Strange Entries in 'Pattern Analysis' results

I'm using the Pattern Discovery feature of Data Profiling and I'm getting strange characters in the results for Dominant Character Pattern and Dominant Word Pattern. For instance, two of the patterns returned are ^(9+)$ and ^(Aa((4))$ And the data that supposedly conforms to these patterns are simple integers or words.
Does any one know what could be going on here? Some kind of corruption in the result set? Or am I missing how to interpret these strange entries? Thanks.

The patterns discovered are regular expressions. Are you looking for common format discovery? If you want to know something is a number or a date or en email address look at the common format discovery (under the hood a common format may be a number of reg expression also). You will have to select 'Enable Common Format Discovery' and reprofile. The common format is another column in this pattern discover table.

That weird 2=">" is the result of using the Administration Server to update an obj.conf file that contained a <Client> tag with a syntax error. When the Administration Server writes out obj.conf files, parameters without values (e.g. "enabled") get reformatted as a name="value" pair, where the name is an integer (e.g. 1="enabled"). There was probably a stray double quote and right angle bracket in your <Client> tag.
You should manually remove the 2=">".

Strange Entries in System and Console Logs

I have some strange entries in my system and console logs. In the system log, I regularly see these entries:

In my console log, I regularly find these entries:

On occasion, I find something like this in my console log:
Assert failed: /Users/dave/dev/flash/player/FlashPlayer/platform/mac/plugins/../../../core/spl ay.cpp:7105
I admit to being something of a novice with the Mac, so I am not sure what to make of these entries, though I never noticed anything like this on my eMac, or on my prior iMac. Also, on the entry above, there are no users named dave on my Mac.
Has anyone else noticed this, and can anyone shed any light on what these messages mean?

Strange entries in lighttpd access log -- help!

I run a lighttpd server at home. I just use it for working with some scripts, and sharing stuff with my friends. I have a dynamic IP address, so I use dyndns for getting a hostname.

CUP Risk Analysis results are not shown, continues processing request

We have several users that complain the risk analysis in CUP never finishes. Requests do not contain risks or huge amount of risks which could explain a long runtime.
With one user we checked, the user is never getting the risk analysis result on his screen. Sitting together with the user shows that the progress bar at bottom of IE is completing analysis, however the screen is not updated to show the risk analysis result and continues to show the processing circle.
On other pc's CUP risk analysis result is shown as expected, so it must be some issue in local PC Internet Explorer settings.
Environment used is Windows XP with IE 8. GRC version is 5.3.
Have any of you experienced the same? And is there a solution available that will resolve this issue, by e.g. correcting settings in IE 8?

If you want to successfully use GRC 5.3 with IE8, you have two options:
1) Change a parameter in the server
2) use the compatibility mode.
3) Update NW

I dismiss option 2, because it requires to change in every end user computer, so I've been working with option 1 without problems. Bear in mind that NW 7.01 is supported: [Note 1433940 - Access Control compatibility on Netweaver Java server 7.01|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1433940]

Connect Lost and Strange Entry in Access Log

All users got FRM-92100 and at the same time, multiple strange entries in access_log like the one below.
Any ideas why a java error message is showing up as post? It looks like user's JVM is generating and sending this message, is that possible? What does this error message tell me about the status of the server?

the Post method shouldn't bother as it seesm that the servlet spills out all the error HTML file code. However
"java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: Native Library D:\ora9iapp\BIN\ifjsl90.dll already loaded in another classloader" points to a classloader problem.
All I found is a note saying that this happens if you have a running Forms while applying a Patch set to Forms or Oracle9iAS. In specific the OPM needs to be stopped before installing the patch. Otherwise you end up with the newer dll version not being copied to the system. There's a section in the readme about stopping OPM.
Not sure if this is helping your problem, but its the same error that you are getting.

Your computer doesn't have camera RAW support installed for a 6D. RAW isn't really a standard-format... it's more of a concept. Every individual camera has it's own unique RAW format (even though they all have the same .CR2 extension).
Each time a new camera comes out, companies that make RAW processing software will make an update available that adds that camera. You'll need to get that update and install it.

Difference in risk analysis results post sp upgrade

Hi Team,
Recently we upgraded our GRC component in dev box to SP level 14. We reactivated the BC sets and ran all sync jobs.
Now the risk analysis results are very different from the non upgraded system.
Do we need to activate BC sets post SP upgrade ? Also how will be the latest rule sets released by SAP imported into the system ?

Isn't ANALYZE outdated for R12?
You may still use the Analyze command in 11g Database (R12 is application version), and is not obsolete.

How would this resolve the issue?
If the optimizer is not updated with the latest statistics in database, then the COUNT(*) will not be updated and as a result the count will be showing a lower value.
I suggested you to perform an analyze or gather schema statistics in order to eliminate probable cause for the issue.

It depends on your costing variant. For sample, if you take the price in the 1° price estimated on the material view and this data has changed, you can have a difference between the first and the second estimate.
Perhaps also, it's just a definition of layout.
And 3rd hypothesis : you are looking on component in the ck40n and the variant don't take in account your cost component and just the material price.

Strange figures in Purchase Analysis report

Hello,
I am running a purchase analysis report and am a little confused by the results. I am running the reports using goods receipts. What I am finding is that there are a vast amount of zero quantity items shown in the results. When I drill down into the good receipt I can see that there are quantities there but they are not shown in the results. The quantities that are shown are where the goods receipt is open. Where the quantities are zero the goods receipts are closed.
Is this normal?

Hi Juan,
This is system behavior. When you select the report to be run on basis on GRPO, it wud display all the GRPO's but when you see a qty as zero in the report, it means that the target document is created for that GRPO. As suggested by Ms. Julie, you would have to make query report to get desired data.

Solution manager system log - strange entries

the problem we are facing in Solution Manager system log every five minutes appears a new error message:

Some of the systems are being connected successfully and the error messages in SM21 are not related to those systems. But some of the systems like DCR cannot be reached. And this fact causing the error messages.
I haven't configured Solution Manager because I have joined the project later. I would like to know what job is trying to access the satellite system and for what purpose.
On solution manager side I have checked all the scheduled background jobs - all of them have been executed successfully.
There some of them are scheduled but it is hard understand what is purpose of the job.
I have checked and corrected system landscape through SMSY and have maintained all the RFCs. They all OK now.
What else could force to make a connection to satellite system? And where is the place where it is hardcoded local(satellite) db2 connection entry?
Like I said before, some of the systems are being connected but some not. The one which has not been connected - there was recently changed SAP master password. I believe this is the key to resolve the problem. But the system itself operating 100% correctly.
Perhaps it could be CCMS that makes some extra connections to collect the data from the monitored systems. But I have checked all the RFC's in SM59 and they were OK.
Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

It was dbacockpit. The connection was maintained with old db2sid password. And it was causing problematic log entries.

Different Risk Analysis Results with the same user from 2 different RAR

I've loaded the same Risks, Rules, etc, into 2 GRC RAR environments (Sandbox and Quality systems); both of them are connected with the same SAP ECC system. But when I do a User Risk analysis (authorization level), the result from Sandbox is different from Quality system. I donu2019t have users or roles mitigated yet, users are synchronized, rules are exactly the same and I donu2019t know what happen??... Please, help me.

If I do a Full Sync of users to the same ECC system from both RAR boxes, I got different number of users loaded (i.e. 18757 vs. 18141), similar case with the full sync of roles. (13100 vs. 13150).
If I load exactly the same set of functions to both RAR systems and I generate the rules, I got the same problem, different number of rules is generated.
I've verified both RAR configuration and they are the same (excluded users, roles mitigated, etc.)
Is it a normal behavior? What could be wrong?

Different Risk Analysis Results with 10.0 and 10.1

Hello,
I do not understand why I get different results with 10.0 and 10.1. Exactly the same ruleset is applied!
Definition in 10.0 and 10.1:
Analyzed Role (which definitely contains the SOD):
Version GRC 10.0 finds the SOD S_FI14 and displays it. In 10.1 nothing is displayed...Any ideas what's the problem?

We had similar issues with 10 and 10.1.
We applied an SAP Note about logical groups and the ruleset, it did not work.
What did work:
When performing Risk Analysis, remove the Ruleset selection criteria (use the minus button).
