Streaming on motorola phones

Hello
Writing streaming application is "write once and debug everywhere" nigthtmare for me. That is my frustration.
my motorola phone v3xx streams in the browser. But when used with createplayer("rtsp://xxxxx/video.3gp"), it throws securityexception . I am not sure what I miss. I have set the permissions.
My samsung and LG phones work great, but motorola.

At the moment Shoutcast audio streams are not supported natively in Windows Phone. You will need to write a self implementation of IMediaStreamSource to parse the audiostream and also handle the http connections to the streaming server.
Another solution is to use a third party implementation such as www.jupitersdk.com.
It offers a well documented API, is easy to integrate and use into your project and there is a trial version for testing purposes.
Jupiter Sdk has successfully been used in several RadioStreaming apps which can be found in the Windows Phone Store. By the way, it allows not only to play Shoutcast and Icecast audiostreams in Windows Phone 8.1, but also to retrieve the stream metadata (i.e.
current Title and Artist), among other interesting features.

If you turned off Contacts wouldnt that mean that the Contacts would no longer be backed up to iCloud as well? That would make it a pain when upgrading a phone to not easily pull contacts back down.

How many photos are you trying to add to the stream? There is a limit of 1000.

In the older MIDP 1.0 models it was usually a matter of drawing outside of the regular borders (ignoring the value returned by getHeight).For MIDP 2.0 models of course there is Canvas.setFullScreenMode(). But you never get the whole screen, the top bar with the status and battery signal can't be drawn over.

Streaming video from phone

I want to stream video from phone's cam to a server.
I found MMAPI, with RecordControl I can:

this way the video is in "output" only after "commit()", then I could send it. Is there any way to have real streaming??

What do you understand with "real streaming"? Do you refer to frequency of transmission? The real time streaming is "not so real". If you put a small sleep time you will get a higher frequency and it will simulate a "real-time" streaming. To speed up your transmission, use UDP protocol instead of TCP, because media streaming in all techs is on top of UDP.

Problems to visualize a menu utilizing motorola phone

I have a problem to visualize a menu in my phone motorola. In particullary i implemented a menu. In WTK toolkit it is visualing ok, but on my motorola phone no. This because there is a button menu on phone. How can I solving this problem?

I tried on motorla site, but nothing. I think the problem ride on button menu.
In practice on my phone motorola when i start the apllication, i see first item of menu at left side and on center i see a button menu and if i click on this, i see second, third and fourth button of the menu. But i will want that all menu will seen on left side clicking on only button.

Capture image on motorola phones

I am developing a application for motorola phones.
I want to use Media API...n create Player using
Player p = Manager.createPlayer("capture://video");
Though documents says that it supports still image capture ..but on testing on phone through System.getProperty("supports.video.capture")...it gives me false.
I am using MotoRazr V3i.
Does anybody know that on which motorola phones (available in India)..does still image capture and file read/write really works??

Why is syncing with Motorola phones so BAD?

By now I would have thought the leader in mobile phones (Motorola) and Apple would have their act together, especially since they share technology putting iTunes in the ROKR and SLVR and RAZR.
I just bought a new SLVR and the syncing is as bad as it was with my black RAZR:
1. every phone number in Address Book gets a new contact in the phone, with an ugly -1, -2, etc. appended for multiple numbers belonging to 1 name
2. Address Book photos don't sync
3. iCal recurring appointments don't sync right-- they go to the phone, then on the next sync iSync thinks their new and adds them AGAIN to iCal in a messed up "detached" fashion (no longer recurring)
3. Address Book companies are listed only by the person's name in that company (if one exists) when it should be listed by Company Name, or better yet, changeable as a preference
4. company names have dashes in them instead of spaces
5. Motorola apparently doesn't believe in middle names, prefixes, or suffixes in a name
I mean, come on. What does it take to program text fields properly? This is 2006. All new phones should be good enough to use as simple PDAs at this point, ESPECIALLY a new $400 phone from Motorola, an Apple partner. The **** thing comes with a 512MB memory card!!! Yet they still can't store a decent contact.

1. Motorola Address Book model is based on phone numbers and not on contacts. One entry IS a phone number...
2. Motorola phones DON'T SUPPORT REAL SYNC AT ALL... So every time iSync has to sync with the phone, it has to download all the contents of phone's Address Book and Calendar, compare it to what it "should be" (without forgetting that datas on the phone are a degraded version of Mac's data since Mac has a much much richer model for Address Book and Calendar). This explains, for example, why syncs with Motorola are much slower than with other phones and why iSync has to handle much problems and edge cases.
3. Communication protocol provided by Motorola phones to access Address Book and Calendar is based on AT commands which is very (very) limited... many attributes (like contact pictures) can't be accessed or modified this way.
All in all... any minor iSync bug might have bigger consequences with Motorola phones.

Depending on what kind of computer you have, you're gonna need to put that backup in the appropriate folder or itunes is not gonna be able to see it for you to use.

Will iTunes on Motorola Phones Continue to be Supported?

Just wondering..will iTunes continue to support Motorola phones with iTunes, such as the RAZR V3i, even after the iPhone comes out? I would like to keep my V3i for a while as I like the iTunes function on it and it is only a few months old. Please advise. THANKS!!

Nobody knows for sure. It is likely that as long as your phone lasts it will work with iTunes.

I m sorry to say that it is not working in the device i870. While running the aplication, I got an error message "File System not supported" . When I call FileSystemRegistry.listRoots(), ./, / and /Storage Card were displayed in the list. When I tried to access ./ root, "bad file name" error is displayed. For the other two roots, I got "File System not supported" error. I was able to access and load the contents of the Starage Card by using the file URL "file:///Storage Card/". I want to read the pictures in the phone memory of iDEN phones.
Please help Me...

Not many people look at the KVM forum, so manybe I'll have better luck here.
On the Motorola phones (and emulators), I'm getting
StreamConnection.openDataInputStream - No Such Field or Method with the following code:
    con = (StreamConnection)Connector.
     open( "socket://" + host + ":" + port,
           Connector.READ_WRITE );
    rfb = new RFBProto( con.openDataInputStream(),
                  con.openOutputStream(),
               b , canvas );The method does exist in the APIs, and it works on Noka (real devices & emulator) & the WTK. The phone DOES support sockets (a telnet app works), so has anyone else encountered this? And if so do you have any idea how to get round it?

perhaps you would be better off contacting motorala
and checking which version of the jvm they have and
any known bugs - i'm sure they would have their own
forum (infact i signed up for it today i think) so
because it works on nokia, etc, you should be able
to blame motorola :)

My question Is there any need of streaming server ?

You may need check into the call stack and find out what is the root cause, for instance if there any chance that your phone cannot reach to the video address, and did you enable some network capabilities, etc.
