Strange behavior when creating a document with an "html" node
A strange thing is happening here. I'm using the javax.xml.transform.Transformer to save some XML documents. I can create documents with any arbitrary DOM tree I want, but if I have the root node have a name of "html". somehow the Transformer decides to apply its own HTML rules and handles it differently from all other document types. The problem is that its html-specific rules are not what I want. Specifically, it is doing things like outputting <br> instead of
, putting in meta-equiv tags that I don't want, etc. This is all bad because I'm not writing HTML. I'm writing carrier-specific mobile xhtml documents and I don't want the javax.xml.transform.Transformer to be "helping" me out any.
There must be some way to get this under control. Can anyone advise me?

I think I solved the problem: I need to put this line in:
transformer.setOutputProperty(OutputKeys.METHOD, "xml");and that does the trick, and forces it to not get fancy when it's outputting <html>. I suppose there's a way of setting that in the TransformerFactory so I don't have to set it in every individual transformer I create but that's a minor issue.

Strang behavior when creating folders
Hi all!
Ever since I went from my old tower with Snow Leopard to a new 12-core running Lion this summer, Logic has been acting strangely when I'm trying to create a new folder in the Save As... dialog window. The normal behavior would be that you end up in the new folder after creating it, while I'm now endig up in the root folder every time. Are anyone else experiencing this? It seems to be happening only in Logic.
GingeYes, I'm experiencing this. Once you've created a folder you then have to go back and direct Logic to that folder before saving. Otherwise it jumps back to the root and will make another folder there thinking that there's no new folder.
No idea why but this is happening, but it started on my recent Macbook Pro upgrade too. -
Strange behavior when using servlet filter with simple index.htm
I am new to J2EE development so please tolerate my ignorance. I have a web application that starts with a simple index.htm file. I am using a servlet filter throughout the website to check for session timeout, redirecting the user to a session expiration page if the session has timed out. When I do something as simple as loading the index.htm page in the browser, the .css file and one image file that are associated, or referenced in the file are somehow corrupted and not being rendered. How do I get the filter to ignore css and image files??? Thank you!!

Strange behavior when I try to match a mpeg2 video with the menu size image
hello all,
got a strange behavior when I try to match a mpeg2 video with the menu size image,
menu size is 1920 x 1080 (photoshop file)
mpeg2 video 1920 x 1080 (1second 19 frames)
the idea is to go from the menu link to the next sub menu with a video as transition, using the same image on the video as the menu and then zooming in (in my case through a door) to end up after the zoom in the next level menu.
I try to achieve a smooth change from the first play menu picture to the video image into the next level menu picture,
everything works good but when I watch it on the preview mode on the left and right side of the video it shows a black bar at least 15 to 25 pixel wide, that means the video image appears smaller and it causes a little jump what is preety disturbing and can not be sold as a professional work.
why encore treats the video size and picture differently?

I'm having a very similar problem with Encore. My menu items are distorting (a minor but infuriating squashing top and bottom) when previewed.
Using Encore,PS,AE CS4
DVD format SD PAL DV widescreen
I created 3 menu frameworks and 3 video transistions to link them in AE. On the final frame of each transistion in AE I saved the frame with Composition>Save Frame to> Photoshop Layers. In PS i added the button functionality and saved.
In Encore I use Dynamic link to import AE transistions as timelines and imported each PS menu twice, once as "menu" and once as an asset.
When I link the timeline transistions to the menu and preview at the point the menu begins the whole image is squashed. When the next transistion is activated the image returns to its original size.
Thinking it was the use of PS that was causing the menus to distort I used the menu asset directly in the time line. Obviously no menu functionality but also no distortion. The AE transistion flowed straight into the "menu" just as I expected.
In the properties panel the menu Aspect Ratio 16:9
The AE transistions PAR is SD PALwidescreen 1.4587.
I did try the Blu Ray suggestion above but the same distortion was apparent.
Any suggestions short of squashing the video to match the menu would be welcomed.

Create custom document with wrong size
Hi,
I have a problem (on Sun Solaris 5.8) when I create custom document with more than 10MB size.
I've created an agent which detects the events on a custom data type
MYDOCUMENT (extension .mydoc).
When I put a new document test1.mydoc (size of 10MB for example), my agent detects the new document, creates a copy, sets the class object to
MYDOCUMENT , removes the original document and puts the copy into the same folder.
But sometimes, the copy created has a wrong size (less then 10MB).
How can I configure the nfs server to be sure that the agent waits for the complete size of the added document.
I need HELP !!!!

CREATE SD document with characteristics - BAPICUVAL / E1CUVAL problem

I am trying to create SD document with material characteristic. I can create single value characteristic, but when I am trying to post interval characteristic, just lower interval is saved and upper one is ignored.
I use BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2. For example:

Characteristic is not set properly (510-2100mm), just 510mm is set. How should I call it properly? Should I fill also some another tables? Is there some documentation? Can be there some bug in SAP standard?

my values are definitely ok. When you post 100 its same as 100,00 :).
When I want to post just one value, for example 100 it works well. When you want to post interval values, for example 100 u2013 500, its just post the first one.
I debug standard code behind this and its look like, that there is no way to write interval and this "bug" is standard feature - the upper level of interval is cut by ABAP code.
In past I also checked how is system filling BAPICUVAL structure. When I fill this structure with same values and run it in my BAPI its doesnu2019t work, because its processed like iDoc.
So the conclusion is, that it is not possible to write intervals right now from external source, just from the inside of SAP standard transactions.
So, I decided to close this thread. -

I think you have to set the query specification for the data provider you created. If you don't, no object is available (that'w why you received a such error).

I am creating a document with hyperlinks to a glossary. How can I permit my reader to return to the page that the hyperlink originated on? Thanks!
The last time I did this I put each glossary term on its own (much smaller) page, then created a link to return to previous view that covered the entire page so no matter where they clicked they would go back to where they came from. Or you could create a button that jumps to previous view. Of course this only works when each glossary term is linked just once. If the same term is used on different pages you link them all to the glossary but the link on the glossary page will only return to the first instance.

When saving a document with linked images the files are still huge. How to save smaller file size?
I create a document with multiple artboards whereby every image I place in the document is linked, however the size of the document is still enormous (around 350mb). It's a big document with a lot of clipping masks on images but surely it shouldn't be so big.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

NickNo way around it. Even if the images are linked, AI embeds previews of them, especially when they are processed in some way and affect appearance and a simple clipping mask qualifies for that just as much as pixel-based effects, opacity blending and what have you.

How to create shipment document with out outbound/inbound delivery document.
In my client scenario, there is no inbound delivery for normal purchases.
Just there are raising the PO to vendor, then they are doing MIGO for goods receipt.
Can we do shipment creation with reference to PO?
If it is possible, how it will be?

Please go to transaction VT01N here you enter Transportation planning point and shipment type then press enter.
Now system will take you to the shipment document creation screen here you click on Select deliveries or press F6 now system will take you to the select outbound deliveries screen in this screen you enter selection data then execute, now deliveries will get assigned to that shipment.
After assigning the deliveries enter the remaining data then complete the shipment finally save the shipment document.

Note:- Shipment process need to be carry out for the deliveries before PGI.
