Streaming large files issue (flash streaming media server)

We are streaming a one hour F4V from streaming media server 3.5.2 and for some reason it is seeing our one hour video as being 10 hours long. We have tons of other videos and never ran into this problem in any of the other files. This is the only file that exceeds one hour. Any ideas. This occurs in the default player from the streaming server.

Also before anyone asks we are using RTMP and the file type is F4V not FLV.

    hey there integron, welcome to Discussions!
    it should be possible to do what you want w/ the purchase of the additional components of "Flip4Mac" to convert FCP's QT movie to WMV or AVI movie. there's more info on the license & converting @ the "Flip4Mac" 'site--http://www.flip4mac.com/

  • About  Stream Media Server???

    Hello everyone, I am not very understanding on the subject
    servers, I have an account at powweb, who works on Apache, it is
    possible to mount the service Stream Media Server?
    I now requeriment that are going redhat4 or win 2003, but as
    is installed on a server to pay as powweb??
    Thnks

    No, you cannot stream anything.. there are no servers in the TC.
    There is no way to backup locally as the TC itself is a backup device. Put it out of your head as a solution.
    For the ATV to use the TC your itunes library would need to be on the TC.. this is not a good plan at all.
    Also i tried connecting my TC to my router via ethernet cable but didn't work so had to connect wirelessly. I have four ports in the back of my router, does it matter which one i use?
    Connect to the TC and put it in bridge mode.. ie using airport utility manual setup, go to the internet tab.. for connection sharing set to off (bridged).. then update.. You don't need the ethernet permanently just to do the setup.
    Then plug it back into the router. Doesn't matter which port on the router or the TC once bridged.

  • HTTP Streaming Media Server 4.5 Help

    Hi!
    We have been using Flash Media Server to successfully stream our local TV station on the internet for a few years.
    In the past, we just directed a flash video player client to point to the RTMP live stream on the server.
    However, we want to begin supporting iOS devices. I therefore upgraded to version 4.5. (We use RHEL.. Linux FMS Server)
    I understand we need to switch over to HTML streaming. To begin, I can't get videos to stream online anymore! At this point I'm not worried about testing on an iOS devices. For purposes of this discussion, I'm just trying to get streaming working again on a flash client on a computer using the Adobe Media Sample Video Player utility. Any path I enter will not show the video stream. I'll provide details below:
    On the Flash Media Encoder, it is successfully encoding the stream using VP6 with audio in MP3 (essentially same settings we've always used). Given the new 4.5 server, we are using different values to connect to the server:
    fms URL: rtmp://10.16.16.1/livepkgr
    stream: livestream?adbe-live-event=liveevent
    It has been encoding with no errors for several days.
    I can confirm the FMS service is running on the server. Video On Demand works fine from it. Our videos will stream from the VOD application.
    However, when we enter the following stream URL from the sample video player: http://10.16.16.1/hds-live/livepkgr/_definst_/liveevent/livestream.f4m , it fails to connect.
    I tried falling back to the old stream path we used just to get the stream working again, which was simply: rtmp://livepkgr/livestream , but this will no longer work either.
    I am unable to explain why it's not working.
    Any help will be appreciated!!
    Alan
    P.S. You can test the stream using the server's external IP address of 66.186.186.18 . This path should be working from outside, but it's not: http://66.186.176.18/hds-live/livepkgr/_definst_/liveevent/livestream.f4m

    Hi! Thank you for your reply!
    I went ahead and placed the XML file into the web root and the behavior is different. Rather than failing to connect, it will connect, but recieve no data (says "buffering"). The XML file is set for now to allow access from everywhere.
    I checked the log files but found no signs of an error:

  • Tdms viewer+large files issue

    I built a VI that stores large [up to 50x50] 2D arrays continuously, every new 2D array is stored as a new group in a TDMS file.
    The VI streams out the data, it's OK, however when it finishes and the TDMS Viewer pops up, the LabVIEW keeps hanging and [seemingly] doing nothing. The TDMS files that the viewer tries to display can have easily over 10^6 pieces of 2D arrays inside if the measurements were running for days for example.
    Is there a clever way to make the TDMS Viewer display my file or at least say the quarter of it?
    Thanks,
    Krivan

    Also, if I use the code attached and I try to open that large file the LV keeps hanging [all open LV windows], the program does not enter the while loop because the open tdms VIs do nothing.
    However, if I run this program with a very small sized tdms file [~300 kbyte] containing only a couple of thousands of matrixes, it runs without any problem.
    I haven't tried the defragmenter so far because here it was reported to be not advisable.
    I also tried to read only a small portion of the files wiring 1000 to the read VI but [in case of the large files] the problem remains the same, the operation does not get through the TDMS Open VIs.
    Is there a clever way to handle large TDMS files?
    Thanks,
    Krivan

  • Uploading large file to iCloud & move to Server

  • Very large files checkin to DMS/content server

    Dear experts,
    We have DMS with content server up and running.
    However, there is a problem with very large files (up to 2GB!) - these files cannot be checked in due to extremely long upload times and maybe GUI limitations.
    Does anyone have suggestions how we could get very large files into the content server ? I only want to check them in (either via DMS or directly to the content server) and then get the URL back.
    best regards,
    Johannes

    Hi Johannes,
    unfortunatly there is a limit for files regarding the Content Server which is about 2GB. Please note that such large files will cause very long upload times. If possible I would recommend you to split the files to smaller parts and try to check it in.
    From my point of view it is not recommended to put files directly on the Content Server, because this could lead to inconsistencies on the Content Server.
    Best regards,
    Christoph

  • Stor.E TV+ Samba Large Files Issue

    Hi,
    Using SAMBA I can copy small files to my Stor.e TV+ but cannot copy files > ~500MB. Is there any update to software/bios that resolves this ? Can't see any available downloads on the Support Pages for this device. Can we configure the Samba Share ourselves at all ?
    I require to be able to copy Large Files over Samba to prevent having to locally attach the Device to PC using USB each time I want to copy my large digital files over to the Media Player.
    Thanks

    Hi
    I think this could be due to energy saving settings of the computer or the NAS has interrupted the connection.
    If the energy saving settings of your laptop or NAS are active, then they can go into a idle state or sleep mode even though they are being accessed via the network.
    I would recommend adjust the settings of the medias source to prevent it going into sleep while transferring files via the network.
    You could also try different connection modes:
    - LAN setup
    - Wlan setup (Adhoc connection)
    - PPPoE Setup (if your device is connected to network via DSL)
    I think it would be interesting to know what connection is affected.
    Good luck mate

  • Large file transfer problems over client/server socket

    Hi,
    I wrote a simple chat problem in which I can send files from client to client. The problem is when I send large files over 101 MB the transfer freezes. I do not even get any error mesages in the console. The files I am sending are of any type (Ex mp3, movies, etc...). I am serializing the data into a "byteArray[packetSize]" and sending the file packet by packet until the whole file has been sent, and reconstructed on the other side. The process works perfectly for files smaller than 101MB, but for some reason freezes after that if the file is larger. I have read many forums and there aren't too many solutions out there. I made sure to use the .reset() method to reset my ObjectOutputStream each time I write to it.
    Here's my file sending code:
    byte[] byteArray = new byte[defaultPacketSize];
    numPacketsRequired = Math.ceil(fileSize / defaultPacketSize);
    try {
    int i = 0;
    reader = new FileInputStream(filePath);
    while (reader.available() > 0) {
    if (reader.available() < defaultPacketSize) {
    byte[] lastPacket = new byte[reader.available()];
    reader.read(lastPacket);
    try {
    if (socket == null || output == null) {
    throw new SocketException("socket does not exist");
    output.writeObject(lastPacket);
    output.reset();
    output.writeObject("DONE");
    output.reset();
    output.close();
    socket.close();
    catch (Exception e) {
    System.out.println("Exception ***: " + e);
    output.close();
    socket.close();
    else {
    reader.read(byteArray);
    try {
    if (socket == null || output == null) {
    throw new SocketException("socket does not exist");
    output.writeObject(byteArray);
    output.reset();
    catch (Exception e) {
    System.out.println("Exception ***: " + e);
    output.close();
    socket.close();
    reader.close();
    catch (Exception e) {
    System.out.println("COULD NOT READ PACKET");
    Here's my file receiving code:
    try {
    // The message from the client
    Object streamInput;
    FileOutputStream writer;
    byte[] packet;
    while (true) {
    streamInput = input.readObject();
    if (streamInput instanceof byte[]) {
    packet = (byte[]) streamInput;
    try {
    writer = new FileOutputStream(outputPath, true);
    writer.write(packet); //Storing the bytes on file
    writer.close();
    catch (Exception e) {
    System.out.println("Exception: " + e);
    else if (streamInput.equals("DONE")) {
    socket.close();
    input.close();
    break;
    catch (Exception e) {
    I'm looking for any way I can possibly send large files from client to client without having it freeze. Are there any better file transfer ways other than socket? I don't really want FTP. I think I want to keep it HTTP.
    Any suggestions would be helpful.Thanks!
    Evan

    I've taken a better look a the code you posted, and
    there is one problem with the receiving code. You
    keep repeatedly opening and closing the
    FileOutputStream. This is not going to be efficient
    as the file will keep needing to be positioned to its
    end.Yes sorry I did change that code so that it leaves the file open until completely done writing. Basically I have a progress bar that records how far along in the writing process the client is, and when the progress bar reaches 100%, meaning the file is complete, the file.close() method is invoked. Sorry about that.
    I also ran some memory tests using the "Runtime.getRuntime().totalMemory()", and "Runtime.getRuntime().freeMemory()" methods. I put these methods inside the loop where I read in the file and send it to the client. here's the output:

  • Acrobat 9 Large File Issues?

    I work with very large Excel files that I need to turn into pdf's.  Very large meaning 30,000 to 50,000 rows in the spreadsheet.  Once turned into a pdf it is 586 pages long.  I had Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard and I began to experience issues.  If I were in the Excel spreadsheet and clicked on Acrobat, create pdf, the process would take 10-15 minutes and the resulting pdf was not correct (in Excel, I would do a pagebreak preview and the last column would be indicated as on a new page.  However, I would drag the line to include the last column and save the file that way.  But, the pdf created would still have that last column as a separate page, thus creating over a 1,000 pages in the pdf).  Whatever I did I could not get it to work.  However, if I selected "Print" and chose Adobe Acrobat as the printer, it would create a perfect looking pdf in about a minute.  Much faster and it looked correct.  The issue I found however was in searching for words in that pdf using the pdf search, some of the words were findable and some it indicated could not be found - even though the words were in fact in the pdf.
    I thought that perhaps I was beyond the capabilities of Acrobat 9 Standard so I installed Acrobat 9 Professional.  Now I can, in fact create a pdf directly from Excel.  It takes about 5 minutes but it completes and it looks good.  When I search for the words it now finds all of them.  However, as a test, I chose the print method which againn took less than a minute and produced a perfect looking pdf.  However, when doing the word searches again it did not find some of the words.
    Does anyone have any idea why?  I would much prefer to create the pdf using print because it is so much faster but I have to have search find all the words.

    Are those poorly-searchable pdf's confined to Excel source docs or does the problem also occur when starting from other Office apps such as Word?
    FWIW I once saw a web review of a free pdf writer utility that gave searchable pdfs from word processor apps but not from Excel. Maybe some pointers there?
    http://www.techsupportalert.com/best-free-pdf-writer.htm
    Just a wild-assed guess (I don't even have Pro 9 or Office 2007), do those missing words in the poorly-searchable pdf's contain ligatures, where text character strings such as 'fi' and 'fl' are replaced by single, special characters? Possibly such words might remain invisible to your pdf text search because you are typing the plain vanilla text version into the Acrobat search box?

  • Photoshop Elements 7 saving large files issue

    I use Photoshop Elements 7, I recently bought a new camera (24 megapixels). PSE7 is not happy, I am having lots of issues saving my work. Is anyone else having these issues?

    DJ, My computer is windows 8, below are the system requirements for PSE12 - looks like it will run in 64-bit. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
    No, you have seriously misunderstood what I said. PSE will not run as a 64 bit application under Windows. Even though you have a 64 bit version of Windows, PSE will NOT run as a 64 bit application under Windows. It will run as a 32 bit application under Windows 64bit, giving it a maximum of approx 3 GB of memory to work with. I don't know if that will make your problems go away or not. Please download the 30-day free trial of PSE 12 and see if your problems go away or not before you make a purchase.
    From the system requirements
    all other applications run native on 32-bit operating systems and in 32-bit compatibility mode on 64-bit operating systems

    I have not had any problems until yesterday when I went to export a new FCP project to Compressor and received the above messages. I have tried renaming the project, re-rendering, etc. to no avail. I have tried to follow the suggestions of similar threads but cannot find the place in Compressor where I can switch the video setting from automatic to NTSC.

    Disregard my last post - uninstalling Norton Anti-virus solved the problem.

    But how can I connect from a PC?
    Should I download some client software?
    Thanks for your kind help.

  • Patch Flash Media Server

    We currently have a server that operates as a streaming media
    server running Adobe Flash Media Server 2 in our organisation and I
    was looking into if there are any update features from Adobe
    available to automatically download and install latest security
    patches etc? Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Nothing at the moment, it has to be done manually.
