tricky:
    - in your IPC installation, a file <ipc>/lib/properties/servercommands.xml contains all RFCs that the IPC knows.
    - for the RFC you want to use check the respective javaname in that file.
    - for that javaname check class com.sap.spc.remote.server.command.<javaname> in the javadoc API Documentation that is part of your IPC installation. This will contain rather technical details on how to call the RFCs.
    Please be aware that it's not an easy job providing all the data that IPC needs to do pricing.
    I would recommend using the E-Commerce application which has done this job for you already.

  • Call Web Applications from Xcelsius using LiveOffice connections

    Hi,
    I have read the HTG: "How To... Call BEx Web Applications from SAP BusinessObjects Dashboards (Xcelsius) and vice versa" here on SDN. Problem is that it is using BW Connection as connection.
    Is it be possible to call web applications using Live Office connections?
    Br,
    Sonni

    Hi Sonni,
    If you are building dashboard using live office connection and you want to give a drill down to detailed webi or crystal report, you can use Open document interface. In the particular HTG you have mentioned, Open document approach is not possible because dashboard is based on SAP BW. Since you are using live office, i guess you have the source report published  in BOE and you can use open document approach here.
    If this is not your requirement please mention your exact requirement.
    Hope it helps you.

    Thanks in advance...

    Hi,
    you need to register libraries with th OC4J configuration files. However, you can also deploy the Struts library with you application (see OC4J documentation which is accessible on OTN via Oracle As documentation), in which case they are available from the application classpath

  • Faults in BPEL when invoked from a Custom built Web Application

    Hello there,
    I have developed a BPEL flow for a HealthCare demo and it works fine and all is well when it is invoked from the BPEL Console's initiate screen.
    I developed a webapplication to invoke the same (using the regular com.collaxa api for invokation of any BPEL process). It invokes the BPEL successfully and I can see the whole Payload in the 'receiveInput' section of the BPEL Flow. But the very First 'Assign' in which i just assign a text string as a default value to an input element faults out stating that the 'to' field is a 'zero node'... The assign stage also shows the payload with all values in it. But it errors out...

  • How to transfer username when calling web service from PI?

    Hi
    I have a scenario where a front end application is calling a web service exposed by PI 7.11 and PI is forwarding the call to the backend web service. That is, a SOAP sender adapter and a soap receiver adapter.
    Now, I would like to transfer the username, which the PI exposed web service is called with, to the backend web service.
    I previously did this by using a UDF where I picked up the username like this and mapped the username to a field in the request message when calling the backend web service:
    DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) container.getTransformationParameters().get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    DynamicConfigurationKey key = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/SOAP", "SRemoteUser");
    String WSuser = conf.get(key);
    return WSuser;
    However, I would like to avoid this method and in stead e.g. use either a query string like http://xxxxx:6571/ISBWS/soap/ISBCore?username=mikael or maybe transfer the username in the http header in some way.
    So my question is: what are my options and how do I set it up?
    BR MIkael

    Apparenty sending user name details in query string  is not best practice in webservice. Thats why WSDL does not cover user credentials inside. Webservice deals with message level security , transport level security, encryption , certificate authentication , username token etc
    If you want to use http query string in the soap receiver target url try as below and see how that helps... somthing as below..
    example:  http://host:port/jsppage?userid=test  or use  xslt mapping or java mapping create soap header as you want and specify username over there.

  • Calling code when a web application is undeployed

    My understanding is that you can use load-on-startup to run a servlet
              when you deploy a web application. I want to do the opposite - run
              some code right before a web application is un-deployed. I want to
              have the web application load some configuration-type information into
              a singleton when it is deployed, but then have it unload it when it is
              undeployed. Anybody know how to do this?
              Thanks,
              <>< gary

    Same thing - load-on-startup servlet. init() will be called when app
              is deployed and destroy() when it is undeployed.
              If you use 6.1 which supports Servlet 2.3 you can use ServletContextListener
              instead of load-on-startup servlet and use contextInitialized() and
              contextDestroyed() callbacks.

  • Calling web applications from another web application

    Hi everyone,
    I direly need your suggestions on how to implement the following requirements:
    I have a web application (i.e. App A). Then I have other web applications (i.e. App B, App C, App D, etc.) .
    For each of the other apps (App B, App C, App D), I need to have 2 variable/attribute settings whose values are to be set (pre-defined) per user.
    Meaning one user's values are different from another user.
    In App A, I need to call App B, App C, & App D one by one to get the values of the 2 variables/attributes for a particular user accessing App A.
    How should I implement this whole scenario such that I can set the values for 2 variables/attributes in App B, C, & D on a per user basis?
    Please help me get ideas on what methods or work-arounds to implement in order to achieve this.
    Thanks.

    Assuming this is running on a server, how about placing your data in application scope?
    All applications have access to it. Just make sure every object put in application scope is uniquely named
    and that your other application knows its name. One suggestion is to put a collection object (such as a List) in application scope and add items to it. This way, every application will know the collector's name. They can then search through the collection for any object addressed to itself. Just make sure you send data into and out of the collection in a thread safe way. such as by synchronization.
    Here is an example of an object that you can store in the collection:
    MessageObject{
    String fromApplication;
    String toApplication;
    String message;
    }

  • JAX-WS client error when calling web method

    My JAX-WS client is getting the following error when calling a web method:
    Exception in thread "main" javax.xml.ws.WebServiceException:
    No Content-type in the header!
    I'm using Eclipse as my development environment. I use the CXF facet to generate a WSDL from Java code. I then use the New -> Web Service Client to generate client side code from the WSDL.
    The following fully describes my environment:
    Windows XP
    JDK 1.6.0_22
    Java EE 6
    Eclipse Helios
    Apache CXF 2.3.0 (runtime)
    Tomcat 6.0
    I have found several post on the net that describe this problem and a solution for JBoss, but I have been unable to find anything that addresses this error on Tomcat.
    I can provide source code if needed. The app is a simple Hello World web service. I'm using it to try and get familiar with developing web services with all the components listed above.
    Thanks

    Hi Anders,
    The resolution of the crossdomain problem is not to store an cross-domain-policy file at the [SAP] webservice side; but instead it needs to be done at the (every...) webservice client. In case the client is an IIS based webapplication (and thus the ultimate end-users are accessing it via their browser), this is not such an issue. It there is sufficient to put an crossdomain.xml policy file in the IIS main virtual root of your 'client' .net webapplication (c:\inetpub\wwwroot). It also can be required or at least helpful to put a clientaccesspolicy.xml file; both at the main virtual root and in the virtual root of the specific webapplication
    In case of SharePoint application, the crossdomain.xml file must be stored in the WSS virtual root of that site; c:\inetpub\wwwroot\wss\virtualdirectories\<your SharePoint webapp>
    Best regards, William.

    Hi Iron34,
    Looks like the SharePoint Foundation Sandboxed Code Service is having an issue.  You could see if the SharePoint 2010 User Code Host Service is enabled via services.msc, and then either disable it, or go to Manage Services on Server under system settings
    and turn off Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Sandboxed Code Service, if you're not concerned with containing user solutions, and then give the deployment another run.
    if the issue persists, adjust >

  • Got 404 erro when open Web application

    I create a web application: http://webapp.com
    and created some site collections:
    http://webapp.com
    http://webapp.com/it
    http://webapp.com/hr
    but I got 404 error when open  "http://webapp.com" ;
    and got the below error when open "http://webapp.com/it" or "http://webapp.com/hr" :
    Something went wrong
    Technical Details
    SharePoint returned the following error: Invalid URI: The URI is empty. Contact your system administrator for help in resolving this problem.
    Anybody know what's wrong? Thanks in advance.
    Awen

    Hi Awen,
    According to your description, my understanding is that the error occurred when you accessed the newly created site collection.
    From your post, I can see that you created host header for the web application.
    I recommend to verify the things below:
    Please check the AAM for your web application, make sure the "Internal URL" and  "public URL for Zone" both are your host name URL in Default zone.
    Please check the SharePoint site bindings from IIS manager, make sure the host name is the same.
    Add the host name and IP in your client hosts file under drivers folder, and make sure you can ping the host name successfully.
    Access your SharePoint site collection through your host name in IE browser.
    If access denied after login (may 3 times login pop up), you can disable the loopback check, then test again.

  • "Missing port information" when calling web service

    I have implemented a web service that works fine as long as I use primitive types as arguments and return types, but when I add a method that takes a user-defined class as an argument, I receive the following error when calling any of the methods in the web service:
    [java] java.rmi.RemoteException: received fault: "Missing port information"
    (code: "Server" namespace: "http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"); nested
    exception is:

    [java] java.rmi.RemoteException: received fault: "Missing port information"

    exception is:

    [java] at qsws.WSClient.main(Unknown Source)
    The class I pass as an argument implements Serializable and a user-defined interface and it has two public member variables (int and String).
    Anyone know why I receive this error?
    /Magnus

    I am also seeing this same error. I have rebuilt and redeployed the service several times, but am still stuck getting this error. Strangely enough, the Tomcat server where the service is hosted is not reporting this type of error. Instead, it is recording an error 500 (Server Internal Error) each time I try to execute one of my services. I trimmed out the meat of the service and configured it so that it would echo the input parameters to the output (they are actually in/out params) but even this reduced configuration gives an error 500. I am inclined to suspect my deployment, but I have checked it several times against the examples.
    Anyone else see the error 500 reported as missing port information?

  • TimeoutException - when calling web services method that opens a PDF

    I am updating a legacy program which uses Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional.  The idea is that the client will call web service methods, which handle opening a PDF, reading from or writing to the PDF, saving if necessary, and closing.  It then returns the data (if reading) to the client.
    The only issue with this that I'm having is that the client will pause for about 60 seconds, and throw a TimeoutException.
    I know that the method on the web services end is working, because I wrote a quick driver which calls the very same method, but it executes normally, and works perfectly.
    My question is basically, is there anything that would cause the client to hang/freeze when calling the web services method to do this task? Everything is running on my workstation, and I've debugged to see that the filename being passed is the same in both tests.
    Thanks!

    Thank you, I somehow missed seeing that subforum. I reposted it in that forum instead. This thread can be deleted/closed. Thanks!

  • Communication error when calling web service for checkin and checkout files

    Hello,
    I am trying to checkout  and also to checkin files within the DMS via web service. The files are stored in the VAULT (=TRESOR) without the data server parth and DVA computer.
    For checkout:
    Original zum Ändern auschecken
      CALL FUNCTION 'BAPI_DOCUMENT_CHECKOUTMODIFY2'
        EXPORTING
          documenttype    = pi_documenttype
          documentnumber  = pi_documentnumber
          documentpart    = pi_documentpart
          documentversion = pi_documentversion
          documentfile    = lf_documentfiles
          pf_http_dest    = ''
          pf_ftp_dest     = ''
        statusextern    = lf_status
        IMPORTING
          return          = lf_return
          checkedoutfile  = ls_checkedoutfile.
    and for checkin:
    Dokument einchecken
      CALL FUNCTION 'BAPI_DOCUMENT_CHECKIN2'
        EXPORTING
          documenttype    = pi_documenttype
          documentnumber  = pi_documentnumber
          documentpart    = pi_documentpart
          documentversion = pi_documentversion
          hostname        = ''
          statusintern    = ''
       statusextern    = lf_status
          statuslog       = ''
        IMPORTING
          return          = lf_return
        TABLES
          documentfiles   = lt_files.
    But it is not working cause I always get a 'communication error' from the function CV120_FTP_START_REG_SERVER when calling one of these BAPIs via web service:
    IF pf_check_gui = 'X'.
        CLEAR: gf_gui_exist,
               gf_gui_checked.
        CALL FUNCTION 'RFC_PING'
             DESTINATION 'SAPGUI'
             EXCEPTIONS: communication_failure = 1 MESSAGE lf_msg_text
                         system_failure        = 2 MESSAGE lf_msg_text.
        IF sy-subrc = 0.
          gf_gui_exist = 'X'.
        ELSE.
          CLEAR gf_gui_exist.
        ENDIF.
        gf_gui_checked = 'X'.
      ENDIF.
    Afterwards the following function is called where I got the error 'Program no longer started via RFC. No return possible.':
    -> Vault with DVA -> ** Start FTP on the client
      CALL FUNCTION 'SYSTEM_START_REG_SERVER'
           EXPORTING: progname    = 'sapftp'
                      startmode   = ''                          " X
                      exclusiv    = 'Y'
                      waittime    = 500
                      startcomp   = 'C'    " G=gui, C=RFC
                      startpara   = ' '
          IMPORTING: err_code    = lf_errno
                     err_mess    = lf_error_msg
                     destination = pfx_destination.
    Regards
    Jens

    Hi! As mentioned below I had the same problem.
    There are two notes concerning security setting of the SAP Gateway:
    1069911 - GW: Changes to the ACL list of the gateway (reginfo)
    1480644 -  gw/acl_mode versus gw/reg_no_conn_info
    Your basis team should check if the Gateway settings allow external programs to register on the gateway.
    Best regards
    Dominik
